Crown Princess June 28-July 9th Alaska. Many times we had to clean our own table when going to the buffets. The food was not that good, although the salad bar was okay on the days they would put out ranch dressing. Many times the we had to ask for drinks, or get them ourselves. My Daughter has celiac disease and they promised gluten free dishes when booking the cruise, but nothing was labeled and when asked nobody knew. She ate only the salad. When contacting special services, they would promise to make corrections, but never would follow up! They did bring her to boxes of rice Chex cereal, because it was gluten free, but that's it. The Pizza place was awful, always soggy, undercooked crust! Salty dogs had a pulled pork sandwich with a teaspoon of pulled pork and runny sauce, so soggy that it grossed me out! They definitely skimped on everything! Some crew members were very nice, but some were very rude. Maybe understaffed or over worked? Had to go to special services several times, as changes were added that we didn't even have! We have been on several cruises, but first time with Princess. We were so looking forward to it, as past cruises have been delightful! This was not! I feel sad, as we spent so much money, time and effort to be able to get away. I guess times have really changed. It's more about them making the money instead of taking care and valuing their customers. I could go on, but it's not really important anymore. I just know this trip put a bad taste in my mouth. Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service!!! I have been on a waiting list for Medallion App support for almost 5 hours now. Besides the "waiting list," I called on another line and am actually holding for someone to answer. I also have a so-called "Live Chat" going on right now with no help. EUREKA! 5-hrs and 1 minute and someone just answered the live call. My "wait in line" call which was an hour prior to this call hasn't been returned yet. This is absolutely unacceptable!!!!!!! Did I say this is horrible customer service??? Told by tech support, they are "having app issues and have been having app issues." When I told him I have been on this call for 5-hours, the support guy told me, there were 256 other people on-hold and they were trying their best to help everyone. I am very afraid! This app is used for everything on the ship and I'm not looking forward to going now because I can only anticipate the worst. By the way, it took 17 minutes for the Live Chat guy to tell me to "refresh my app," to see if it would help. This was my reply to him: "I am having an app issue. You took 17 minutes to tell me to refresh my app. Give me a freakin break. You need to find another job. This app in its current condition should have never been rolled out until all the bugs were ironed out. Now I wish I hadn't booked with Princess. Although aAlaska is beautiful the trip itself was not good If you are not a smoker use another cruise line Their casino is one large room with smokers on one side and non smokers on the other. So basically the whole room is filled with cigarette smoke Also there are so many more machines on the smoking side The whole bid section of the 6th floor smells of cigarettes The guest service area is right outside the casino so that whole area is filled with smoke. It's gross. I asked the lady in guests services about it and she said that it's always like that and she's always sick from it The food was not good. NCL is way better. Princess Cruise Lines is a great option for going on vacay! I did the 7 Day Mexican Riviera Cruise the week of Thanksgiving and fell in love. From the moment you see the Ruby Princess Ship from afar at San Pedro the excitement begins. The whole staff gave 5 Star service including all of the porters, stewards, servers, bartenders, entertainment crew, photographers, etc. all were great and gave excellent service. I didn't get seasick luckily however the last 2 days it was a little more rocky. The pit stops on land included: Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. When you get to land I highly recommend doing one of the shuttle van tours, the pricing of the tour and the places they take you are totally worth it! The highlights of the trip include: scenic coastal views, hidden gems for eats and drinks, tequila tasting in the jungle with an opportunity for zip-lining, cliff diver watching, visiting the cathedrals, and exploring mania with opportunities to shop everywhere. The layout of the Ruby Princess is spectacular with it's interior decor and different levels. The different events throughout the day provide a distraction and source of entertainment when out to sea. I especially enjoyed the: -"Wine Club": 6 tasters with food pairing -"Tea Party": black tea lattes, sandwiches, and dessert -"Voice of the Ocean": exactly like *The Voice* TV show.. singing contest -"Comedian Shows" -"Trivia" -"Family Feud" I felt like I gained weight from taking advantage of the all-inclusive food. Room service food is also a part of the all-inclusive package which is great to take advantage of, but I didn't utilize it. The great food spots include: *Horizon Buffet*- buffet!! Get your grub on *Michaelangelo's* and *DaVinci's*- fancy sit down restaurant, three course meals however with all-inclusive you can get as much as you want if you want an extra app, entree, or dessert hayyyyyy! *Pizza and Ice Cream Bar*- Pizza was so addictive!! Yummy with your daily pizzas in the mix with pizza of the day specials which varied. *International Cafe*- 24/7 spot open with yummy Cuban Panini! and Gelatos for a small extra charge All drinks are at an extra charge however there are different packages such as a "Soda Package" and a "Alcohol Package" available for one flat weekly charge. Also hotel gratuity is added on at $12.95 daily which is automatically applied to your cruise card which is linked to your credit card. For nightlife, the party was at *Skywalker's Nightclub* was where the dance