Who's hungry?? Primos MX Kitchen brings a fresh take on an old favorite with inspirations ranging from the border of Texas to Southern Mexico. Check out three locations in Dallas (Hillcrest, Uptown and Downtown at The Statler), and the newest one at the River Walk in Flower Mound! We were invited to try out the menu at the new location. We were impressed to see over 60 tequilas on the drink menu, plus featured house cocktails (like the blood orange guavarita and raspberry hibiscus paloma shown here). Nosh on tacos, fajitas, other Tex-Mex faves and speciality dishes.

Came here for a late dinner with a few girlfriends after our original plans went downhill. Even though the whole night leading up to this was not ideal, finally ending up here made it all worth it! It was super cute and cozy inside. Also, all employees were wearing masks and social distancing was clearly in effect so that definitely put us all at ease. This location closes at 1:00 am on Saturdays and while we arrived around 10:30 and were informed that the kitchen closed at 11:00. So FYI - keep that in mind in case you think you're going to slide through here at midnight for a drunken late night snack after running the streets, NOT GONNA HAPPEN! Anyway - our server Cameron was so sweet and helped us get all of our orders in before it was too late! He was very gracious and informative and didn't make us feel rushed at all. I ordered the carne asada fries and they were DELICIOUS!! They definitely didn't skimp on the toppings and I really appreciated that. I also had the primo villa dip, which is basically a loaded queso with beef, avocado, pico de gallo, and crema! I completely forgot to take a photo but it was absolutely fantastic!! I had some left and it reheated wonderfully the next day. I'm so glad I got a chance to finally try Primo's, as it has been on my list for awhile. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back whenever I'm in the Uptown area!

Great place, thanks Yelp! Prompt, & kind service from the bartender. Had the Tortilla Soup & a Taco Salad. Both were fantastic! Great flavor & huge portions. Big bowl of tortilla chips & salsa to start which the salsa was delish!

Love it here! Taco Tuesday babyyyy. $2tacos (not for vegetarians though lol) Service was top tier! Ambience was nice a chill. It's quite noisy but it's cause everyone is happy from the good food lol Heaven the server is the sweetest and so attentive! She helped me with my difficult order lol and didn't make me feel like I was asking for too much. The music is good also. the fajitas and the beans are so freaking good my goodness!!! It came in a cute tower i was very pleased. Will I return absolutely

Met friends for Happy Hour last week and loved this place. We went on a Thursday which is $5 frozen drinks. My friends loved the frozen margaritas, but my favorite was the frozen pineapple mule. Carne asada fries and guacamole were also a hit. We sat at the bar and the bartender Mya was very informative and quick. We'll definitely be going back!

The presentation of the food wasn't so great, no was it as yummy as I expected it to be. The happy hour isn't really a happy hour...they just give half the food from the main menu at half the price. My drink (not pictured) was called "Ranch Water" and it definitely tasted like that...water. Overall was kind of disappointed with the experience. Also-from a cleanliness standpoint: the bartender touched all glasses from the rim and fingers inside. It made me not want to order more drinks.

Amazing food, amazing service, very strong margaritas . Will definitely come back! Ambiance was great, fast service. Was originally a little hesitant about coming because of the negative reviews, but I don't understand why they have them... I had the combination #1 and loved it. Get the Grand Marnier added on top of your marg!

Emily was a great host/manager/waitress! She listened to my feedback, especially since the "rooftop bar" Waterproof turned us away bc they wanted $75 per head in our group! Emily was the best host and made sure we felt welcomed at her bar. This is a manager that is out there doing the work next to her employees! Colten made me the best margarita with tajin

This place is delicious!!! Love the chips and salsa and the quesadillas were on point! We also tried the frozen pineapple mule which was to die for! The manager was nice enough to sneak us a dessert which was super kind - DO NOT MISS THE CREME BRULE CHURROS

Great location but The quality of booze in this place is very poor. Five feet tall bartender with an attitude of a skyscraper. Walking in to this place is like walking in to a boring Quinceñera with loud music and serving cheap liquor with a high price. We went back to mi cocina across to their second floor bar much much better!! Primos it's time to get you a real margarita machine.

My first time visiting Primos was definitely a success. My fiancé and sister came along with me as we embarked on $2 Tuesday! What's that you might try ask? Well, on Tuesdays, Primo's has this awesome deal of $2 margaritas!!! I was so happy because margaritas are my favorite drink. Once we got the drinks rolling it was time to pick some food. I got the carne asada fries. It's under the appetizer menu, but it could definitely be an entree. It was loaded with all the good stuff. I was so full from it I couldn't even finish. I definitely recommend checking out Primo's! It's a really cool spot in Uptown Dallas who know what it means to have a good meal to remember.

Wednesday is amazing delicious fajitas day! Wow! Presentation is awesome as well. Lisa has been so delightful the couple times we visited.

