Yesterday, May 10th, we found ourselves in need of a drop down trailer hitch to match a high receiver with our Aahmes Shriners parade trailer's low height hitch. We went in search for one, and were on our way to the local U-Haul when we passed by Pro Trucks Plus. Taking a chance, we stopped in and were helped by Susan (and her boss on the phone). She made several trips to their inventory and chatted with her manager. She even came out to help measure the one we had to help make sure we were taken care of. After we were done, we came away with a hitch we could afford and the Aahmes Shriners went on that day to promote the Shriners Hospitals. Remember, Shriners parade so kids can heal! I'm so bummed to write this, but after 2 voice messages and 2 different online inquiries through the website.. I got NO response. I would have been happy with a response that "we can't help you"... but as I stressed and worried and hoped they could help, I got nothing. Thankfully I have an electrician friend that could refer me to a mechanic friend that has done work on RV's and my situation was resolved very easily with a lift kit for my tiny trailer.. fixed all the issues with the weight distribution system I needed help with and much more. All I wanted was someone to take a quick look and tell me if they could help or send me on my way. This place didn't even respond. As I drive by, the sign is so faded you can no longer read it and it looks like it's only RV storage. If you're looking for actual service, then keep looking. read more

This review is regarding their RV storage services. I was at Protrucks for two years, two one-year contracts. Each year, exactly 31 days before the end of the contracts they jacked up the rates on me by 15%. They do this 31 days before the end because they have to give you 30 days notice of increase and you have to give them 30 days notice of termination or you lose your deposit. So they don't want you to have enough time to find another place when they increase the rate. They are the most expensive place around by far, over twice as expensive as the place I ended up moving to - and their hours are the worst. They don't give you a gate code to access the yard so you can only access it during their office hours, and they are closed on major holidays, like Thanksgiving for example. I gave them two stars since their yard is nice, paved, and they have a dump station - but definitely not worth it. read more

We purchased our 2019 Lance 2375 travel trailer brand new through Pro Trucks at the Pleasanton Fairgrounds show 3 years ago. From my understanding, all new trailers have a break-in period where little, and sometimes big, issues come up. Eli has been extremely helpful throughout this process: setting and fulfilling appointments for repairs/servicing our trailer. From loose screws on stove burners, damages to the slide, and broken toilet flush valve, to name a few, all were covered by the extended warranty that Eli convinced us would be worth it. I'm happy that we listened to him. Even during the pandemic when our toilet broke on our Sequoia trip, Eli has been consistent in keeping us informed of the availability of repair parts. It did take some patience and understanding when toilet manufacturing was literally backed up, causing us to wait an extended period for a replacement - no fault of Pro Trucks. Specifically, Pro Trucks has come through with making sure that we have gotten the correct replacement parts. We still love our trailer and plan to continue working with this business in spite of the repairs that have been required. Additionally, Eli has always been responsive to aiding us via text/calls during the learning curve of operational issues while on the road and needing answers. read more

I took my Lance 992 in for an AC repair. After a couple of days, Rubin figured out the problem and replaced the part. When all was said and done, I needed to replace the AC unit and they did the install perfectly. They made it hassle free and worked with my complex situation. In the end, I decided to sell the 992. Eli took the camper in and put it on the market. They cleaned it all up and got it ready for sale. I decided to trade it in for another RV. Once again, Eli and Matt worked with me and made it easy for pickup and transfer to the RV dealer as a trade in. Matt, the owner, is a good guy willing to take the time to help out a customer. Rubin, the Service Manager, helped me out to make it right. Eli, the sales rep, knows his product and will show you some of the nicest Lance campers available in East Bay. Eli at Pro Trucks was absolutely fabulous. We already owned an R-Pod R-178, but had recently seen pictures of the Lance 1575 and wanted to check one out. We visited Pro Trucks and noticed an R-Pod for sale when we pulled in; which was a good sign for us because that meant they'd help us sell our R-Pod. Took a look at the Lance and fell in love with the extra interior room, extra storage, dry bath, etc. When we presented Eli with the idea of getting rid of the R-Pod (which was still financed), Eli laid out the various options: trade-in, Craigslist, or consignment. He was even kind enough to offer to try to sell it on Craigslist beforehand. We ended up going the consignment route. When we went to pick up the Lance he gave us a very thorough walkthrough even though we were not novice campers. All in all it was an outstanding purchasing experience. read more