floor and tunes spun by DJ Layla and a great place to get some late night sips. I came by this club 5 out of the 7 nights which was a good way to close things out. The bartenders here pour stiff drinks and the servers are all on point. Also in the mix is *Club Fusion* which hosted a few different events (zumba, samba dance lessons, trivia, voice of the ocean just to name a few) plus a dance party at night. The "Princess Theater" hosted the comedian, Voice of the Ocean Finale, and musical shows etc. Another bar that I enjoyed was the "Speakeasy Cigar Lounge" which had speakeasy, chill lounge vibes a great place to throw back some drinks. For those that want to get their gamble on there's a casino too here. The Fitness Center is the place to burn off all the food and drinks, however I only used this once. It has all of the weights, cardio, and an open workout room. Spin Class is also available, but offered at an extra charge. I also played basketball where they have a nice outdoor basketball court to shoot some hoops. The views on the *Ruby Princess* are spectacular! From the oceanview room which offered incredible views and on top the ship the outdoor vibes were so much more splendid. In addition the "Movie Under the Stars" featured Sunday, Monday, and Thursday night football plus other feature films. They cover the pool chairs and offer blankets as well for the evening movies/football games. They have a few different swimming pools and lots of different to places to lay out at such as *The Sanctuary*. They also over two "Formal Nights" on Sunday and Thursday where everybody dresses up and they have formal photography everywhere. The unlimited photo package is $199 which includes boarding photos from each port plus all the pictures from formal night which is plenty. A great kodak moment and souvenir to remember the trip. OVERALL, a pleasant experience and one to remember. It is a bit pricey, but totally worth it because of everything included. 5th cruise and 1st Alaskan cruise The good: as with most cruise ships, they do a great job with style. -good dining and room cleaning service -food presentation/service as would be seen at a 3-4 star restaurant -deck/pool food was solid - hamburgers and hot dogs -nice selection of free movies in cabin -gym busy at times but decent equipment/selection -live band for many performances (although filled in for predominantly prerecorded tracks on some performances) The bad: as with most cruise ships, they do a poor job with substance, but this is Princess and is supposed to be higher end and priced that way as well -food was quite bad, even in dining room - the meat was poor quality and nearly tasteless and tough even when cooked on rare end - ordered medium rare and got well done on one occasion- they did kindly bring another cooked as ordered; pastries similarly bad - for example flavorless canned apple pie even in the dining rooms, low end "ice cream" when available -free coffee tasted like instant coffee and paid coffee was mediocre; bread selection was poor and daily breads were just white bread rolls with sometimes different sprinkled toppings such as sesame seeds; produce/fruit was flavorless and not ripe and smoothies made of this tasted similar -went to guest services x4 and called x3 to finally get medallion access to one of the 2 rooms I booked and was staying in; long lines with lots of wasted time, then on day before departure my access disappeared -difficult to get walk in dining seating for our party of 6 before 7pm -app was poorly usable -ordered food/room service in app twice; order was acknowledged there each time but food never delivered; after 2 hours both times Princess cancelled each order on their end read more

I have done several cruises with Princess now. Am just so pleased with the service and have become addicted to Alfredo's pizza (I ate there every day for 25 days on Royal Princess- and I miss it so much.) Also, I have to say the MDR was outstanding. I have a food allergy and our dining manager (Srdjan) was absolutely perfect. He and the chef checked all my meals- he EVEN made sure I got specially made desserts! I never get desserts (am allergic to corn and carrageenan, and one of those bad boys is always in a dessert)- but our dining manager worked with the pastry chef to get me desserts- unexpected and awesome! And our trip was full of moments like that- in which staff went above and beyond. Our trip wasn't perfect- on the first cruise of two one of the salon staff got me sick- but he shouldn't have showed up sick to work. That could happen with any business, and I was sad, and I do recommend you NOT go to the spa since the people working there are so very close to you- if they are sick, you're going to be sick. On the positive side I can tell you the doctors on board are great AND reasonable AND if you have Kaiser- just keep your receipts and your proof that you paid the ship for your treatment and submit online once you are home! My first and last Princess Cruise - This was a cruise (Royal Princess) tour from Vancouver to Denali and NEVER again. I don't normally write reviews but I am writing this to warn other unsuspecting vacationers. We paid for transfers from our airlines to the hotel in Vancouver and from the hotel to the ship. The reps at the airport did not seem to know what was going on and told us we would be coming back to the airport before going to the ship. They gave us a voucher for a taxi to the hotel and said the hotel and we would learn more at the hotel. This worked OK. Princess has reps at the hotel where they took our bags put us on a bus to the dock. Getting from the bus to the ship was an ordeal, extremely long lines and very long distances, especially for partially disabled seniors. Finally we were given access to our mini-suite, but it was not configured as we had requested. They corrected this promptly. Two nights later (1:30AM) the toilet overflowed and flooded the bathroom. It was not being used, it