How much are the mimosas and what size? Thank you!

How often do they have music (loud events?) late into early morning hours...like 2am? Thanks.

Since the weather has been so nice lately, outdoor seating is super popular, so I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. The location is super cute and always packed. You definitely need a reservation or have to go super early to get a spot. There is valet parking as well as street parking, which can get a bit crowded. I've had a ton of different food items the years, but their fajitas are their signature dish for a reason! It comes out sizzling, fresh, and delicious. Do not pass up on the bone marrow sauce, it transforms the dish to beyond a 10/10! The salsas are always good and then tortilla chips salty and fresh. I start with a skinny margarita w a salt rim, which was good. Our waiter, Abraham, was great! He was very attentive and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We also order the ceviche to start, which was yummy! The crackers were a bit of an odd pairing for me and I stuck with tortilla chips, but overall delicious!! My friend ordered the steak quesadilla and thought it was tasty too.

We hung out comfortably and had a couple of drinks before heading out. The food is amazing!! Obviously every dish is meat based here and it's cooked to perfection. Here in Texas, chips and salsa are such a commonplace experience it's off-putting to pay for them. We ordered the guacamole and the chips and salsa come with it, so that was, I guess, better...but the guacamole was $16, so there's that. The salsa was tasty as was the guacamole, but again, for the portion it's really not worth it. We had the queso flameado, which was yummy and the flour tortillas are good! We split the sirloin and were underwhelmed. For a grilled meats place the steak was very under seasoned and wasn't giving us fresh hot grilled vibes. Meh at best, as were the rice and beans. We ordered elote as a side and it was really the best thing we ate. Service was friendly and efficient! Cocktails average $16ish. Again, for the prices we expected better.

Chris our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time walking us through the menu and explaining what made El Carlos Elegante so special. The drinks were perfect. My wife loved her Desert Flor while I thoroughly enjoyed my Modelo Micheleda. Her Surf and Turf one hitter was exceptional. I have to say my Crab Cake was just ok. It tasted a little pasty and very heavy on the bread. The Pulpo was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture and the sauce it was served almost had me licking the plate. The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. Typically Al Pastor is finely chopped and served in tacos and burritos, so this was a different eating experience for me. And of course it was delicious as well. We cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu.

That visit checked every box -- the food, service, ambiance, and overall hospitality were all exceptional. What really stood out to me then was the attention to detail. I had casually mentioned that one of my cocktails wasn't quite my taste, and Harry personally reached out afterward to say they'd gladly adjust it next time. That kind of thoughtful follow-up leaves a lasting impression and is exactly the sort of hospitality that elevates a restaurant experience. Unfortunately, this recent visit felt like a completely different restaurant. We decided to do a combination of à la carte dishes along with the Experience menu after being told this version would feature entirely off-menu items, which genuinely intrigued us since Ihad also done the Experience previously. At the start of dinner, we were asked about allergies and dietary restrictions. I clearly explained that I have a mango allergy and do not eat beef. Our server then asked whether I ate other meats, and I clarified yes -- and even specifically mentioned that if the machete dish was beef, please still include it because my friend could enjoy it and I really wanted her to try it. He confirmed it would be the sirloin version, so we happily agreed not to modify that course. So imagine our surprise when one of the first dishes arrived dressed with a mango vinaigrette. Thankfully, we barely caught him quietly mentioning "mango" as he set it down. We immediately looked at each other thinking, "Didn't we just discuss the allergy?" It was disappointing, but unfortunately also representative of the overall service throughout the evening. Our server seemed disengaged, inattentive, and often not fully listening. Empty glasses sat untouched, opportunities to order additional items were missed, and at one point we were simply handed the check without even being asked if we wanted anything else. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and ended up pouring it ourselves for most of the evening because our glasses were rarely refilled. I completely understand not leaving the bottle tableside if walkway space is limited, but repeatedly needing to get up ourselves to retrieve it felt out of sync with the level of service one expects from a Michelin-recommended restaurant -- especially at this price point. Then came the machete dish. Instead of the sirloin version we specifically discussed, we received the vegetarian potato version. When the server asked how it looked, I politely explained that we were disappointed because he had specifically told us it would be the sirloin preparation. At minimum, I would have expected another protein substitution given the earlier conversation about what I could eat. I'm also still unclear whether the Experience menu was truly "off-menu" as described, since several dishes -- including the halibut -- appeared familiar. Had that been communicated differently, we likely would have skipped the Experience altogether and simply curated our own meal. At the end of the night, spending over $500 while pouring our own wine, nearly being served an allergen we explicitly disclosed, and receiving dishes different from what was promised made for a deeply disappointing experience -- especially after such a phenomenal first visit. It honestly felt sad more than anything because I know how wonderful this restaurant can be. I'm not sure what changed in the last five months, but the difference was significant.
