That's right, this Costa Mesa joint is straight from NYC! They traveled 3000 miles, but the pizza's fresh as can be! It's got a big kitchen that's pretty much doing togo only, right on Newport Boulevard at Triangle Square. It's perfect for a quick slice or to grab some pies for the party nearby! Brandon and I got 2 slices each, and they crisped it up to order! The variety is awesome; don't just take our word for it, look at the glass cabinet! They're known for their square pies, so maybe you oughta come grab a slice or two of those guys. The crusts are a little thicker, crunchier, and more tender than your average NY round pie. We went with a couple of tried and trues, and something a little different too. Check out the naughty pie and meat lovers, and on this particular day, they had some collab pizzas that we tried too! This one had charcoal in it, so it looks crazy, but it was so good! Great cook on the crust! I think most people would find something they like here. The complexity is surprising for how simple the pizzas look! And...they consider ranch blasphemous here, so it's a good thing they've got this! It's... "Not Ranch." Yup. That's what they call it. I didn't get to try this in NY and luckily we got one here and I finally stopped by. There is a parking structure which is nice. And I love a place that gives me slices of pizzas. I ended up getting the HOUSTON JALEPENO-Fra Diavolo Sauce, Pepperoni, Fresh Mozzarella, Jalapeños, Zab's Hot Honey, Pecorino Roman. I loved this pizza. I was craving some good pizza, and just happened to be right by Prince Street Pizza in Costa Mesa! I've been to three of the six California locations and they are always amazing. Their pizza always hits the spot, and this visit was no different. Parking: There's a free parking structure located near 24 Hour Fitness, so parking is pretty convenient. It's nice being able to enjoy Costa Mesa without worrying about paying for parking. Service: The team is sooooo nice! Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and made the experience even better. It's never loud in the location and always a great experience for me. Pricing: The prices are fair $6-$8 for Individual slices and around $30 for a whole pizza. You're getting great flavor and satisfying portions, so it feels worth the price. Food: AMAZING! The pizza was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I wanted. Prince Street knows how to make a good slice, and every bite was worth it. Overall: I love Prince Street Pizza! The lack of dining area is mildly annoying but their rectangle shape pizza that you can order by the slice are creative but also tasty.

Had such a great experience at Prince Pizza! The bun was seriously one of the highlights--soft, fresh, and perfectly chewy with just the right texture. The Sunset Pizza was also really good, with great flavor and a really satisfying combination of ingredients. Service was quick, friendly, and efficient, which made the whole experience even better. I have been to other locations and really liked the pizza, so today decided to try this one while I was in the area. This one is located at Triangle Square, so parking is inside a shared structure. A rarity with parking structures is this one is free! It was easy to find parking and I walked around to the storefront with ease. This location is small; there is no seating, not even outside, and the hallway leading to the restroom was blocked off. You can order pizza to go and that's it. I ordered a slice of the Margherita, and decided to try their "not ranch". I usually only like ranch with pepperoni pizza sometimes but this was really just to taste the sauce. Service was friendly; I was immediately greeted by a friendly cashier and she offered to help with any questions I may have. I only waited maybe 5 min for my slice as she heated it up. Finally, it was pizza time. I ended up eating in my car, which I do much of the time anyway so no big deal. The sauce was garlicky and tasted reminiscent of ranch without truly being ranch. It's more of an aioli. Good, and would probably be nice with their pepperoni pizza. The pizza itself was underwhelming. It was warm and the crust was thin and crispy. The pizza sauce tasted a bit sweet and acidic, but wasnt the way I remember it. It was just OK. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, or maybe today was an off day. Who knows, but when there are so many pizza places everywhere, there is a ton of competition and this one didn't wow me. Got a slice of The Original Prince. Pretty good pizza. The crust had a crispy edge. The sauce was balanced but was a little too sweet for my taste. Service was very friendly and prompt. After trying Prince St Pizza in NY, I ran to check out the Costa Mesa location as soon as it opened. It's along busy CA-55N, but there's a large parking structure right next to the shop. There's no seating inside, but it definitely gives off a classic NY pizza spot vibe. To this day, the Naughty Pie is still my favorite. The whipped ricotta is heavenly and pairs perfectly with the spicy vodka sauce. The hot honey really ties it all together and it just wouldn't taste the same without it. And the crispy pepperonis filled with little pools of oil are such a guilty pleasure. Their pepperonis are also thicker which makes it feel more substantial in terms of bite and protein. I recently placed an online order for three pies a few days before