Priority Moving did a great job with our big move....we would recommend them for any size move and to any of our friends and family. That's saying a lot! We had to go from University Heights out to the East end of El Cajon! They had 9 other moves going on that day (a Saturday) and still were able to get there on time and get the job done. Lots of big furniture and they took good care of everything. Our only casualty: Our large fountain got beaten up during the ride, but they have sent us a claim form and were very courteous about getting us set up with the forms and what to do to get it replaced, etc. Carlos was great when he came the first day to write up the contract and remembered us BY NAME when he ran into us again in Toys R Us months later! Did my first cross-country move, from San Diego to Chicago. Found Priority on Yelp, and you Yelpers didn't let me down. The sales manager handled my account personally, and they coordinated and communicated well throughout the stages. They arrived early for pickup, which threw me off a little, but I was paying by weight and not time so it was ok. I liked their process of tagging each item and numbering it, although it might have been faster if they were doing a scanner instead of manually recording the items. On the delivery end, they got to Chicago really fast and worked with my building manager to facilitate the truck entry to our secure garage. Unload was super fast, friendly and efficient. Moving on crutches....my worst nightmare, which I was faced with a few months ago. I read all of the positive reviews about Priority and thought this seemed like the best choice in my predicament. Not only were the guys friendly and funny, but they moved fast, and helped me pack up the last minute items that I hadn't gotten to in time. These guys were great. I'm usually a crappy tipper when it comes to movers because they generally are not that good. The guys busted ass to get done quickly, and i appreciate that. They weren't smartasses, they had good attitudes. They didnt mess anything up either, which is good. Ohmygosh, our movers were absolutely SENSATIONAL! They arrived 15 minutes early (early, 6:45am - yawn!) and were all smiles. Cristian, Jeremy, and Anthony were nicely dressed, clean, and ready to work. And WORK they did! LOVED how the entry door way at both locations were wrapped with a huge pad. I even took a photo! We were stunned that even our Target lamp shades (haaa!) were handled with as much care as our high-end furniture. Everything was wrapped and protected professionally. Cristian had to disassemble and assemble my huge heavy over 100-yr old dining room table and did it as if it was his own. Gently and with extreme care. We recently moved from downtown San Diego from an 800 sq ft apartment to San Marcos and a 2300 sq ft home. We knew this would be a bit of a complicated move since we would have to deal with downtown and all the fun that comes with it on one end and then having a 2 story home on the other end. We had previously moved with Wheaton Van Lines from Kansas to San Diego and had a great experience, so since Priority is an agent of Wheaton, we decided to go with them. Now, it should be noted that hiring movers is not cheap and anyone who expects to bust out their move in 2 hours is being unrealistic. Even coming out of 800 sq ft and getting rid of most of our large furniture prior to the move, it still took a total of 6.5 hours to move (not counting drive time) and that's with some expert packing on my end to get everything ready. And while Priority may not be the cheapest alternative out there, remember that you pay for what you get. We were well satisfied with the price for the service we received. The three movers assigned to us were quick and professional and handled the challenges of our move well. They padded the doors and put down padding so the carpets would stay clean and the walls intact. They were quick to get things out and were very accommodating in moving everything into the correct rooms upon arrival. I was also happy with the customer service I received over the phone, both pre- and post move. I hope we don't have to move again any time soon, but if we did I'd definitely use Priority again. read more

