This response is a disappointing example of poor leadership and customer service. Rather than taking any accountability, it's filled with deflection and excuses. To be clear, there was confirmation on my end--so please correct that misinformation. And yes, we were fully aware it was Mother's Day--that's exactly why we were there: to celebrate my mother. What became obvious during our visit was that larger parties were prioritized over smaller ones--and why should that be the case when I made my reservation over a month in advance. Regardless of the holiday or other events in the area, that has nothing to do with how my party was treated or the lack of professionalism we experienced. My mother--the guest of honor--had to step in and help your team figure out where to seat us. That shouldn't happen at any restaurant, especially one claiming to deliver quality service. I've been to much busier restaurants that provided far better service. Unfortunately, when I reflect on the experience, it also gave off racial bias--whether intentional or not, the disparity in how we were treated was noticeable. At the end of the day, this is about the principle of how your establishment treats people--and that's clearly something that's being missed here. No response is necessary. My fiancé and I went out for my birthday tonight and received recommendations to this spot! Lauren was our server and made our time here super memorable and nice! We ordered a margarita pizza, creamy polenta, calamari, pesto pasta and pork chop! Every dish was so good, we just couldn't finish it all. Went for happy hour with a couple of friends, which is a great way to enjoy a variety of menu items at a great value. The mushroom goat cheese pizza was outstanding, and the steak frites was delicious as well, though I would have preferred not to have the frites served on top of some sort of tangy sauce that made them a bit soggy. Next time I would ask to skip the sauce. The mixed salad with hazelnuts was divine...the dressing almost tasted like a lemon custard dessert! Our second time ever eating here and I'd give it 4.5 stars. There was four of us and we all loved our food. We had the polenta with Gruyere cheese to start and a roasted vegetable balsamic salad. I had the pork tagliatelle and it was great. My boyfriend had the lamb shank and really liked it too. Our friends had the salmon and the roast chicken; they liked their food a lot too. For dessert my boyfriend and I shared a bourbon-chocolate, flourless torte that was delicious. Our friends had a coconut layer cake and a sticky toffee pudding. That last one was the stand out. Sooo delicious. That with a bourbon neat would be delicious. Service was good but dinner was a very leisurely and long experience which we didn't mind. We'll be back again! read more

Semi busy Saturday night. 4 of us with reservation got a table close to the bar which apparently means that the bartender is your server. Greg floated in and out and seemed to try to handle more tables that he could handle...not his fault. Never a good sign when the server has to ask if you want to place a meal order when drinks haven't even come yet. Greg said the kitchen "forgot" my wifes order while our meals were done at our table...we waited and Greg said he would comp desert which we didn't really need. Greg came back with desert menus without asking so we ordered since we thought this is what he wanted to make up for the delay. Greg brought the bill at the end which charged for all deserts. It took me 10 minutes to track him down since he decided to disappear. He corrected the bill but was annoyed since there was an automatic 20% tip included. This is 2 x this year with bad service. We just hosted our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at Primo's and everything was AMAZING!! Planning the menu and venue logistics with Rebekah made it seamless and provided great guidance. The private room was perfect for the event and all the food was delicious. Rachel our server was wonderful and the food from the kitchen for such a large group was timed perfectly. One of our favorite go-to spots. Food is always tasty and the ambiance is relaxed and casual. Beverage choices are always spot-on. Service is impeccable. Sadly, last night, after looking forward to celebrating Valentine's Day for several weeks, we arrived (from 30 miles away) for our reservation and were directed to the bar. We knew it would be busy, which is why we made a table reservation weeks in advance. When we politely declined to sit at the bar, we were taken to the back banquet room away from the vibe that we usually enjoy in the restaurant itself. Food (salmon special and apps) was still killer and the service was amazing, but we felt pretty isolated on a special date-night out. We felt like they had oversold the restaurant and (for $240) that we should have been able to sit out front. Maybe they should have closed reservations earlier, so that those of us who made them, and confirmed them, early could get what we planned for....A miss. read more

We are meat lovers- I ordered the ribeye and hubby ordered the braised rib. I took 2 bite and stopped. I know I wasn't at Butchers House but my steak tasted like it was from Dennys.. very grainy, hard & chewy. And I think the chef forgot to season it. My husband's "braised rib" was glorified pot roast. It wasn't all bad though, the staff was AWESOME!! Nowadays, nice service is so hard to find. AND our sides & Appetizers were also delicious!! This is the first time I've been to Primo Grill in years! We decided to stop by for a drink and I was craving a salad. Yum. I loved the vinaigrette and the citrus dressing was very nice. My significant other ordered the truffle fries. They were really good, as well, and came with some sort of delicious ketchup and aioli. We decided we had to try the gruyere polenta because It sounded fabulous. It was really tasty, but I couldn't eat a ton of it. Fair enough. I loved the basil gimlet. I probably could have had a few more! I imagine I will be making these at home! All in all, everything was really good, the vibe was super chill, which I appreciate, and the happy hour prices are awesome! read more

Poor preparation for our Mothers Day reservation. They were not accommodating as our reservation was made over a month in advance. The owner was frazzled and unable to problem solve not wanting to inconvenience other reservations. We were told they usually put reservations for three at the bar or tabletop but clearly that wasn't true as we later saw parties of 3 seated at tables. It's not worth the 20 percent service charge for this low level service. Food was okay but not exceptional. read more

