Definitely a hidden gem. In all of our years living in Stockton we just came and it hands down became a favorite in the Lincoln Center! My husband and I came to celebrate our anniversary. I did make reservations with Open table, although I did request an anniversary touch, note or something special it didn't happen. Not sure if there was a miscommunication because I did it on the Open table app. Nonetheless, it wasn't THAT big of a deal. Mood and lighting is definitely romantic we definitely loved that. This was the worst dining experience we have had in a long time. I believe dinner at Applebee's would have been more enjoyable. We invited out of town friends to what is supposed to be the 'premier steakhouse in Northern California', and we were all sorely disappointed. It started with the Caesar salad being limp and overdressed with a nasty tasting dressing - we could not eat it. I ordered the $49 petite cut prime rib and specifically asked how thin it was; the waiter indicated approximately one inch. It was not. It was 1/2 inch and served in a puddle of water - I'm assuming from the side of broccoli (which was good, although not seasoned at all). It was also very fatty, as was my husband's $59 ribeye. The mashed potatoes were OK, nothing special. The 'roasted' mushrooms lacked any flavor. The brown butter béarnaise and red wine bordelaise sauces were good, but the green peppercorn sauce was inedible. One of the $49 filet mignons was terribly over-seasoned on one half; the loaded baked potatoes were huge and very good. We ordered the creme brûlée for dessert (a custard with a caramelized sugar layer on top), but were served a sweet soupy mess under a crunchy top - the custard had not set. We also had the adult sundae, which was very good, but could not make up for the rest of the overpriced, unappetizing food. The service was marginal, at best - definitely not what is expected from this type of establishment. The worst part was, not one server ever came by and asked how we liked our food! My husband and I have been here before and really liked the atmosphere, the service and the food. But after paying almost $400 for this lousy experience, we will not be back. read more

Food was excellent! Bar staff and busing staff great. However, waitress service was very bad. She didn't bring us oyster plates and forks until after oysters were eaten and plates cleared away. Our butter was cleared and I asked for it back as well as another roll; never got either. She didn't checkup on is to see what we needed until well into the meal. Had she I would have been able to tell her my creamed spinach and mascarpone mashed potatoes were cold. When I did tell her, she offered to heat my food up. By then I was done and full so I said "no". She didn't even offer us a box to take it home (and I didn't ask) or apologize). She certainly should not have left the charge on our tab. This is a delicious steakhouse with amazing staff. I think our waiter is Paul? Peter? Regardless, he is fantastic and he was our waiter on multiple occasions! They have a great wine selection and the cocktails are so fun, you have to try the cotton candy one! My favorite meal is the filet mignon cooked Medium rare with garlic butter on top. Ask for the peppercorn sauce on the side with fresh horseradish....if Heaven had a taste....it'd be that combo. As for the Sides I recommend The mushrooms and the mascarpone mashed potatoes! This place is versatile-if you want a fancy date night it exceeds that requirement. If you want a delicious steak with a fine red wine but have a 4yro with you-they can accommodate that also. I don't like to give bad reviews but there were some things that stood out for me . I have heard about Prime Table for at least a year. The reputation that a steak house like Prime table has been passed around in a good light. My wife and I were sat down with very little Waite and saw the menu selection. Small menu but was to be expected. We could have chosen anything with the exception of the aged steaks or prime rib. I order the 8oz filet mignon with vegetables with some of the bourbon sauce on the side. My wife order the steak salad. The filet mignon was topped with what seems to be a Mediterranean salt the overpower the flavor of the steak. I felt that the person that made or grilled the steak was careless in over salting it. The medium rare temperature was on point. Service was rushed. I ordered vegetables which were crisp and al dente. But I also ordered a side of their mashed potatoes that tasted like it came out of a package of instant. Paying $45 for a filet mignon should never have an accompaniment of cheap prepared sides . I have had filet mignon and many other steak houses and one expected a better prepare ration. My wife's steak salad was superb and well prepared and tasted fresh. I tasted her salad and I could not be more impressed. Our female server seems like she was rushed and could care less whether we were there dining or not. We took our three-year-old who is well behaved. But waited quite some time to have water refilled. The cocktail I ordered was forgotten so that was not a good thing. I do love leaving great reviews. But this experience was such a downer for the reputation that I have relied on for over a year. I would like prime table to consider their service to be evaluated. It Would be great to see better service and