After trying Prince St Pizza in NY, I ran to check out the Costa Mesa location as soon as it opened. It's along busy CA-55N, but there's a large parking structure right next to the shop. There's no seating inside, but it definitely gives off a classic NY pizza spot vibe. To this day, the Naughty Pie is still my favorite. The whipped ricotta is heavenly and pairs perfectly with the spicy vodka sauce. The hot honey really ties it all together and it just wouldn't taste the same without it. And the crispy pepperonis filled with little pools of oil are such a guilty pleasure. Their pepperonis are also thicker which makes it feel more substantial in terms of bite and protein. I recently placed an online order for three pies a few days before a party, and everything was ready right on time. The double cut option is convenient for large gatherings if you have tons of food. Every flavor was a hit! Also love that they're open late at night for a pizza run. read more

I have been to other locations and really liked the pizza, so today decided to try this one while I was in the area. This one is located at Triangle Square, so parking is inside a shared structure. A rarity with parking structures is this one is free! It was easy to find parking and I walked around to the storefront with ease. This location is small; there is no seating, not even outside, and the hallway leading to the restroom was blocked off. You can order pizza to go and that's it. I ordered a slice of the Margherita, and decided to try their "not ranch". I usually only like ranch with pepperoni pizza sometimes but this was really just to taste the sauce. Service was friendly; I was immediately greeted by a friendly cashier and she offered to help with any questions I may have. I only waited maybe 5 min for my slice as she heated it up. Finally, it was pizza time. I ended up eating in my car, which I do much of the time anyway so no big deal. The sauce was garlicky and tasted reminiscent of ranch without truly being ranch. It's more of an aioli. Good, and would probably be nice with their pepperoni pizza. The pizza itself was underwhelming. It was warm and the crust was thin and crispy. The pizza sauce tasted a bit sweet and acidic, but wasnt the way I remember it. It was just OK. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, or maybe today was an off day. Who knows, but when there are so many pizza places everywhere, there is a ton of competition and this one didn't wow me. Wonderful place to get creative and decadent pizza by the slice. The crust is the best around. This location is relatively new. I have eaten at their West Hollywood location and it was 10x better. The pizza is still amazing but the technique understandably takes a lot of time. Overall I loved the Mushroom pizza, you can taste each individual ingredient very vividly. It felt healthy and well put together. The Vodka slice is delicious. I would love to be able to buy that sauce separately! The Marinara was also good. I liked the simplicity. Was so happy to hear that there is a Prince Street location in Costa Mesa. This was my favorite pizza I tried when I was in New York and now it's close by! The naughty pie is my favorite! Thick crust, cheesy ricotta goodness, spicy thick pepperonis, vodka sauce, and honey drizzled on top. Amazing! The staff working there were efficient as our food was ready pretty quickly. There isn't really anywhere to sit inside, although there are some benches right outside. It's more of a pick up spot. I also noticed that they have a good lunch combo option- 2 slices and a drink for $12.99 which I will definitely try next time. There is a parking structure right next to their location. Before you go, just know that there isn't too much seating/space for larger groups, though there are some blocks out on the sidewalk where you can sit and enjoy a slice. If you're hunting for some of the best pizza in Costa Mesa, Prince Street Pizza is absolutely in the conversation. Personally I'm a New York pizza person myself, and if we're getting ultra-specific, I love New Haven style. Yes, I've watched enough David Portnoy pizza reviews to qualify for a minor degree. I didn't even know what New Haven-style pizza was at one point, and now there's no going back. That being said, Prince Street Pizza is probably the best you're going to find around here. Their St Lois spicy Pepperoni is AWESOME! The crust hits, the flavor hits, and the slices mean business. Best of all you heat it up the next day in the air fryer and it's crispy and crunchy just like it was when you brought the box home. Now for the tragedy: this place is expensive. Like "let me check my banking app before ordering a second slice" expensive. And somehow, despite charging premium prices, they do not offer ranch. No ranch. Zero ranch. Apparently they've decided their pizza is too sophisticated for such peasant luxuries. Meanwhile, some of their slices would be elite with a little ranch. Note to the upper management, please swallow your bougie pride and sell us ranch, in fact make it in house and make it the best ranch we can find an area. If you can make pizza this good then I'm sure you can make a really good ranch to go with it. For the record, we pick up a few pies every couple of weeks for all the boys at the shop. Again, it's not cheap, but it is really good. Oh and by the way, this high end bougie pizza offers most of their delicious live n a box sell most of their pizza by the slice, which helps soften the financial blow. I highly recommend coming with a group so you can mix and match slices -- everything looked amazing. The standout for me was the Naughty Pie slice. Worth the hype! For newcomers: the plaza has limited garage parking since it's shared with the Nightclub and other restaurants. Been wanting to try Prince Street ever since I saw viral videos of their hot pepperoni slice! Their location is prime, right below Time nightclub and close to nearby bars in Costa Mesa. They were busy