Princess Cruises are great if you're old and don't have kids. The food is top notch and the service is also fantastic. However, there isn't really much to do on board. If you're a kid or have kids there is zero to do on board because none of the Princess ships have any waterslides or activities, and while there is a kids club it is very basic. Even being middle aged like 30s/40s there's not much to do on board. The shows are meh as well. Bingo is fun but you can only play so much bingo on a cruise.... I'm actually a Ruby elite status member on Princess because my elderly parents love to cruise on Princess and so I go with them occasionally and while I always eat well (Princess has really good tasting soufflés!), and the staterooms are always nice I am always bored and find the entertainment a little cheesy. If you're in the older more sedate crowd than I think Princess is much nicer than Holland America but I prefer Norwegian or Royal Caribbean or even Carnival over Princess. read more

We went on a 7 day cruise to Mexico aboard the Royal Princess. We departed out of the World Cruise Center in San Pedro. It was hot for December. The lines to board were long. Lots of standing. Boarding was a very unpleasant experience. Disembarking at the end of the cruise was equally unpleasant. Our cabin was Ok. The bed was comfortable but if I got near the edge it sank down so much I felt like I would roll out of bed. Very different than our last cruise. To close the cabin door you really had to slam it. The people in the next door cabin also had to slam theirs shut. And they were constantly going in and out. And every time they slammed their door shut, we heard the bang and felt the wall shake. We could also hear voices through the walls. The food at the buffet was not so good. I was very concerned because almost all the food I got was barely warm. There was a large quantity of food but the quality was lacking. We ate in the Allegro and Symphany dining rooms. The food was just ok. However, the service was outstanding. The wait staff were awesome. We also ate at the Triton Grill. Burgers, fries and such were their primary fare. Some meals here were great and others not so much. We had shore excursions in Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. The city tour in Mazatlan was our favorite. We also stopped at Puerto Vallarte but we stayed on board. I got ill and had to go to the ship's medical clinic. The staff there were very professional. They followed up with me for a couple of days to make sure I was on the mend. It was reassuring to know that the ship had first class medical staff and facilities. We enjoyed onboard entertainment throughout our trip. A magician, pianists, violinists, singers and dancers. Our cruise was over Christmas. I was expecting more seasonal themed decorations and entertainment. I also thought there would be more Latin dishes on the buffet and dining rooms. Great value if you get a deal. The staff all were amazing and went out of their way to make the trip as enjoyable as possible. I recommend getting the princess plus package if you think you'll get at least 4 drinks a day. Food was not the best but on the better side for what you'd expect on a cruise. Take a look at the pictures to get an idea of the quality. I definitely took advantage of all the food and there were many days I had 5 different meals. Gym is decent too but there could be a bigger area for free weights. They also had a decent drink selection. I recommend getting a reservation for the sanctuary. Was very peaceful and relaxing. Had a great time! We were on the Royal Princess to San Francisco and Ensenada. The staff is very professional and incredibly patient. I don't know how they do it on very little sleep and sometimes not enough appreciation. We had a mini suite so we had enough room and a balcony on the port side. It's so nice to have your room serviced every day. Crazy that they have such great service. The atmosphere was modern and some restaurants themed. There was so much going on we couldn't possibly attend everything. Loved the stage shows though and so much food some impressive and some not so much. I enjoyed the fresh sushi over the steak house (Crown Grille) or the Italian restaurant (Sabatini's). Ports were beautiful and a great way to just get off the ship and walk around. You can really see a lot and experience even more of the different cultures.. even as a tourist. Can't wait to go on the next one! read more

