The piercer that I spoke to was also just as condescending, as if I was just SUCH a burden to even be in their presence. I went to Prix Piercing last week with to get my nose pierced (nostril - stud). I had this piercing before but took it out after two days because the stud was so big and I didn't like it. Since then, however, I had a think about it and decided to give it another shot with a smaller stud and to get it done with a needle this time (my first experience was with a gun). After reading the reviews on Yelp, I chose Prix in Pasadena since it has such a reputation for cleanliness. I would say, for anyone considering it to ignore the bad reviews about anyone who works there - choosing Prix was a wonderful decision! Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the girl behind the counter (I'm sorry!) but she was very, very pleasant. She helped me choose my stud from the large range that was available and even let me hold some up to my nose to see what I'd like. I got to have a much smaller one than the first one I had which was brilliant - exactly what I wanted and she answered all of the questions I had about the procedure and was friendly and chatty! Then I had to go into another room for the piercing. Everything was very, very, very clean and really gave me confidence that I'd chosen the right place. My piercer, Shelby, was fantastic! I'd go back to her in a second if I decided to get another one. She talked to me about what she was going to do to put me at ease when I was worried about it, and she was a great laugh and a pleasure to chat with! I went with a friend too, who got 2 lobe piercings, and watching that, I could tell what care Shelby took in her work. : ) I am absolutely thrilled that I gave this piercing another shot and couldn't be happier that I chose Prix. It was $45 for the piercing + jewelery and I got a student discount as a college student, so hurray! : ) It looks fantastic and I'm entirely satisfied that if I needed any help during the healing period, I'd get it with a smile at Prix. I recently got my septum pierced here but I have it healing flipped up the other day I flipped it down and it is so crooked to the point where I am embarrassed to wear it down I spent $60 on this piercing and I'm super disappointed. Great service and great experience! I went to get my lobes re-pierced because they had closed up, but because I had already had them pierced before Ed only charged me for the earrings themselves! I only had to wait about 10 minutes, and I was done in about 5 minutes. So happy! read more

I wandered in on a whim while window shopping in Old Pas and walked out an hour later with my first piercings (lobes). From a newbie's point of view this place is awesome; it's clean and almost feels like a clinic inside, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was pretty nervous but Ed was nice about making sure I was okay with the placement and explaining how to keep the piercing clean. The only thing was that he forgot to shut the door to the lobby, and so a bunch of shocked bystanders watched as I grimaced in pain. Their expressions were so amusing that it completely took my mind off the needles...was that intentional? Perhaps! I came here after a disastrously unhelpful experience at Young Guns. My seamless nose ring had gotten caught on one side of the 5-year-old piercing and was impossible to turn. It had been a few months, but this past week it had started to ache a bit so I decided to get it looked at. I won't go into details [those are all in my review on Young Guns' page] but when I walked into Prix, I was immediately relieved. Clean, friendly, professional. I explained my problem to Allie, the girl behind the counter, and she promptly got someone to come help me. She told me he would most likely take out the ring to see whether the hole had indeed closed, and that's exactly what he did. EdD was hilarious and obviously knew his stuff. I happen to have two rings on one nostril, so just to be thorough he took out both of them so that he could put them back in more tightly [so they wouldn't get caught again]. Indeed, my first hole was open on one side and had closed on the inside, but because it was only half closed, he repierced it without charging me. Both EdD and Allie were super, friendly, and knowledgeable. I left feeling completely relieved, and sad that I didn't have any cash to tip them with. But I will definitely be back here again for my next piercing extravaganza and I will definitely tip! read more

I have gotten my first non earlobe piercing here and had a great experience, the counter lady was nice and told me anything i needed to know before the piercing process starts. Sara did my my piercing for me and she was really nice as well. She is very knowledgeable and have told me everything i needed to know about my new piercing. I would never bring my business to this place. I have been in here time and time again, with friends who have gotten piercings, as well as just to ask about services for myself, and I decided last time, that I am never giving them my service. Never in any piercing shop have I experienced such rude customer service. They act like any and every question you ask is an inconvenience, or irrelevant. Even and especially Ed, the piercer. He won't look us in the eye, laughs at the questions we ask like we're imbeciles. It's insane how arrogant and rude he can be to people. Let alone people paying for his service. It's like the employees here are too cool to answer your questions. It feels really juvenile. My friend and I got there just as it was closing last time, and the girl just gave us an up and down, hardly even spoke with us, and just walked around us and went on her way. Regardless of how good their quality of piercing is, I would much rather make the drive to find someone who does just as quality of a job (if not better), and can also look me in the eyes when they speak with me, and maybe actually speak personably and with a smile as well. Just for their customer service, please do not come here. I would suggest to go find another, more personable and quality piercer. read more

