Full disclosure: we did not use FF for flooring but it was through no fault on our end. We asked Albert for a quote and he was prompt in responding. He came the next day to assess the situation and he was professional. We needed to make sure all his insurance information was compliant with our HOA protocol, and the minute I asked him for that, he stopped responding to texts and phone calls for days at a time. He sent me his insurance and it wasn't compliant. He said he would talk to the HOA president and never called back. I can't say enough about Daniel and his team, hence the novel below. Pretty much everything you'd *hope* you get in a contractor, we had in Daniel. We hired FF to replace carpeting with wood on the top floor of our new house. He was a delight to work with, and we plan to hire him again to do any other floor work that comes up. We're just sad he doesn't handle other types of renovations. He's reliable, and a great project manager on top of a detail oriented executor. When unforeseen circumstances came up, he was proactive about letting us know what was happening, what our options were, and how they'd affect our budget and timeframe. That all said, the project was completed on time! He's exceptionally communicative. We got frequent updates from him via phone, in person and via text/images. We never wondered what the status of the work was, always felt in the know, and that he'd give us an honest run down. He truly values his customers and takes pride in his work. He was always flexible when it came to coordinating on site visits, choosing wood, and even offered to receive some of our big furniture deliveries at the house when we were unable. He bends over backwards to make us happy. He wanted to make sure that we were satisfied with every detail of the installation (which we were). We didn't pay him until we'd walked through and felt happy about the floors. Summary: Daniel is amazing and the craftsmanship and speed of their work is awesome. Daniel goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. Details: We got all the carpet in our 2 bedrooms replaced with laminate flooring. Initially I started with contacting various contractors based on their Yelp reviews. That is how I came across foreign floors and I gave them a call based on their good yelp reviews. Daniel came over the next day and measured my bedrooms. I told him that I already had laminate in the living room which was bought from Costco and I wanted to have the same one installed in bedrooms too. This meant that I wouldn't be buying flooring material from them but would need their installation services. Daniel helped me understand all the items that would be needed to get the flooring installed and provided a rough estimate of the expenses immediately. He also noticed that some of the existing mouldings in my living room were not exactly matching the flooring color and he offered to replace those too. I had a really good first impression of Daniel. He was very friendly, professional and not pushy at all. He understood my requirements and budget and did not try to upsell anything. Later that day he sent me the exact estimate for the work. I decided to go with foreign floors even though I had lower price available elsewhere. This was primarily because of Daniel since he is a genuine person who cares about the customers. An example of this was visible later when I had to buy the flooring material from Costco. This was my responsibility since I wasn't buying the material from foreign floors however Daniel offered to help me by coming to Costco with me and lifting the heavy boxes of laminate flooring, loading it up in my car and unloading them at my place. He did all this free of charge just to help me out. The entire work got done within 5 days since I first called foreign floors. No glitches, didn't need much supervision, great quality, frequent updates on exactly what's going on. Daniel visited the site often to ensure that the team was doing exactly what we decided. I'm so glad we found Foreign floors based on Yelp ratings. I contacted Albert and he showed up at our door within the same day. We had some old floors in our newly purchased home and I wasn't sure if they could be repaired. Albert explained that they would have to go and gave us an estimate. In the next couple of days, we went to Foreign floors and picked out the hardwood and tiles. The prices are reasonable for the great quality hardwood floors and they have plenty to choose from. Albert, Daniel and their crew came on time and did a stellar job in laying new floors. I was very impressed with their work ethics and attention to detail. We love the new hardwood floors and they are so much better than the old ones. During the installation, the floor inside a small closet was also redone, but the baseboards were forgotten. Foreign Floors did an excellent job installing engineered hardwood in our townhome in Morgan Hill. QUALITY OF WORK: 5 stars They showed up with a large crew to get the job done quickly. They seemed equally concerned with getting done quickly as with the quality of the installation and finished product. We love the floors! CUSTOMER SERVICE: 5 stars They had two main "foreman". Both of which were very considerate. They made sure to review tricky details with us so that it was installed the way we wanted. They let us know what time they would be arriving each day and were prompt. Since we were doing other work in our home at the same time, they kindly offered to put down protective paper when they were done so workers wouldn't scratch up the floors as they entered and exited each day. They also offered to install the quarter round trim in our kitchen for free, even though it was not really part of the price. COST: 5 stars Foreign Floors was very reasonably priced. We were originally going to install the baseboard ourselves to save money, but at FF's price, we just had them do it for us at the end of the installation. COMMUNICATION: 3 stars This was the only issue I had with Foreign Floors, and it doesn't seem like it was even their fault. About halfway through the first day of installation, I received a call that their was going to be an additional cost due to the condition of our subfloor. Without going into too much detail, basically Foreign Floors and the supplier of the flooring material had a miscommunication and the installation price was going to increase. I expressed my frustration and Albert with FF was very professional and understanding. He explained the situation and was able to reduce the additional cost down to an agreeable amount. I would NEVER EVER use this company again! We are looking to install new laminate floors to my new home. Daniel comes in and did a measurement. He seems to be a very nice person and his quote is reasonable so we have agreed to go with his service. Half way through the project, ugly things came along: 1. They messed up with the sink valve so it was leaking. They told me the builder did not install the sink correctly at the first place. Their people were all gone at that time, so we have to pay extra for a plumber to come fix it and have the sink and toilet installed back on. The plumber told us that the leaking was caused by inapproporate removal of the sink . So who is telling the lie? 2. They did not do a correct measurement on the stairs so they have request us to pay additional money for extra materials. The materials takes a few days to come in, so we basically have to move in with the stairs unfinished; 3. They messed up our baseboard. Daniel never mentioned anything about the baseboard issue. So basically they have removed our new baseboard and reinstalled after the floor is done. All baseboard were cracked and have small pin holes all over them. It is really ugly to look at. I argued with them, they said we will need to ask a painter to do the caulking and painting for the baseboard, which takes... approx $1000. Excuse me? You just happened to forgot to mention this to us before we agreeing to do the floor??? Or as a consumer i was suppose to know what is caulking and how that is not included in the flooring work??? 4. Finally they have came in and finished the stairs. After that they have send me a final bill, which is $150 more than the original invoice. I immediately wrote back and showed him the original invoice. He first claimed that his invoice is just for labor, so the final invoice is for labor only. I insists that the quote is for both material and labor, so whatever payment we made to the store should be counted toward the total invoice. He finally agreed so this ugly contract has finally comes to a end. Now we have to pay additional $150 for plumbing, $150 for extra materials, and maybe $1000 more for fixing the baseboard. Our entire house is new, now we have to live with those ugly baseboard. I would not recommend any friend to this company ever!!! read more

Responsiveness is what I look for in a vendor and Albert along with his crew are super responsive. I had to reschedule with Albert a few times and they were super professional about it. They knew their schedule and when best to start a project for optimized use of time. They completed my floors in 2 days. 1 day for demo and the other day for install. They were here until 10pm at night to ensure that it was done. He also came back to make sure things are a few days after. The movers scuffed up the stair nose and I told Albert. Our project was pretty urgent and we were getting a little desperate. Daniil not only agreed to work on it, but surprised us with an excellent quote (the best we'd received from 4 companies) They arrived on time and we were a little worried if a single guy can finish the job in one day. It wasn't easy as the tiles were hard and he was very careful not to break the underlying layer. We also had floor heating pipes which had to removed carefully. Finally, due to the tiles, there were lot of uneven areas which made installing the new flooring a challenge. We're extremely delighted with the outcome as he took time to do a perfect job. We were originally going through Lumber Liquidators, and after a slew of problems with the LL-associated contractor, we were really in a bind.