Get your medallion mailed to you so you can go through the Green line! Cabin B631 (Baja deck) Balcony cabin on the aft side with no obstruction. Small area on balcony with 2 chairs and a small table. Bathroom and closet space is on the left as you enter the cabin. Queen bed is on the left wall with flat screen TV on the right wall, then desk on the far left wall and fridge/shelves on the right wall with sliding door to balcony in between. Joel was a very efficient steward and had the room cleaned within minutes of leaving. Horizon Court (buffet) 3 stars Very little variety and the same menu for both legs of the trip. Specialty areas (tacos, gyros, etc) doesn't stay manned so lines form waiting for someone to show. I just go around to the other side of it and serve myself. Seating was always a challenge especially during peak times. Breakfast was standard fare (fried eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes (no hashbrowns), oatmeal, cereal, fruit, breads (pre-toasted bread which was always hard), pastries, etc) and if you wanted custom omelettes, you put in your order and waited at your table which would be delivered. Boticelli restaurant (reserved sit down) 3.5 stars Nice ambience and decent food but not at the level you get on other ships. Princess Theater One big complaint with the theatrical shows put on by the Princess dancers/singers is the choreography. Whoever arranges these dances (and sometimes even the singing) has problems matching to the theme of the show. For example, a theme of a tribute to soul music in many cases didn't match the dances/moves to the music back then, and some of the songs weren't right for the singer singing it. A married couple doing magic was a little over the top and didn't really do any magic anyone hasn't seen before. One 5 lounge (deck 15) 4.5 stars Nicely laid out (but views were less than Skywalker lounge) and quiet until 4pm when the Platinum/Elite special event starts (appetizers and music). Special event offered appetizers of samosas, empanadas, pigs in a blanket, bacon-wrapped scallops, meatballs and "chicken lollipops". One big difference between this lounge and Skywalkers is also no standard events scheduled here so is quiet the entire time until 4pm. Bartender and server are very good and learns your drinks to serve you at 4pm. Wheelhouse Bar (4 stars) Nice ambience but always a singing event going on that is loud most of the time so only use this lounge for the music being played or to get together with new friends you meet. Explorers Lounge (4 stars) Nice seating but always has an event and is always loud. Laundromat Available right down the hall from the cabin and was not used much by others. Either go lucky or no one on the deck was washing since it was a back to back cruise of 10 days each. Debarkation 3 choices to get off the ship, 1) walk off with all your luggage yourself, 2) leave luggage out to be delivered to the terminal and be assigned a time to walk off, 3) have your luggage transferred to your plane and walk off early. Chose option 2 and then grabbed the last call time since our hotel check in was 2pm. Worked out great and was very efficient with luggage waiting at the terminal. read more

We just returned from a seven day cruise to Cabo, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta on the Royal Princess. From ease of parking to customs and on to embarkation the whole process was smooth and fairly quick. The ship is laid out well with deck maps on each floor. Our room w/ balcony seemed large and very clean. Ok, the food was above average and plentiful. Fresh fruits. Specialty dining, casual and super fancy dining areas were clean and well decorated. The bars were on point also! Staff and officers were there to help, answering questions and just help your experience be flawless. One little glitch though, power to the staterooms went out for about 20 minutes one evening but was fixed quickly! read more

My family were on a short cruise on the Royal Princess ship to San Francisco then to Ensenada, Mexico. The cabins although ours a mini-suite was a bit cramped for most everyone, it was still delightful to have a family area with a sofa convertible and an upper berth plus a balcony with a small table and two chairs. The ship is about 1028 feet in length and is equivalent to a 20 story hotel. It can carry 3,600 passengers with 1,132 crew members. We were on Deck 15 Marina suite. The sea was calm throughout this January 2026 trip. Therefore you can barely feel the ship. On Deck 16 are the buffet counters with bountiful amounts of food and drinks. All the crew staff were very helpful Embarkation and debarking were efficiently handled. This is one of the more than 16 cruises I have been on. I was impressed that with over 3,000 people, I was never stressed like on all my previous cruises. Of course I am comparing cruises from 2010 to 2026, where we have AI in most programmed systems. The food as I mentioned were plentiful and most were 5 star quality. The freshness of the fish and tenderness of the steaks. Unfortunately, its the cooking of some that were not great. Most of the food was on the salty side for me. The steaks were great, but the fish were on the overcooked side. The lobster was great. The crab cake was good but had a mix that overwhelmed the taste of the crab cake, again on the salty side. The Chilean sea bass, the branzino, the mahi-mahi and halibut could have been prepared better. The salmon was passable. Overall, we enjoyed family time of 8 persons. read more

