Vacasa Charlie Batsch 5 reviews US Rated 1 out of 5 stars Updated just now TWTMC dont ever Use VACASA TWTMC, Over all our experience this last week at #29 Hidden Valley Condos Mammoth Lakes California was fun (outside.) It's just that when you spend this much money, (6 nights@ $1332) you expect everything to be in working order. The first day we were there, we looked at the fireplace. It turned out to be a wood pellet stove. Of which I was told a week before we arrived to bring my own wood for a fireplace which I packed a large heavy trash can in my van which took alot of room. (First inconvenience).After reading directions on how to work it, we got the pellet stove working a loud noise emitted from it, which I assumed was the auger moving the pellets into the fire box. So loud you couldn't hear the television even when the volume was turned way up. We immediately turned it off and tried again from the beginning of the directions with the same effect. Same the next morning also. I called Vacasa and reported the experience and the representative listened to it by which they said they would get someone to fix it. After 2 days of reporting it to Vacasa, they said a repair man would contact us. He contacted us on the 4th day of our 5 day vacation and said he would come by. Upon hearing me coughing from a cold I developed on the way to Mammoth, he said he would be by to fix it after we departed. Bummer. No stove the whole vacation, an amenity of great loss. Oh, well. 3rd day in, we had accumulated a few dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I decided to run the load, and the dishwasher ran without water. I checked the water supply, under the sink to see it was turned on. Being a California general building contractor, I knew where to look. I reported it to the repair man at the same time as reporting the stove. He wouldn't come for the same reason even though I told him I was better and over the cold. He heard me coughing and said he had been very sick 2 weeks before and was scared to get sick from me. 2nd bummer, no dishwasher for vacation. The 3rd day, the coffee maker broke down. Thankfully, I had brought an expresso machine with us. We sucked it up and had fun skiing anyway. I, as a contractor, have to have a finished home in order and inspect the said property to make sure all is in working order. Apparently, no one has inspected this unit in a while, and you need to run all appliances to make sure they work. Needless to say, we were unimpressed. We left yesterday. And now I'm seeking a 50% refund or same appropriate reduction for a future stay at one of the same units in Hidden Valley in the future. A Supervisor Sarah called me a week later and said she'd call back and never called back. Ever.... Please respond ASAP. Their response "their home" I doubt it......Someone else owns it and they are not to proud either if they knew. 1.2 out of 5 by New response: I contacted Vacasa and said the refund did not meet up to my expectations snd asked for 25% which worked out to another $195 for no woodburning stove , no dishwasher and a defective coffee maker. I'll update this tomorrow. I'm not happy tonight. Upon arrival: Good luck finding your unit if you arrive after dusk. Signs are tiny and not lit. 1. Unit's door is not illuminated so you have to tap in the code to the light of your cell phone. Bad start 2. No instructions for WiFi. Not even under the WiFi repeater. Inexcusable, I had specifically requested working WiFi. This is getting worse. 3. TV system has totally inoperative remotes. The main control has no battery door and is missing a battery. Stealing one from another remote did not cure it. Housekeeping must be incompetent. Upstairs TV remote has no batteries and it only gets Channel 3 with no way to control the cable box. Not acceptable. What's good? It is warm, water flows, electricity works. Let's see what happens tomorrow ! read more

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at Hidden Valley Condos and again we were very happy. Stayed in #19 this time. Studio = 1 futon and 1 trundle bed. Beds for 4. Bathroom = 1 bathroom, towels provided for 4, soap and shampoo. Hot water!! Kitchen = utencils, pots, pans, plates, fridge, stove, oven, dishwashing soap, sponges and *PAPER TOWELS. A lot of cabins do not provide paper towels so this was a plus. The only thing missing is a dishwasher, but thats not a big deal. Heaters = 2 wall heaters to keep you cozy Fireplace = firewood on the patio. Small old school tv with VHS and DVD player and a couple of movies already there waiting for you. But its a small place so you're all good. It is on the 1st floor but there are still stairs to climb and parking is right outside. There is a jacuzzi, and steam room. And about a 5 mins walk to the Village Gondola. *Another plus! We were given a late check-out at 12pm because no one had booked the condo after us. We are so used to having to check out at 10am that this was a nice surprise. Thank you! *There is supposed to be internet. I don't think it is wifi. We didn't need it or test it out. It's a clean and cute little place. Not upgraded but did the trick for a 2 night stay. read more

"Large and in charge" This place was very spacious sleeping 6 super comfortably, with all the amenities one family would need to run a daily vibrant life, all the way down to cutting boards, blenders, lighters for the fire place, lots and lots of wood, foot stools, you name it. fun stay, great location. First time traveling to mammoth and will return soon! read more

