Recovering from surgery isn't exactly something you look forward to, but staying here made the whole experience so much easier than I expected. Before I even went into surgery I was receiving text messages letting me know they would be taking care of me post surgery. The staff (Gracie and Jose) were incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely attentive. They took the time to make sure I felt comfortable and supported, and they did it in a way that felt very real and down-to-earth. I never felt like "just another patient"--they treated me like a person, which made a huge difference during recovery. There was such a good balance of professionalism and warmth. They created an environment where I could relax, feel taken care of, and even forget for a moment that I was in recovery mode. That kind of care is hard to find. My experience with Prive was nothing short of amazing. Starting from the drive from my surgery, Grace drove so carefully and avoided as many bumps as possible. I was so grateful for that because I was so nauseous from anesthesia. Once we arrived at Prive I was gently put into a wheelchair and escorted into the most beautiful, peaceful home. The bed and bedding is so comfortable. Jose was there for every single thing I needed. He taught me techniques to properly lift from the bed and walked me to the restroom. All I had to do was quietly say his name and he was by my side there to help. Team Gracie and Jose were simply amazing for my aftercare. I had a nice room with plenty of light and air, and the bed was hospital grade. Snacks, protein shakes (chocolate peanut butter shakes by Jose were fab), water, ice, and rx were all handled for me round the clock as prescribed or recommended by my doctor. The team was on call around the clock as well. All I had to do was call their number on my cell and hang up, and they come to my room within 30 seconds! I was taken for daily outdoor walks, varying 7 minutes to 45 minutes long depending on my energy level. It was always nice to get out. Gracie was always kindly tending to my hair or my clothes, especially when I was out of it. If I had any questions, requests, or concerns, one of them would come to me immediately, which I really appreciated. One time, I was inexplicably hungry late in the evening and Jose prepared delicious eggs and an English muffin for me. After surgery. I had a mommy makeover surgery and booked two nights and I was so thankful I did. Jose and Grace took care of me and made sure I did all the right things. I had some complications with the medications I was prescribed and Jose was able to trouble shoot and get me on the right regimen. I don't know how I could have gotten thru my surgeries without Gracie & Jose. I had several procedures done at once. As a busy mom with dogs, I knew I needed to be away from my house in order to actually rest. From the minute I opened my eyes from surgery, until I walked out of their care, I was treated with kindness, caring, and professionalism. The two work around the clock. They brought me my medications every few hours (spooning jello into my mouth so my stomach wouldn't get upset), helped guide me to the bathroom when my eyes hurt so badly from the surgery shields that I couldn't see, and brought me food displayed beautifully, on the same tableware my mom has used my whole life! That was just a coincidence, but it was crazy because I felt like a kid again, when my mom took care of my every need when I was sick. At one point, Gracie helped me take my first shower. Jose and Gracie at Prive absolutely exceeded my expectations for post surgical care. I was referred by a friend of mine who stayed with them a year ago. It was truly the best decision I made, especially with 2 little ones at home. I booked 3 nights, and ended up staying 4 when my pain during day 2 was a lot worst than I had expected. I stayed in the Paris room, which had an en suite bathroom. It was beautiful, comfortable, so serene and quiet. Room and bathroom are very clean, and had a reclining bed and TV with streaming services (Netflix, Hulu). Jose and Gracie provided care 24 hours a day, keeping me fed with nutritious and delicious food, refilling my water 500x (well, it felt that way), emptying my drains and keeping a log for my doctor, all of my medications and even vitamins brought from home were given to me exactly as instructed with either jello, apple sauce, or yogurt to coat my stomach beforehand. Jose drove me to my post op appointment and even made sure to take notes and give me reminders on what my doctor wanted me to do. I am so grateful to have been in their care, and take this pressure off of my husband. I was able to relax and recover away from my kids, which made all the difference. I believe they have absolutely set the standard in post surgical care and I will gladly be sharing their information with friends and family in the future. I understand that I was confirmed, but it is false that you replied to my last call/message the day before my surgery. You left me on read and did not send me a text back. I did not receive a call or voicemail either. The surgery center REQUIRED me to have the full name of the person who was picking me up and their contact information. That was an important detail I needed for everything to be set. I was hoping you'd respond to me within the day. I waited a couple hours, but there came a point where I could no longer do it, as I was running out of time to find someone to take care of me post-operation (it was literally the next day). Regardless, I was lucky enough to find service elsewhere; they were very kind and professional to get me a last minute person to pick me up on the day of. Also, just another note: Just because my appointment was confirmed did not mean much. I had only sent you my name, the date of the operation, the name of my doctor, and approximate time my operation would be done. We did not confirm the location of the pick up and any other details. I don't understand why you're shocked when you're the one who ignored my messages. Plus, it's hard to receive service from you guys if I can't even be picked up by one of your employees. I left this review because I was ghosted on the day right before my surgery. I think anyone can understand how stressful that would be if their caregiver/service provider bailed last minute before a big operation. Edit: You also said three emails, but I have never once received a single email. The kind lady who helped me with her service sent me an email within 10-15 minutes after our conversation. I can't express enough how amazing this recovery retreat is. There are a few out there but it's really hard to find the right people to care for you. This location is discreet, quiet and peaceful. You will feel like you are in