My wife and I just returned from a week long voyage to Mexico. She's been bugging me for years about going on a cruise so we have finally gotten this out of the way. I won a "free" cruise from Station Casinos based on my slot play. I did wind up paying a variety of port fees, taxes, and miscellaneous charges so it wasn't exactly free but it was cheaper than usual. She enjoyed the experience but it was just okay for me. Having difficulty with mobility, I wasn't really excited about the prospect of lugging a week's worth of luggage and a walker aboard a cruise ship. I will say Princess Cruises does a good job of making accommodations to get you through check-in and onboard. We checked in our luggage and the walker at the drop off area and went to the ADA waiting area of the check-in tent. They issue you a number and send someone with a wheelchair to assist you through the boarding process. Once onboard, you can't go directly to your room because housekeeping is still cleaning and sanitizing from the previous voyage. Even after being given the all clear, there is a good chance you'll wind up waiting for your luggage. We probably waited about an hour and a half before our luggage finally got to our cabin. Now you should expect to be nickle and dimed for everything from internet access to bottled water. Even if you don't plan on drinking alcohol, you have to buy an expensive package for bottled water and soda or face paying for each individual drink except for water served in restaurants. We decided to purchase the Princess Plus package since it covered 15 drinks under $15 a day, gratuities, internet, 2 meals per person at one of the higher level restaurants, and room service charges. The package was roughly $800 but you'd wind up paying almost that much for just the beverage package and internet anyway so why not pay a bit more and get the other stuff out of the way. Fortunately we had a $400 onboard credit we were able to apply to package charge. The experience on the ship was pleasant. I was pleasantly surprised to find about 99% of the crew were so nice and helpful. Only 2 employees that didn't impress us much. They did cancel our tour of Cabo San Lucas so that was a disaster. It may have been due to a medical emergency that occurred resulting in a guest being airlifted by helicopter to a hospital on our way there that delayed our arrival. We did get a refund but Junior at Guest Services was a real jerk and wouldn't do anything about the fact our whole experience there on our first cruise was being harassed by street vendors selling crappy souvenirs. Not the Cabo experience I paid for. Be warned, Cabo isn't deep enough to accommodate cruise ships so will need to take a water shuttle to get to the port. If you have any mobility issues, transferring onto the boat in choppy waters can be difficult and possibly dangerous. The tours we booked through Princess at Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta were really nice. The guides were entertaining and informative. More importantly, SAFE. There is a massive military and police presence in Mazatlan due to the Sonora cartel. I wouldn't recommend going off on your own unless you speak Spanish and a good understanding of which areas are safe. The Mazatlan city highlights tour and Tequila distillery and countryside tour at Puerto Vallarta are highly recommended. Hopefully you get Alma in Mazatlan. She's a gem. The food onboard was good overall but I didn't think it was mind blowing like some people make it out to be. The buffet is a standard decent buffet. The dining rooms serve a different menu every night and we enjoy our meals but I wouldn't say anything was the best I've ever had. The sushi on the Royal Princess was HORRIBLE and this was supposed to be one of the higher level dining choices. The fish wasn't that fresh and the chef has no idea how to prepare sushi rice. Any Japanese market sells better sushi and that's the stuff sitting in refrigerated section. Hard pass on that. Duty Free shopping was a ripoff. High end liquor is much cheaper at better liquor stores like Remedy or Mission in the L.A. area. Some merchandise seems to be made exclusively for Princess so I'd hardly call it designer. Some Yelpers have written about warranties that were not honored on the mainland which I cannot confirm. The casino slot machine experience is underwhelming. Odds on the ship are lower than casinos in downtown or off Strip Vegas so if you win, you are extremely lucky. I didn't play blackjack so I don't know if they pay true odds on 21. I'd skip it. As I said before, my wife really enjoyed her vacation while I would have preferred going to Vegas so the experience is different for everyone. The ship is beautiful. They do have a variety of activities. It just depends on what you you're looking for and what your expectations are. She can go again with friends or family but I can live with my one Love Boat experience. read more

This was my third time cruising with Princess Cruises. The ship was the Grand Princess which is the oldest ship in the their fleet of 19 ships. It came into service in 1998 for 2,600 guests and 1,150 crew. There is currently a lot of wear and tear on this moving city. She has one last cruise before going to dry dock. The Grand Princess has 6 bars, 3 lounges, 1 casino, 1 internet cafe, 1 art gallery, 1 fitness center, a Lotus spa, a medical center, a photo gallery, excursions desk, several shops of Princess, 1 cigar lounge, 3 regular restaurants, 3 specialty restaurants...specialty restaurants means you will be charge, a huge buffet, International cafe, slice pizza, The Salty Dog, the Princess theater and Coffee & Cone. Captain Stefano Ravera has 36 years with Princess, we felt we were in good hands. The food on board was not bad. not great but just so so, the desert looked very pretty but was not that flavorful. Disappointed and Misled - Not the Princess Experience I Expected Last year, we took our very first cruise with Princess and were genuinely excited to be a part of the Princess Cruises family. While on board, we were incentivized to book a future cruise -- a great offer, we were told -- and we were assured that the discounted rate we were receiving was for the Princess Plus package, which we did, in fact, request and agree to upgrade to. Based on that assurance, we booked another cruise for December of this year. Now, as we prepared to pay the balance, we were shocked to discover that the Princess Plus package was not actually included. When I called customer service for clarification, I was told that their system showed the package was processed -- but they had no record of it being removed or canceled. After being placed on hold, the representative returned to tell me that the package had merely been suggested, but never fully added. This is unacceptable. The entire reason we booked the cruise on the ship was because we were told that the package was included at the rate we were given. I specifically requested that the onboard employee who assisted us receive coaching or retraining, because this misleading information directly influenced our decision to book -- and invest more in future cruises. In fact, I also booked a cruise for July of next year, and was planning to take another in December 2025. However, after this experience and the lack of accountability, I'm seriously reconsidering my loyalty to Princess Cruises. This has left a sour taste and is not the standard of service I expected from a cruise line that claims to value guest satisfaction. I hope Princess Cruises takes situations like this seriously -- it's not just about a package, it's about trust. read more