a party, and everything was ready right on time. The double cut option is convenient for large gatherings if you have tons of food. Wonderful place to get creative and decadent pizza by the slice. The crust is the best around. This location is relatively new. I have eaten at their West Hollywood location and it was 10x better. The pizza is still amazing but the technique understandably takes a lot of time. Overall I loved the Mushroom pizza, you can taste each individual ingredient very vividly. It felt healthy and well put together. The Vodka slice is delicious. I would love to be able to buy that sauce separately! The Marinara was also good. I liked the simplicity. I really wanted to like Prince St. Pizza, but it just wasn't worth the price. It's seriously overpriced, and the pizza wasn't worth the price of admission. The deli style pepperoni was pretty off-putting and didn't have the flavor or texture I was expecting. On top of that, there was barely any sauce. It ended up tasting more like cheesy bread with toppings than an actual slice of pizza. For what they charge, I expected a lot more flavor and a much better balance of ingredients. Everyone NEEDS to try Prince Street Pizza! There's a reason why it's so popular in NYC. Highly recommend trying both their square and slice pizzas. Love they heat everything up, so it tastes fresh and it's worth the wait if there's a line. The pepperoni is one of the best I've ever tried and love the hot honey they put on some of the pizzas. I don't recommend their "not ranch" sauce if you're not a fan of Hidden Valley ranch since they taste similar. There's a free parking garage that's less than a 5 minute walk from the place. While the pre-cooked slices were briefly re-heated in their oven, they probably could have used more time to get to the desired temperature I remember enjoying. When walking in we were greeted by the staff. They have the pizza lined up in the counter for you and a bathroom down the hall. Was so happy to hear that there is a Prince Street location in Costa Mesa. This was my favorite pizza I tried when I was in New York and now it's close by! The naughty pie is my favorite! Thick crust, cheesy ricotta goodness, spicy thick pepperonis, vodka sauce, and honey drizzled on top. Amazing! The staff working there were efficient as our food was ready pretty quickly. There isn't really anywhere to sit inside, although there are some benches right outside. It's more of a pick up spot. I also noticed that they have a good lunch combo option- 2 slices and a drink for $12.99 which I will definitely try next time. There is a parking structure right next to their location. The Houston jalapeno was delicious and spicy with some sweetness from the hot honey. The margherita was probably my favorite, perfect balance of all the Margherita flavors. My brother brought this pizza over last night and it was literally one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Instead of square pieces they double cut it, so each square piece was cut in half into a triangle. Between the 5 of us eating, we all got around 2 slices and had 2 leftover. The pizza is $45 which is kinda expensive for a pizza but it tasted SO good and it was good for 5 people, so not bad. The vodka sauce is super creamy, not dry at all. The pepperonis are nice and big and curled up perfectly. There's spots of ricotta cheese on top which I was scared about since I don't normally like ricotta but it was SOOO good. It also had hot honey drizzles over it which was the perfect addition. If I'm ever in the Costa Mesa area again I'll definitely get this! read more

I highly recommend coming with a group so you can mix and match slices -- everything looked amazing. The standout for me was the Naughty Pie slice. Worth the hype! For newcomers: the plaza has limited garage parking since it's shared with the Nightclub and other restaurants. Finally got to cross this place off my list the other day. I never got to eat at the OG location in NY but I have tried Prince Street's LA location in the past, which I remember being delicious so I had high hopes for the Costa Mesa location. I ordered the Oakey Smokey, Mercer Margherita, and the Spicy Spring. All 3 slices were delicious but my favorite was the Oakey Smokey - a slice that was true to its NY roots with it being thin, crispy, and bursting with flavor. It was a twist on the classic margherita with its smoked mozzarella which added depth to an already great amalgamation of flavors and ingredients. All in all, I was definitely happy with how the pizzas came out and tasted. Unfortunately, the prices are a bit out of control with each slice costing $7 a piece. I had paid $44 for 6 slices. I could go to my other favorite pizza spot and get 3 full slices + a fountain drink for $11 which is essentially half the price AND with a drink. Pizza should never be this expensive.... read more

