I live nearby this location and when I do order from here the sandwiches are good. However, some things to consider about this location: 1) if you order online the ready time will often be 30-45 mins. Which seems excessive when the place is usually never super busy and it's a sandwich shop 2) they often close up 15 mins or more early. 3) they shutdown online ordering an hour or more before closing time. This is especially true on days when they have a sale. The sandwiches are good but the service and professionalism at this location is not the best. read more

Put in order online at 6:30pm. It wasn't until I already paid that it it said pick up at 7:20pm. Would have cancelled if I could have but that wasn't an option. Got there around 6:50. No customers inside but they started my order when I walked in. Sat there for about 25 mins while they made 2 hoagies. Got home. They forgot my sides of pepper shooters and pickles. I also purchased a small potatoe salad. First bite, I knew something was off. Looked at the sticker. It was packaged 7 days prior! So that went in the trash. Both hoagies were basically all roll! So why it took so long to make is beyond me.I would never go to this location again. First bad primos experience I've ever had. $40 down the drain. it was good until it wasn't.... i've never had a bad interaction with anyone nor do I like to cause any type of problems/conflict between I tend to stay away from things like that I recently just ordered a sub from and I expressed that I was overcharged and the items that I had ordered on my were missing. I'm not sure if this lady was the manager, but if she was this establishment should be embarrassed to have her representing them the fact that you're gonna get a an attitude as soon as I walk in the door to address the issue and you still have an attitude with me who was just the person coming back to make things right. she was saying that I didn't pay and I walked out without paying which if I did, it was a honest mistake between me and doing tap. It was a mistake. Just like they made a mistake reason being why I came back. I wouldn't came back to and showed my face if I were guilty of doing something as such I don't appreciate being accused of stealing, and I don't appreciate being disrespected. I've worked in the industry my entire life, and I've seen industry standards. Today was an example of how not to treat your customers who support your local business, I will not be returning due to the confrontation between whatever the manager has going on or position is. I was extremely uncomfortable in this establishment. The customer should be heard and valued, not disrespected and accused. I wanted to do this 'behind the scenes' but you can't do that without a receipt number, and I don't keep receipts for sandwiches. The food is good, so good I'm a rewards member. I get messages several times a week about deals for rewards members. Yesterday I got a text from them, $22 for 2 hoagies. I take advantage of it, call it in, tell them I'm a reward member. I go to pick them up, and they charge me $29. I said no, I was offered a deal. The guy said too bad, I can't do that. I said not my fault, find someone who can. So he walks away dropping f bombs on me and gets some other person who also acts like I'm the problem, but who actually fixes it. Super slow service, I was getting take out from here and no one asked while I was in line for 10 minutes. Someone came in behind me and an employee from the back came up front and immediately asked them if they needed help and the person who came in behind me was getting take-out. I had to tell them that I was also there for take out and they finally served me. One person was in front of me and it took the other employee forever to take their order. So overall service was awful. I take the food home and I get sick from the turkey and provolone sandwich, coleslaw, mozzarella balls, or macaroni salad that I got. Never again will I go to the primo's in Claymont, DE. Looks like jersey mike's is a way better option now. This store actually makes me sick just thinking about it now. P.S. the guy who rang up my order had his face mask down around his neck the entire time I was inside and getting rung up. Yucckkkkkkkkkkk!!! Great place to get a great tasting hoagie to go! Parking is a bit uncertain as there is a lot behind the shop, but I couldn't tell if I was permitted or prohibited from parking there. I didn't get a ticket or towed, so I suppose it was a safe bet. There isn't a lot of room to park yourself in the store either with just a few pub tables with two chairs each. It wasn't bad, given that most were unoccupied on a weekday, but I could see it being a hassle if you didn't have somewhere to return to eat your meal as I didn't. Service was straight-forward, take the order, take the payment, call out the order, hand over the order. While there was certainly no disrespect or discourtesy, I can't say that anyone went out of their way. The store layout is clean and functional with large menu boards behind the counter and a TV on the far wall. The kitchen is open format and everything is easy to figure out. The hoagie was really good! I ordered the pork diablo and, while a little disappointed that there wasn't more heat to it, enjoyed the flavor and fresh ingredients. There are a number of options of kettle chips to go with it and bottles of Pepsi products in the cooler to wash it all down. At a very affordable price, this would make a great stop for a lunch on the go. read more

