What went well on my last visit everything! Service is excellent and friendly. The restaurant is immaculate and the presentation is wonderfull the clean crisp white table clothes and napkins, and the table setting. Then you get soup, bread which tastes great, and a meatball appetizer. Then comes your main course, I've tried several items so far as I work my way through their menu. The steaks are excellent and taste phenomenal, like to find in the loop. Yes it's a little pricey for Beecher it's more like eating in the loop, but that's because their food is the same quality and taste as the famous restaurants downtown Chicago, so I didn't mind paying the higher costs. It is worth it!

Chateaubriand for 2- we split it into 3 portions and this is the third portion!

The fried chicken wings were also delicious: crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Our servers, Jordan and Ashton, were spot on the entire time -- timely, professional, polite, and accommodating given the circumstances. Now for the rest. The brunch menu and pricing were a bit ridiculous. When our group first arrived, we were told there were no fried options available, yet later during the meal we noticed other tables receiving fried food -- which is ultimately how we ended up getting the chicken wings ourselves. The food came out sporadically, and some people in our party never even received what they ordered. The restaurant was not particularly busy, so it honestly felt more like poor execution than being overwhelmed. The music was nice in the background, and the drinks were great, but overall the experience was disappointing -- especially for a table celebrating three generations of mothers on Mother's Day. When we addressed the issues, the restaurant manager, Rashaun, seemed more inconvenienced than concerned. Meanwhile, we watched him moving around the restaurant the entire time while our table continued having a poor experience. Definitely expected much better.

When I was leaving I stopped and spoke with the owner to suggest they have the signage out and visible for the customers to see not refunds or exchanges if not satisfied , he was very rude not apologizing he stated What should I do just takes loss because you didn't like your order and I stated all other regular restaurants do he stated this is a regular restaurant and besides it's the law and I know because I'm a lawyer and should know and we have the best Shrimp in Chicago but my complaint wasn't regarding the Shrimp it was the Lobster Roll the Customer Service from the Owner and his rudeness is why I will never go there again even if you have good food doesn't give you the right to treat frequent customers in such a way I will not be returning and I will let all my family as Well as my Church family not to come back as I'm African American and he seems to have an issue with treating us with respect as I have saw other reviews by other African American's stating the same. A quick tip: definitely call ahead for a reservation. The dining area is small but cozy, offering a really intimate vibe. The cocktails were fantastic, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. The food? Outstanding. You can tell the owner knows a thing or two about authentic flavors--probably from time spent traveling and living abroad. I really appreciated how true the dishes stayed to their roots. The semi-open kitchen was also a great touch--it shows they're confident in their craft and proud of what they're serving. I'm not usually big on desserts, but wow. Honestly, they might be more known for their desserts than the entrees, but both were amazing. What really pulls it all together is the service--attentive, thoughtful, and full of personality. That's what makes this place special.

If you go on a day that she is there, ask to be seated in her section. Good service with good food has a tendency to take your experience to atmospheric levels! The bread baskets were filled with rustic Italian bread that was so delicious I thought I was at a trattoria in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Instead of butter, the upscale olive oil dip was very authentic. The menu offers a wide variety of choices for everyone that appeals to carnivores and vegetarians alike. Pastas, beef, pork, lamb and seafood. I asked to substitute one starch for another and the chef made it happen! The food was incredibly fresh. My dining companions has the Maple glazed salmon. The other had the lamb chops. Both raved about the freshness of their meals as well as the perfection to which their dishes were cooked! I had the scallops and substituted the starch with Truffle Fries. The theatrics associated with the presentation of my scallops was breathtaking. It was au flambé! They were so fresh and slightly crusted, i'd never tasted anything that delicious before. Even popular and legendary EAST COAST seafood restaurants could learn a lot about the preparation and presentation of scallops. My meal appropriately mixed textures, tangy tartness and sweetness in the veggie dish consisting of chopped zucchini sweet potatoes and spinach. The way that our meals were plated and presented was sheer "ART," worthy of a museum display. It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny! If I were to recommend an enhancement, I'd recommend some soft background music/jazz or a singer and pianist. It's that type of place. We were celebrating a friend's birthday.
