Gino continues to offer the same services to "resolve" this situation. I am not comfortable having him "fix" it when he did such an awful job the first time. I do not trust him. Why would I enter into another agreement with him when he's diminished the situation and shown no integrity to deliver what he promised. He's upset because I posted at the one year anniversary that the $12,000 plus job he did still looks AWFUL. Imagine how I feel having to look at it 365 days a year. Beware. No joke, I probably say "I love our front yard so much!" at least once a day since the Primo crew did their magic. Then my wife answers "OMG, I feel better every day I drive up to our house!" Seriously, Gino and the Primo guys took a yard that we did not like, that had broken our hearts after trying and trying again to make it work. They took a rocky, barren yard and turned it into a colorful, delightful landscape that I cannot compliment enough. And the neighbors love it too! You definitely get what you pay for. The work they did, the care they took, the attention they paid was unmatched. They spent plenty of time consulting with us on exactly what we wanted -- took a trip to the nursery with us to pick out plants and scope out options -- but also were strong in their opinion on what would work best, and they were always right. When the job was finished, Gino came by multiple times to check out the growth on the plants, check the irrigation was working, and just to say hi. We were putting in a yard at a new-build site so we had to do everything from scratch. Initially I was working with a landscape designer and Gino was flexible in his willingness to work with them. He was really up-front about estimates and pricing, and explained reasons for various costs well. When that same landscape designer -- who was also, initially, going to procure our plants -- backed out last-minute, Gino jumped on it and helped enormously to make sure the plants were there on install day. I highly recommend Primo Landscape and Design. Long story short, we first made the mistake of going with an online company to design our yard. The design was a mess, incorrect dimensions, poor planting choices etc. Gino and the crew at Primo saved us! Gino took the parts we liked from our design, made adjustments and put a great plan together. Gino and his crew are friendly and hardworking. There was a lot of demolition that needed to be done and we had lots of hardscape, over 200 plants and lighting installed. We had a large project that included demo, concrete, installation of turf, plants and trees, irrigation, the construction of a pergola - the whole 9 yards (or rather, the whole backyard!). Gino and his crew absolutely crushed it. The crew: The crew arrived at 8 a.m. every day and worked diligently through the early afternoon. They're all experienced guys, and it's clear that they enjoy and take pride in the work that they do. The owner: Gino checked in with me at the start of each day to let me know what the crew was going to be working on. He talked through each step of the way, and made sure we were happy with what was coming next. For example, after demoing the backyard, Gino laid down all the lines for where the concrete, turf, and stage were going to go. He explained any constraints we had (e.g., tree roots), and then allowed us to make adjustments. From start to finish, we felt that Gino understood what we wanted and that he was really listening to us, and that is so important when you are working with a contractor. After doing research online and looking at neighborhoods nearby, the choice was Primo. I've seen their work and it matches our plans on how the landscaping should look. Primo does quality, professional work, and they make it easy and collaborative. We hired Primo to totally redo our backyard and to install a French drain. The backyard is perfect. Gino worked with us on the design, went to the nursery with us to advise us on plants, and hired a great team of subcontractors to do the work fast and well. I cannot stress enough how easy he is to work with, how trustworthy I find him to be, and how eager he is to do solid work. And thanks to the French drain, no flooding at all where there previously had been plenty! We had a great experience with Gino and his team from start to finish. We have a small, unusually shaped yard which limits what we can do, but Primo has given it new life! They switched our grass to a dog-friendly synthetic turf, built us brand new planter boxes and an arbor, added drip irrigation everywhere and picked out insect-friendly plants to work with all of our varying degrees of shade. What can I say....Primo is primo! I checked out other companies but Primo and their owner, Gino Sciandri, came out on top, particularly due to his design expertise and super flexibility in working with me on both my front and back yards. It was cost effective too. Gino was very hands on and no matter what I asked for, he said, sure, and where my suggestion really wouldn't work, he did a great job explaining it to me to where I felt comfortable with the decision. I can be a nervous client but I found I could trust him completely. Both yards were demo'ed except for the trees and a couple other things I like (he made the suggestion to demo, which I was not at all sure about, but he was right) and they put in all new plants, hardscape/concrete, irrigation, and the most lovely uplighting you will ever see. Here is a special note....I have an almost fullly blind dog who had the old backyard memorized and I was very worried that changing it would be hard for him to navigate. Gino totally got it however, (he also is a dog lover) so his plan worked for Zane too. His crew is really good as well - so nice and hard working. When I asked them if they could tweak something while they were in the middle of it, they did so with a smile. They, too, were very knowledgable about what would work best, while at the same time also being completely in sync with Gino.
