TL;DR if you're looking for a nice steak restaurant highly suggest this place. Nice atmosphere, friendly and attentive wait staff, wonderful food. We had a reservation which may have been a bit of overkill since they weren't super busy. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who sat us and shortly after our waiter (Ryan) came by and introduced himself and gave us a quick rundown of the restaurant which was nice. Mentioning that their steak cooks tended to be on the rarer side and on the top of the menu they had the description of each of the cooks for the steaks. We started with the bruschetta which was a great starter the tomatoes were wonderful juicy and a little sweet which was balanced by the balsamic and garlic spread they put on the bread which was toasted nicely not too much but enough to give a good crunch. We ordered the half roasted chicken and New York steak medium well. The half roasted chicken was wonderful with lots of flavor, very juicy and it sat on a bed of the creamy mashed potatoes and some asparagus. The New York steak was also wonderfully seasoned with a side of creamy mashed potatoes which were a nice balance of creamy but still had a bit of texture which was nice. Definitely could have gotten the medium as it would have been a bit closer to what I imagine a medium rare is at other places. The side of fried Brussels sprouts were amazing as well wonderfully fried with a bit of a sweet taste but not too much. My boyfriend and I are obsessed with Prime. We go all the time. We love the bone marrow, if you haven't tried it you're missing out. The deviled eggs are great too because the toppings rotate and each egg is different. We also love the tuna poke. It's light and fresh and goes well before a big steak. My boyfriend also loves the wedge salad with steak. And the skillet cookie is a great way to end the night. read more

The service was exceptional in regards to our waitress. Other than that this place sucked. My ribeye was undercooked not once, but twice. When speaking to the manager he told me I should "read the temperature descriptions" and it's essentially my fault the steak was undercooked. The steak was completely red and raw. read more

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times and it is one I would go back to. Especially for happy hour and here's why. When I entered on a Saturday night, there were still a couple of chairs at the bar. They were also open tables but as I was going solo, I didn't want to use up a table if I don't have too. What I appreciate about Prime's happy hour is that even though their food list isn't too extensive. It is fine enough that one won't get bored and could potentially get filled with the selections. I had the tuna poke and the deviled eggs this go around. They didn't disappoint though I would recommend those with particular allergies or just a dislike for certain foods to ask what is on top of each deviled egg as they customize each one. I also took a drink while I was there. I was looking forward to the Paloma which they had listed as an option. However, they didn't update their happy hour cocktails menu as such they were not serving 2-3 of the drinks that were listed, including the Paloma. Was I sad? A little. The drinks looked intriguing and I had one in the summer previously. Hopefully, they updated it. I had the Moscow mule instead which was fine. In terms of the bar, it was fine. There were TVs there to show games but it wasn't "sports bar loud." It was there as a convenient addition. There were people conversing around especially those in dates. Ok, everyone complaining that their "well done" steak was a little under: go somewhere else. If you're spending between $30-$60 on a steak, it is a waste to cook it well done. Had dinner here and had steak frites and a couple old fashioneds, which were both really delicious. The steak had a nice sauce that worked well with the meat, which has cooked to perfection at medium rare. Also got a side of mashed potatoes and they were buttery and creamy. We've been here a couple times the last month, and sadly, looks like things have going downhill fast. First time, marrow was burned and they had to throw it out and remake. Second time, the ox tail was doused in cloves, medium rare still showed a heartbeat, and something was really wrong with the wine. Both of us got sick afterwards. I want to love Prime Steakhouse, really I do. We need a restaurant like this. The number of overpriced steaks I've had on the Eastside that didn't live up to the restaurant's hyped reputation, well, it's way too many. And Prime makes a really great steak. 3 of us dined and we all ordered ribeyes, medium. And we all simply loved the steak. The steaks were cooked perfectly. They were tender and melted like butter in the mouth. They were perfectly seasoned and perfectly seared. Also, the service was excellent and our waiter was just the right amount of attentive, never too absent, but not all on top of us all the time, either. But that's where the love ends, unfortunately. The atmosphere is just average, not better than, say, The Keg. I started with a wedge salad. I'm not sure what to say about it. It was yummy. the iceberg lettuce was fresh and crispy. The blue cheese crumbles and dressing were fine. What puzzled me about it was how over-designed it was. It had pork belly. It had hazelnuts. It had hard-boiled egg. It had pickled onions on top. It had grape tomatoes. It was almost a Cobb salad, really. Sometimes less is more. Side dishes are marketed on the menu as "for the table," yet the portion size we got of sauteed green beans was really a typical one-person portion. And the beans...they didn't seem so much seared as likely steamed and then maybe tossed in the pan for a moment with some over-toasted garlic that looked for all the world like almonds. I had a baked potato, served with butter, chives, and sour cream. I turned down the bacon. The potato was tasty, the texture sort of al dente. I prefer a nice, fluffy inside with a chewy skin. This wasn't that. Still, I'm not really knocking the potato. What I will knock, hard, is the french fries. I've never tasted such desiccated fries. If an Egyptian Pharaoh were buried with his favorite fries, and we discovered them centuries later in the depths of his pyramid, I imagine they'd have this texture. No one ate the fries. We had birthday cake at home, so we skipped the dessert, and we're sort of laying off the alcohol right now, so drank only water. Even with all that, we'll likely grace Prime again someday, when we're looking for a dinner out near home with a good steak. It's kinda the only good steak out we've ever had around here in this price range. read more