at 10pm on a Friday night, but we didn't have to wait long. We tried their meat lovers and prince perfection slices. Both were delicious! Finally got to cross this place off my list the other day. I never got to eat at the OG location in NY but I have tried Prince Street's LA location in the past, which I remember being delicious so I had high hopes for the Costa Mesa location. I ordered the Oakey Smokey, Mercer Margherita, and the Spicy Spring. All 3 slices were delicious but my favorite was the Oakey Smokey - a slice that was true to its NY roots with it being thin, crispy, and bursting with flavor. It was a twist on the classic margherita with its smoked mozzarella which added depth to an already great amalgamation of flavors and ingredients. All in all, I was definitely happy with how the pizzas came out and tasted. Unfortunately, the prices are a bit out of control with each slice costing $7 a piece. I had paid $44 for 6 slices. I could go to my other favorite pizza spot and get 3 full slices + a fountain drink for $11 which is essentially half the price AND with a drink. Pizza should never be this expensive.... read more

We ordered three Sicilian Soho Squares: the Naughty Pie, Meat Lovers, and Four Cheese, as well as one Neapolitan, the Oakey Smokey. The square pizzas were the clear winners, while the Neapolitan was skippable (or maybe just not their best that day). The square crusts were beautifully done--crispy on the outside, soft and airy inside, and baked with real care. The Meat Lovers was milder than expected, but the Naughty Pie shined with its balance of spicy honey and sweetness. The Four Cheese was our favorite, rich and garlicky with a perfect cheesy punch. The Oakey Smokey, unfortunately, fell short; it was soggy and uneven, more of a sloppy mix than a pizza. Still, the quality of the ingredients and those stellar square slices make this place worth returning to. There's limited indoor seating, mostly a small bar table by the door, but it works. Two can get you full easily too. My picks this time were the the naughty pie and sunset pizza. Both had hints of sweetness and spicy in them but different tastes. I liked the sunset pizza a little bit more. I generally love meat pause but the sunset's texture and consistency made it for me. Next time I'd like to try the thinner style. Cousin and friends went brewery hopping down in Costa Mesa till a friend suggested we check this place out! The parking itself is inside a structure and some of the spaces are cramped but was fairly easy finding a spot. We walk in and i was already loving the vibes of the place! Nice chill music along with hustling and bustling workers. They had the pizzas displayed at the front and they all looked delectable! I opted to get a slice of the naughty pie which was highly recommended and their meat lovers. They also recommend to get it extra toasted so it comes out crispier which I would recommend too! Couple minutes and the slices came out. There isn't really a sitting area but out in the front there were some planters where we sat and ate. First off both slices were very delicious! The meat lovers had very delicious slices of pepperoni and sausage. The naughty pie came with hot honey on it and wow that's a game changer. Pizza itself was crispy too! Very delicious crust! Unfortunately, even with the extra toasted the slices were really cold to barely lukewarm. That was somewhat disappointing. Both slices plus a drink came up to around $21. With how thick the slices are, it was well worth the value. The workers were real cool and the lady upfront that helped us was awesome. Unfortunately with the cold pizza I'd have to knock points. I went on a Monday night, and there were only 2 other people in there, so we were lucky we got to indulge in this without a long wait. There are no dining tables or chairs in there, so we went to our car to enjoy these pieces of heaven. My favorite and the most popular one is "The Naughty Pie" because it is the perfect balance of sweetness coming from the honey, not overly rich and savory from the proteins (compared to the Meat Lovers and Spicy Vodka), and the cheese complements everything about it. The crust on this pie is what I live for...I mean, the sauce, toppings, and cheese were great, too, but I love that super crunchy texture when biting into this. It's not overly greasy, not cardboard-like, and it has that freshly baked sourdough exterior, which I love and would die for. Mmmm, I am just salivating now just talking about it lol. Although for some (elderly with dentures or kids with small teeth/mouth), it could be too difficult for them to bite into and chew, which I can see as well, but it does its purpose and it holds everything so perfectly in place. Every bite was a symphony of rich tomato sauce, savory pepperoni, and sweet cheesy galore. This was a delightful treat, and it's definitely worth checking out if you're a texture-like person like me. My dumb ass is from NY and for some reason didn't make the connection that this is the same Prince Street Pizza from home. What brought me in was Too Good To Go where I grabbed two surprise bags. Each bag had two square slices and one round slice. Except maybe a few excellent grandma pizzas I've had in NJ, I just typically don't prefer the square/sicilian pizzas. I find them too bready and greasy. Not to say they aren't delicious, I just prefer the thinner NY style round pies. No exception at Prince Street. I'm always on the search for good pizza. Since Prince Street Pizza was on the way home, I decided to get a whole cheese pizza for myself. I ordered through the website, and it was ready before the estimated time. It came out piping hot and was burn your tongue hot even after 10 minutes. It was glorious! This is a standard pizza. Regular amount of crust and sauce. The dough was a little thick for my taste and there was more cheese than I normally want. So much cheese that when folded it was molten and slide around the slice.