just overflowed. Took them over an hour to respond to clean the floor, after they "repaired" the problem. Two nights later it overflowed again. The problem was then determined to be faulty valves in the system. Meanwhile a forest fire closed Denali Park. Princess kept us informed that the lodge and park were closed then on the last night on the ship they advised the lodge was open and they expected the park to open the next day...Not true... The lodge was opened but the park never opened until after we left Fairbanks and returned to Ca. Be aware that at the last night on the ship they advised us to re-pack our bags as they would be sending one of our bags direct to Fairbanks, bypassing the McKinley Lodge and the Denali Lodge. All transported bags had to be placed outside the staterooms the night before arrival in Whittier. We were only allowed to carry a small hand carry bag with us (similar to a grocery bag). We were transferred from the ship to a train at 6:15AM...The train was cramped with no room to put any jacket and minimal room for the one handbag underfoot. The scenery consisted mostly of trees and the food, although expensive left a lot to be desired. Very boring train ride. Princess reps came on the train and told us our excursion in Talkeetna was cancelled but arranged for us to take a different excursion. We agreed and they told us they had transferred us to the other excursion. Near Talkeetna, we were taken off the train and put on a motor coach which took us to Talkeetna. Nothing much to see here, just a few gift shops and our excursion (Mahay). They told us Mahay also checked bags for $1 per bag. They collected the money outside then when we got inside their building we discovered they did not check any bags, just stacked them randomly in a couple of rooms with no real security in place. We went to the desk to check on our concession and were told to come back at 2PM. At 2PM we went back and were told we were not transferred from the cancelled excursion and the other one we were supposed to be booked on was full. So there we were with nothing to see or do here. After waiting around in the rain for over an hour, we retrieved our hand carry bags (had to search for them as they had been moved) got on a motor-coach and went to the McKinley Lodge. At the lodge we were assigned a room and a shuttle took us to it. When we opened our suitcases we saw one of them was soaked on the inside (looked like it had been dropped in a puddle). The clothing was wet and stained. Guest Resources (front Desk) only listed a number to text, so I texted them and told them. They showed zero interest and offered to send over some quarters for us to wash the clothing in the laundry (our building did not have a laundry). Some of the affected clothing was not suitable for putting in a dryer. I texted back and forth then found a phone number to call. I asked them to come and see what they had done but they refused. We made the mistake of eating there in their main restaurant.....Expensive and almost inedible. Wanted to charge $8 to switch a vegetable that was on another menu item. We skipped breakfast and settled for coffee and a scone. Here also they required bags to be put outside the room for transfer to Denali before we went to bed....Really awkward storing everything in a hand carry bag. The motor-coach trip to Denali was a bust. As soon as we left the lodge the driver turned on the heater and fogged all the windows such that they could not be cleared for more than a couple of seconds. Long bus ride, looking at nothing. I asked the driver to defog the windows but she said, "I am working on it." but nothing happened. About a mile before the Denali Lodge she turned on the air conditioning and the windows cleared almost immediately. What a wasted day? When we checked in at the lodge we learned the Park would not open until long after we were gone....gets worse from here. read more

This is for the Mexican Riviera cruise on the Royal princess 4/20/2019 - 4/27/2019. Let me just start out by saying that the ship was amazing, as a medallion cruise all you needed was your medallion on you and you could access your room, pay for items in the shop, and even use the large touchscreens all over the ship that have many features on them. Everything seemed to work flawlessly, and the cruise was well kept. Food. 4/5 - A few times I'd say the buffet had a better selection than the dining room, but regardless the food was pretty good. Now on the other hand Sabatini's Italian restaurant was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it, there is a cover charge though as it's not included with the regular cruise food. The paid restaurant quality was 100 times better than what you'd see in the main dining room and that was a real shame. Service 0/5 - Absolutely horrible, our waiter in the dining room was rude, he would argue with his assistant constantly and would slow down the process big time. One.of the higher ups had to come step in because of the issues which helped out a bit, but the very next night it was worse than before, waiting 2 hours for our main course to arrive, no joke. The room steward from the get go was odd, something just was off. He was rude, and even came into our room demanding that we get off the phone because of an issue regarding the bathroom. Really a negative experience. I look at it like this, if this was my 1st cruise experience I'd probably not want to go back on another. There were tons of things to do on board but when you actually dread going to dinner because of the head waiter wants to cause drama all night or not wanting to run by your room steward because of how uncomfortable he makes you feel. Now granted not everyone had a terrible waiter or a creepy steward and I can say without those 2 factors it was a pretty awesome cruise just not too sure about going back now. read more