A nice place for steak in downtown Redmond. I've ordered the filet mignon here a couple of times, and it's been cooked just how I expected (not over or underdone). Served with a hefty dollop of butter and a side -- I've had their fries and mashed potatoes, and both were good. Their cocktails are also good, decently strong and pretty reasonably priced. Prices are a little high overall though not crazy. Service has been great -- attentive without being overbearing. This was my first time trying this place out and I do have to say I was very impressed . The restaurant itself was very clean and the staff was nice and quick. We did not have to wait , we got seated right when we walked in which was great because I was expecting for them to tell us a wait time but nope which was a bonus ! We started off with their roasted bone marrow and their lobster chowder, the bone marrow was amazing for the amount we got and the pieces It was worth paying for. The lobster chowder was not my favorite , to me it had no flavor barely any lobster , I for sure will not be getting this again; the portion was worth the price but the flavor just is not there I was disappointed only took like 2-3 bites and didn't touch it again so that was a bust. We had also ordered some of their garlic fries and that was just amazing (were really big on garlic fries well potatoes in general) lol so that was really good . For our main meal we ordered their seared prawns and scallops, it was really good the prawns and scallops had the right amount of flavor and they were juicy not dry at all their polenta was amazing as well it all tied in together amazingly. We also ordered their roasted half chicken and that was just beyond words, the chicken was nice and soft it was so tender that it literally felt apart just by stabbing it with a fork, the polenta was amazing as well great flavors overall I will totally be getting that again; the only thing I was not vey fond of was the greens on top , it was too much for me as in flavor I felt like it was hiding the other flavors and all you could taste was the greens so I just removed it and set it on the side. Yummy and varied. Kid's menu items are a little pricey but generous portions more than rationalize the cost. Tenderloin tips were absolute perfection. My son has literally never eaten roasted onions at 17 and ate every last one. Not a good place for romantic vibe or any important occasions. Onion soup is unacceptable with half bowl full of cheese. 13 bucks is only ok if the quality tripled. 3 pairs of Scallops and shrimps well cooked but with underwhelming sizes that you can easily buy in Costco with very cheap price. Grits surprisingly is the most impressive food of the night. 38 bucks doesn't make sense in most part of the planet. Filet mignon is well made. 12oz priced 50+ is understandable in Seattle area but I personally won't come back for it since the quality is reproducible in many other places with cheaper price, arguably at home. A Friday date night with 150 ish USD, I would expect better food, Interior, music, service (at least not being interrupted during my conversation just to answer the food is ok for 3 times at least ). If you want steak - you've come to the right place! We come here often because it's walking distance AND because they have great food. Food aside, they have friendly staff and knowledgeable servers. I always get the steak trio - it's a 9oz tenderloin , but accompanied 3 different ways sooo it's like you get to try 3 different things! Sooooo delicious. They also have a great prime rib cooked to perfection ( sharing is an option -Do it -it's a lot). The server always knows what wine pairs with your dinner so we tend to buy a bottle. We had a server give us a fun little blind taster of 3 wines to see if we went with his initial recommendation- and we did! We've been into Prime a number of times. Service is always warm, friendly, and attentive. They're a steakhouse that also has a great selection of sandwiches and salads. I highly recommend the Prime Rib Dip. Ask for their house made sauces. When I've ordered a burger with avocado they add generous, perfectly ripe avocado goodness. I was disappointed with my last visit to this steakhouse. We ordered the King Salmon and the Tomahawk. My salmon came out raw and had to be sent back and the asparagus was also undercooked and unseasoned. The quinoa tasted very bland. The restaurant itself had a very dirty vibe inside and out. The back side of the restaurant was rundown. The tomahawk was slightly over cooked from what we ordered but overall tasted great. Admittedly this was not my first choice when searching for a restaurant for a good steak. Boy was I surprised (and happy!) I took my girlfriend here for a special occasion and it was perfect. From the 1880's Old Fashioned to the chocolate cake desert. Yum. I enjoyed the 8oz filet that was cooked to perfection, juicy and very tasty. My girlfriend raved about her choice, the short ribs. The deviled eggs were really cool as each one was a little different and unique. The Brussel sprouts were good. The rainbow carrots were yummy! The cookie in a skillet was quite fantastic, similar to a pazooki. The wine selection was extensive and quite reasonable in terms of price! The tomahawk steak though... wasn't the best. We ordered medium rare and it came medium rare, but it was cold. Not the inside of the steak like you would think, but the outside was a bit cold. Not sure how that happened. In the middle of the record breaking heat wave (111 today!), with social distancing still required, finding anywhere to eat was a daunting task this evening. Power outages closed many restaurants, and as newcomers to the area, we were at a loss - until we happened upon Prime Steakhouse. While they were only able to take people with reservations, and were closing early, the compassionate man at the front took pity on us and tucked us into an unused table with some cold water until a spot in the bar opened up. Imagine my delight when the very reasonably priced food and drinks turned out to be amazing! The bartender made an authentic classic Negroni, and the steak sandwich and wedge salad were delicious. Prime Steakhouse is our new favorite neighborhood restaurant. I can't wait to go back. read more

