    Garden salad and chicken wrap.
    Alexis S.

We came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, towards the end of the lunch rush. But the restaurant must have been severely short handed. We were sat immediately, but it took our server about 15 minutes to take our order and roughly 45 minutes to get our food. Our table of 4 ordered 2 burgers, a wrap and I ordered their garden salad. My side salad was delivered last. My salad was good, but had a bit too much onion and unfortunately, the onions were on the strong side. I shared some bites of my fiancé's burger, and it was delicious. While I really enjoyed his burger, I don't think we'll be coming back any time soon just because it took so long to be served. Maybe if we're not in a hurry we'd comeback.

This was my second time coming to Midgley's. We had the poke nachos and the Wagyu sliders. Both were very good. I would say the ambience is casual. The only issue that I had was there was confusion on the Wagyu sliders and the waitress forgot to put the order in. But they remedy that when I brought it to their attention. No worries.

The food was just OK pretty subpar. We had the smoked prime rib and it really was over smoked. I had to ask if there was liquid smoke on it cause that stuff makes me gag. I was assured there wasn't but could've fooled me.

We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed a nice evening with great service. Food - we started with the fried avocado. It was just enough flavor to keep it light. I had the chili that was hidden under the fried onions. So tasty. I enjoyed the dish. Love to come and just relax with great food.

We came here on a Saturday for a late lunch. The lunch rush was finishing up. We were seated promptly on the patio (nice big shaded patio). But it became apparent quickly that the staff was stretched thin. Empty tables on the patio from prior guests still had plates and cups on them waiting to be bussed. Our server was trying to be attentive while managing her other duties, but our order wasn't taken until 15 minutes after being seated. It took another 35-40 minutes before our food was served (we all had burgers). The food was great. The burger was big, tasty, served with crispy fries. I would 100% order it again. Overall, the burger was great, but the speed of service was subpar. The staff was friendly and were working hard, but they needed another 2-3 people working this shift. Midgley's is an older restaurant now, and it shows on their hardcover menus which are quite worn. I would come back here for the food, but not if I needed a quick bite to eat with somewhere to go afterwards.

We went to Midgely's Public House on December 23rd to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant is located in Lincoln Village in Stockton and the entire area was beautifully decorated for Christmas. I booked a reservation through Open Table and check-in was simple and easy. The lady who checked us in also wished us a Happy Anniversary which was nice! The hostess took us to a table that wasn't clean, but we stood by waiting while she quickly bussed and cleaned it. This was a little strange since the restaurant was empty and there were plenty of booths and tables available. Our server, was great - very attentive and friendly. My husband and I ordered a dozen oysters which were superb, flavorful and good sized. I had a Bailey's coffee and my husband ordered a crisp Savignon Blanc. We shared a French Onion soup (perfection) and each ordered the house ribeye steaks which were nicely done. For dessert, we split a creme brulee which was delicious. We had a great time and will definitely be back. The Happy Hour menu and specials looked pretty good and we're excited to try it!

Can't stop thinking about that chicken bacon ranch wrap with a side of chowder!! I've gotten the chance to stop by a couple times and Everytime I get the same thing because it's so good, I don't want to have anything else. I seriously crave for more a week later I always come specifically for Midgleys but there are so many other things near that make it easy to stop by on the way which is always convenient. Parking is easy with a private lot and the area is nice. I have actually never eaten inside as they have a great outdoor seating area - and when I've gone inside it seems kinda dark. I'm always up for lunch at Midgleys with friends!!

We were looking for dessert and Yelp helped us find this gem. This location has inside and outside seating. Inside was a bit dark but it was fine. We were greeted and seated quickly. We decided to get the ahi nachos for an appetizer. Such a good choice. I've been thinking about them all week honestly. Very tasty. For dessert, we got the banana pudding and mud pie. The mud pie wasn't what I was expecting but it was good either way. Warm brownie under a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The banana pudding was excellent. The grilled bananas gave it such a great flavor. I can't wait to go back.

