We chose Arclight to stain our house in spring of 2025. Of the 4 painting firms from which we…read morereceived bids, theirs was not the cheapest, but was only slightly higher than the cheapest. The amount of thought and detail they put into the bid was impressive. All business transactions were done online and were easy to use. We encountered several challenges. The siding could not take the brand of penetrating stain we had selected because percentage of solids in the previous stain was too dense. They found a stain and seal product from a different company that would work. It took more than two days working with Rodda-Miller paints to create a color match to the old stain. While this was going on Arclight did a soft wash of the house and then masked the trim or staining of the siding. The soft wash did an excellent job of removing dirt and mold, while being much safer than a traditional pressure wash. They applied two coats and still finished with only a four hour overrun on the estimated time to complete. Each day, they worked with us to share access to the fenced yard with our dogs. Throughout the process, Arclight was very easy to work with. Communications were excellent. They sent an e-mail each evening describing work done that day and the plan for the next day. The quality of the finished staining job could not be better. We highly recommend Arclight's services to anyone planning to paint or stain their house.

Due to dry rot, this also required carpentry work. In just about a week, they replaced about 40-50 rotten boards, painted the deck wood and walls, did other cosmetic repairs, and ensured everything was moved back to where it was when they were done. Their communication was on point and they always showed up when they said they would. Matt goes beyond as well. He makes sure you're aware of all options on how what kind of finishes are possible and why any might be considered. He addressed structural issues caused by the original builders. He also approaches the project in a manner that ensures the rest of the house won't get damaged during the work (in this case, hoisting all the new and old wood off the roof via rope). I found this really helpful and recommend it to anyone. Pam was very knowledgeable and taught me a lot about how paint looks completely different depending on the light. Again, highly recommended for anyone. Dave and Ross painted, and I don't think they could have done a better job. They are artisans with a LOT of expertise who made my condo look brand new. They are everything you want in a painter. They showed up on time EVERY day, cleaned up after themselves, and were polite and professional. They respected the work hours set by my HOA. Ross even fixed my running toilet (at no charge), which I really appreciated. Before the painting, I had some old baseboard heaters replaced with wall heaters. As a result there were some areas with holes, old paint color, etc. Dave and Ross cleaned all that up. The wall heaters look great, and you can't tell there used to be baseboard heaters. They also fixed a ton of issues I had with my trim. The flooring company who installed it didn't do a great job of joining separate pieces. Painting America took the time to fix all the joins and make it look like a single solid piece. I took bids from 3 other companies besides Painting America, before I went with them. They were one of the higher bids, but they are well worth the money. I am so pleased with the results, and when I need painting in the future I won't look elsewhere. I have tried to get on their schedule for 2 years now…read more The first year I got a one liner - ' Our schedule is full' The second time around I reached out to them early in March: - First they wanted to know if I am ready to wait till August -Then they wanted photos - ' picture of each side of the house including elevation change' - And they wanted livable square footage and colors. All of the above before they even scheduled me for an estimate. I have since had other contractors with equally fabulous reviews on yelp come over, give me estimates and get me on the schedule for this year.