Still nothing but a good purchase. Took this beast to Utah on a much needed family vacation. Pulling a full bed load from Moraga Ca to Utah I averaged 17.1 mpg. Did well in the snow and rain. Also took it to Las Vegas from my new home in San Diego, moved a full bed load of furniture and averaged 18.2 mpg. Did some 4x4 over Rocky gap rd in Red Rock State Park. When I asked the ranger at the kiosk if the trail was open she came out and looked at my truck and said "not to you". I didn't listen and went anyhow. It was a blast. This big F350 4x4 really climbs! So glad I didn't buy the Green F250. read more

Im not sure about the other reviews, but my experience with Matt was great. I found Matt to be very knowledgeable and honest. He and Justen took great care of our family and helped us with our purchase. Matt was more than willing to look at our needs first and not give the "pushy" sales job. Pro Trucks Plus is not the place to go if you want to walk around and look at the cars, you need to just ell Matt what you are looking for and he will do His best for you. We bought a 2001 Tahoe and it was as described and we just finished our first road trip, no problems. If you are looking for purely the lowest price, then there are lots of corner lots that can help you, but I like personalized customer service, knowing the history of what I am buying, and knowing that I am being treated fairly. This is for their storage services. Called many storage areas for my 34' toy hauler, Matt at ProTrucks was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. Being a both new to the toy hauler experience and having a new toy hauler, I found their knowledge of RVs very helpful. The staff is always friendly and willing to help out. Eli even helped me park the beast the first couple times out/in of the facility. Great people at this business. Having black water dump(free), and propane fill onsite (fee for propane) is VERY helpful in making both beginning and ending trips easy. Storing your RV at a place that retails RVs, and has many new ones adjacent to yours is a plus because you KNOW there is serious security/insurance for the site. I called about several trucks. First thing he asked was my location when I said I was local Matt immediately started brushing me off, I told him I would look at it Saturday. Then I was told they were only available to view by appointment. They said they would get back to me about an appointment. No return call. Called again. Was told no weekend appointments or evening. I'm a cash buyer. My instincts tell me that they are only interested in making deals long distance or over the phone, they don't want you to see the vehicles. They advertise on Craigslist all over the western US. Something is not right about this business. "If it smells bad, it's probably rotten". I'll move on with my money. read more

I am in the market for a 2003-2004 Ram 2500hd. After a search on Cargurus.com I found out that Pro Trucks has exactly what I'm looking for so I went to take a look at it. I had the exact same experience as many of the other reviewer here have had, "appointment only, it's not here, it's in a warehouse, blah, blah, blah." When I go look at a truck I don't want to give the dealer "prep" time, I want to start it up from cold, see what lights up on the dash, I want to see where it's been parked over night to check for puddles. I'm not wealthy so 25k for a truck is a lot of money to me and don't think buying it should be a hassle. I've given them one star simply because they failed to do what a dealer exists to do, let me see and potentially buy a car. read more

I had such a positive experience that when I discovered that Matt had become a Lance Camper dealer, I ordered a 2018 Lance travel trailer from them. From the ordering process through delivery, they have provided outstanding service and support. I have needed a fair amount of "hand holding" here and there, and Eli and Reuben have just been fantastic to work with. We had high hopes when we saw a great truck online at Pro Trucks Plus in Livermore. Unfortunately we had nothing but problems with both the trade in of our vehicle and purchase of a used truck from them. It took Pro Trucks months to pay off the loan on our trade in leaving us with 2 auto loans on our credit. On top of that, two months after buying the truck from them, the transmission went out and needed to be rebuilt. We found out that there were outstanding recalls on the truck we purchased and there we problems with the stearing as well. Use extreem caution when dealing with this dealer. I would not want to see someone go through all the problems that we have. I do NOT recommend this company and the Better Business Bureau rates them a C-. Wish we would have known that when we first thought of working with Pro Trucks. read more