On March 13, 2025 around 3:30pm, me and my husband stop by to grab a late lunch. We order an SJM Burger and a Cheeseburger and a appetizer which was prime rib, sliders, we were waiting for our order. The appetizer came out really quickly, but our burgers were still on the way, so we waited. My husband was falling asleep by the time it was 5 o'clock that's where we got our burgers mine did not come with caramelize onions. Our food did not feel like it was fresh felt like it was under a warm lamp for a while now. We have been here for a very long time and the food was taking forever (45 mins) to get its kind of ridiculous. I never went to a place where my burgers were gourmet and it took at least 5-10 minutes long not a whole hour. Mind you it wasn't busy at 3pm so I have no idea what's going on? Is it the cooks fault or is it the waiter fault? Our waiter Devin; was okay he was more distracted talking to his table behind us maybe it's the way we were dress like we didn't have money to pay for 2 burgers and a sliders or I maybe wrong but he was chatting it up with them for at least more then 15- 20 minutes. By this time my husband was getting sleepy and just lost his appetite for his food. I lost mines way long ago when I found out we been there for more than an hour for a burger!! Mind you the couple behind us was seated after us and got their food before us. I am very disappointed on the service I got I was one point just getting up and leaving without paying this is ridiculous. If you wanna earn my business you better do better than this. I never rate places I go to a 1 star only if they disappointed me which today is that day. Rating on overall : Food : 2/5 was not fresh for my liking Server: 2/5 his performance was not bad but not great due to the chatting it up and not asking the cooks hey my table is waiting where is their food? I went to Hells Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay and his servers are not chatting it up with others and leaving their other table waiting on food he would fire them for not following his restaurant as expectation . Would I come back I might depends on the changes on what can the manager offer and if they can make it right for me then maybe if not well you might not see me anytime soon.

Great food and good for dogs. I got the Clam Chowder and it was full of clam pieces. The Chili was awesome too. The server Jen brought water for our dog right away and even brought a bacon treat! Some people say it's expensive, but if you're having steak when is it not expensive? I have to have a steak next time I come. It will be a regular stop in Stockton!

    Amanda W.

Pretty decent for the price points (on the pricey side). So I asked for medium rare ribeye and it came more medium but it was still good with the seasonings. Garlic roasted potatoes for the side with plenty of garlic so yum! The grilled asparagus wasn't bad either. The grilled cesar salad was a favorite as it's rare to find! It wasn't the best I've had but definitely good. Service was so friendly and patient with our group. Plenty of parking. Slightly nicer but still casual steakhouse. Inside and outside seating.

Riebeye. Very good. I swapped for mashed potatoes

We came to celebrate my husband's birthday with my family. We came in with balloons and everything. The hostess's face was just so unwelcoming. The girl looked pissed off to be working there. I kid you not and when I said hi!how are you?, her response matched her attitude. So much so that on our way out, my mom told her she should change her expression because it's uninviting. Our server was friendly and welcoming however, 2 people in our party were torn between 2 red wines and asked for a sample of both. I was a bit put off when our server told them she'd bring them the 2 to share. What if you don't feel comfortable drinking out of the same cup, regardless if you're related? She ended up bringing both their own samples. So that was good but did leave a bad taste. One person didn't like any of the two reds and wanted a white wine instead but based on how the server replied and seems they're a bit stingy, we didn't bother asking to try a sample and just got a glass of the white instead without trying it. Appetizer: the asparagus wrapped things were not good. They had zero flavor and totally bland. And the sweet chili dipping sauce was just an odd choice. An aioli would've been better. 1/5 stars. My ribeye was delicious (5/5) and cooked how I wanted. Last time I didn't like the potatoes it came with so this time I asked to swap for mashed potatoes. Much better ! A few of us didn't finish our dinner and another server asked if I wanted him to box it for me. I said sure. I opened the box before we left to ensure my steak was in there. All good. I didn't see my mashed potatoes or aspargus and figured they were under the steak. When I got home, no mashed potatoes or asparagus so, that tells me they were tossed. This was quite disappointing. I asked our server if they did anything for birthdays like an ice cream scoop or something. She said they don't and it would be an upcharge but if we wanted to order a dessert, she could put a candle on it. I think something as simple as an ice cream scoop would go a long way for birthdays. Ambiance, the place is nice and I used to think it was a bit upscale being in Lincoln center with prices to match but some of the clientele on this visit changed my perception of this place and felt like I was at the bar at applebees on a Saturday night.

    I'm definitely going back!

And I love it! Garlic Bro's is a not so hidden local favorite that has become much more popular through the years. It sits right on the Delta for a perfect water-front view for outside dining and those lucky enough to get the huge bay window seating on the inside. I can order a full meal just on the appetizers alone. Ive tried them all. The fried raviolis and the grilled duck wraps (in bacon) are among my favorites. Garlic Bro's has a unique selection of oven baked pizza's but when I come to Garlic Bro's, it's all about the entree's for me. My all-time favorite is the grilled garlic steak. It is the best rib eye steak in Stockton. I order mine blackened (crispy outside) with the brown mushroom gravy that comes in a side dish. For sides, I order the garlic mashed potatoes. They taste creamy good by itself but remember the mushroom brown gravy I ordered for the steak? It's really for my garlic mashed potato's. A perfect combo. Consider this a Pro Tip. My other side is the green death pasta. You have to request it (another Pro Tip). I've tried pesto pasta everywhere and it's only this delicious at Garlic Bro's. The honorable mention is the grilled pork steak. The best pork steak in Stockton. The grilled lamb chops are good - just not as great as the other two entrees....but I'm a very tough critic when it comes to lamb chops. One thing to know at Garlic Bro's is they don't water down the mixed drinks. You definitely get what you pay for. And the price tag is actually pretty reasonable. Garlic Bro's can get very busy so come early for good seats and parking - because they don't take reservations.

