Vacasa Charlie Batsch 5 reviews US Rated 1 out of 5 stars Updated just now TWTMC dont ever Use VACASA TWTMC, Over all our experience this last week at #29 Hidden Valley Condos Mammoth Lakes California was fun (outside.) It's just that when you spend this much money, (6 nights@ $1332) you expect everything to be in working order. The first day we were there, we looked at the fireplace. It turned out to be a wood pellet stove. Of which I was told a week before we arrived to bring my own wood for a fireplace which I packed a large heavy trash can in my van which took alot of room. (First inconvenience). After reading directions on how to work it, we got the pellet stove working a loud noise emitted from it, which I assumed was the auger moving the pellets into the fire box. So loud you couldn't hear the television even when the volume was turned way up. We immediately turned it off and tried again from the beginning of the directions with the same effect. Same the next morning also. I called Vacasa and reported the experience and the representative listened to it by which they said they would get someone to fix it. After 2 days of reporting it to Vacasa, they said a repair man would contact us. He contacted us on the 4th day of our 5 day vacation and said he would come by. Upon hearing me coughing from a cold I developed on the way to Mammoth, he said he would be by to fix it after we departed. Bummer. No stove the whole vacation, an amenity of great loss. Oh, well. 3rd day in, we had accumulated a few dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I decided to run the load, and the dishwasher ran without water. I checked the water supply, under the sink to see it was turned on. Being a California general building contractor, I knew where to look. I reported it to the repair man at the same time as reporting the stove. He wouldn't come for the same reason even though I told him I was better and over the cold. He heard me coughing and said he had been very sick 2 weeks before and was scared to get sick from me. 2nd bummer, no dishwasher for vacation. The 3rd day, the coffee maker broke down. Thankfully, I had brought an expresso machine with us. We sucked it up and had fun skiing anyway. I, as a contractor, have to have a finished home in order and inspect the said property to make sure all is in working order. Apparently, no one has inspected this unit in a while, and you need to run all appliances to make sure they work. Needless to say, we were unimpressed. We left yesterday. And now I'm seeking a 50% refund or same appropriate reduction for a future stay at one of the same units in Hidden Valley in the future. A Supervisor Sarah called me a week later and said she'd call back and never called back. Ever.... Please respond ASAP. Signed, Charlie Batsch Recap: Vacasa has refunded pittance of partial refund of $138 Never again will I use VACASA it was a 10% refund and I asked for 50% I should have got at least 25% I will never use VACASA again and advise others to do the same. They denied me and should be removed from travelocity where by the way I found them. This stinks and I'm posting this review on yelp next. Help Mr. Wizard (1,189 views

Unit's door is not illuminated so you have to tap in the code to the light of your cell phone. Bad start 2. No instructions for WiFi. Not even under the WiFi repeater. Inexcusable, I had specifically requested working WiFi. This is getting worse. 3. TV system has totally inoperative remotes. The main control has no battery door and is missing a battery. Stealing one from another remote did not cure it. Housekeeping must be incompetent. Upstairs TV remote has no batteries and it only gets Channel 3 with no way to control the cable box. Not acceptable. What's good? It is warm, water flows, electricity works. Let's see what happens tomorrow !

We shared a loft apartment (~$200 a night after taxes and fees). Very clean and comfortable, loved the in suite kitchen area, dining area, and in suite bathroom. The common area was also useful to get some quick tea / coffee, get filtered water and do some laundry. The atmosphere of the whole property is organized, clean, quiet, and friendly. Highly recommend for folks who are coming to Bishop for outdoor activities and want a relaxing and comfy experience.