This is a great Primos. The inside is nice and clean, and, most importantly, it's located extremely close to my mom's brand new house across from Archmere Academy! There's a small parking lot around the back of the storefront, which I parked in. However, I don't know if this lot is actually for use by patrons of the businesses, or if it's a private lot. This is an example of employees killing a business. The hoagie I ordered online was good. Two employees were working. One didn't give a s#@t about the customer - read below. The other employee was marginally better. On June 5, 2021, I ordered a hoagie through the online menu. As I walk in the front door, an employee barks out something to me. I look up at him and he is clearly irritated. I don't hear him because of the road noise behind me. After the door closes, I stop, look at him again and ask him what he said. He responds by asking me if I have a mask - to which I say no. He then tells me that I cannot be in the store without a mask. Okay. I readily wore a mask during the entire pandemic. When I said that I though that masks were no longer required by the government he responds, again irritated, that corporate policy requires masks. Befuddled I ask him if I can pick up my hoagie without a mask. He initially says no!!! I tell him that I already paid for it and that I want a refund. At this point, I'm pissed. He turns around to another employee and asks what to do. I tell her that I just want my money back. This could have been handled so, so much better. The first employee absolutely didn't give a sh@t about the customer. Am done with this Promos. I can walk across the street to Claymont Steaks and get a great hoagie without having to deal with an intentionally rude employee. I love Primo's. This is the worst one I've been in. Both times I was there, my sandwich was made wrong and when I ordered it to eat in, it was wrapped to go. When I reminded them that it was an eat in order, they cut the sandwich and gave it back to me wrapped again, not on a plate. I won't be going back there again. read more

I don't even like hoagies and I so love Primo. We stopped by the "quant" Claymont location today for lunch where my co-worker frequents and is known by name. The 2 ladies who man the counter at lunchtime are very nice and funny. I got a (basic) Turkey wrap and he got a Sharp Italian wrap. Wow...We just ordered from Primos for dinner and it was disappointing. We ordered the Thursday special 3 small hoagies for $13.99. We got two meatballs hoagies in the order there was only two meatballs in each sandwich don't know where the cheese was and they changed there bread. Before the bread had sesame seeds and had a nutty flavor which we really liked. We don't care for the new bread they are using. Plus we ordered a Turkey Schwartzie and they gave us corn beef. I am sorry to say that we were very disappointed l. I suspect there is new owner/management. It had been quite some time since my last visit. Previous we frequently purchased here. In the past it was great! Late In October I purchased a NINNA and a corn beef Ruben. The eggplant was soggy. There were2-3 very slim pieces. The cheese was cut thick and wasn't very pleasant in flavor. The lettuce was white. I phoned and was told that was the way the instructions say to make them , by the manger. The Ruben was ok but the amount of meat was skimpy. We paid $18 + for these 2 sandwiches. In the past we were always happy with the seeded roll. Not the same this time. I'm wondering if there has been a change in acceptable quality to cut costs. read more

I have never in my life been treated so disrespectfully as a customer. I have been buying deli meats and hoagies at the Claymont location for many years and today was the worst experience I've ever had and will also take this to corporate. The 4 workers there were disrespectful, one of the workers used the f word towards me and recorded me as I waited for my receipt because I asked for a refund. The other worker was saying "oh Dave's gonna beat my ass!". This is the caliber of worker that is hired at this location. I am appalled and would suggest to everyone, find another location, you do not need to be treated in this manner. A female worker comes to the counter and informs me that there would be an hour's wait because they had too many orders to complete. All three of us (customers) were turned away. Even though I love these hoagies I have the following complaints about this particular location. 1.) all my co-workers and I wanted for dinner was Italian hoagies to the hospital where we work. It took a lot of work in order to find someone to go pick them up because they wouldn't deliver to us, even thought my one co-worker begged and told them how hungry we were. 2.) when the order got here, they forgot to put oil on two of the hoagies. 3.) they forgot to give us our hot, sweet peppers and long hots on the side.