My girlfriend and I moved in from 2 locations into a new place. I selected Priority Moving as they were recommended by both our new building's management office and by the couple who we are renting from. The response from the main office was excellent, the service very well explained. My move was set up via a phone call of less than 15 minutes. The movers got home on time, were super friendly (mostly because I was wearing a Chargers t-shirt haha), and they were extremely efficient. Kudos to Larry, Aaron and Bruce from Priority Moving!!! They made our move from a high-rise condo in Little Italy to a home in Point Loma seem effortless. These guys really worked their tails off on our behalf. We even had some pizza and shared some laughs throughout the day. They were on time, called ahead to let me know they were on the way and really put in a solid day of work! These guys care for your possessions as if they were their own and really work to minimize the dings and scrapes you expect from a move. I'd also like to commend the entire crew at Priority on the move process. I received a prompt call after I did the online estimate and we discussed our move in detail. I later received a phone call and personal e-mail, not one of those "do not respond to this address mass e-mails" to confirm the move date. We moved on April 16th - from Chula Vista to Kensington. My movers were Jesus, Cody and Scott. They arrived on time and were very efficient and careful in the entire move. I had most of the little things packed but they wrapped all of the furniture carefully and transported everything (including the boxes that I'd packed). They were courteous, respectful and just overall good people. Helpful in getting everything set in the right place in the new house. They also help re-assemble anything that they had to dis-assemble for the move (e.g., beds, dining room table, mirror on bedroom dresser, etc.). Overall, great experience. It has been LONG overdo since I made a review about them! I recently moved about more than 6months ago, I was by myself and needed to move an entire apartment to storage, because my man was on deployment, and I had no truck at all. Through yelp, I found Priority Moving! They were three guys, I forget the name but they had awesome team work. They would throw jokes at each other about how they work, it was funny. However, they had everything you can think of to help you move, and items that were heavy to me aka my old huge dresser from my mother, they were able to move it! crazy! I was somewhat disappointed in the timing though, because I know I was being charged by the hour, and I TRIED to put all my ready packed items in the front, so all they could do is carry it out and put it in the truck. I lived in a 4story apartment complex WITH an elevator. SO, I had three guys, but it seemed like they were taking their time! I was anxious because I had about only $300 or less in my bank account, HOPING it was going to be less than a few hours. WRONG. When we finally got to storage and tetris'ed my items in there, it finally got down to paying with my card. Guess what? my bill was about $400!!!! I almost fainted, because I gave the card, and of course what did it say? DENIED. HOWEVER, the guys called up their manager and asked if I can pay whatever what was LEFT in my bank account (great, there goes my groceries for about 2wks and GAS! oh the life of a college student too) Luckily, their manager authorized them and took all what was in my bank, and I paid the rest on the next payday. *sigh, total bummer not only was I broke, but they took my storage key that way, I can PAY them. I haven't gotten my key back yet because I have to DRIVE all the way from otay ranch to clairemont/mira mesa area?! I don't even know if they still have it because it's been that long. All in all, the service was great. Nothing was really damaged, found a few scratches but very minor. Just really overpriced for a girl on a budget like me. I'm glad they worked with me though on the bill, I really appreciate that. I think I'll suffer next time and move things myself. read more

I hired Priority after finding them on Yelp and seeing their good reviews -- and after a co-worker separately confirmed that he had a good experience with them. Over all, I thought they were great. We'll start with the bad and get that out of the way. I caught these guys on the day after a holiday, so there was some sort of scheduling snafu. The moving crew showed up 2.5 hours late and the dispatch person at the office kept promising they'd be there "soon." Second negative - they ended up scratching a TV console/cabinet. Mid-morning I got in touch with a manager (Ira) and this was still before the crew had arrived. Like any good businessman, Ira understands that mistakes will happen. What separates the good from the great is how you handle those mistakes. Basically, he asked me what they needed to do in order to make the situation right. Gold star right there. It's all about the effort - from then on, I was a fan. The crew showed up and were very courteous, worked quickly and carefully, and got my monster couch down the stairs and out the door without a scratch. After it was all said and done, I got a little back on the scratched cabinet and the company was able to compensate me for getting started so late. I'm a fan and will definitely use these guys again when/if I move. read more

Thousands of dollars in damage through reckless, unprofessional and negligent service. The moving company that did the unload on the east coast said they had never seen anything like it. No one from the company besides the receptionist would take my calls. Never got an apology and then they refused to pay the claim. They wrote that the company had filed chapter 11 and closed the doors. Still looks like they are in business now from what I can see online. Would clearly NOT RECOMMEND PRIORITY MOVING. read more