the best hands. There is not one thing you need to think of or do for yourself while staying here. Prive Retreat is a wow experience ! This was the best decision I made post surgery. I flew in out of state to have my surgery and knew I needed some help post surgery, to be honest I wish I booked another days stay. Gracie and Jose are hands down the best! I felt so taken care of, I never had to remember when to take my meds, I never had to think of what I needed because they were 100% on it. Was here for overnight care, and is well worth it. It's so calming and better than being at home or at a hospital after surgery. Pam is the owner and she so pleasant. Grace was my nurse and took care of me. Grace went above and beyond when it came to my needs. Pam was checking up to and brought me some magazines. There's a TV in the room and you watch Hulu or Netflix. Grace was and is so attentive and notify my husband and daughter about all the after care I was going to need. Through my stay Grace personally would feed me and made me some natural smoothies. She was checking on me every hour and gave me my meds at the precise time . She had a log and documented everything for the doctor to know. Grace is an angel and I'm so glad she watched over me. Grace all picked me after surgery and took me to my follow up. I was very sick, and I knew coming out of surgery, I would have drains attached to me with over 200 stitches internally and externally. I knew I wouldn't be able to take care of myself, but I'm one of those very controlling people that doesn't like to surrender, and let someone else do the job. That being said ,my controlling self was skeptical upon entering any sort of retreat, but Pamela and her staff were so accommodating. I experienced an allergic reaction to pain medication given immediately after surgery, so when I was released, I was a little mentally off my rocker, but Pamela personally picked me up at patient pick up, and saw to it that I felt safe and comfortable. Pamela is a registered nurse, and has had so much experience, but that's not even the best part about it, it's her personality! I felt like I was with my sister, and with my mother, and with my best friend all at once Pamela explained to me that my surgery was going to be very painful, and that it was important to manage the pain before it started again, so I listened to her and I was never physically or mentally uncomfortable once during my six day stay. Immediately after surgery I was given very serious dietary restrictions such as no gluten, no dairy, nothing genetically modified, and I ate phenomenally during my stay. From protein smoothies, to soup and crackers, to salmon and vegetables. I personally don't ingest any red meat, so you can imagine how tough planning my meals may have been, but never once did I feel hungry or left without. I had my own private room with a hospital bed, but more comfortable. The mattress was extremely comfortable, but I had a controller so I could elevate my legs, and even my back just like the hospital beds. This was imperative for my surgery, as I could not lay flat for several weeks. I was able to catch up on all my Netflix shows and had a beautiful view of trees and nature. I had my own bathroom which was kept very beautiful and decorated by Pamela ( I asked ) Aside from feeding me, giving me my medication, and making sure that my well-being was in fact well, the nurses ( All registered nurses ) offered to bathe me if need be, brush my hair, and even wash my hair. I have very very curly hair, and during my stay Pamela was planning a move, and I needed to get up and walking, so she asked me if I wanted to go to have my hair professionally done at the salon. She said she had a coupon that a friend had given her for one free blowout. My surgery saved my life, and I was excited to be able to go somewhere considering this was day 5. Pamela literally gave me her coupon, and I had the prettiest hair when I went home on day six. Bless her heart, as she felt so bad that her nurses wouldn't necessarily be able to blow out my curly hair.. as if that's part of the care program. That's how amazing Pamela is! She cares so much and goes above and beyond, and when I say Pamela, this includes her and her staff I can't say enough about this place, and when I have my next surgery in May, I will definitely be returning. This place was recommended to me by my doctor, and the receptionist personally knew Pamela, so I knew going in that I was going to get the best treatment, but Pamela and her staff went above and beyond. Six days is a very long time to be away from home, but literally instead of feeling like I was recovering from surgery, I felt like I was on a vacation. I almost want to go book a stay even though I'm not sick Day 6 I had my post op, and Pamela personally drove me to my appointment, carried my items inside, and made sure that I was safe and comfortable before she left. I don't even know where to start. My stay at Privé was the best thing I could have done after my surgery. I live in LA but I had surgery down in OC. I knew friends who had the same surgery as me and I was told the first 24 hours post-op are the most crucial. I wanted to take the pressure off my loved ones for this care, and wasn't sure how they would deal with it. I knew I wanted to stay at a recovery house with people who know what they're doing, and after doing some research I decided to go with Privé. I spoke with Pamyla, who then connected me with Gracie so I could sort out the details of my stay. Since my surgery wasn't intense I knew I would only need one day. Two days before my surgery I spoke with Gracie again who confirmed everything about my stay. The morning of my surgery I provided the surgery center with Gracie's number. When I woke up I was in a lot of pain and she was there to pick me up. Gracie was SOOOOOOO sweet, wonderful, and calming through the entire ride (and my entire stay) to the recovery center. Once we got to the recovery house Gracie showed me my room - which is super nice! She immediately gave me my pain pills and I was soon able to fall asleep after that. Although I slept most of the time, Gracie made sure that I was taking my prescribed meds every few hours. Gracie was super caring and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I remember being cold at a certain point and she was able to give me an extra blanket and brought in a personal heater into my room. I had 24 hour care with staff that was fully experienced with my procedures and were able to help take care of all my needs and post op appointments. It put my mind completely at ease and I was able to focus on recovery with complete confidence. I am so grateful for the time I stayed there and it made my recovery coming home that much easier!
