The kitchen was very well stocked, even more so than other Mammoth rentals we've stayed in. It had everything we needed, including a crockpot, which we ended up using and really appreciated. The location is fantastic -- just a short walk to Canyon Lodge. That was especially helpful with my 5-year-old and all the gear we had to carry. We've definitely found our new go-to Mammoth rental, and our family can't wait to come back and stay here again!

They have a nice 2nd story porch off the back of the house with a jacuzzi and lounge chairs to relax and take in Mammoth's charm. Our room was impeccably clean and quite large. It included a small desk, dresser, walk in closet, access to the porch, and a magnificent bathroom. The bathroom is complete with a large tub, tiled stand up shower (with car wash style jets!), and a double sink (perfect for couples!). Sharon & Dave were super helpful and gave us maps, restaurant recommendations, and advice on where to hike. Sharon also sent me to the Athletic club nearby so I could get some weight training in while my boyfriend did some work. The location is ideal and you can walk and bike into town using the paved walking trail. My only criticism would be breakfast. While both morning's breakfast meals were delicious, we had to get up at 8am to enjoy them which is sort of early when you are on a relaxing vacation. Maybe they could flex the time to 9am/9:30am? It's just that when you spend this much money, (6 nights@ $1332) you expect everything to be in working order. The first day we were there, we looked at the fireplace. It turned out to be a wood pellet stove. Of which I was told a week before we arrived to bring my own wood for a fireplace which I packed a large heavy trash can in my van which took alot of room. (First inconvenience).After reading directions on how to work it, we got the pellet stove working a loud noise emitted from it, which I assumed was the auger moving the pellets into the fire box. So loud you couldn't hear the television even when the volume was turned way up. We immediately turned it off and tried again from the beginning of the directions with the same effect. Same the next morning also. I called Vacasa and reported the experience and the representative listened to it by which they said they would get someone to fix it. After 2 days of reporting it to Vacasa, they said a repair man would contact us. He contacted us on the 4th day of our 5 day vacation and said he would come by. Upon hearing me coughing from a cold I developed on the way to Mammoth, he said he would be by to fix it after we departed. Bummer. No stove the whole vacation, an amenity of great loss. Oh, well. 3rd day in, we had accumulated a few dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I decided to run the load, and the dishwasher ran without water. I checked the water supply, under the sink to see it was turned on. Being a California general building contractor, I knew where to look. I reported it to the repair man at the same time as reporting the stove. He wouldn't come for the same reason even though I told him I was better and over the cold. He heard me coughing and said he had been very sick 2 weeks before and was scared to get sick from me. 2nd bummer, no dishwasher for vacation. The 3rd day, the coffee maker broke down. Thankfully, I had brought an expresso machine with us. We sucked it up and had fun skiing anyway. I, as a contractor, have to have a finished home in order and inspect the said property to make sure all is in working order. Apparently, no one has inspected this unit in a while, and you need to run all appliances to make sure they work. Needless to say, we were unimpressed. We left yesterday. And now I'm seeking a 50% refund or same appropriate reduction for a future stay at one of the same units in Hidden Valley in the future. A Supervisor Sarah called me a week later and said she'd call back and never called back. Ever.... Please respond ASAP. Unit's door is not illuminated so you have to tap in the code to the light of your cell phone. Bad start 2. No instructions for WiFi. Not even under the WiFi repeater. Inexcusable, I had specifically requested working WiFi. This is getting worse. 3. TV system has totally inoperative remotes. The main control has no battery door and is missing a battery. Stealing one from another remote did not cure it. Housekeeping must be incompetent. Upstairs TV remote has no batteries and it only gets Channel 3 with no way to control the cable box. Not acceptable. What's good? It is warm, water flows, electricity works. Let's see what happens tomorrow !