This cruise was the worse by far. The food is awful! Even the food they serve in the restaurants are disgusting. The language barrier between us and the employees were awful. Half of them you couldn't understand and the other half didn't understand us. Forget about room service you will be waiting hours to receive your food and once you do receive it it's going to be cold. Yeah you can get the drink package but they are not gonna serve your drinks back to back. They are going to serve you one drink wait 45 minutes and then you'll get another. The rooms are filthy. We requested to have all of our sheets changed the first night because there was a Hair in the bed. Some gentleman came in and remade the bed, but he did not change the sheets. There was a power outage in our room and several other rooms while we were there. Needless to say my curling, iron and straightening iron did not work well on this ship. We were told we were going to get two days in Cabo San Lucas. Needless to say, we only got less than 24 hours. Our excursion was awful. It was such a waste of money. Please save your money and do not use it on this cruise. Also bring a case of water, a couple of cases of sodas and some snacks. If you do decide to take this cruise. While boarding the boat, I noticed, people had bags of food, sodas, and water. Now I see why the food is disgusting. It is God awful. I wouldn't recommend it to my dog. The staff is very rude and unfriendly. They say that the pools are heated and the Jacuzzi is heated and that is a lie. The pool was ice cold! The Jacuzzi was also cold. And they have a sanctuary where the adults are allowed to relax without children, but the pool was not filled with water, so that was absolutely pointless. If you get off in Cabo, be ready for people to approach you and ask you if you wanna buy drugs that's all we heard the whole time out there. Also, the restaurants out there are no good. The only restaurant I can recommend is Cabo Wabo that one was decent. But do not go there after dark as you will be asked to buy drugs up and down The street and not only will you be off for drugs these dealers will follow you up and down the street and harass you. read more

In a nutshell, based on my past cruise experience, Princess is two notches above Carnival but one notch below Celebrity. This is a 4-day cruise on the CROWN PRINCESS from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara and Ensenada, Mexico. For us, it is pretty much a cruise to nowhere but just a relaxing long weekend getaway. ATMOSPHERE In general, the atmosphere is lively and upbeat but not rowdy. You won't see the kind of sizzling hot and high energy deck parties like you'll see on Carnival, but you won't see a bunch of drunk and obnoxious people either. The dance club (Skywalker, deck 18) is packed and vibrant, but again, not rowdy or out of control. Servers at the main dining room are more focused on food and service rather than being entertaining. If you like to see jovial servers singing and dancing on the tables, you'll need to hop over to a Carnival ship. BAR Most drinks are around $6 to $10, with the exception of a few premium drunks, such as XO. The best deal is the all you can drink (AYCD) package for only $49 a day. And you don't even need to be a heavy drinker to take advantage of it. Essentially, depending on what you drink, you'll break even at about 7 drinks a day. FOOD In general it's about one notch above Carnival but 2 solid notches below Celebrity. Food items in the buffet were hit or miss. Some items, like the Hungarian beef Goulash was phenomenal. It was flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The pork Florentine was also awesome - tender, juicy and delicious. Fried items such as fried shrimps or fried zucchinis were good. I also liked the roast chicken as well as most of the veggie dishes. The carve station was a mixed bag as well - the roast beef on the first day was good but the brisket on the last day tasted like processed meat. Items in the dining room were also mostly good to average. The prime rib was actually quite bad and tasted like processed meat. The quality of the filet mignon was ok but unimpressive, probably similar to what you'll find at a Black Angus or Outback. The NY steak on the last night of the cruise, however, was amazing! The meat was good quality and tender, cooked perfectly medium rare, and served with a super yummy green peppercorn sauce. Salads were fresh, soups were tasty, and apps such as the shrimp cocktails and escargots were really good. (As long as you don't compare the escargots with those in Paris.) SERVICE This is where Princess truly excels. I thought I have been spoiled by Celebrity but was completely blown away by the exceptional service on Princess. There were many servers at the buffet serving and refilling drinks, clearing dishes, bringing you fresh silverwares, and asking you if there's anything that you need almost every 5 minutes. The dining room staff was also awesome, friendly and efficient. One thing I like the most is that there was a lack of high pressure selling of wines and other beverages. On the other hand, on Celebrity, there are always lots of sommeliers circling around your table to sell you expensive bottles of wines. Our room steward Freddie has been cool and friendly and he made us feel truly welcome. Service was close to impeccable and our room has been perfectly maintained. Almost every employee that we encountered was upbeat and exuded enthusiasm in their work. Even at 2:30AM, the staff at the 24-hour International Café was serving sandwiches with a warm and welcoming smile. ENTERTAINMENT This is where I think Princess failed miserably - at least as far as this cruise is concerned. Let me just tell you who's awesome first: The comedian-magician (Christopher James) was a bomb. The Mariachi band was top-notch. Everything else was mediocre to poor. The worst was the party band (Emperor Penguins). Not only was her off key at times, the female "lead singer" had a voice so weak that she won't even make it past the first round in