Our moving team was awesome! They came in and finished a 2 day job in just 1 day bc they straight hustled. Geoffrey was an animal. He packed up 4 full rooms in like 3 hours- it was awesome. And we're not talking "throw all your junk in a box and move on." No, he carefully wrapped every. single. thing. and made sure it was all cozy & secure. Donnie was organized and totally knowledgeable. He was super fixable when we kept forgetting to tell him what was going and what was staying. Marcus was the quiet force to be reckoned with. He wrapped up our couches in layers and layers of blankets and Saran Wrap then he'd just huck them on his shoulder and march them outside like it was nothing. Perhaps he's a superhero in disguise? After reading a bunch of Yelp reviews, I called 2 moving companies and Priority Moving was the first to answer my call. I'm so glad I went with them! The entire process, from start (getting a quote and estimate) to finish was efficient and pretty seamless. I've never had to hire movers before and I've always heard horror stories - so being a bit paranoid, I was keeping my eye on everything during the move. With that said I was very impressed in the end and now I can say that I my perception of moving companies have changed! Another plus, is that the movers have been in the industry for many years - so we didn't get any rookies or inexperienced movers. The 3 movers took good care of everything and they even moved some of my mother-in-law's items that weren't necessarily in boxes. We got everything done in 4 hours (moving from a 4 bedroom house, stopping at the storage facility, then our final destination). I highly recommend Priority Moving and they'll be my go-to company when I move again in the future. read more

Priority Moving is really great. As others have pointed out, it's best to have everything packed when they get there, because they are FAST. They will disassemble/reassemble furniture for you, but it does take time. They provide wardrobe boxes, bins, etc. and they said light items don't need to be taken out of drawers. Basically, you'll want to have everything packed but your clothes/shoes, which you can easily put in a wardrobe box or two. Very good movers and I would use them again. read more

A friend of mine decided to have an unforgettable spring time wedding in San Diego where he and his fiance lived up until the big day. Even more unforgettable was he called upon his friends to haul all his crap from San Dog (is that how they say it?) to Portland. I've got a better idea, calling the movers because there's no way I'm spending an extra weekend moving my bud's stuff. All he cared about was getting it from one place to another, am I right? So .... I didn't tell him a thing, we got you covered buddy! I had called in advance to let the guys at Priority know I had swindled my buddy into believing we were doing the hard work. When the truck showed up EARLY, the guys at the wheel chuckled when I asked them to park out of sight until they saw the just married couple head off to the airport. After the newlyweds flew the coop, they pulled up made conversation and we booked it back to Portland. What seemed like no time at all I got a call letting me know they were in town with the truck ready to unload. "You're the wedding guy right?" And met up at my friend's new NEW place. The whole thing couldn't have gone better, stressful wedding, travel, and coordinating a million things. If there's one thing I didn't have to worry about it was these guys moving home boys belongings. Everything came through in the move, unlike my local experience with "All my Sons" up here in PDX. (all of our lamps vanished!) Don't worry I let my friend in on the deal when he noticed all the neatly stacked boxes at home and careful placement of all the "heavy" furniture. I just got a big smirk and offer to pay the tab. Priority was pretty reasonable though, so I just chalked it up to a wedding present. Major points, thanks guys. I am sad that I have to give a star for this review. It was that bad. We had an agreement to have our belongings delivered within a few days of us arriving. It arrived several weeks after that. Too concerned about their own liability to try to work things out with us. We had to just sleep on the floors of our empty house until things got here. Once our things finally did get here, we discovered someone else's chairs in our belongings. So the way Priority Moving works is that they pick up your things, put them in a warehouse and then find some driver to drive it to your destination. As they work it out with drivers, they're constantly moving stuff around in that warehouse, hence some other client's belongings ended in mine. I absolutely despise this company. read more