I planned this trip with a group of friends, and they could not stop commenting about how the chalets was the best stay they've been in at Mammoth. We stayed at chalet #9 which was not a ski out, but a very short walk to the main lodge/lifts and definitely a ski in from lower road runner. The chalet itself was cozy with plentiful seating, and even extra foldable chairs for our group. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms came equipped with hotel sized toiletries, which was a nice touch. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped with all the necessities, along with a fridge/freezer that was the perfect size to fit all of our weekend groceries. I also appreciated that they even had a huge pot to make group meals like pho, even though I had already brought my own instant pot. I would 110% stay here again and recommend the chalets to all of my family and friends. This was such a wonderful find. Thank you for the awesome stay Mammoth Mountain Chalets! :)

Fireside at the Vilage unit 111…read more The first thing about this property is that the owners were incredibly kind to let us switch the dates after we were stuck on the 395 due to a fire and had to return to Los Angeles. Normally, the reservation would go to waste. The Fireside at the Village sits at a great location in the Mammoth Village, right next to 80|50 and behind Whiskey Creek. The gondola is mere steps away as well as the restaurants and all other fun stuff the Village has to offer. If you are traveling with little kids who need round the clock entertainment, the Village is the place to be and Fireside at the Village unit 111 will get you there at a fraction of the cost. The complex has an underground garage and indoors pool, hot tub and two dry saunas. Upstairs from the pool is a large rec room with ping pong tables, laundry machines and a large fireplace. Again, it's perfect for kids and large birthday parties. Unit 111is on the ground floor but not noisy at all save for an occasional floor board creek from upstairs. It's very spacious for a one bedroom condo. It has a large living room, kitchen and a dining room and a nice deck. There is a great wood burning stove in the living room. The kitchen appliances are old but all work well and the kitchen is stocked with various items and utensils, down to pretty good quality knives which is rare at Mammoth. The décor and art take us right back to the seventies, the best days in the history of skiing. There is a phenomenal macrame owl with diabolical eyes looking at an acrylic painting of an angry skier across the room. It's quite a sight. Would I come back to this place? You bet, just for the owl alone, but it'd depend on the size of the group. My friends did not complain about the quality of the bed so I assume it's comfortable. I slept on the couch without pulling out the sofa as they tend to be uncomfortable. The couch was fine. Depending on your comfort level, the optimum size group for 111 is three people, but if you're younger and don't mind crashing on the floor you can pack this place up big time, just don't say you heard it from me.

June Lake Properties Reservations is a geat company. Excellent service and if you get into town…read morelate at night, not to worry. You go inside, get the key to your rental, and leave. Pretty simple and easy. The rates here are much more reasonable than the prices to rent a condo in Mammoth. You can visit during peak season for not that much money. We went here in March during many good snow years with friends to go snowboarding. Both of our families would rent a 2-bedroom condo and it was spectacular. Even during holidays, they have a flat rate. For a 2-bedroom condo during Christmas and New Years it was only about $150/night. The same kind of condo in the village at Mammoth during that time would probably go for about $2000/night. The condo was awesome. It includes daily housekeeping and it's less than a 2 minute drive to the June Mountain. It had a master bedroom and one bedroom with two beds. It also had a huge living area with floor-to-ceiling windows. We could see the ski resort from our condos in the morning. How awesome is that?! It snowed over a foot of fresh powder while we were there and the next morning you could sit in a chair with a cup of coffee in your hand around 6 AM watching the ski patrol perform their avalanche control work, which is what I did. The condo also had a full kitchen with a microwave, fridge, and utensils. We had a huge balcony with a BBQ which we did not use because we were snowed in. Overall, I would stay here again. We were billed quickly with a confirmation on the condo, the condo was in a good location next to…read morethe village but the second night the heater stopped working and the 24 hour maintenance hotline didn't work, we were freezing all night! Also I asked them to charge a second card for the other 50% of the room which they did not do. I asked them to fix the transaction and to see if there was any credit for our next trip for the heater not working and the manager never got back to me after four calls speaking the sales agents. Not a way to run a business when the manager is never around and never gets back to you. I will never use this company again, really too bad when my friends and I go multiple times up to Mammoth with season passes.
