I've been living in Dallas for almost a year now and have yet to find Mexican food as good as back home in Houston. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was incredible. Stopped by around lunchtime spontaneously looking for Mexican food in that area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walked in and smell and ambience screamed authentic to me right away.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered green chicken enchiladas, got some chips, salsa, and queso. Waitress was very helpful, food reasonably quick, and the enchiladas were perfect! Queso was good not great; salsa was delicious but not as spicy as advertised. They get one star for the customers service. The food was terrible, we wanted to eat some menudo Sunday morning so we decided to try this place. I ordered the large Menudo and a barbacoda taco my wife ordered a small Menudo and egg and sausage taco. The jalapeño salsa was good but the menudo tasted terrible. Did not have a good experience, communication problems with staff . Ordered a to go order of VEGETABLE quesadillas over the phone . Confirmed on phone the order TWICE for VEGGIE quesadilla . Upon arrival confirmed the order again TWICE for VEGETABLE quesadillas before preparation , only to get home and find nothing but cheese filled quesadillas Completely ridiculous. Let me begin by saying if I was rating this place on the food only it would have gotten 5 stars but the service and parking got it 3 stars. So the food is priced great! The food was delicious but I literally had to ask our waitress for silverware 4x's and to be honest that is a given to bring silverware a customer shouldn't have to assist for it. Back to the food and atmosphere it was a bit cramped inside but they do offer outdoor seating. It was my first time here but there was an out of service sign on the ladies restroom so my daughter had to go to the men's restroom which was nasty only to find out that the women's restroom was not out of service! So my advice to you is make a sure to come here with expectations to eat good food and be prepared to overlook the service and all a should be good!! read more

Decidedly disappointing food experience. I was excited to try this place near our new home, as there was mention of authentic Mexican in other reviews. The good: we had fine service, spicy salsa and the margaritas were tasty and strong. The bad...everything else. Hubby couldn't eat his chicken tacos because the meat was to dry and tough to chew. I have come here a few times due to the handmade flour tortillas. They are pretty good and are made fresh daily. Their breakfast tacos are the bomb. I had eggs with chorizo breakfast which was extremely good. Today I tried the Chile Relleno, this is why I only gave the restaurant a four-star. I bit into the chiller Riano which was better and full of grease. I got the napkin put it on top of the chiller Relleno and pushed down the napkin was soaked with oil. It was large the meat had a good flavor however with this much oil saturating the Relleno I really could not get into it. I would not recommend getting the chiller Relleno that's not one of their best dishes. Service is great people are friendly people are really inviting. read more

Extreme Let Down I was a regular until today. The portions were reduced drastically. The roasted salsa was watered down. The veggies and meat portions were generous and the rice was great as well. We also tried the menudo, it will do the trick if you are looking for menudo but probably not the best thing on the menu. Coming from Southern California where Mexican food reins supreme, my husband and l been dying to find a good spot here in Dallas. And Margaritas my friends hits the mark. This "hole in the wall" joint serves up some spectacular Mexican food. The tortillas are unrivaled in Dallas. Like I would go here for the tortillas ALONE!! The mole, delicious. Torta- awesome. Breakfast burritos, GTFO they're the best. The elote cart made all my elote dreams come true. This place has some seriously tasty Mexican food. I can't say enough good stuff about it. Some of these reviews say the service is bad but I disagree. Our experiences, the food has always come out in a perfectly reasonable time and the waitresses let us enjoy our meal. If you're in a rush you can pay inside after your meal, no biggy. And if you're looking for a Meso Maya "fine dining", wait on your every bite experience, well then go to Meso Maya ‍ that just means more tortillas for me. read more

Found this place on Yelp and very glad I went. We ordered the green and red chilaquiles and potato/egg tacos. The tortillas were homemade the potatoes were cooked to perfection. The beans on the chilaquiles plates were delicious and the sauces were homemade. Overall great experience. The restaurant is small and has outdoor space to sit down at as well. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and they were really really hot!!! And it's summer in Dallas so that made it a tiny uncomfortable.