Stopped by for a few slices of the square pies and the New York slices. Unfortunately they were out of one of the slices I wanted, the Prince Perfection, so I decided on a slice of the Sunset Square, the Spicy Spring, and two slices of the Old School New York style. The New York style slices definitely reminded me of eating pizza in NYC, the crust having that signature chew and thinness. The square slices were awesomely crispy, with a great cheese pull on the Spicy Spring in particular. On July 22nd, I took my family to Prince St. Pizza in Costa Mesa as a surprise, timed with their Avenged Sevenfold/Good Charlotte promo. We ordered one of each promotional pizza, extra slices, garlic bread, and drinks. The staff were young and clearly enjoying themselves, but weren't paying much attention to customers. After about 40 minutes we got our order, asked if everything was there, and were told yes. There wasn't really space to eat in, so we took it home -- and found half our order missing. My sons never got their food. I called immediately. They apologized and said a manager would call me back with a refund. No call. I called again a few days later -- no manager on duty, they'd "leave a message." No callback. Two weeks later, driving past the store reminded me I still hadn't heard anything, so I called a third time. A supervisor took my card number, order amount ($130+), and date/time, then said she couldn't even find the order. She promised a refund by end of day. Nothing. Days after that, I got a call on a Sunday evening -- while walking into Disneyland -- from a manager who only knew I wanted a callback. I gave her all the details again and explained I'd been given the same "refund by end of day" promise repeatedly. I had to go through security and told her I'd need to hop off; she said she had what she needed and would call the next day with the refund. It's now August 13th. Still no call, still no refund. I don't even know how the food tasted, honestly -- the service overshadowed everything and left a bad taste in my mouth. Three weeks, four staff members, and multiple broken promises later, I still don't have my money back. I can't recommend this location. read more

Before you go, just know that there isn't too much seating/space for larger groups, though there are some blocks out on the sidewalk where you can sit and enjoy a slice. I ordered the Spicy Spring and Naughty Pie - the Naughty Pie was a standout by far, with its spicy vodka sauce. They captured the flavors wonderfully with that slice - highly recommend. I love NYC PSP, Here in CA I went to one of the LA locations, San Diego and this location and its been meh both times, the reheating here at this location had been bad both times. They burned the bottom and kept quiet about it and when I got my slices home it was nasty. Yet I came in again and this time we got Alexis (I believe that was what her name was, she was a young black women) she came with the A1 customer service, got our slices, reheated them fast and perfect. She mentioned about the cookies freshly coming out, of course I had to after that! We were talking about a slice I got for my wife but wasnt on the regular menu, she showed me where to find it and told us whats on it! She was great. Really redeemed it for me. Customer service in the US is dead, corporate management has knee capped it with bad staffing and over working and under paying good people and promoting the bad ones. We ordered three Sicilian Soho Squares: the Naughty Pie, Meat Lovers, and Four Cheese, as well as one Neapolitan, the Oakey Smokey. The square pizzas were the clear winners, while the Neapolitan was skippable (or maybe just not their best that day). The square crusts were beautifully done--crispy on the outside, soft and airy inside, and baked with real care. The Meat Lovers was milder than expected, but the Naughty Pie shined with its balance of spicy honey and sweetness. The Four Cheese was our favorite, rich and garlicky with a perfect cheesy punch. The Oakey Smokey, unfortunately, fell short; it was soggy and uneven, more of a sloppy mix than a pizza. Still, the quality of the ingredients and those stellar square slices make this place worth returning to. There's limited indoor seating, mostly a small bar table by the door, but it works. If you're hunting for some of the best pizza in Costa Mesa, Prince Street Pizza is absolutely in the conversation. Personally I'm a New York pizza person myself, and if we're getting ultra-specific, I love New Haven style. Yes, I've watched enough David Portnoy pizza reviews to qualify for a minor degree. I didn't even know what New Haven-style pizza was at one point, and now there's no going back. That being said, Prince Street Pizza is probably the best you're going to find around here. Their St Lois spicy Pepperoni is AWESOME! The crust hits, the flavor hits, and the slices mean business. Best of all you heat it up the next day in the air fryer and it's crispy and crunchy just like it was when you brought the box home. Now for the tragedy: this place is expensive. Like "let me check my banking app before ordering a second slice" expensive. And somehow, despite charging premium prices, they do not offer ranch. No ranch. Zero ranch. Apparently they've decided their pizza is too sophisticated for such peasant luxuries. Meanwhile, some of their slices would be elite with a little ranch. Note to the upper management, please swallow your bougie pride and sell us ranch, in fact make it in house and make it the best ranch we can find an area. If you can make pizza this good then I'm sure you can make a really good ranch to go with it. For the record, we pick up a few pies every couple of weeks for all the boys at the shop. Again, it's not cheap, but it is really good. Oh and by the way, this high end bougie pizza offers most of their delicious live n a box sell most of their pizza by the slice, which helps soften the financial blow.
