Since I wasn't around to meet Ernie and my husband was, I'm rating this company four stars for how our carpets looks. Ernie did a great job on cleaning our carpets, especially the heavy traffic areas (family room and stairs). He even cleaned the front part of each stair step! What I'm about to mention next is a positive. After a few weeks, a few stains turned up in the family room where drinks and food have spilled. The previous carpet cleaning company we tried last year apparently didn't remove those stains, but instead pushed it further into the carpeting. All this time, we thought those stains were gone. This review is primarily the lack of customer service I received - TWICE. First incident - I spoke to Ernie in having him come out to my house to provide a quote for tile/sealing and carpet cleaning. We arranged a time and date and I told him that I was driving from Walnut Creek (where I work) to ensure I would make it back in time for our appt. Well I made it in time for the appointment, Ernie did not. He didn't have the courtesy to call or text to let me know he was not going to bother showing up. I called him and he told me he was too busy on another job. I should of learned my lesson there... A year later, I decided to give him another try as I really wanted to get 500+sq feet of tile/granite cleaned. I called and left a message for him..It took him almost 2 weeks to get back to me. In his defense, he did have a family emergency. I get it, we all have a life to attend too. I told him that I really need to get some work done and would like him to come out and give us a quote, I was willing to just book an appt... He told me that he will come out the next day. I called him that morning to remind him, and sure enough..I got stood up again. No calls, text or any communication. So I happened to call Pro Tech and Ernie came and cleaned the carpets where the mess was and in the whole house for a very reasonable price. My short-lived experience with Pro Tech Carpet Cleaning was very disappointing. I found Pro Tech Carpet Cleaning on Yelp, and had high hopes based on the glowing reviews and 5-star ratings. I called Ernie for an estimate for having all our carpeting in the house cleaned. I gave him the square footage of our house, described which rooms were carpeted (vs. linoleum/tile areas), and described to him two stains (and what kind of stains they were) that might need a little extra attention. We have light carpeting, so there is the usual traffic-area dirt, and some spotting, as you would expect in a home with four active adults. As longtime homeowners we have had our carpets cleaned many times in other residences, and know what will come up with normal steam carpet cleaning. Ernie gave me a bid range of $275-325 over the phone, and we scheduled the cleaning for later in the week (today) as we have houseguests coming in the near future. Ernie arrived at our house this morning, and I walked him through the house, showing him the areas to be cleaned. When we finished the walk-through, he said that the cost was going to be $520. When I reminded him of the bid he had given me of $275-325, and that this new price was almost TWICE the original bid, he said that we had "more carpet" than he expected , and the stains were going to take some extra work. It had a real "bait and switch" feel. I felt very deceived and told him that we would need to look elsewhere, and he left. Very Disppointed!!! read more

The date of service was 1/30/13. I was looking for a reasonable and honest carpet cleaning company to have my carpets cleaned prior to Super Bowl Sunday. I found Pro Tech in a YELP search and immediately read all of the reviews. This is the "only" reason that I went with Pro Tech. Upon my initial call I left a message and waited no more than an hour to get a call back from Ernie at Pro Tech. During our conversation, Ernie asked very specific questions regarding the number of rooms, square feet of carpet space and condition of carpets. He used this information to provide me with a reasonable quote over the phone. I then asked if he had time that same day and confirmed for me that he would arrive at 1:00pm that day. Ernie arrived exactly at the time we had agreed upon. We did a joint walk through the house and I clearly communicated what I wanted done. He took approx. 30 minutes to set up, which he does not charge, and took the time to lay down towels on the tile and around corners to protect against damage. All of the heavy soiled spots were pre-treated and the entire house was done in approx. two hours. Ernie is an extremely hard working individual and it made me tired just watching him work. Upon payment, he honored his original quote, which was very reasonable. The carpets, which are very light, turned out GREAT!!! My family came over that weekend and were impressed with how nice the carpets looked. Overall, my assessment on the quality of service, timeliness and results is a solid Five Stars. Very satisfied with the entire experience. Lastly, I've been in customer service for 20 plus years and I must say that Ernie is a true professional. From our initial call through the time he spent at my house providing the service, he was always polite, professional and courteous. I highly recommend Ernie's service.