Really enjoyed our stay at the Hidden Valley Condominiums #132. The unit was comfortable for the 4 adults in our group. Such a great location, we were able to walk to restaurants a d a quick hike to nature. Plenty of quiet for a restful sleep. Fast Internet and cable if you want it although with the cute deer right outside, we enjoyed a nice vacation. We will be back! read more

Jessica & Matt are sweethearts - always so welcoming and knowledgeable about what is going on around town. The condo's are nice and always have what we needed - we have gone to the same one 3 years in row during the summer - lucky we can get it. This complex always sells out when we are there - so they must be doing something right. And it is just what we need when we are there. read more

We stayed in condo 29, a studio with a queen bed. Very clean, full kitchen, sofa sleeper, LCD tv, fireplace, and community jacuzzi. Close wall to the Village gondola and shops (which is the place to be). read more

A group of 9 friends recently visited Yosemite. Instead of staying in a few hotel rooms, we thought of renting a condo so that all of us can stay together. Thats was when we booked this place. It was at a serene location and had two bedrooms and had fully furnished kitchen. We liked it a lot. The only complain I have is that there is no office of the booking agency on location. the manager at the location is only concerned about the safety and cleanliness of the campus. If you have some issues with the room, you need to call the booking office with which you booked the hotel. Although it was a great place but this would make me think twice before staying at this place again: We were there for three days and when on second day, we called them to replace the towels, the lady rudely said we dont do that for free and if you want them changed, you have to pay USD 45 for it. This was a first for me where a hotel is asking for extra money for changing towels in rooms !!! Moreover, they didnt tell that in the original e-mail. read more

Stayed in 19, just 2 of us. The double futon was so uncomfortable, the twin size trundle was comfy but not easy for 2 to cuddle and sleep on. Lighting was dim. No dishwasher, otherwise it was ok but fair value. read more

Not happy at all! #42 charged us after we left for excessive dog slobber in a pet friendly unit?!! That condo was dirty, had no screen on one of the sliding doors, broken fan that squeaked all night, super uncomfortable sofa bed! For $250 a night and issues not a good deal. read more

Stayed for 4 nights. (1)Internet did not work, in fact if you read the guest book nearly every guest complained about it. We were unable to finish work because of this, and the website at the time guaranteed internet. After contacting owner and was told they "would speak to the manager about it and try to get a discount for us". (2) We had received 8-10in of snow overnight the night before we were leaving. Check out time is 1000, email stated that there would be a fee of 100$/hr for lake checkout. Grounds crew did not START clearing snow from sidewalks and (very steep) driveway until 0940. We had to risk falling and breaking our necks just to get the car loaded. I contacted the owner once again, letting her know about that situation around ten of 1000, she replied at 1030 stating that we could check out late. We were already out. Safely thank god. (3) Followed up with email regarding internet to see if a discount would be granted and she then informed me that "because there was dog hairs found on the linens and dog food on the ground, which is a 75$ excessive cleaning fee, we will call it even". First of all-our dog was on the bed once, and we are not slobs, so there may have been a few pieces of food around where his bowl was, but I can guarantee there was not an excessive amount of hair or food to clean up. Furthermore isn't sweeping and laundry routine cleaning? (which I am paying for anyways??) Avoid this place is my advise. Website has since changed to "unreliable internet" read more

Stayed at Hidden Valley # 1, 1 bedroom unit. The unit had everything we wanted, the kitchen was very functional with newer appliances. The bed in the bedroom was a king size bed, and very comfortable. The bed is deceptive, it has a tempurpedic type mattress, so when the room is cold, it feels very hard. The owner has instructions on how to make it work for comfort, followed his instructions, and viola, great sleeping. ( It has a heated mattress pad, you just turn it on ahead of time, and when you turn in for the night, it is very comfortable. The big plus for our stay at this unit was the ski locker provided for our use at Canyon Lodge. read more

Really enjoyed our stay at hidden valley condo G153, it was a great location, close to the village within walking distance. Right across the way from the washing machines, jacuzzi and sauna and managers office. Tv was alittle hard to turn on(confusing), hot water doesn't last too long so shower fast.! Parking right in front of stairs which was great. WiFi was good.! The papers we were sent with the unit number was different then the original number we booked. Parking pass was waiting for us when we got there, but only had one but thankfully the manager was there and made us a second one.! Really helpful. Really liked that they emailed all I formation prior to your vacation. Upon rental stated it is pet friendly, upon arrival they have a note saying no pets allowed. Definitely enjoyed our stay here for FISHMAS, price we paid for this condo was higher then we have paid previously at other places in mammoth for the same thing. read more

Stayed in Unit #1, a ! bedroom, 1 bath condo that sleeps 4 with a queen size sleeper sofa. Unit is near the upper portion of the complex which means it is as close as you can get to the Village compared to the other buildings in the complex. Unit was clean, comfortable, and get this, provided a ski LOCKER in Canyon Lodge for our use while staying there. Kitchen was complete, didn't need to bring anything. I would definitely stay there again. read more