meat preparation that is lightly seasoned as opposed to an over salted expensive piece of me. The only reason I give this place a 4 and not a 5 is because it is hard to get a table, but that just shows how good of a place it is! It is not one of those places you can last minute decide on...and we're that couple. When you do get a chance to dine here, the prime rib is the best in Stockton. They also have these house fries that are delish! Your water cup never gets low. The place is small though and, depending on the table you get, it could feel like you're dining with the people seated next to you. $240 for dinner for me and my wife and I can safely say that it was one of the worst meals we've ever had. Without going into painstaking details, suffice it to say that I ordered a Prime Rib and it came out cold. And when the waitress called over the manager, he approached the table with an attitude and seemed to imply that I don't know the difference between hot and cold food, And he explained that it's not really possible to deliver hot food to the table (I'm absolutely serious, couldn't make it up). My wife's $39 petite filet mignon looked like a small hockey puck with spice on it. Too small to constitute a meal and cool as well. I guess the laws of thermodynamics can't be managed in their kitchen. I ordered French Onion Soup that I specifically asked prior to ordering to confirm that it was a rich, dark broth (I can't stand French Onion Soup that looks and tastes like dishwater). I wound up sending it back because the ice water on the table had more body and flavor than this soup. In conclusion, the manager knew how unhappy we were and offered nothing. No complimentary glass of wine, no reduction of the bill. Nothing. But half of the tables in the restaurant being empty on a Thursday night indicated to me that we weren't being selectively given lousy food and perhaps this is just the way this restaurant operates. So be warned. And don't expect to see us patronizing this restaurant ever again. read more

This is my first time trying this restaurant and I highly recommend it. I also went through reviews on Yelp to read what foods people recommended. We made reservations for dinner same day, at 5pm for 8pm. We got seated pretty quickly. Server came and took our drink order and recommended A Star is Born. You would think it would be really sweet, but it was actually just right. Not too sweet or strong. They gave us bread, only 1 each. I thought it would be a bread basket but I think you can ask for more. I ordered the Ribeye medium with creamed spinach and marscapone mash potatoes and garlic butter on the steak. The ribeye comes with 2 sides and a sauce. Ribeye was very tender and juicy. The garlic butter on top was chef's kiss! Added great flavor to the ribeye. I loved the creamed spinach. Savory and creamy!! Recommend!! And the marscapone mash potatoes were creamy and firm, complimented everything well. I still had room for dessert, so I ordered the vanilla bean gelato. And it was a perfect size about 1 1/2 or so scoops and I love that it was very firm. It also had great flavor not too sweet. I'm only giving this place four stars because this is my first time here and I will probably give it one more star when I come back and get the same dish and if it is consistent then I think I would definitely give it a 5/5. I also want to try it out their other dishes. As far as the ambience goes, it reminded me of like a restaurant in the movie Goodfellas where you can possibly find an Italian mafia LOL. But lighting is very dim and I think that it is perfect for date night. I went with my boyfriend and overall we spent about $148 not including the tip. The servers were also very friendly. This was supposed to be an evening to remember however that wasn't the case. Took my girlfriend out for her birthday dinner to this establishment that was highly rated and was looking forward to the meal we were about to feast on. She ordered the ribeye steak and I ordered the prime rib medium. When my meal was served the lights were so dim in the restaurant that I could not see what the prime rib looked like. I had to shine my light from my cellphone to see how it looked. I was not impressed. There was no crust on the outer ends of the prime rib. There was no seasoning I could taste either. When I cut into the prime rib it felt and tasted like it was cooked to a medium rare temperature. Not what I was expecting to say the least. I've had better and the best I can say is this was at best a casino buffet prime rib. A very crappy casino buffet. There was no way I was paying for this meal as it wasn't even worth the plate it was on. I let the server know that I wasn't satisfied with the prime rib and she wanted an explanation of why so I let her know. I asked if I can exchange my order for a ribeye steak so I had to wait another 20 minutes or so. I wasn't impressed with the ribeye steak. It lacked flavor and it was a slightly thin steak but it was better than the prime rib. The restaurant is small, quaint, and intimate. The TV's are viewable in black and white for some reason. Probably to go along with the ambiance of the restaurant is my guess. If you like eating out and you favor steakhouses, I wouldn't say don't try this restaurant but try it out and see if you like it. I'll try something out at least once and this place wasn't for me.