We are regular guests on Princess Cruises, and over time we have unfortunately noticed a decline in the quality of service and attention to safety. During our most recent cruise to Mexico (Royal Princess 11/22-11/29,2025) we encountered several concerning issues--some of which created unsafe conditions and even resulted in injury: Overcrowded Pool & Hot Tubs: The poolside hot tubs were overcrowded, and children were jumping into the pool area without supervision. One child fell on my knee, causing me pain. No staff members were present to monitor the area or manage crowding. Unsafe Conditions During the 80s Pool Party: The deck remained wet during the event, creating a slipping hazard. The entertainers encouraged guests to rush to the dance floor to claim free merchandise, yet the crew did not remove the chains for safe access. This was extremely unsafe. Lack of Cleanliness & Safety in the Enclave: The Enclave area was not being mopped regularly, and the floors were often dirty or excessively wet--conditions that could easily lead to falls. DJ & Entertainment Quality: The DJ refused requests and repeated the same playlist every night, limiting the entertainment experience. No Licensed Zumba Instructor Onboard: The advertised 45-minute dance fitness class was only 20 minutes and led by an entertainer rather than a certified instructor. He was not mirroring movements, provided no cooldown or stretching, and used Zumba songs while not teaching Zumba choreography--something that should not be done without proper certification. Insufficient Staffing in Dining Areas: The main dining room and the Piazza had too few waiters, resulting in long waits and diminished service quality. Limited Music Options for Older Guests: There was no band or music offering suitable for older guests who enjoy dancing, which used to be a highlight of Princess Cruises. Limited Specialty Restaurant Menus: The specialty restaurant menus were extremely limited. For guests who purchased the premium package, eating the same entrées night after night became repetitive and disappointing. Room Service Issues: Some room service orders were canceled without explanation, and others were simply never delivered. Additionally, if room service will not be available on the last day, guests should be informed at least a day in advance so they can make proper arrangements. Lack of Quiet Policy in the Enclave Spa: There was no signage requesting quiet, and some guests were yelling. No staff or crew members were consistently monitoring the Enclave to ensure it remained a peaceful, spa-like environment. Buffet Area Cleanliness & Staffing Issues: The buffet area was not being cleaned in a timely manner. There were very few staff members available to take orders or assist guests. When a crew member was asked to clean a table, he simply walked away. Additionally, no one was consistently reminding or requiring guests to wash their hands before entering the buffet area. Poor Buffet Food Quality & Lack of Variety: The quality of the buffet food was not good. Many items were overly salty, and the overall selection lacked variety. No Clear Distinction Between Odd and Even Cabin Sides: There was no clear signage or distinction between the odd- and even-numbered sides of the ship, making it difficult to locate rooms. This caused confusion and delays when trying to get to scheduled events or appointments. Overall, we were deeply disappointed with this cruise. We hope these concerns will be taken seriously and addressed so that Princess Cruises can return to the high standard of service, safety, and experience we have valued for many years. read more