American Idols. There was no live band on the pool deck, just a DJ at times. I don't think there's even a stage for a band on the Crown Princess. The two "Broadway" type shows in the main theater was ok - good but really nothing impressive. Like Simon Cowell used to say: "It's a good cruise ship performance!" The London interlude of the "Destination Anywhere" show was the only part that showcased some creativity and upbeat choreography. For on board entertainment and production shows that will blow you away, you'll need to hop over to Celebrity. CONCLUSION Overall, we really enjoyed the cruise and we had a great time. First-time cruiser: You'll have a lot of fun whichever ship you sail on. The first time is the sweetest. Repeat cruisers: Take my review with a huge grain of salt as I admit that I am somewhat easy to please but hard to impress. But in every single perspective, Princess deserves a solid 4-star Yelp rating. read more

I've cruised 4 times and this is the 3rd cruise line I've tried. It comes down to value. The pros: the boarding process was excellent, the alcohol packages are well tailored for most people, the staff was kind and worked hard. The pizza, burgers and tacos on deck were awesome. I rather enjoy using the medallion system, and dining room meals were great. That's about where it ends. They also offer room service and delivery of drinks and such anywhere on the ship, which is nice, but leads me to the cons. The cons: they are incredibly understaffed and the ship (Caribbean Princess) was so outdated it hurts. The layout is bad, really bad. Forcing guests to walk through buffets and casinos to get places is awful. There's a huge lack of helpful staff in every department. As such drinks and food are extremely slow. House keeping does the minimum and does nothing you don't request. Zero anticipation of needs. Everything is slow. Even having dirty dishes, used towels and deck trash taken care of seems to be no priority. The buffet "marketplace" is terrible. Embarrassingly so. They can't keep up with demand so it's rare to even see all your options and when they do have it it's dry, bland and very low quality. The rooms are so outdated it's gross. Toilet takes several attempts to flush, shower gets water everywhere and everything rattles. The motors are loud and vibrate the whole ship. If this was your first cruise you might think it normal. It is not. For the age of the ship the crew should be better trained and things should run like clockwork. It does not. Excursion process was unsafe with 200+ people crowding in front of elevators and stairs with no staff to give any direction. The floors are wavy and give in some places on the pool deck and in hallways. Carpet is peeling up, and the ship is visibly rusted. Hot tubs are typically warm tubs (90 degrees or less) with less than 1/2 the jets working. Deck chairs are uncomfortable, and not padded when you can find them, and the only cozy section on the ship (the sanctuary) cost $80 extra daily per person for what is the standard on other ships. For the price there is a lack of value. Celebrity offers cruises for this range with far far better amenities, nicer ships and appropriately staffed. Royal Caribbean offers cheaper cruises with more staff, better food and accommodations. Did I have fun, sure, it's a booze boat on the Caribbean. Will I book again, absolutely not. It just doesn't make sense to cruise with Princess when clearly, customer satisfaction means less than saving a buck and cutting corners is commonplace. They don't even attempt to change, complaints are met with excuses and apologies but no solutions! They simply cannot compete in the current marketplace and without significant changes, will never appeal to the next generation of cruisers. read more

Ruby Princess is a solid experience. We have traveled the Mexican Riviera 6-7 x on three different lines (Carnival/Royal Caribbean/Princess). Each has had some good highlights but we keep coming back to Princess for the overall experience. Our most recent trip on the Ruby over the thanksgiving week was probably our best eating week on a cruise ship. We tried 3 specialty restaurants and Share (by Curtis Stone) was the best even factoring in the added cost of $39 per person. Entertainment was outstanding and the ship has a great LED wall set used for all its production shows. Also had four singers (most ships have 2). Best excursion was zip lining in Puerta Vallarta. Definitely do the ship tour if space allows. Just got back from the 7day Princess Cruise. When first arriving we encountered a room delivery problem which wasn't resolved til the next day. It being the first night it was extremely busy so I decided to wait until the next day to try and get my preorder items sent to the room. However, Lawrence the room service manager corrected their mistakes. Order was delivered. Enjoying the main dining room called Skagway I give it two thumbs up, the food was flavorful and the plating was beautifully done. Great dinning services from Kartik and Sandesh. Also a big shout out to Steve Moris thanks for keeping us laughing and entertained, such a kind hearted person. And definitely not forgotten our state room attendant Andres You Rock !!!!! Being this is the first time on Princess cruise I was impressed by your hard work, when walking in to the room my shoes was arranged nicely where it was neatly lined up and easy to grab, the little trash in the bathroom and room was always discarded and bed was alway done nicely. Much appreciated for always having the bucket of ice filled in the early afternoon as well as at night before ending your shift. I give this 4 stars because there are some glitches that needs to be resolved from the medallion application to the online pre orders. Other than that the staffs are wonderful!!! read more

