My family and I went to Primohoagies while walking up to the beach a few days ago, and I'm not sure if there were a bunch of people that called in their orders or what, but it took almost over a half hour to get our food. Gotta say though, it definitely was worth it to get the delicious food! I do wish it was a bit faster service, so do people normally call in their food before getting there? So Im goin to my gig with www.roberteric.com and since Im doin a stayover for road-trip to Florida and the TomsRiver Primo closed I figured Id get a Primo in Ocean City Maryland. This would turn out to be my last from this store. I order the Aldie with mayo, Oil&vinegar on the side, and hot cherry peppers. It was like I was speaking a different language. After the gig I get back to the room and the hoagie doesn't have ANYTHING I ordered on it ! ! ! ! NO mayo, NO oil & vin and instead of hot cherry peppers the put roasted red peppers on it like you would get on a pizza ! All this for just less than $14.00 which is quite a premium price to not get ANYTHING right on your order ! ! ! ! They are now on probation for LIFE ! Ordered hoagies and sodas first weekend in May Have always loved primos but this place was bad from the start were not greeted for several minutes they were not busy ordered sandwiches and sodas went to get Diet Coke and they were out out of all diet on fountain machine told girl and she told us to get bottles she then said oh we are out of diet bottles also and then basically said oh well drink what we have or lose your money no effort was made to fix the situation we get our sandwiches and leave get home and the Italian is nothing but ham and cheese and the corn beef had no coleslaw on it and also tasted like the meat was old. how can a restaurant be this disgusting and dirty seriously?? there are 40+ empty bread boxes all the time piled up in front of the outside windows with crumbs and seeds being ate by birds mice squirrels and chipmunks! then you go in and open soda cases all over the floor in waiting area which is a health violation as everything in a restaurant needs to be on shelves. they dont even organize the open cases just let them sit wherever. the open cooler with sides and salads looks like it hasnt been cleaned in years. what does the kitchen look like? plenty of more options in Ocean City that are clean and dont also cost $17+ for a damn hoagie. clean up this place! read more

Great Italian subs made any way you want them, with either mild or sharp cheese and Italian cold cuts. The bread is great and there are lots of other choices, including vegetarian subs, porchetta, and steak and cheese. We go over every time we're at the beach. read more

Great spot for to go sandwiches. I'm from NJ and in MD good bread is hard to find but this sandwich shop nails it. Plenty of options for everywhere one in the family. A little pricey for subs but the sandwiches are big. We like to order from their app and pick up since lines can be long in that little space (especially with covid) and then we enjoy these sandwiches on the beach or picnic in Northside park. Next door is a great local sports bar if you want a drink while you wait for your sandwiches or need of any to go drinks for the beach. You get 10% off with your primo receipt. read more

This was one of the best subs I've ever had! I was shocked by the quality and quantity of ingredients. A coworker told me to try this place and that I wouldn't be disappointed. She was right!! Great hoagies. Got the diablo Italian and it's loaded with meats and excellent roll. Went back and got the cheesesteak, another hit. Got it with onions and American cheese. Added long hots. They are serious hot and I love hot. They aren't shy about putting them on either. 2 really nice size peppers. So hot I had to wimp out and take them off. And this coming from a guy who sold hot sauces for a living. I bet everything on their menu is excellent. Great prices to. I would like to start just by saying I really like their hoagies and subs. The problem is with the service, and possibly with the system. I've had trouble in the past with long weights at this shop before, but I always blame them on the type of sub I ordered. So I thought this time I would be smarter and help them out as well, and call in my order ahead of time. I called in the order, the person on the other end was friendly and polite, and took my order perfectly. When I arrived to pick my order up about a half an hour later, I was a little confused when the register person handed me two bags of chips that I had ordered, and told me that my sandwiches were still being made. My sister who came with me to order a sub received hers in 5 minutes. After about 20 minutes of me waiting, I asked one of the register personnel to check on my order, and he came back with one of my subs. I thought okay they got the hot order out of the way, now it's just a cold cut it should just take 5 minutes. Another 10 or 15 minutes later, the mature personnel from the back knew we had been waiting for a while, and took my name and went and made my orders directly. The four or five registered personnel in the front, really didn't check on my order or seem to care at all that I had been waiting now 50 minutes for my order to be complete. I'm giving this place two stars, only because the food is good. Again, don't arrive anywhere near lunch or dinner, and expect to wait. Also, the food is rather expensive. We had just arrived in Ocean City, MD from Baltimore and needed to find a place to get something to eat. We found Primo Hoagies just blocks from where we were staying and hit the jackpot! They make 60 different fresh sandwiches (not counting variations) and have chips, salads, pickles, etc to accompany them. We opted for the regular size Italian hoagie. It was loaded with meat, cheese and all the accoutrements. We did carryout along with a number of people who called in big orders and there were also people eating in. This was a pleasant surprise. We recently stayed at an airbnb in the Montego Bay community and this was within walking distance. We called in an order and it was ready at the stated time when we went to pick up the order. I didn't have a chance to look at pictures or reviews before ordering and in looking at the pictures now, I guess my only question is why some sandwiches have the sesame on the roll and others don't. I don't remember seeing a choice on the menu but maybe I missed it. I had a philly cheesesteak and it had the sesame on the roll. The sandwich, don't get me wrong, was perfectly delicious and more than enough to share in the "whole" size, in fact it was more than enough for two people to eat. My only feedback to management would be to add a description in the menu for the whole size to help clarify. There is a bit of a price difference and can be misleading to think it is only a few inches longer than the primo (medium) size but it is more than double which explains it. A quick phone call took care of that and service when we arrived for pickup was pleasant. read more