I recently got to experience my first Princess Cruise via their newest ship, the Sun Princess. The Sun Princess is Princess Cruise's largest ship to date and is the first of their fleets to run on liquefied natural gas. They're currently in their inaugural season. It was definitely exciting to be part of one of the first journeys of the Sun Princess. The ship is gorgeous and so clean. It has 21 decks and 29 dining and lounge options. Being the largest Princess Cruise with the most dining options; my expectations for food selection was high and the Sun Princess definitely did not disappoint. They had international offerings thru out the ship and it was definitely impressive. Some of my favorite foodie moments included having traditional Filipino silog breakfast (garlic rice, egg and Filipino beef Tapa) at The Eatery on Deck 9, enjoying soft serve ice cream at the Lido Deck on Deck 17, snacking on Portuguese egg tarts at the International Cafe on deck 9 and enjoying Japanese Teppanyaki at Umai Teppanyaki on deck 8. Aside from enjoying good food; the entertainment was top notch. We were the first cruise guests to ever go into the brand new Sun Princess Princess Arena. Every 8pm and 10pm their would be world class performers there and it always made for a good evening. From magic shows to full on concerts; I really loved have front row seats. It was so great to see up close and personal some amazing artists. Aside from the Princess Arena; I really enjoyed the entertainment they would have at The Piazza. I got to join some of the games (bummed I didn't win a pair of Princess Socks lol) and got to dance along side some of the other cruise guests at the Inaugural Party. A huge shoutout to Cruise Director Corrine and her entertainment team who made this cruise so much fun. Last but not least; the cabin I stayed in was wonderful. I had a Deluxe Balcony cabin and it was so clean and nice. From a huge balcony to a curtainless shower; the cabin felt like staying in a beautiful home away from home. The cabins got cleaned every morning and every night and my cabin steward Ritchie was so awesome. He made me a cute towel animal every day! The whole crew at Sun Princess was so warm and welcoming. I definitely enjoyed my first Princess Cruise and would definitely be willing to do another cruise with them again. Hmm...Star Princess will be launching next year ;). read more

Just back from a 10 day Mexican Riviera with stops in Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Loreto. The Majestic was our ship and not our favorite of the ships we have cruised. The entertainment was lacking unless you like bingo paced games, quizes and ballroom music. We prefer rock and roll, dancing, exciting activities and of course the excursions and outings. We thoroughly enjoyed the Island and Ruby on our previous cruises and this one was a bit slower paced. The destinations and outings were fantastic. We had a mini suite on the marina deck 15 and never again as from day one the noise and banging from deck 16 was crazy all night long. We complained at the front customer service desk and with the room steward supervisor and were given ear plugs. This type of annoying noise certainly takes away from a peaceful night's sleep. We love to cruise and my rating reflects the actual cabin outside of the noise factor, the amazing food except the Chinese restaurant "Harmony" as the food was cold and not to our liking. The Allegro dining room was nice and the service spectacular with Jonathan and Jason taking care of us. Alfredo was also top shelf and always busy. The Crown Grill was terrific as the seafood and steaks were top quality. The Crown Grill staff of Byron and Nole were excellent. Our room steward Philip and also Risky were phenomenal. In the Cafe we always received top shelf service from Abhishek and Roland a great team. Mario the room steward supervisor was very apologetic about the room noise and noting it was a fully booked cruise our options were limited. Also a shout of praise to Marvin who's wife gave birth to their new daughter while he was attending to rooms down the hall from us. Marina from Ukraine at the front service desk was so pleasant and joyful as well. As I noted the location of our room was a true dissapointment as I will never again ask Princess to select the best room for us as they struck out on this room selection. We will see what the future has in store for our desire to cruise princess again. read more

Discovery princess Princess cruises is one of our favorite cruise lines. There's been a lot of changes with their loyalty for captains circle perks but the service on the discovery princess is really one to indulge in. A getaway after the thanksgiving season and Black Friday bustle. Cruising is so effortless when it comes to planning. Just get on and have fun everything else is planned for you in one spot. The medallion class is a smooth transaction for ordering or room access I do enjoy this new feature. Not having to look for my card when my hands are full is really ingenious for each guest. Service is always outstanding on this larger vessel. Some of the smaller, older ships need some major updating but the discovery princess is truly majestic. Food and dining is one not to be missed. Try everything and if you like it order another one. You will definitely be well fed while on a cruise. Make sure to visit the adult only pool for some relaxation and peaceful zen. Our first cruise aboard the Discovery Princess to the Mexican Riviera was an unforgettable experience! We were immediately impressed by how organized the boarding process was. Dropping off our large luggage prior to boarding meant it was waiting for us in our room later on embarkation day. If you want to swim right away in the pools and jacuzzis, be sure to pack your swim gear, books, and essentials in your backpack to bring on board. We noticed that the buffet was quite crowded on embarkation day, so we recommend visiting the restaurants instead for a more relaxing way to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the ship. The food throughout the cruise was exceptional, with a special shoutout to the Pirata dessert at the Gelato shop on the 5th floor--it was hands down our favorite dessert! The shows were also fantastic, but to get a good seat, be sure to arrive 15-30 minutes early. We have been with Princess for years, this cruise is falling short on expectations. The service is not what we are accustomed to. We have to hunt a server down to find out where our drinks are that were ordered on the app. Not sure if Royal Princess is a training ship or what. Writing in regards to my daughter who is a first time cruiser. Things she should have been told were not explained to her up front like making dining reservations even though she paid for the premier package. She needed to make reservations far in advance. The website with the necessary facts is very hard to negotiate and as a result she missed doing things timely. She did pay for her medallion a month before and paid for shipping but they failed to ship it so now she has to wait to pick it up At the port. They should have emailed her a checklist of things to do and where to find them on the website. again, you have to really search the website to find everything. I have cruised many times but never with Princess and I found the same problems. If you call to ask a question, there are long hold times. Right now I am very sorry we chose Princess. I usually sail on Royal Caribbean and do not encounter such problems with them in my pre-board experience. read more