The place was not packed for a Thursday night, which we were happy about it. Service was fast and very nice customer service. We both ordered steaks and the sides were big. I guess we could have shared one entry. We also had wine and they allow you to have a sample taste if you are not sure what to get. I love it :D Anyways, the only complain we have and the waiter also said people complained about the same reason was that the restaurant is way too noisy. It was because of the architecture he said. 4 of us were looking forward to a dinner at Prime Steakhouse in Redmond on Saturday night. We had a reservation and were met by the hostess who acted as it she could barely be bothered with us, not friendly at all. The waiter came to our table, eager to describe all the cuts and qualities of meats they had to offer. We ordered some non alcoholic drinks and once we did that, his demeanor and attitude toward us completely changed and he was basically annoyed and very short with us the rest of the evening. Extremely disappointing. We ordered appetizers and meals. The rest of the staff, who delivered our food, filled our water and took away our dishes were very nice and friendly. The food was just ok.... the steak bites did not have much flavor and the Wagyu flat iron steak lacked flavor. The food is generally overpriced. We visited this restaurant about 6 years ago and it was great. It has definitely gone downhill since then. It will not be a place we return to. Honestly the poor service by our server was the most disappointing part of the meal. read more

I like Prime for their service and their diverse menu. There are a lot of different cuts to choose from when it comes to the types of steaks they serve. I'm usually here for lunch. My usual includes the bone marrow, soup and steak. Let's start with the bone marrow...yum!! You get 3 huge bones to scoop fat from. :) The bones are served with grilled crostini and a house bacon jam. The French onion soup is so rich and flavorful, maybe because they use a veal stock instead of your traditional beef stock. They def load on the cheese which I really appreciate (gruyere and fontina cheese! Yumsss!) Now to the steaks...I've tried a few cuts here before. My least favorite was the 8oz tenderloin, the sauce was just salty for my liking and there isn't enough fat, just a hunk of meat. The 9oz shoulder tenderloin, same problem, but the server size is a little more portioned out. 3 (3oz) cuts each layered with a different dressing (Peppercorn Demi, Dungeness crab/Bearnaise yellow sauce and the last one being with bordelaise sauce and garlic chips. I had the 20oz tomahawk before and also wasn't really impressed. I think "The Butcher's Table" and "Seven Beef" serve much tastier Tomahawks. It may have also been the seasoning on the tomahawk that I didn't like (cowboy rub). Go with the ribeye, delmonico or porterhouse. All great options, dry aged for 35 days. Enjoy! read more

I don't know why anyone would not rate this place 5-stars! We happen to find this place looking for a great steak place near our house, but we ended up driving an hour north to Prime. We were lucky enough to have the owner, Jason, wait on us. I had the filet and it was cooked to perfection! I also had the Oscar topping. The meat was sooooo tender and flavorful. I cannot say anything bad about this place. My wife could not figure out what to drink, but Jason and his bartenders made a few drinks for her to try. We went for an early dinner around 4:00pm. The restaurant was empty but the table's were ready for the dinner crowd. I noticed how clean the restaurant was and the decor was nice, tall booths in dark wood and tables placed with decent spacing. There were photos which appeared to be of old Redmond. Prime is a very inviting place to dine. We began our meal with the lobster bisque, French onion soup, two wedge salads. The bisque and soup was excellent, the half wedge salad was huge and really tasty. My main course was the 64 oz. cowboy bone in rib-eye steak and baked potato. The steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. The servers were very attentive and helpful. The Prime will be my go to steakhouse. If you dine at the Prime, bring your appetite and be prepared for an excellent dining experience! The host and server were AMAZING. Thank you for the kind welcome! The food, however, was quite terrible. I ordered my steak well, and it should have been hot with a little pink. It was very well done with no pink, and was quite dry. Husband's steak was supposed to be medium and it was soft pink and was a disappointment. We NEVER mind spending money for good food. This was not it. We have had steaks all across the country, and have had our share of wonderful steaks and poorly done steaks. This ranks with the poorest of the poorly done. We were in Seattle (from Auburn) for a Mariner's game, and chose Prime for our lunch to enjoy the day. I am a teacher at the end of summer break and this was a last hurrah to summer fun with my husband. We were incredibly saddened by the food quality. We will not return.