First, I do not know how they have 4 stars when they have deleted or labeled reviews not recommended. Secondly, they are contracted with Arpin Van Lines. *There is a lack of communication *Lie about delivery window (please see other reviews,mostly those not recommended) *No one know how to get a hold of the driver and cannot call dispatch directly. Can't they radio him? *It takes days for them to relay information after customer initial contact. *The lack of accountability of the driver is why customer things end up missing. *They take on other contracts after customer pick up which is why they do not make there delivery window. Unfortunately, I did not do my homework as I usually do prior to signing a contract. That was the biggest mistake and has cause much headache and stress. I had someone come out and do a home estimate. The person was friendly and professional. The gentleman Don Carlson was eager to get our business. They even lowered the price by applying a bunch of discounts. Because this was a personal move without the military, we were looking for something cheap, but *remember* you get what you pay for. Prior to pick up, I notified Priority I needed an extra stop and was told to talk to the driver. On the day of pick up, a driver arrived (I never received prior notification as to when they would be coming) and took inventory and loaded our things. He was not friendly at all. I notified him of the extra stop and I was told I would be contacted by the driver who would be actually handling our furniture. I never received the weight of the furniture until the 3rd day. I actually had to call Ms. Christina D. She said she had to get back to me (which is a way too common phrase. My items were picked up on April 11th and I was given a delivery time frame of April 13 and April 21. In between that I had not heard from anyone and called Christina to find out about delivery. She has no clue where the driver was. It took a day or two to get back to me about our shipment. I was told the driver was a week behind schedule and my things would not be delivered until April 28th. No one bothered to contact me about the delay and no one had information when I kept calling. I got tired of going through the middle man and asked for Arpin Van Lines contact. I talked to Chris Kumkin out of headquarters and he was not able to get information. On April 22nd I was contacted to say my things would be delivered on the 26th. On the 25th I called to confirm things were still on schedule and Arpin had no clue where the driver is and she would have to get back to me. I have only move with one other company (United Van Lines). I had a couple things missing, but I ALWAYS had communication with the drive via his cell phone and things were always delivered within 2-3 days. For the people that work at Priority and Arpin Van Line, you should be ashamed to work for such a poor and irresponsible company read more

Today while cycling by one of their moving trucks the passenger in the truck threw some trash out his window right in front of my bike nearly hitting me. When I confronted him about it at the stoplight he just yelled back at me. I took a photo with my phone so I have his info. Well I called the business to talk to the owner an apparently he has been "on the phone" all day and can't talk to me. I guess the apples (employees) don't fall far from the tree (owner). I would never do business with a company who won't even call back a citizen after his movers throw trash at them, not really a stand up businessman in my book. One word. Amazing. I've had bad experiences with movers before, and was a little weary of doing it again. I scoured Yelp for the best local movers, and Priority came up in a landslide. I moved from a three bedroom townhouse in Golden Hill to a loft in Little Italy. I knew i had a lot of stuff, and requested 4 movers. They arrived promptly at 10 - and got to work right away. It took them about 2 hours to empty the place. They were friendly and cordial - and before I knew it my whole place was loaded into the back of the truck. When we got to the new place, i offered to go get them food - but they seemed intent on finishing the job. Everything in its place, faster than I could have ever wished for. We forgot some screws at my old house, and one of the guys drove me back to get them. By the time we got back the job was done - and a box of cookies was sitting on my table. I would recommend Priority Moving to anyone - hands down. The price was exactly as quoted, and reasonable as well. read more

The team lead, Benjamin, explained everything to us in simple terms and gave us the impression that his team really cared about the safe transport of our property... and they absolutely proved it! We never once saw anyone from the four man team standing around, tirelessly moving our household goods in a methodical and safe manner. When everything was said and done Benjamin took the time to clearly explain the rate (which they have printed and laminated so there's no suprises) that we were charged and even called into the office to get us a military discount. Don't use anyone else! I have moved more times than I'd like to remember and Priority Moving made this by far the best move of all. Quick, efficient, thorough, and friendly. We had to make a stop at my new place to drop off/pick up a few things before ultimately heading for storage. I had visions of this being a problem, but I couldn't have been farther off. The turn around was quick and we were unloading at the storage space in no time. As we were driving, I saw another broken down moving truck off the side of the road and I thought to myself, "they should have used Priority Moving!" HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!!!! These guys were supposed to show up 8-10am and showed up at 12:30pm and then Left early without all of our belongings. We are a military family trying to get to our next duty station and have to check out of housing the next day. The said they'd come back before 9am check out. They once again showed up at 12pm. As we're leaving to CT we drop off trash at the community dumpster across the street about 2 blocks and what do we find? OUR COUCHES!!!!! The maintenance crew said, "oh yeah we found these on the grass right there and brought hem here. Still wrapped in plastic serran wrap." My $2000 couches left on the side of the road last night. Not even accounted for when checking back into their warehouse. Like nothing. So disgusting. Disgusting company and disgusting people. read more

