Grace was very knowledgeable about the menu AND the service she provided was fun and allowed us to have an amazing experience. While enjoying our meal, a big spill accident happened behind us. A great addition to CS/B! It's a cute wine bar with a nice selection of wine and good food. As with the Republic, the decor is done nicely and it has a elegant and cozy feel. Selection for wines by the glass is decent and the bottle selection was even better (some were pretty pricey). We had cheese board, mushroom arancini, grilled shrimp, daily special risotto, black spaghetti, and dessert along with glasses of wine. Everything tasted good but was pretty small and simple. For example, shrimp tapas was maybe 8 or 10 small to medium size shrimp simply grilled with butter and lemon. Spaghetti didn't have any protein. So they were great as tapas (with an exception of the mushroom arancini because there was only one and did not feel like a "tapas" to share and enjoy with friends) but didn't feel like a meal with a number of plates we ordered and $$ paid. Servers were nice but they had this "all three bartenders will be serving you" arrangement, which at times resulted in sporadic checking in (for example, someone checking on us right after someone else did). They could answer some questions about wines but did not appear to be too knowledgeable. It was pretty loud and we could hear every conversation of the couple next to us. They have a nice patio but the waiter/bartender did not know if dogs would be allowed. Overall, it is a great wine bar with good snack food. We personally like great bistros with good wine selections, so it didn't trump our favorite bistro across the street. But we will definitely come back. read more

In College Station solo on business. Good sign when a place is 3/4 full on a random freezing Tuesday. The Hilton hotel on University St. is half a block's walk. The gnocchi w/ smoked pork belly dish ($17) was amazing and perfectly portioned for one. I left feeling refreshed rather than bog-down full. Grace and Erica at the bar were very welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable about all the offerings. Comprehensive wine and cocktail list. Looked like 10-ish beers on tap. Every time I come here, I try a new plate and I am never disappointed! For food options, definitely try their Albondigas and dip the focaccia di Parmagiana in the left over sauce! The paella, smoked gnocchi, filet mignon empanadas and truffled mushroom arancinotto are all to die for as well. As for drinks, the Lady Primrose is very refreshing if you like gin. If you have room for dessert, their dessert drink Key Largo actually tastes like Key Lime pie and it's a must try! I can't wait to go back and try more of their food. read more

Just amazing! I am a huge fan of The Republic and have been dying to try Primrose Path. The first thing you need to know is that this is fine dining. You will spend money and you will eat fantastic food. The wine and beer are both very reasonably priced and Beer-wise they have more of a Belgium/German theme. I had 2 red wines - the Monastrell and the Cabernet Sauvignon and both were delicious! As most of the reviews state, food is tapas style. What you order will be a smaller portion that is meant to be shared, so you will order several items for your table. To give you an idea, my husband and I ordered the Cheese and Charcuterie Combination, the Truffled Mushroom Arancini, the Steak Pintxos, the Churros and this amazing Pistachio dessert that was off menu, and we left stuffed!! I can not recommend the items we ate enough. I am a huge fan of the cheese plate at Republic and I love how fun the combo board was here. If you are looking for a nice night out with a relaxed atmosphere, good food and good drinks, this place is a MUST! read more

Our first time at primrose path- we went for our anniversary looking for somewhere that might not be too crowded but had a nice variety. We ended up ordering 6 dishes plus the almonds plus two glasses of wine so added up a bill. However the food was delicious!! We also didn't realize that the owner was one of the people checking in on us but that was neat! We tried the calamari, fried goat cheese, bacon wrapped dates, fried mushroom risotto, crab cakes and the smoked gnocchi... all were very delicious!!! We loved how the calamari also had a few shrimp, mushrooms, and peppers in it and the fried was very crispy. The crab cakes were great- I liked how there was a lot of crab and not very much breeding- it was also a tad spicy but in a good way. My husband's favorite was the smoked gnocchi! It was very flavorful- had a great sauce to it. You can tell this place is owned by the republic because the food is up to the same standard. The inside is super small so not much seating but we sat outside on the patio which was quiet and enjoyable. I would definitely go back for a nice occasion or take friends coming to down that want to go to a delicious tapas place! read more

Outstanding first visit. We have been going to "new" Republic (and old) for years. This place is attached to "new" Republic. We are kinda of kicking ourselves for not visiting here before tonight. We have been once and tried to go again last night. We liked it the first time, but this time, after I checked their hours online, we were disappointed to drive up on a Friday night to see they were closed for a private event. I went back and checked again, and there was nothing on Facebook or their website that I saw to let us know they were not open. Thought about Republic but it already looked pretty crowded, so we ended up driving around for another option. I like to feel welcome when I walk into a restaurant, not like they are doing me a favor serving me. The food was very expensive for tasting mediocre.
