Maria was exceptionally nice and helpful in making reservations. Food was delicious and enjoyable throughout all the courses. The Picanha and Beef Short Ribs were my favorites of the Rodizio. My parents split a steak entree and the salmon - the restaurant was kind enough to split both entrees on two plates for each of them. Both servings were generous. Had an Old Fashioned and a Caipirinha - both were excellent. They also have an extensive wine and whiskey menu. Service was pretty good. I would say the only hiccup was the food took forever to come, which seems strange for Rodizio. But I attribute the delay to the tardiness of two folks in our party, and a little inexperience of our server. But aside from that, he did a good job. We got to meet the manager Tatiana, who was fabulous - you can tell she cares about her craft, and the owner Joe, who was exceptionally kind and friendly. My niece and his son apparently went to the same school, so it was truly nice to make the acquaintance. I love to support small business, and it doesn't get better than this. In the dining room, where we were seated, there was our table of two, another table of two and a table of three. The other two tables were at the end of their meals. Our server, who also greeted us at the door, was more interested in looking at his smart phone than seating us. He gave us the dinner menus, instead of lunch menus which was a sign of things to come. It was almost 1/2 hour before the server returned to take our order. At this point the two other tables of patrons were gone. We ordered a Wedge salad and French onion soup for starters. The Wedge salad was perfect, except for the large piece of Italian bread served with it which was charred, but edible out of desperation. The onion soup was TASTELESS and the cheese on the top of it was BURNT, blackened to the extent there was no mistaking whoever prepared it was not paying attention when they made it and had no problem sending it out to be served burnt. Against my better judgment, and further desperation, I ate the tasteless, burnt soup. For the main course, we had a turkey club and mussels Fra Diavolo. The "fra diavolo" sauce had no kick to it at all. They might as well have called the dish mussels in marinara sauce. The turkey club, which was ordered with no mayonnaise, had almost NO turkey on it ~ no exaggeration ~ there was only one thin slice of turkey on it! I should have sent it back immediately, but I took my first bite and then signaled for the iPhone obsessed server. I asked him for the manager and he panicked as if he did something wrong. I assured him the problem was with the food, although I should have reported him for his inability to put his iPhone down and do his job. The manager came to our table asking how she could help and I showed her the sandwich pointing to the lack of turkey. She agreed that the club sandwich was very much in need of its main ingredient -- turkey. She apologized and took my plate and said she would order me another. About 20 minutes later, our iPhone loving server returned with a new turkey club with the appropriate amount of turkey on it. We were offered no compensation for the first embarrassed turkey club which was almost sans turkey, not that we were looking for some type of compensation, but any type of gesture would have been nice. It has been years since we last ate at the Public House since moving from the area, but this will definitely be our last visit. I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone, even if the food were free. Be forewarned...you would have a more satisfying meal from a fast food restaurant!