My girls and I had a 6:45 reservation on a Saturday night. Here's what we enjoyed: the salads were fresh, pizza and carbonara pasta was delish, the hazelnut brownie sundae was the perfect ending to the meal. Our server was attentive and kind. This restaurant is really cute and I loved the feel of the dining room. Unfortunately, we were seated in a back room near the bathroom. The meal was a bit pricey but the food was good quality. When in Tacoma I've been told to try Primo Grill. My husband and I snuck out for a nice dinner alone. Primo Grill did not disappoint. The ambiance is great- located right off 6th Avenue. For an appetizer we shared the meatball- delish. My main course was the ribeye with a horseradish cream sauce, au gratin potatoes, and the crispy Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were amazing- crisp with bacon- perfect! My husband tried the carbonara- his go too. He rated it a 4/5 for wishing for more bacon. My meal was a 5/5- perfect in every way. We topped it off with their amazing sticky toffee pudding. Fantastic meal- great service! read more

Wow this has got to be my favorite restaurant in Tacoma. The food is delicious the specials are chosen by what's fresh. The service is very prompt and always friendly. There is a real sense of care in all that work the floor.the menu has a good cross of everything one might want with gluten free options. The wine list is nice and cocktails are delicious. I must have walked past this restaurant 30 times over the years en route to my other 6th Ave favorites and never actually ate here. But tonight my favorites were closed, so I decided to seize the opportunity to try something new. I'm so happy I did! The menu is a combination of Italian classics and Pacific Northwest influence. There were too many things I wanted to try that will have to wait for another visit. And since they are early in the reopening phase, they were out of several items. My aperitif this evening was a black Manhattan made with 12 year Elijah Craig whiskey, Antica, and amaro stirred and strained onto a big rock of ice. Fantastic. The grilled vegetable salad with bitter greens and balsamic was a perfect light and healthy starter. The porcini crusted Alaskan halibut with roasted vegetables and citrus beurre blanc was outstanding. So tender and fresh--didn't want it to end! Capped it off with locally made pistachio gelato which was simply divine. I sat at the bar and was expertly taken care of by bartender Curtis with excellent service. This place was perfect for what we were looking for. I wanted somewhere that felt special on a Sunday night for a 10 year anniversary. Primo was primo. It's at great length of a place that feels casual while still feeling special. The service was great - so efficient at friendly. No weight, no attitude, the server checked in often. I did make a reservation, but it wasn't that busy on a Sunday night. It was a beautiful evening. They had huge window/doors that were up, adding to a really open-air feel to the restaurant. All the food was good a couple things were great ie a white, salmon special and the sticky toffee pudding. The food was amazing. But what brought everything over the top was the service. My husband ordered a drink. He ended up not liking the bartender came over and made sure that he knew what my husband liked to be able to create something for him that he would enjoy. Even when he is super busy making all the cocktails for the entire restaurant,he always makes sure we are well taken care of and makes every visit special. What a blast. Came in with my partner on a Wednesday evening without reservation and it was quite busy! We were seated towards the open kitchen at the back if we wanted quick seating so we took that option. Service was fun and inviting, and drinks were nice. My cup was a little sticky though. Appetizers were some of the best I've ever had, calamari is something everyone gets at every restaurant, but this one stands out the most. Mussels were fresh as could be, flavors complemented well. I had the seafood special of the day, which was a pan-seared cold smoked black cod. I've never tried black cod until this point and my life has changed forever. Exquisite. We ordered the rib-eye meal for me and the rack of lamb for my husband. The ribeye is what you'd expect (medium when ordered medium rare), as was the lamb. BUT! The sides! The sides stole the show, and I'm a sucker for some sides! They have THE BEST Brussel sprouts game on the planet. The sage gratin? Awesome. The horseradish aioli? Made by angels' hands. Would I go back? Yes, to try the pasta dish with pork ragu. Oh, and the rum cake thingy wasn't bad either. I rather enjoyed it. I think it was flourless? If so, best flourless cake ever. Brussels sprouts not the best partially covered with flavor .For the amount of money you pay it wasn't worth it. Appetizer was probably the best part of the meal the cauliflower bites. Customers service was not on top of it. Especially when you're forced to automatically pay 20% for a tip. They don't even have a tip line on receipt automatically just adds it in . If it was Cuervo bravo yes I'd be happy to pay that but no where near . We recently came here a few nights ago, it is nice that you can bring your own bottle of wine in for a small uncorking fee. I had the spaghetti carbonara and my husband just had Burrata and the clams or mussels (it was the appetizer). He thoroughly enjoyed his dishes and I mine. Definitely one of restaurants at the top of my favorites list. Great drinks, service, and all the food we had was so good....except the dessert. I asked if they made their desserts in house, and the answer was yes (except for the ice creams...understood). So we ordered the fruit hand pie, and the flavor was excellent and obviously made in house. The problem? The crust was mushy, inside super hot, could it have been microwaved??? Disappointing for sure. The dessert , especially if made on-site, is the last memory of a great meal. We will be back, but bummed about the last bite. read more

We had a reservation on a Saturday night so I understand it gets busy but when we only see our server (Rachael J) essentially twice: when she took our order and when she dropped off the check, an auto 20% gratuity on a $100+ bill was not at all deserving. On top of that our order was wrong and was only fixed when the expeditor took it upon himself to make sure we got what we ordered. Normally, I would write something like this as a one off but this was our first impression of a restaurant we were excited to try after recently moving to the area and it left an overall sour taste in our mouth (service-wise).