I have sailed with Princess to Alaska and to the Caribbean. I recently got back from a trip on the Ruby Princess where we left through Galveston and went to Roatan, Belize City, and Cozumel. The staff were friendly and helpful all around! The food and drinks were great!! We loved the relaxed feel of the ship. Extra points for the cold towels and cucumber water when getting back on the ship after a hot day out on the excursions at port! I would highly recommend a Princess cruise if you are ready to sit back and relax. The only downfall was the medallion and app system that they now have. The medallions for the most part worked impeccably, but when first arriving to get on the ship our info did not pull up with our medallions even though we had gotten them ahead of time and set it all up. The app ordering system worked great on port days when people were on and off the ship, but on days at sea when everyone was on the ship if you tried to order food or drinks through the app you were most likely not going to ever receive it or you were getting it hours later. I talked to a guest services person about the app and they said it has kinks and to just call room service instead. I love the idea of being able to order food and drinks from the app and it will be delivered to you wherever you are on the ship and when it worked it was great, but it was a little disappointing that it wasn't always reliable. This will not stop me from booking Princess in the future though. Overall I've had a fantastic experience with this company! read more

We cruised on the Ruby Princess, Sept 30, 2016. It was our first cruise. Our embarkation went relatively well. We got porters to help us with the luggage and the Pacific Princess crew were speedy in checking passengers in. The stateroom we selected had a balcony with an ocean view. There is a sliding door that open so you get fresh air and there's a small sitting area to lounge at in the balcony. Our stateroom was not really spacious, but was it served our needs. There was a small fridge, TV, sitting area, and a decent size room. Service was generally very good. Our stateroom steward and servers at dinner were consistently very good. Food wise, I would say dinner was better at the dining room than the buffet. We had filet of beef and shrimp one night, seafood stew another night and a really good chicken pot pie. Salads and soups were always fresh and tasty. All of the meals we had at the buffet were just average. Some good and some I would rather forget. We bought the non-alcoholic beverage package which was $7 per person, per day plus gratuities. It was worth it since we drank lots of things but didn't realize that if you wanted bottled water, that was a separate charge and not included in the beverage package. Virgin cocktails are included in this beverage package though. Two things did not I well on the cruise. First, the dedicated kids play area was closed because they didn't have any crew members to work their. That's what we were told and a few other families. Next, one of the elevators was out of service for most of the cruise. Not cool. Also, they need to be better organized in getting people off the cruise. Many people didn't know where to go to line up so they crowded around and just followed others. read more

Do not go with Princess when looking at your cruising options. We selected Princess to go on with 6 other couples for our wedding. Their wedding package offered online was never able to be booked. Then I tried to reach out to Princess customer relations for help, they still have not responded to me. We went on our Alaskan cruise Sept 7th. Like I said, no one has replied to my complaints or request for help (in May 2022). After the cruise, I was asked to complete a survey, which I did and have not received a response from Princess. The live entertainment on ship could have been better. They had one magic show, one late night comedy show... they definitely should have stepped up their shows. I didn't receive my bottle of champagne and roses for the wedding celebration event either. So much went wrong. I wish I would have done more research and read the reviews, especially since I was planning my wedding with other couples going. read more

So most reviews are for Cruises to Mexico or Alaska, but mine is for the Baltic Sea. This 11 day Cruise is a wonderful way to visit 7 countries without having to pack and unpack your clothes and sleep your stuff from place to place. The highlight for me was Copenhagen. The people are wonderfully warm and kind. Yes they pay high taxes, but the overall standard of living has is beat. It really must be experienced. The stop over in St Petersburg was eye opening. Am I the only one who did not know that Russia was a slave nation that capitalized on free labor of serfs until 1861? Or that President Abraham Lincoln and Czar Alexander II met to discuss how they would handle emancipation in their own countries? I tell you travel broadens the mind. The subways in St. Petersburg and some of the structures including the Hermitage were really awesome. read more

Got a FREE cruise and who could say no to that?!? Typically I do not cruise (for many reasons) but the top reasons are: Horrible food Tiny showers (no tubs) unless you splurge on a suite Very short port stops (way too short) Vegas on water (I live in Vegas so I enjoy getting away from it) Tons of people!!! So here's what I enjoy about cruising - ocean sunrises & sunsets, I didn't miss any! Reading books! I read 3 books in 7 days! Being rocked to sleep by the ocean each evening, slept like a baby! The piña coladas are awesome! The hospitality is so warm! Everyone for the most part is from different countries and work their asses off for YOU! The Sanctuary (a hidden oasis) for adults only!!!! Similar to an outdoor spa where you receive personal service such as massages, tea service, food & beverage, all in your very own comfortable & plush sunbathing chaise. It'll cost you $20 for half a day or $40 for a full day per person per day and it's 100% worth it if you want to get away from all the chaos around the boat. Disconnecting