The ambiance isn't bad, slightly dated, but the excellent service makes up for it. I've dined in two or three times and ordered takeout a few times. The burgers are the best in town, though a bit pricey unless you take advantage of their half-price burger special on Wednesdays. Their Italian cream cake is absolutely killer, and the steak with French onion soup as a starter is pure perfection. Overall, it can be a little pricey, but for a small town, the food is definitely worth it unless you want to drive 30 minutes.

Prime Rib, medium rare, perfect! Ignore the dark portion it isn't over cooked, it's a shadow from me blocking the light. Great meal tonight.

What went well on my last visit everything! Service is excellent and friendly. The restaurant is immaculate and the presentation is wonderfull the clean crisp white table clothes and napkins, and the table setting. Then you get soup, bread which tastes great, and a meatball appetizer. Then comes your main course, I've tried several items so far as I work my way through their menu. The steaks are excellent and taste phenomenal, like to find in the loop. Yes it's a little pricey for Beecher it's more like eating in the loop, but that's because their food is the same quality and taste as the famous restaurants downtown Chicago, so I didn't mind paying the higher costs. It is worth it!

Chateaubriand for 2- we split it into 3 portions and this is the third portion!

Our apps included the spinach artichoke dip, burrata, and the calamari. The calamari was probably the best I have ever had. I had pineapple tinis which were great. I ordered the filet for dinner which came with two sides, I got mac&cheese and brussel sprouts. Like literally every single thing was delicious and out of this world. 10/10 experience. Views of the lake. Our server was so so sweet & friendly. I ordered the seasonal Moscow mule. It was a happy hour special. It was cucumber mint. A little sweeter than I had anticipated. But delicious. I ordered the lobster bisque to start. It was $6. Very good portion for the price. And it was amazing. The bread basket at the table was very good too. Whipped butter & the perfect density & chew. For the entree, I got the macadamia crusted walleye. It came with 2 sides. I chose the garlic mashed potatoes & ceasar salad. The potatoes had a lot of garlic. So, make sure you like garlic. I was so full after the salad that I took most of the fish & potatoes home. It was a good sized portion. They were just as good the next day. We shared the chocolate cake & a lemon dessert. I didn't take any pictures because I only had a bite. But they were amazing. The server offered to take our photo by the lake at sunset. What a lovely suggestion. I can't wait to come back.

Fortunately, it was a Tuesday and I had.reviewed the website to view the menu prior to selecting this restaurant. I noted that there was a Tuesday surf & turf special (8oz filet & 8 oz lobster tail for $56. It wasn't on either the regular menu or the specials list but it was offered. We ordered the oysters Rockafelller which were delicious and 2 surf and turf specials. Both lobster tails were good but my filet was ordered rare but came out medium rare. Our excellent waiter Steve said he would replace it and a new steak came out in about 3 minutes! I was very impressed with the speed of the replacement which was perfect. Nice ambiance, reasonably priced wine list. Excellent dessert list (although we were too full for dessert.). Our meals came with a house salad and large hot baked potato. Note that an 18% gratuity was added as well as a 3.5% credit card or debit card charge (annoying). But overall it was a great meal with great service.

I was skeptical but I like trying places so we gave it a go. Well...we were pleasantly surprised! It was a large restaurant with different eating areas, gambling in a small room. The bathrooms were cold but clean and smelled of cleaning. To the food. We had to ask for our waitress as I don't think they knew who was to work our table since we waited a while and they kept passing us up. We started with an app of a bread with chorizo and cheese served with a cheese sauce. Loved it. Along came our flight of margaritas which lasted through the meal. The chips were crisp and the salsa fresh. I got the steak with salsa and melted cheese and it came with avocado, rice and beans. Not really a rice person but this rice was good. The whole pinto beans had a nice flavor. I scooped some refried beans from my friends' plate and they were seasoned as well. She also liked the burrito. There is a parking lot but it looks like the restaurant can hold more. We just beat the dinner rush so we were able to park fine and get seated quickly.

Service was good and attentive. I noticed the comments about high prices, and for the area, I bet that is true. We found the prices comparable to large cities. One with tomato soup and the other with chili. We also ordered the *special* $5 egg salad sandwich. The grilled cheese came out as some cheese microwaved between a soft burger bun. Really disappointing and crappy. The chili and soup were okay. The egg salad sandwich was very basic and lacking flavor, served on classic white bread. It was also a weird dining setup, it felt like we were eating in a giant and deserted beer hall. Total transparency: we both expected more from one of the nation's largest dairy farms. We also thought the food would be a little cleaner, like a farm-to-table experience and less processed, but it tasted like food we could get at a gas station. My husband was disappointed with the ice cream selection at the milk bar, he was hoping for more of a variety other than the basic strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, etc. We also needed to get DEF for our truck from the Fair Oaks BP and my husband called it "highway robbery" for the cost we paid. He said it was 2 or 3 times what he normally pays. In summary, a total tourist trap with crappy lunch food. I also didn't know about their animal abuse case from 2019 until after we left. And the allegations about neglect and improper slaughter in 2023. Gross and sad.

As for the food, Rosebud Steakhouse is known for its steaks, and the 13-plus people in our group who ordered steak said they were good. However, one steak did have to be sent back because it was overcooked. I ordered the chicken sandwich, crab cake, macaroni, and broccoli on the side. The macaroni and chicken were oversalted, the broccoli was over-peppered, and the crab cake was undercooked. I packed my food up and took it home, where it ended up sitting in the garage. They do have a full bar, which was a nice bonus. Overall, if steak is your thing, this is the place for you.