Read all the good reviews and our experience is fair. I had the Italian hoagie and it was OK. Not a lot of flavor which struck me odd. The thing that really got me were the tomatoes. They were like hot house ones. OC is right outside of a farming area and no excuse for that. My wife had the Philly steak and liked it but it was light on meat. The rolls are great and that's a big plus. Another thing is they don't serve french fries, just salads. A little pricey for what we got in my opinion. read more

Passed by here on the way to the beach and a friend of mine insisted we stop. We ordered the Italian sub, turkey sub, mozzarella balls, macaroni salad and roasted red peppers. Everything was amazing. Fresh and delicious. 8 of us split the two 24" hoagies. The wait time however was a bit absurd. I was close to asking if we could get our money back we waited over 30 minutes for two subs. I walked into the North OC Primo Hoagies shop and saw there extensive sandwich menu, WITHOUT PRICES, but with sub sizes that they offered. I chose the Sharp Italian, full size, everything with hot peppers, no mayo; I later found out it was $20 plus change. What I got was a really nice house-baked sub roll (18 in. with sesame seeds) filled with watery ham, no cheese flavor, and so many sweat peppers (I didn't ask for) that there wasn't much Italian to speak of. If you want a big wet ham sandwich with a big price, Primo Hoagies is the place to go: I rate this 2 on a scale of 1-5, 1 being my homemade attempt, Subway being 2, Devito's a 3, and 5, the White House Italian in AC, NJ. Stopped in for a quick lunch after a day at the beach. We ordered the weekly special; some type of cold shredded pork with sun dried tomatoes and the mild italian. The Italian was tasty, nice fresh bread with sesame seeds. I didn't care for the other sandwich at all, guess cold pork isn't my thing especially when it lacks seasoning. The sandwiches were hearty and I'm sure they'd fare well sitting in a cooler on the beach. I was surprised by how much I liked the macaroni salad. Although it had a little too much mayonnaise, making it kind of wet, I found it be to flavorful and a nice addition to the sandwiches. But, I wish it had been a little colder. I found the service to be adequate, especially considering that it was fairly crowded. Overall, I'd say this place is definitely better than your average Subway sandwich. read more

We found this sub shop 2 yrs ago on vacation and on this year's return to OC was one of our top must do's. Staff is friendly, menu, options, SIZE and price are very clear when you walk in. 9 of us split 3 whole (24") hoagies: mild Italian, chicken parm and a meatball. The group loved all of them and are already planning to go back before we leave for home again! Fresh, fast, tasty and BONUS: was one of the less expensive meals we've had yet: Price for 8 adults plus 1 child to eat dinner was roughtly $66, we ordered to go and had beverages at the condo so this price is only for the hoagies. The first sandwich I ordered was the buffalo cutlet, which seemed to be a source of confusion because this person asked me what kind of chicken I wanted (the menu says chicken cutlet), then asked me what type of cheese (the menu says bleu cheese)...the next sandwich was the Turkey Schwartzie, I must have lost his attention again because I asked to add bacon, but when I got my sandwich...no bacon. One of the best cheesesteak subs I have ever had. I thought the first was just an anomaly, so I tried again the next day - second one was just as good as the first. Had another one on my last day of vacation - just as good as the other two. My family also tried other subs (turkey, ham, Italian and they said they were very good).