We stopped by the 889 E airway Blvd location looking for camp overs and were thoroughly impressed by the selection, expertise, and shop manager Eli. He really knows his product, inside and out, and is totally tuned in to the market and customer need. He wasn't one of those god awful pushy cliche salesman type. The selection and availability of campers is also worthy of mention. We've been to two "dealers" but in reality, their selection is maybe 3-4 (total) campers, packed into a corner, on a lot full of rv's and 5th wheels. If you try to ask a question , you have a salesman on Google (thanks, I could have done that). Ask another question, and it's the same thing. Eventually you stop asking questions while they ramble about the weather or snow in Tahoe. The staff there was knowledgeable, polite and patient. The pricing was excellent and transparent. Pro Trucks Plus is an authorized Lance camper dealer as Lance camper controls more than 50% of the market. The ordering and delivery acceptance process was flawless. Everything on the camper was inspected and tested. The sales person that assisted us was Elisha Cork. Ruben Alva was in charge of accepting and testing the camper. Both Eli and Reuben resolved a minor Lance warranty issue with the camper in a single day. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere. I wish I wasn't wasting more time with this business but my experience was absolutely terrible. I'd give them no stars but Yelp won't allow that. I'm looking for a 1996-2002 Ford F250 Crew Cab with a long bed and they had a couple on their website, one for $18,995. I first telephoned them before last Saturday, 06/06/15, or so and left a message. I never received a return call until after the weekend. I live in South San Jose but I had other business up in that area so I decided I'd head up and check them out. I went to the business only to find out that t hey were closed. In the middle of a Saturday. This was my first clue as to how terrible my experience was to be with them. I finally received a call back after the weekend and received an apology from some person other than Matt. I texted Matt Tuesday, 06/09/15, and received a reply later that day. Matt texted me that I could not test drive the trucks I'd asked about. He said to call but whenever I did, it went to voice mail and he never called me back. Matt asked whether I was paying cash or financing; I planned on and obtained pre-approval from my credit union. Matt said he would check with the credit union so there wouldn't be any problems. I doubt he ever did. I told him specifically that I had been pre-approved and the financing was taken care of. Instead of acquiescing to my request to test drive them, pretty common when buying a car, right, he continued to ask to speak with the person who I spoke with at my credit union. I've never had anybody ask to do that or be so difficult in trying to buy a vehicle. When I texted him that if I was unable to test drive the trucks I was interested in I would just continue looking elsewhere, his response was, "Please do." I persisted in attempting, for some reason, to set up a test drive, but to no avail. Matt continued to pester me about my loan. I finally told him, "See you buddy. Don't bother texting me." In comparison, I called a dealer in Sacramento, and despite telling him several times the truck I'd called about didn't interest me, he wouldn't let me off the phone! I was looking to spend close to $20K on one of Matt's trucks and I wasn't even worth a test drive much less a phone call. read more

I was super excited about this place. They normally have a decent selection of larger trucks. And the other day one popped up that I was VERY interested in. So I emailed Justin (who seems to be the owner or KID who runs the place) via the website to schedule an appointment to view the truck I wanted to look at.. Got a call back the next day. From there it went downhill. First off, Justin seems like a young kid who is more in it for making money then anything else. The short version of the story, Justin told me he was super busy and had lots of appointments to show rigs. He asked if I was paying Cash or already had my loan in place and ready to go. I told him the loan was no issue but I wasn't going to pull a loan for a truck I have not seen, looked at, test drove etc. If liked what I saw I would go get him a check from the Bank. Simple as that. He then proceeded to tell me that most his customers pay cash or come with the loan in hand. And that before he would make the time to see me he wanted to be sure I had the money ready to go. And that he didn't want to waste his time if I wasn't going to buy the truck after I looked at it. What an A$$ Hole! I am not going to commit to buy a vehicle without checking it out first and negotiating a price. And then we talked about price. He had the truck listed at about 7k over Blue Book. That is when Justin went on to say, "I don't use Blue Book prices" I price my vehicles based on the fact they are unique and not many are around for sale. We talked a little more pricing and he said was not willing to lower his price. But he MIGHT be willing to see it at the listed price OTD. He also said he would rather not sell me the truck at a lower price (closer to Blue Book mind you) but would rather sit on it till he could sell it at the higher price. What kind of thinking is that?? He said that since "they" own the vehicles he can sit on them and not lose money till someone is willing to pay the higher price. Again, from that comment, it tells me this kid is in it for the money, not to make a customer happy. Here is a quote from the "history" part of the company profile on Yelp......."By keeping our overhead low and buying directly from the source, we can pass the savings on to you!"........that statement is bullshit! Cause if he is selling his rigs at WAY over Blue Book, either Justin is getting ripped off and paying to much for his vehicles or he is just marking them WAY up to have a huge margin! I understand the need to make a profit, totally get that, but I know he didn't pay anywhere close to RETAIL Blue Book, so 7k above retail blue book, means he has to be making a HUGE Profit! Which isn't "passing the savings on to you" So I looked at a few of the other trucks and everything was WAY over Blue Book. And have been on the website for MONTHS! Now I understand way, with such a high markup of course they are going to sit. Overall, I was highly disappointed in Justin's attitude, his professionalism and the way he spoke to me as not being worth his time. He seems like a young kid that could use some training in customer service and how to talk to a potential customer. Needless to say, I will never be back and will never recommend this company. Yes some of the vehicles he has for sale are harder to find, but they are not impossible. Being hard to find is no reason for being so high above blue book, not willing to work on price and treating a customer with no respect. Especially in a soft economy.