Great entertainment. Great food. And lovely boat. I've been going on princess cruises for several years now and been on quite a few different ships. The service is always pretty good. But if you tip here and there. You get friendlier and faster service. The rooms are nice and well kept. With all the amenities that you would need including shampoo, body wash, hairdryer and turn down service twice a day. The medallion app is convenient for ordering a few things that can be sent to room whenever you want. I noticed if you order drinks on the app. You basically never receive them. So u have to go to the bar anyways. They just say they can't find you. Yet the servers don't even try to find you at all. I guess you gotta order from the waiters directly. There's a 15 drink limit per a day. Which was plenty for me. And some drinks are only available in the dining room. I throughly enjoyed the errazurriz (dessert) wine in the dining room. Overall I love the entertainment. It's very classy and specifically on the Emerald ship. The crooners lounge is the best. Best entertainers. Best friendliest wait staff and quick service. read more

Took a 3-day cruise from Seattle to Vancouver. Loved our balcony but didn't get a lot of chance to use it because of the weather. And of course, we had very good company so staying in our room was not an option. With regards to food, despite the fact that cruise food has gone down quite a bit as we've experienced with another cruise line last July, Princess has remained very pleasantly enjoyable. Of course, you wouldn't expect authenticity in all dishes but it is acceptably good. They still served good cuts of meat like beef tenderloin, prime rib, duck meat and seafood. We love the Medallion. The convenience of not having to tap a card to open the cabin door is such a cool technology. The lanyard was a convenient way of carrying it around as well. Service among staff is of course top notch as usual, nothing to complain. We enjoyed the after dinner entertainment in Princess Theater as well. They were relatable - songs from our era - and not hi-tech loud performances we experienced with another cruise line. We attended some comedy shows like Majority Rules and cruise director Gary was really entertaining. read more

There is nothing like cruising and relaxing all day!Drink package-check, suite with a balcony-check, adult only getaway-check, tanning lotion and swimwear-check, room service-check, Caribbean ports-check, food galore-check, vacay ready-check!!! Once we got on our cruise we had a blast. We had some flight issues, but once we boarded, smooth sailing!!! We went on a 7 day cruise on the Princess Regal. It was our first cruise, so we went all out and splurged on making it memorable. And it was that and more. We enjoyed ourselves, really got to relax and were treated really well by staff. Wow, cruising is the way to go and a great way to see various places you wouldn't normally travel to by plane. There was a lot of various activities to do while at sea (trivia, dancing, karaoke, games, movies, casino,etc.) Our room was always clean with fresh linens. The staff was always polite and helpful. The food was great and we never went hungry. Overall it was a great getaway and from other experienced cruisers, Princess Regal is the way to go! read more

We've cruised with Princess many times and tend to go between them and another company. On our most recent cruise - we were upgraded to a lovely Penthouse Suite (R612), aboard the Discovery Princess. Our stateroom had every amenity one could need and more. Every staff member we encountered was personable, exceptionally friendly, helpful and professional. Special thanks to Prince, Robert, Amit, Agus, Pooja, Iggy, Dago, Ivan and Rohan - you're all the fairest of the seas. The food is plentiful, diverse and delicious. You can eat at the many included offerings or try one of the specialty restaurants for a small up charge. The icing on the cake had to be the invitation to participate in the 360 dining experience. Been sailing with princess cruise for awhile. Embarked for a 4 days cruise from San Pedro to SanDiego and Ensenada . It was great all inclusive except excursion. The ship is 2 years old , amazing shows and entertainment. The cruise staff were excellent service. Fine and specialty dining were fantastic . Be back for more. I'm from Cali so no plane fare needed. Parking fee requires. Better to check in early at 10 am for early enjoyment. It was fun filled cruise. read more

