I came in excited to get my nails done, and what I got was not what I asked for, I asked for a pink and white ombre, i like my nails on the longer side and the lady cut the nails before asking me length and when I said longer, she kept filing the shorter, not to mention, she cut up my fingers, and when I told her this is not what I wanted, and kept asking her to fix she did not. The top coat is a rough texture, and even has hair sticking to it. Keep in mind I got a gel full set, and she did not even add a gel top coat. I had to drive down the street and go to a new salon immediately after to get my nails redone because she refused to help me. Walked in and needed a regular manicure, even on a weekend they were able to take me right away. The staff were nice and she even suggested adding glitter to my nails free of cost and it made them look even better. While the nails are cheap the inside kind of looks cheap too, but seemed clean, so if you can get over the small cluttered space it's a perfect cheap place to get your nails done! read more

After Paige's review I decided to follow up with a picture of my fat feet lol so you can see that even after more than a week of heels my toes are not chipped at all. I've traveled for work and not been able to see them for a month... and my toes never chipped. Sure the polish grew out from the back so I touched it up with clear, but I cannot say enough good things. It's never smelled like pee when I've gone there. Now it has smelled like asain food so if you don't like that, then ya, it probably stinks. They always seem to have a pot luck going on but always offer their patrons some. You can tell who the regulars are because I see them every time. We're a loyal bunch. If you go at 4:30-6, they are jam packed. I always try to get in a little early if I can. Again - Tammy is the absolute best for ingrown toe nails. It will hurt getting it out, but if you suffer from them, it's much cheaper than seeing the doctor. read more

I Came in for a new set of acrylics. I was super impressed with the shape and way they lasted. The new set was 25. On Friday I came in for a fill 2 weeks later. The fill was $27. By Tuesday, 3 of my nails had popped off completely. I came back in and the lady was happy to fix them...She super glued them underneath my nails to help them stay on. Unfortunately when they started to grow my fingers were SO sensitive and started bleeding as the ripped apart from the glued skin. I've been going to this nail salon for the past 8 years, and I've had my share of nail salons. I grew up in Lake Forest, and although I don't live in the area anymore, I will make the trek down to specifically get my nails done at this salon. The salon is clean, and they have a variety of polishes and gel polishes. Referencing the last review, I have witnessed the 'Asian food' smells before, and this usually goes for most of the nail salons across the board (even Happy Nails)..I guess there just isn't sufficient ventilation to air out that smell, so if it bothers you, try not to go around lunch time. 3 days ago I had acrylics and gel polish done ($35), and I just love that they have a huge selection of colors. I used IBD gel colors, you can see how they turned out in the photo I posted. I specifically asked for short tips, and a light layer of acrylics since I don't like how heavy it feels when other nail salons have applied acrylics. Although I am Vietnamese and can somewhat communicate with the ladies in Vietnamese (as well as understand, which, at Princess nails I have never heard the technicians talk about any of the clients), you need to be as specific as possible when it comes to what you want your nails to look like, if you say 'short', 'rounded' is not enough, you need to try to show/explain to them, I asked that my nails be trimmed and filed down to the tip of my finger as well that I wanted a thin layer of acrylics or else I would not have acrylics done, and so they were. I have always been greeted upon entering the salon, and have noticed that maybe 1 out of 7 people that walk through the door for the duration that I'm having my nails done are not greeted due to the technicians being busy and maybe did not noticed someone walking through the door. I've found that when I go mid morning (10:30am-12pm) there hasn't been a wait and I can be helped right away. But in the afternoon (1:30-4pm) there will be at least a 15-20min wait. This happens at every salon, if you see that every technician is occupied, it usually will not be a '10 minute wait', they want the business, so they will tell you that it's only '10 minutes',. So if you don't want to wait around they don't stay. If you do see that a technician is finishing up a mani, pedi, etc by applying polish, then usually they will be free within 10 minutes to help you. The technicians are very helpful if you need assistance to put your shoes on, or grab your purse so that you don't 'mess up' your nails, and if you accidentally 'mess up' the polish, they won't hesitate to fix it. When I've had manis, acrylics, etc done, they have last 1-1.5 weeks, and keep in mind I am a nail biter, but haven't experience chipping (just me picking at my nails). I will be going back to get a color gel change! read more

If they don't like my review instead of attacking me and telling me I was wrong to explain my experience they should just take it to heart and make some changes. I didn't have time for a pedicure. Lets see... walk in. Dingy. Old. Kind of gross. One older woman getting a pedicure. I ask for my eyebrows and they start speaking a foreign language. A lady emerges out of her wax room on the phone. Nobody says anything to me in English. Still standing there. They then motion to me and the lady on the phone in an irritated voice says "come here". She shuts the door on me after telling me to lay down and continues her call. When she comes in asking what I want I tell her just my eyebrows. She then asks me three times about my upper lip. I said no thanks. She said ten dollars for eyebrow or fifteen for both. I say no again and she moves on... or so I think. She starts asking me a million questions about my eyebrows. Then after she is done she says, "let me see your lip". Takes the mirror, turns it on, moves it right over my face and says "oh no you dont need it". NO ****! I have like transparent blonde hair on my entire body. So freaking frustrating to be asked so many times. Like when you go to Happy Nails and they want to push every upgrade possible fourteen times! Then upon check out I was told there was a $2 charge for card. Honestly, that is ridiculous. She proceeded to blame the owners for this charge. Who doesn't use card these days? So I was forced to use cash which I didn't want to use. THEN she just assumed I wanted $1s back. I think that is a huge no no. Do not assume you get a tip. A tip is earned and of course I was going to leave one but that isn't the point. You do not give me $10 in 1's. I was so mad!!! Terrible customer service. read more

I've tried this salon twice and all I can say is they are far from top quaility. One of my nails broke the next day (not their fault) and I called I was told to come right in and I was treated very strange! I had the gel nails done and just needed a repair. The gal that did my nails the day before never even said Hi to me or acted like she knew who I was. I would go here if I needed a quicky but they are not cheap! I had been going to this location because of the proximity to my house. One morning, I dropped by to see if they could fit me in. One of the women working there said that they could get to me in about half an hour. I went home, came back half an hour later, and she looked at me as though irritated I had come back. While the interior of the store may not be perfect I give them 5 stars for the service and price. I went in for a wax. The lady who worked with me was quick, thorough and I felt minimum pain. I love this salon. Everyone is super friendly and nice. You never feel they are talking badly about you in a different language like at a lot of other salons. They have never tried to upsell me. I've even asked if I should get my cuticles cut and I was told they weren't bad and I could wait until next time. Helen is the girl I see for my full gel sets/fills. She is very sweet and super fast and through. She does an amazing job. I usually go every 2 1/2 weeks for a fill and I haven't broken or chipped a nail yet within that timeframe. Like the previous review said, it's not the prettiest place in the world. The bathroom is gross, the waiting chairs have stains on them... The yellowing lace window covers look like they came out of the Haunted Mansion's garage sale. However, the massage chair was nice, and my gel nails are okay, but my pedicure is a mess. They charged me $5 extra for a flower design, and the flower is sloppy. She tried to fix it by putting more nail polish on it, but it just covered the gem on the inside, and it looks like a 2 year old's art project gone wrong. The reason I didn't give one star is because my gels are decent. It's not a place I'd return to though. read more