I'm so glad we stayed here. We were two adults and one child and stayed in a private family room with one bed and a bunk bed. The bunk beds have little curtains which our kiddo liked. I didn't totally trust that the barrier on the top bunk was high enough to prevent my kiddo from falling off so I had her sleep in the bottom bunk. The room was small but we knew that and it was enough space for three of us. We loved how it was decorated down to the individually wrapped towels in the bathroom. No TV which I also liked and forced us to hang out together! We were on the second floor and there were comfy rocking chairs on the deck where we sat at night and enjoyed our wine. We were able to borrow the wine glasses in the community kitchen which was very convenient. We also spent time on the couches outside the kitchen and the Adirondack chairs in the yard - just a lot of open places to hang out which was nice. The airstream store is super cute. We didn't get a chance to try their coffee but did buy one of the treats and also some gifts from the gift shop and played yard games in front. Schatt's bakery is next door which was a nice bonus and we grabbed breakfast there in the morning and brought it back. The entire property was clean and well maintained. Walking distance to the bowling alley where we went for a couple hours to play and also get a delicious steak (yes from the bowling alley cafe - no joke!). We'd definitely stay here again when passing through Bishop.

Quite frankly, we were nightmare guests for this wonderful couple! First, we were all going to stay in one cottage, but upon arrival, Neil observed us trying to get my 88-year-old handicapped mother up the stairs inside. He consulted privately with Carol and very kindly offered us the unit below theirs that had the bathroom, bedroom, and living room on one floor. What a life saver! Mom and I stayed there--at no extra charge! I don't know what we would have done otherwise. Then when our car broke down in Yosemite Village, Neil drove us the almost 20 miles back to the village the next day, waited while we sorted out the car and a place to stay in the village, drove us to our next place, then helped us unload the bags into our lodging!! OMG. We were really astounded at Neil's graciousness, as well as Carol's. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well appointed. We strongly recommend anyone who wants reasonable rates close to Yosemite Village check out Cozy Bear. You can save a lot of money by bringing your own food, packing lunches, and enjoying this lovely little find nestled in the woods of Wawona.

She explained the fees and terms clearly and sent all the details by mail. She also very kindly allowed us to arrive before the 4pm check-in time when I explained we would be driving 4 hours from home with a cooler full of perishable groceries and wanted to drop them off in the refrigerator before proceeding on to the Valley for some site-seeing. Location was easy to find because I used Google maps prior to setting out. Good thing because our GPS got us to the road, but not to the specific address. Also helpful is that the entire Yosemite West neighborhood is on Google street view. Neal greeted us upon arrival and was very welcoming and friendly, but not intrusive. He and Carol live next door and invited us to call them if we needed anything and said they would come right over, but we never needed to call them. Location is the closest you can get without being in Yosemite Valley itself. It takes about 30 minutes to drive to the Valley Visitor Center, but is very near destinations such as Glacier Point, Tunnel View, Bridalveil Fall, and Wawona. The kitchen had cooking and baking implements, and a few ingredients, such as cooking oil, coffee, tea, sugar, and condiments, but these are apparently left from previous guests, but looked usable. We brought most of our groceries from home, and bought a few items each day at the Market in Yosemite Valley. There is no place to buy food or gas in Yosemite West. There is a gas fireplace and games and VCR/DVD in the living room, and an outdoor patio with a BBQ grill, but we didn't use any of these much because we were out all day enjoying nature. Beds were comfortable, there was ample storage, and the 3 kids fit perfectly in their own room with 1 double and 1 twin bed. Only slight inconveniences were having 1 bathroom, a dining table that only fits 4, and the many bear-themed decorations which crowded the space on bedroom dressers, counters, and beds. Also be aware that there are 4 separate levels to the house, so you will be going up and down stairs constantly. This is a Duplex, so occasionally we could hear the Cozy Bear South guests moving about or speaking, but it wasn't a problem because they were not overly loud. The neighborhood was quiet at night while we were there. We cleaned the kitchen and took out the garbage as instructed and Carol and Neal refunded our full cleaning deposit before we even got home from our trip. Overall, this is a very comfortable and conveniently located place to stay. It is very good for families with kids and if you like saving money by cooking your own food and don't mind washing dishes while on vacation.

My husband and I got married out there a couple weeks ago and my whole family stayed there and Brenda (host) and Val (cleaning/maintenance) went so above and beyond to accommodate us all, she made sure all of the rooms had everything that everyone needed, whenever we had any questions with planning the weekend beforehand we would call her and she was so incredibly helpful with EVERYTHING. My wedding weekend/week was absolutely perfect and I truly have Brenda to thank for all of the advice and help she gave us while planning the weekend before we even got out there.