from the world on sea days! A few things to keep in mind, these ships keep getting bigger & bigger! The boat I was on, the Royal Princess holds just over 4K guests and 1,300 employees! Bigger isn't necessarily always better (in my opinion). The endless buffets are BIG and so is everyone's appetite on these type of trips. It's like eating banquet food...mediocre at best and never served warm enough or cooked properly. I found the overall food prep really depressing. Either it's time to find a new head chef or allow him to season food with garlic, butter, salt & pepper, etc. I found a few things I enjoyed and stuck to eating them all week. Movies under the Stars is a fun concept (huge outdoor movie screen near the main pool) but you should play good movies. The movies on our cruise were weak AF. Excursions are all double the price of what you can pay for them at port. Don't book on the ship and overpay for everything. Princess is also falsely advertising certain excursions and still didn't assist me with a huge problem I had on one of them. I don't have the time or energy right now to go through the chaos we experienced from start to finish, but I'm posting now to say that I have been on hold now - right now - for 1 hour and 41 minutes. All I need is some vitamin sea! Because sunsets are always better on a cruise. I just took my first cruise on Princess Cruises last month! The pros and cons on Crown Princess: Pros: -Staff was nice and friendly. No complaints there. Just like other cruise lines their staff really goes out of their way to help you. -It was a perfect boat for my mom. She is 71 and a lot of the passengers were older, so they are really accommodating with people that are older or that are disabled. They are very kind and patient to elderly people and understand what their needs are. -Every night they had movies in the stars on the top of the deck, and I enjoyed these! They provide blankets and popcorn even though I just watched the movies from the Jacuzzi. -They offered a great itinerary that allowed us to get off the boat 9 days on a 10 day cruise. Not many cruises had this! Loved that! -They leave a piece of chocolate on your pillow! Yes please! -They had a beautiful area called The Sanctuary that is above the spa. It's a relaxation area, with big cabanas the only thing is you had to pay $20 a day. Cons: -The crowd was a lot older than me, I was one of the youngest people on the boat. Even though this worked for my mom it's sucked a little for me. -The buffet area was so small. I couldn't believe it accommodated the whole boat. I prefer more choices. I've been on several cruise lines now and this boat had the smallest selection I've ever seen. Most people seemed happy with these choices, but I was disappointed. I like lots of options! -Food was average and there was a lot of meat, vegetable, and potato. I felt like the food catered to an older crowd. That was ok because this boat was for older people, however even their junk food wasn't that good. They had a place for burgers, fries, pizza and other choices but they weren't that good. Especially the pizza. Carnival has much better pizza! -Princess was a lot more expensive than I'm used to paying for a cruise. I wanted a balcony like I usually get and it was going to run me over $6500 for 2 people. I got a balcony on Royal Caribbean and Carnival for $2000 for two people a few months ago. I understand they charge different prices for different itineraries but it's just hard to pay so much more for a boat that seems the same or less. -No Towel animals. :-( I love getting those! -Dining room selection wasn't that great and I never saw our waiters do any dancing. Coffee wasn't that good. I bought an additional coffee card for $31 to buy specialty coffee drinks. (Average price for cruises) They didn't have almond milk but they did have soy milk. Understandably, not everyone can accommodate all your needs. -Desserts weren't that great, but I'm finding out that in most buffets they are all pretty bad, especially other cruise lines. -The excursions were so boring. On all my other cruises I like to book an excursion every day and I didn't want to book any on this last cruise. I'm not sure if it's Princess Cruises or if it was just the itinerary. -I wasn't thrilled with their activities on the boat, once again probably because this is a different age group and I was a bit bored. -The shows were really crowded and if we wanted to see one we would need to go 45 minutes to half an hour early to actually see a show. In conclusion, I think Princess cruise lines is a WONDERFUL choice for the age group 55 and up. They are catering to an older crowd and that's important when you're looking for cruise line. Even with all these cons I would definitely go back to take my mom on another trip. This trip was not about me it was about my mom so it worked out perfect! read more

You couldn't get a bottle of water on this ship if your life depended on it. Somebody somewhere thought it would be a genius idea to decrease every drink available on this ship, severely reduced drink service in the casino, no more hot chocolate anywhere, no more water bottles in our suite and the only way I could get a glass of milk was through room service delivery. There was also a 3 day delay in discovering what are true amenities were in regards to our suite. It was a 5 day cruise. For the record, if you have a suite you get private "club class" anytime dining, you get spa thermal suite access and priority tender and priority disembarkation. I last sailed with Princess 5 years ago, they went from being the best to yet worst in that time. I hope they take everyone's feedback very seriously and make some much needed improvements. read more