To be fair, this review is four years late. We moved from CA to MI in 2014, and now that we're getting ready to move back, I find myself obsessing over making sure we do NOT have an experience like we did with Priority when we moved East four years ago. The movers showed up. There were supposed to be three of them but there were only two. One guy quit and walked off the job as soon as the team drove up to my condo. One of the remaining two happened to be on his FIRST DAY and it was his first move. It took these two guys over 10 hours to load up my 800 square foot condo. Basically one bedroom, one living room, one kitchen. They had also told us we could keep our clothes in our dressers and move them full, so we did.. But one of our dressers showed up to Michigan completely broken and unusable. We got like $30 for it per their claim policy. $30 for a $600 wooden dresser that they broke. Our wooden kitchen table also had a huge gash in the top, and a beautiful trunk that my dad had made was completely smashed. We really did feel bad for these two guys, but given that it took beyond all day to load us up, you'd think Priority could have sent in an emergency third person to help these poor guys? This was the moving company Arpin van lines pawned us off to, so I can tell you we are definitely not using Arpin this time. Maybe if you were moving locally, they'd be ok. But we were NOT pleased with our experience for having them for our cross country voyage. read more

I went with this company because of all the positive reviews. And I am so glad that I trusted yelp on this! I've had some bad experiences with movers in the past. Normally they are scary looking guys that kind of dilly dally to take up time. Not this company. First I want to start off with the front desk. They are really nice and professional. You can tell that they are very organized. They called a couple of days before the move because they noticed I accidentally gave them the wrong zip code and wanted to make sure everything was right. The crew showed up on time. They didn't look scary, a plus! And as soon as we signed some paper work they went straight to work. Like, no kidding, picked up the chair he was sitting on and started moving! Nothing was damaged. They let us use bins, and wardrobe boxes. We were really happy with the speed, effeciency and care they took. Oh, and the cookies they give you at they end is just a little cherry on top. Terrible. They lost stuff, broke stuff, didn't return calls. This was the worst move ever. And they delivered someone else's stuff. In hind sight I would have payed more to get my stuff here and in one piece. This was a long distance move from Cali to Texas. It took a little over a month to get all our things. read more

I used priority moving in november and I was charged the amount they quoted to me but due to a change in their system for billing and user error, I got charged two months later for another hundred dollars! What the hell! They bill you for something they made a mistake on and to top all that shit, they don't even inform the clients who are gonna be affected. That's just bad business. You don't make a mistake, penalize your clients and then don't even inform them. When I saw the possible fraudulent charge to my account, I immediately called them to inquire and that's when the truth was flushed out. Why did I have to do that?! I expected better business practices from a company I thought had a reputable reputation. For that I rated them one star! Before you use them make sure you make it clear how much and what charges you can expect so that you don't pay for their damn mistake. My advice, be diligent and check your account frequently as you can get charged for services not rendered and products not received . Be a smart consumer! It is nice to know that good companys take ACCOUNTABILITY which in this case Priority Moving apologized and corrected their mistakes. I only rated the company 1 star for this situation related to the billing. The employees who helped move my residence were efficient and friendly. If I were to utilize movers in the future, I would consider using them again..... Other companys would not have wanted to correct the situation and in this case, Priority Moving took responsibility and owned their mistake which is very big of them and impressive. read more

Do not use this service! I got screwed out of my money! I had to cancel my move. I did it in the appropriate amount of time and was therefore supposed to get a full refund. The first time I called, I was spoke to very rudely and dismissed.the lady would not even give me a reference number. I later called back asking about my refund, only to be told that they could not refund my money because the no longer dealt with the outside contractors anymore and that i had to take up the issue with my bank.