Everything should be improved, I'm at my wit's end, the only reason I give them 3 stars is because I felt warm n fuzzy reminiscing the innocent days of the only show I ever watched "love boat"n the 1st few years of my cruise life. In 2005 we took the Tahitian Princess fr Honolulu to Papeete, Tahiti. My 1st 3 days on the Grand Princess, the cabin was like an igloo, I had to wear my winter jacket n socks to bed, it was so cold, it was so cumbersome I nearly rolled off the bed when I tossed n turned. After complaining 4x they fixed it but the thermometer was disabled n the cabin now was an oven I could not sleep, they claimed they fixed it but really did not now it's back to only cold air it's OK as we are getting close to Hawaii n it's getting warm but next week on the way back to LA, I will have to get into a fistfight to get service. Time has changed, the Tahitian ship had a French executive chef, we had glorious meals every night, beef Wellington, lobster thermidor, the midnight buffet was a spectacular culinary experience as you can see fr this picture w fruit carvings n ice carvings. In 2010 we were on a cruise to Panama Canal, I complained about something n the manager cane to my cabin n gave me a $400 cash goodwill credit to calm me down but now it has been a disaster n nobody gave a damn. No wonder their stock crashed to $18 whereas the Royal Caribbean stock skyrocketed to $174. If they don't improve the customer service it will crater back to $10. Furthermore they cut housekeeping down so much bathrooms are dirty bc of so many very disabled passengers pooping all over n nobody cleaned them, it was disgusting. The Grand Princess is 26 yo n it shows but last year I was in the brand new Discovery it's the same design on every class, RC has new designs, new decoration w each class I don't think I want to do another Princess if they continue w the race to the bottom. I'll review again after the end of this 16 days cruise. The entertainment was good bc the live band was excellent but they have mostly vocalists not many production shows like in Royal Caribbean ships, I just posted a video of Dan Delgado what an amazing young man, the best trumpeter ever. read more

First solo cruise in the books and it couldn't have gone much better. I was in need of a vacay and saw that a 7-day cruise out of SF down to the California coast was priced reasonably so I decided to book. I decided to upgrade to a balcony room and it was worth the extra couple hundred because being able to wake up, see outside, sit on the balcony with a little effort was exactly what I needed. The bed was comfortable and soft. It was a perfect size for one person, sharing would've felt a bit cumbersome so if you have the option to get your own room, do it. As for the food, I was really impressed. Was it blow my socks off good? No. But it was higher quality and more culinary skills used than I would do at home. Plus it's all included in the price, and you can literally eat as much as you want. 5 shrimp cocktails at dinner? No prob. Wanna try two main courses? It's yours. Buffet with various world cuisines, they got it. 24 hour room service, dangerous. Fresh baked bread daily made took burgers and sandwiches up a notch. Alfredo's Italian, super good, veal ravioli was my fav thing all trip. Activities during the cruise? They got plenty. I spent a lot of time in the cigar lounge, bingo games, and the casino. Sports bar had a couple of the warriors game and the 49ers game which was nice. They had game shows, live shows, and something going on at all times. Plenty of things to do, especially during sea days. The drink package was worth it for me. Because it included most liquors, beer, bottled water, soda, and specialty coffees. With the medallion app, you can get food/drinks delivered to you anywhere on the ship. Since it's not peak season, the cruise itself was only about a 1/3 full (3k capacity), so it felt empty which was great because I never had to wait for anything, no long lines, plenty of space by the pools, lounges, and bingo. The wife and I took our first retirement cruise and we were both underwhelmed. We had a junior suite onboard the Grand Princess and the room is outdated. The one positive aspect of our cruise was our room attendant Roy. He was really great and thus giving 2 stars in stead of 1 star. The food was not good at all. Buffet was really small and everything I tried was not good. Wife agreed with me. Booked an excursion for last day of our Alaskan cruise that would get us to Anchorage from Whittier. Booked all excursions through Princess 3 months prior to our cruise. About a month before our departure, I received notification from Princess that the final excursion was cancelled. I called Princess and verified cancellation and was assured we would receive a refund. Ok no biggie. Wife made an excursion purchase through an outside company that would get us to Anchorage. Fast forward to day 1 of cruise and we find out our original final excursion through Princess still shows active. As a result we are now out of the price the wife paid for outside excursion. For our next cruise, we will not consider Princess. read more

Princess Cruises - Our not so great time on Princess - Tours Near Me - San Pedro, California