Ok folks....be aware. This company does not have its act together. I booked a cruise. I requested an upgrade and put in three bids. All refused. Called and asked why and if there was another process. Was informed by Princess Rep. they could not talk with me but told to call the website where I booked cruise. The cruise wholesaler called Princess and was told I was not eligible for upgrade. I then received an email from Princess to upgrade. I accepted. The day before my cruise they pulled the offer. Called Princess and asked why the offer was pulled. Again, was told they could not speak with me. The cruise wholeseller was not able to get an explanation either. This was emotionally challenging - getting ones hopes up and then pulling the offer. I don't think this cruise will be one of my favorites. Good luck if you choose Princess- it seems like its a crap shoot. I will say the Princess reps were cordial but not helpful. Why a company would contact a customer with an offer and then say "sorry we won't honor the offer". read more

Haven't even taken our trip yet. Called Princess to book a 111 day cruise starting in January 2023 from Los Angeles to Los Angeles. Spoke to their customer service representative and booked our cruise. Included per their person were tips and the alcohol package. Never received a confirmation even after leaving our deposit. Called back and requested and email confirmation only to find out the person we booked with did not include either perk. The cost for these items is more than $19,000 total. Management promised to review the recording and get back with me. Never happened. Oh, did I mention our $12,500 deposit is non-refundable. What a racket! This is how you treat your guests??? Great service, food, entertainment, all around great cruising experience. I decided to write this in light of what Japan is doing to the Diamond. Lovely ship, yes people are found with a virus, but Japan to keep the whole ship there? This forces people NOT exposed to the virus, to now be forced to live around it for 14 days. That's a bad call by the Japanese government. Princess has risen above and beyond. They are taking care of guests, trying to keep them entertained and happy. What is Japan doing. Yup nothing. We've cruises on over 260 days on Princess alone. Great company, hard working employees, and they even are friendly with the entitled millennial types. Good on ya Princess. Back to reality and I'd rather be back on a Princess Cruise Line. Phone rep was excellent in guiding me through how my complimentary cruise for two would work and what to expect. Their shuttle driver found me easily at the airport and got me to the pier under 15 minutes. From there a staff member would direct you two which staff was available to check you in. A nice staff member walked me over to two of her co-workers talking amongst themselves and as she said "excuse me" to get their attention to help the anticipating hoards that was about to invade them. They didn't even glanced at her. Totally ignored their co-worker not paying attention and not giving a damn. I stood back thinking wow they aren't even paying attention to you. I felt bad for this nice lady trying to help me. Eventually a nice gent got me my medallion and off I went into the waiting area. Huge waiting area like the DMV. I thought I'd be in here forever but not even 5 minutes I was called to board. So from the check in to my room was no more than 10 minutes. That's pretty awesome. The Princess Cruise line is huge and I didn't know which direction I was walking many times and I kept screwing up where my room was. I lost all sense of direction, time, day, date and I was absolutely fine with it. 3 other cruise lines were along side us and at port some told me their boat rocked at dinner and made some them sick. I didn't feel much movement which was great. I did throw up once early on but that was only coz I ate too much. I'm on a cruise and can have anything I want, as much as I want, anytime I want, so I did. They do a great job at posting daily itineraries. All of the activities I went to were well organized and fun. I fit perfect with the demographic Princess is known to have onboard. More mature well mannered crowd that knows how to have fun and also knows how to quiet down and relax. Very friendly and approachable crowd. Their staff is a fantastic international mix which I also luv. Hard working and always had the boat looking clean. The disembarking process was as easy as the boarding process although I did have to wait about 20 minutes which was fine. Baggage was quick and shuttles were on hand to take us back to the airport. Very smooth process. These are the reasons why I'm going to cruise with them again. It's better than real life. They're the only ones that have the medallion technology and it's brilliant. I couldn't add princess protection plan when I needed to a day after. The problem was it was booked on friday and held to saturday and I couldn't get a hold of anyone on the phone to add the plan on saturday. The Princess experience is well summed up in their motto "Come back new" and their cruises promote relaxation, healing, and pampering. If you are looking for a cruise line with flashy celebrity restaurants, water slides, skydiving simulators, and lots of partying, Princess isn't the cruise for you (try RCI or Carnival). Princess ships tend to be peaceful and tranquil, elegantly designed, and very well kept. Movies Under The Stars (MUTS) and their private cabana massages are my favorite at-sea activities on any cruise line. Medallion Class cruises are vacation changing! We were on a seven day Alaskan cruise, and the cruise itself was great. Unfortunately, princess canceled one of our shore excursions and told us that we would get that money refunded at the end of our trip. However, they failed to explain that you have to wait eight weeks to get a check in the mail. Princess expects you to have your cruise paid in full when you step off the ship but if you are owed money, they have no problem waiting 8 weeks to pay you. Just want to make everybody aware of their policy and if you feel that is acceptable to wait eight weeks then by all means book with his company read more