Up front, I wanted to express why I'm giving this review a 5-star rating. It was entirely because of the Manager Betsy and of course the flavor of these ribs we had. I don't want to put this restaurant down or nit-pick the issues both my sister and I had. I wouldn't think that would be right of me and to the restaurant. Let's just say, we had issues and Betsy, God bless her, she took care of business and made everything right and even went beyond what we expected. Personal service is foremost what's important at any eating establishment, along with the quality of the food. The ribs and pesto pasta was to die for, and that's why I keep coming back. The three serves that were there attending to us, need better training. The food is always great and I will go back.

Some plates were worth it, others weren't, and at the prices they're charging the gaps were hard to ignore. The appetizers were the highlight of the meal. The deviled eggs were a hit at the table and went fast. The jalapeño on each one was a nice touch, though the heat varied depending on which egg you grabbed since it was just a thin slice. The salmon cakes were solid, nothing to complain about. My mom's ceviche tostada was loaded, the avocado was generous and fresh, but the ceviche itself lacked the acidity you expect from the dish and had very little shrimp in it. She said it felt more like a lunch item than a dinner offering, though two of them were filling. My mom's friend had the steak frites, which was the standout plate of the night: a lean cut with a rich mushroom béchamel, well cooked, and the frites were fried rather than what you might expect, but the flavor delivered. My dad's spinach salad was underwhelming, overdressed with a balsamic that was too sharp and overpowered everything else. My ribeye was the disappointment. At $65 I expected better. It was thin, closer to pounded than what you'd expect from the cut, came out medium instead of medium rare, and didn't feel substantial for the price. The baked potato was a basic side, sour cream and onion, nothing more. The broccolini arrived at room temperature, borderline cold, which was unexpected. The au jus on the side didn't add much for me. Service was attentive but veered into overdone territory, the kind of performative politeness that signals they want a good tip more than they're genuinely being warm. It was noticeable. Also worth knowing: if you're seated near the windows, the afternoon sun can be blinding depending on when you go. The atmosphere is genuinely nice and this place works better as a brunch spot than a special occasion dinner destination. I've had better meals here before, which is why I know they can do better. One practical note: if you're parking in the disabled spots near the leasing center next door, the sidewalk doesn't connect to the restaurant entrance. You'll need to go through the parking lot to get there.

My husband called in the order and I advised him to get there early as things have a tendency to sell out. 15 minutes later he arrived in the small strip mall off Don & Hammer, happy to find a disabled spot almost right in front. The area itself is a bit sketchy but okay during the abbreviated hours, mostly 11AM-4PM.. Closed Saturdays and most Sundays. The two big bags of wonderful smelling food cost $70, and I will describe and show photos of just what you will receive. A special note for the owner's son, Big D. The fact you noticed my guy was both elderly and disabled and offering help with the bags was beyond and above. He doesn't mention it but he's still a bit unsteady after hip surgery. My food rating is 4.5 but genuine kindness bumps it to a full 5! We started in splitting the chicken sandwich. I loved the fresh, lightly toasted bread and the fact this small business father and son team source locally. The roll was dressed with shredded lettuce and a couple ripe tomato slices. Two meaty slices of bacon added to the enjoyment, but what really knocked me out and made this such a fine value, 2 huge, (about the size of your palm and fingers), slices of breast with another half thrown in for good measure. The chicken benefitted from marinating then grilling just right. Missing in action? Any and all ranch dressing-I even looked for to-go containers but none to be found. Comparing notes with DH he said his bread was dripping with sauce to the point of being soggy...I guessed when the sandwich was upright on the drive home everything wet rushed to one side! Stuff happens. The size of these sandwiches is huge but we moved on to the Cowboy for dinner. Cut in two, I took the smaller side, closer to 5". I've deconstructed down to the point of separating out onions, mushroom and tri tip. We opted for Provolone for more of a cheesesteak vibe. Generous slabs of mild cheese helped hold the whole thing together. DH grilled tri tip and ribs for the Stockton Ports game for several years and knew what to look for. The consensus, fair amount of meat, cooked medium well, tender with good flavor. I specified BBQ sauce on the side, which was no problem. That way I could deconstruct my half Cowboy, could be a nurse thing! DH thought too many onions while I thought the ratio to meat was spot on. Sadly the mushrooms turned out to be 3/4ths of one button mushroom thinly sliced for my share. Both grilled onions and mushrooms add additional moisture and flavor.
