Given from Chicago I thought I'd stop by a " steak " restaurant in Key West and I wasn't disappointed. I was by my self so I grab a seat at the bar to watch the Bear game. Only 4-5 seats to view the game at the bar. Bartenders Mike and Nick were outstanding. I started with the cream of mushroom soup which was excellent. Had the surf and turf for dinner. My wife and I have been here a few times when traveling to Key West. They are clearly known for their steaks, which is exactly what we went there for. Steak was amazing & huge - I honestly didn't need the sauce, as the ribeye melted in my mouth. My wife ordered the same and as you can guess, same result. Service was over the top - fun, happy, on point and we were never without anything of need. 5 star dining. Excellent service! Had a great visit with top service. Excellent meals. I had the yellowtail snapper special with asparagus. It was special. The rest had surf and turf. Lava cakes for desert. They all loved it. The best steak they ever had was mentioned all evening. It doesn't get any better. Fun times, great spot for a special evening. Will be back for sure. Terrific - the only way to describe Prime. A truly professional waitstaff. The food is exceptional! Wow good steaks! I had swordfish with a delicious artichoke cream sauce, and I've never had better. It's still a 5 star experience. The food is exceptional and each time I come I try something different. This time, I had the she crab soup instead of an appetizer. It was thick with shredded crab. Very creamy and the best I've had in years. My husband had the filet mignon with a baked potato; the potato was huge and came with onions, cheese, bacon and sour cream. If I was going for a rating off my meal it would be three stars. My grouper had bones, was small and 1/2 was a bit undercooked. My asparagus was cool and plain. I asked for a sauce and improved it.... Everyone else in my party had amazing meals .... The macaroni and cheese was next level yum.... Drinks were goodly. Holy smokes. So good! Our waiter Alex (pronounced Alish) was amazing. Very attentive and knew what he was doing. We started with a dozen oysters. They were fresh and delicious. Alex brought us a ton of horseradish as requested, so that was awesome. We both had wedge salads, as we do at every steakhouse we go to. They were delightful! And then we each had the bone-in 24 ounce ribeye, with some creamy horseradish sauce on the side and they hit the spot. We started with a few of the different oysters they offer (I don't remember which ones we tried), but honestly I couldn't tell the difference. Maybe some folks are more attuned in that world. I got the filet, my guy got the bone in ribeye. I liked his steak better. I did add the blue cheese to the filet which I recommend if you're into that. The sides (mashed potatoes and creamed spinach) were okay, but I've definitely had better! My reason for the 4th star was our server. He was phenomenal! This is another place which we always visit when in Key West. I mean when you have great seafood and tropical fruits around you for a week, sometimes you just need a big ole piece of beef! Now, I know they have other great items on the menu, so to start the night we began with a glass of Riesling and a bourbon for me ( hey you cant take the southern gentlemen out of me even in the keys!) The appetizers were a plump juicy shrimp Cocktail and the king of southern Florida seafood 3 XL stone crab claws! Yummy and delicious. So....She finished off all but 1.5 bites (2 if the bites are smallish) of a 16oz Delmonico and I completely destroyed a 12oz hunk of wagyu ! Washed down with a bottle of Brunello di Montalcino. Now while I can say of this food was delicious, it didn't beat the service. We were given out own private little nook to enjoy our evening and our waiter...I have had this guy on 3 separate occasions was top notch. Prime's service and quality are unmatched! They were so accommodating for my large party of 11, and our server was incredibly attentive and friendly. Drinks came quickly. And the food was top tier. I tried the crab cake, carpaccio, and oysters Rockefeller for appetizers - all of which were delicious. This place is DELISH! Service was great from The time we walked in to when we left. We arrived within an hour of closing and never felt rushed at all. Moises the waiter was great. Very clear and articulate with the specials for the day. He gave us time to decide on our order without rushing back. I ordered the Pan seared chicken and we also had the catch of the day, the sword fish and it was delish. The bread was so good. The butter was so good. Everything was so freaking good and I highly recommend this place if you are in key west. Excellent service and the food was stellar! We went here on a rainy night but we're still able to sit outside since the seating is covered but honestly it's not much of a view. The steak was cooked to perfection and every side we shared was delicious. We did the garlic mashed potatoes, smoked Gouda macaroni and cheese, and the broccoli au gratin which was the best I've ever had.
