Business hours on google and on the door say it opens at 8. I got there at 8:30, there was no one there, and the door was locked. I waited outside for 30 minutes and called a few times. There was no answer and no voicemail box. By 9am I had to leave and find another place. I could have gone somewhere closer to my apt, but I made the extra effort to go here because of the good reviews. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. read more

It is a good feeling knowing that I will receive my casual clothes, as well as work clothes which are expensive to replace in excellent condition without burned buttons, etc. . Never again. After years of patronizing this place, I'll never go there again. Jenny is clearly overwhelmed and cannot handle this job by herself. My last straw was when a bundle of clothes were promised to me on a certain day and they weren't there. Not only were they not there, Jenny could not give me an idea on when the rest of the clothes would be available. No "sorry", no nothing. Just that I would have to come back for the rest of it. No offer of a discount on the order or something to make up for the fact that the error was theirs and, because they valued my business, they wanted to make it right. Nope. So I pushed Jenny on that and she reluctantly -- reluctantly, after all the money I've spent there and all the business that I've referred to them -- offered some pittance of a discount. It gets worse. When I came back to pick up the rest of the order one of my cashmere sweaters had a hole in it. And no, of course it was not there previously. Once again -- no apology, no NOTHING from Jenny. Never again. What these businesses don't seem to care about is that there are competitors on virtually every corner. Nobody HAS to use Primo Cleaners, especially not when it involves bad, unprofessional service. I highly recommend almost any other dry cleaner in the South Loop except Primo. read more

I love Jenny. And I used to love Primo Cleaners. I took my wedding dress there to be taken out an inch. (Not for my wedding...doing a wedding photo shoot in the city for a photographer friend of mine) I gave them the date and Jenny assured me it would be done the day before I needed it. She had the dress for a week. When I went to pick it up, she told me that it wasn't done. She said that the dress was too hard to alter, which is probably true. However my issue is NO ONE CALLED ME. No one called throughout the entire week they had my dress to tell me to pick up the dress and take it elsewhere. So, now I am hosed. I will not be taking anymore things there. I am stunned they didn't call me and left me in a jam within 24 hours of my photo shoot. read more

I came here one time before to get an alteration and was satisifed enough with the job, and it's right by my house. So I came again because I had a t-shirt that was way too big. Most people, I believe, would just get the job done. But the lady here insisted that I should just buy the t-shirt in a smaller size because it would cost more to alter than it would to buy a new one. This t-shirt was special though, and I was unable to get another one. So she gave me the best price she could for it, without me even asking for a discount. I was really impressed that she wasn't just interested in making money off me. It's kind of a small town feel in this big town of Chicago that I cannot help but appreciate. She is always so nice when I come in, and my clothes are done when she says they will be. I will continue to go come here for any of my dry cleaning or alterations. read more

I took a Dolce and Gabbana tuxedo, Hugo Boss tuxedo shirt, and a $1000 Marchesa dress for dry cleaning at this place and they COMPLETELY MESSED UP EVERYTHING!!! They dry cleaned the dress and for some insane reason decided to PUT PINS THROUGH THE TOP OF THE DRESS to hang it up!!!!! This is a $1000 dress and they put push pins through the most noticeable part where the breast line is. They basically ruined the dress and I will never ever ever be going back to this place. In addition, they DIDN'T CLEAN ANY of the stains off of the tuxedo shirt and told me "Sorry, there's nothing I can do" and made me pay for the fee anyways. I went home and 10min of washing with a little bleach and the stains were gone. This has been the most HORRIFIC experience with any dry cleaner I have every had. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANYONE. BE WARNED!!! AND ESPECIALLY DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING OF VALUE TO THEM as you may very well have the same experience that I did. read more

My friend was getting married and her bridesmaids dresses ended up being discontinued. Of course, mine was too small and I thought there was no way I was going to fit into it and would have to drop out of the bridal party. After a panic attack, I took the dress to Primo Cleaners for alteration help and she came up with an amazing solution and the dress now fits perfectly. She did a great job and in a timely fashion. I had a wedding dress emergency a week before my wedding. I needed it altered- and fast! Jenny was so nice and said no problem whatsoever. She had me try it on, made notes, and promised it would be ready in 3 days. When I went to pick up the dress it fit perfectly and it was very reasonably priced for alterations. I am very surprised by the negative reviews. Guess some people are just hard to please. I have been taking my dry cleaning to Primo's for years and have never had any negative experiences. The service is top notch and tailoring is superb.Did I mention timeliness? My clothes are always ready when promised. I always make sure to dry clean my Armani and Gucci suit here before an important event because they look, and feel brand new!! You definitely get a nice home town feel when you come to Primos. From jeans, dress shirts and suits, they can do it all. I have been and will be coming back here , as long as I stay in the South Loop area. read more