I recently got my belly pierced here and I am to say that I am not at all satisfied by my experience. Although EdD was nice and seemed knowledgable and all, he ended up piercing my belly-button NOTICEABLY off center!!! So being dissatisfied, I took it out and went back a week later so that I could get it repierced. When I went back the second time, it seemed like EdD knew that we wasn't going to get "paid" (again) or "tipped' by me (again) so he definitely rushed through the whole piercing process and pierced me in a way where the top of the barbell faces outward wayyy too much and catches onto all my clothes. So ya I definitely regret my experience here. Maybe they are good at tattoos and certain piercings, but trust me, belly button piercing is not their expertise. read more

Had a great experience last night at Prix. The staff was great with me and my piercer was the best. I've been to other shops that talk up their piercer and how you never feel pain with them and I was never fond of piercings because they do hurt (obviously) but Eddie pierced my nostril and I literally felt nothing. He is so professional, super clean and made my nerves calm...total composure and really funny which kept my mind off of getting pierced. A tiny prick and it was over before I even knew he had started. Won't go anywhere for a piercing but here to see Eddie from now on and I recommend you come here for an awesome piercing and great service. The girl working the front was really nice and super chill. I don't know why the reviews are so up and down here because every time I've recommended this place to a friend they've always been so great...maybe it's the clients expectations before coming in but my experiences time and time again haven't been anything short of awesome. I talked to Eddie who was extremely rude and condescending. He talked to me like I had no idea what I was talking about right off the bat. He comes off as an ego-maniac. Parking in this area is terrible. The whole experience left me with a horrible impression. Even if he is good at piercing (which I have no idea if he is or isn't,) he has a reputation for being an A-hole, and in my experience, I found it to be true. i've been to several "professional" piercing shops around the country for various piercings and jewelry and have to say that prix is probably one of the most unapproachable of them all. when you walk in, don't even think about touching any of your piercings, as you will get a curt, elitist lecture on sterile practices and promptly told to use the hand sanitizer...ok. first off, they never seem to have larger jewelry in stock that is worth buying, not even your basic stainless steel spacers. really? a piercing shop that doesn't stock stainless steel spacers? they carry some of the more natural materials, such as wood, but the majority of the selection looks like something out of Hot Topic's catalog. they say they don't carry bigger jewelry because the demand is for smaller piercings...um, ok, so if the demand was for smaller tattoos, would you stock less ink? that doesn't make any sense. secondly, it seems apparent to me that some of the staff are incapable of reading the calipers they measure the jewelry with, because the two times i've left there with jewelry, it was always a bit too big. i don't feel like stretching up all the time. except for most natural materials, this is why there are distinct jewelry sizes, so people can either move up to a specific size goal or stay at their preferred size. if you are looking to get pierced for the first time or have smaller jewelry, then i guess prix is as good as anywhere else. otherwise, in my opinion, there's better places to spend your money. read more

I would say the worst part of this was getting parking and trying to walk through hoards of tourists in old towne. I had a piercing done and I was made to feel VERY comfortable. i saw this place from across the street during a girls day in Pasadena with a few friends...i originally went in to just get my feel to see if i wanted to get some sort of ear/cartlidge piercing...as i was talking to the girl up front, i explained about how i'd gotten my nose pierced three times and each time it got infected (or irritated as they called it) which always resulted in me taking out the stud and the whole closing...im a girl of Asian Indian decent and nose piercings are very common in our culture...i was always so frustrated that i couldnt manage to keep one that lasted...as they explained to me how the piercings are to be done for the nose, i realized that none of the places i went before did it that way...i figured i'd try it one last time and if it didnt stick, i'd just give up...my piercer was EdD...and i have to say...my experience was flawless...he explained everything very clearly and really but me at ease...we was really jovial and made me feel comfortable...it didnt hurt except a small prick...the post care instructions were simple and different than what i was used to...the morning after i noticed a difference this time around...i'm happy to say im a few weeks in and the site is healing nicely...all the past times at this point my piercing would be bloody, disgusting and hurting...im beyond satisfied and looking forward to my next experience with them... read more

I got my cartilage pierced here in February. After hearing horror stories from my friends about the pain and the recovery process, I was a bit nervous going in. Here I am 7 months later and I'm happy to report I've had absolutely no pain. The piercing was done with a needle and I hardly felt it. They give great care instructions as well. This place is awesome! I went yesterday to get my nose pierced and its so nice and clean. The people are nice, my piercer was very thorough and explained everything so i knew what he was doing.