I cruised with Royal Caribbean, Holland America and Princess for the past 40 years. I like Princess Cruise line the best. Holland America caters to the more senior crowd. There is not much to do after 9 or 10 pm. Royal Caribbean is pretty good with Entertainment and all, but Princess has the best food and Entertainment. There's always something to do from 8 am to midnight. Their Boardway production is amazing. We just came back from the Discovery Princess. Their lounge singers and piano bar singers were very talented. The comedian was clean. He was funny without any foul language. Their Boardway show Rockopera were amazing. The vocalists and the dancers were excellent. The Art gallery pieces were really good prices. They have Pickleball courts, miniature golf, table tennis, line dancing, and much more on the ship to do. One thing I enjoy the most is their desserts during dinner. They are to die for! One thing to be aware of is that the drinks are not free. You could get lemonade, ice tea and water for free in the dining room. If you want soda or anything else, you have to purchase their various drink packages to allow you to get soda, bottle water, mocktail, tea, coffee and alcoholic drinks. Overall, my family had a great time onboard. We were able to do our own things and just get together for lunch and dinner every day. Another thing to be aware of is that if you want to sit together with your group in the main dining room, you have to make reservations ahead of time if possible. Then they will assign you to the same table every night. I highly recommend the Princess cruiseline if you want Entertainment without a lot of kids around. read more

Ship is huge... Lots of outside sitting and dining areas. I went with my girlfriend, because my husband did not want to stay in an inside cabin. We play slots and it was a " casino " perk... A free inside cabin... Was a little nervous, we always book a balcony cabin. But, free is free!! 2 days before we sailed, they upgraded us to a deluxe balcony (we did have a "bid" of $200) Totally worth that 200 bucks!!! Food was good. We had 2 upgraded meals... But, there wasn't much choices. Love the Medallion that unlocks your door... You use it to buy your drinks... We had the Plus package..So, alot of things were included. The BIG NEGATIVE...Was they were have a slot tournament and I swear every passenger was in it...The casino was packed 24/7..... People were waiting 3 deep for a chair to a machine or live poker... This continued the entire week. What a NIGHTMARE!!! Plus, they allow smoking in one potion of the casino-however the entire place reeked of cigarette smoke... Seriously, that's like telling your children you can "Pee" in the shallow end of the pool! ‍ Outside the casino was an area that always had entertainment, those customers would step just inside the casino threshold and light up... They blocked the entrances the entire time... The few chances I did get a chair ( losing miserably!) I was so afraid of losing my spot... I stupidly stayed and lost my #^} I pushed my service button to get a cocktail and got zero response... 90 minutes later I flagged down a server, placed my order and never saw him again... This happened twice in the 4 hours I ...I finally cashed out.... Walked up to the bar, got my drink and went back to my room. I cashed out 1/2 way through the cruise, deciding when we docked in Florida I would visit a casino there... Which we did...Nice smoke free environment... Thousands of machines.. Hey Community, Cruisers beware. Here's lessons learned and things to pay attention to. My husband and I went on our first cruise ever last month for my birthday. It was a 7 day Mexican Riveria Cruise on Discovery Princess. My cruising experience was great. No complaint. I enjoyed it so much, I made a $1500 down payment towards my future cruise next year. Here's my problem and I'm sharing so you are aware and do your homework. After we disembarked, I begin trying to get refunds on charges on services not received. When I received my Folio for $533, I contact customer relations and requested a review of the charges. It's been over 45 days, numerous phone, texts, and staffers and yet the problem remains. Of the $533, $325 is questionable. To start with, $125 for 5 printed pictures that I never received is undeniable. In addition, I was awarded an "Elite" Benefit Certificate which entitled me with special perks that I was charged for. After phone calls to confirm the charges with no success, I request to speak with a supervisor was told he didn't know who that person was, I requested a refund for my $1500 paid towards a Princess Promotion for a future cruise and now the $208 monthly charge. I made that decision because of lack of customer service, not my onboard experience. I do not intend to cruise on Discovery Princess again. It's been now a week since my request for a refund. According to them, it's being reviewed. Reviewed, for what? It's my money. I made the decision to request a refund because of lack of customer service, follow through, and no intention to cruise on Discovery Princess. From Customer Relations, Myriam, Photo Gallery, Nicole, Keani, Lance, and now Colin, a lot of people, emails, phone calls and to date, nothing resolved. I had a Princess Plus package arranged through the Auto Club and I never thought this would be my experience. I would like to reillerate, the cruise experience was amazing, however I am disappointed, and have no desire to use the Princess Discovery. We have been cruising with Princess for over 7 years and feel that they keep changing their incentives for LOYAL customers...Going on almost 15 Cruises the most Frustrating part of Princess is they CANNOT be contacted and will not not ever answer any Complaints or Issues. They make you go through tireless channels of 45 min waits through their OFF-SITE phone reps' only to be told the ONLY way to speak to anyone in Los Angeles is to Email them the complaint...Yepp, you guessed it, NO-ONE has EVER GOT Back To Me! I'm so upset that Princess won't communicate to anyone that has a Real Complaint or Issue! Their Management is Non Existent and should all be fired!
