Mike and his crew did a great job. They confirmed there was a hot water slab leak, diagnosed what section had the leak and put in the pipe bypassing the leaking section. Did the pressure drop test to validate everything was good. Communication was clear on what we could use and not while the fix was being put in place. We had a water leak and initial response was good and they set us up with a water Damage company but then I tired to get them to come fix the original connection where there was a slow leak and they initially said they would come out but never showed and then didn't respond to messages left. UPDATE: I am updating this review after the issue I experienced has been resolved. Mike and his team were quick to respond to a potential water leak I experienced at my home. After work was completed on the home we had a disagreement related to the repair that was done. Mike has since rectified the issue and has gone above and beyond, in my opinion, in doing so. The only critique I will leave is for customers to ensure they do not authorize any work until they understand the price of the work. Depending on the complexity of the job, you may have to approve work incrementally but this will prevent being surprised during the billing process. With that in mind, I would recommend proactive plumbing to others in the area. read more

I have called Proactive Plumbing before and Mike has been to the house to do work. Mike is wonderful. Mike seems more busy now and has great plumbers on his staff. This is the first time we met Ben and Ben took care of all the work we needed done. Ben is very careful and responsive to the customer it was very sensitive to what we were needing. He has been a plumber for a long time and really knows what he's doing. He communicates in an excellent way. After having our experience with Ben we would request him in the future and hope that he will be the only person we deal with. He's very knowledgeable and helped us greatly in our home. The thing I wanna say is you can always tell in these kinds of business, where things can get expensive in a hurry, whether the plumber really cares about you and that your welfare, or is just out to make a quick buck and as much as possible. . I managed to cross-thread the piece that comes down out of the toilet tank while I was installing a DIY bidet. I called this company and whoever it was who took the call was very condescending. He seemed miffed that I had tried to do this install myself. He said it would cost a minimum of $250 to fix. I was surprised and asked if that was because he was mad at me for trying to do my own install. He said, "No, that's just how much it costs to drive a truck around to do business." In general, he was just unpleasant. I called someone else and got responsive, polite service and they didn't charge near what this guy wanted to charge me. These guys were awesome. I attempted to replace my water shutoff valve on my own and learn a new skill but I ran into an issue when routing the copper pipes correctly and realized that I was in over my head on the task, leaving the house without water overnight. No thanks to requesting quotes on Yelp, I only got a response from one company but they couldn't come out for a couple days. Thankfully, I found proactive plumbing. I called them up and they were able to come out the same day. Carl was great and informed me how a typical system is from the supply to main shutoff valve at the house. To my surprise, the cost was less than I had expected to be quoted, based on on my previous interactions with other companies. I'm so glad he had the right tools to finish the job. He was able to quickly finish the last section and test my soldering job for leaks, I had doubts about my work but to my surprise we had no leaks. I had a clogged toilet and came to the internet to look for a plumber, choosing Proactive based on the Yelp reviews. Set an appt. for a couple days later and no one showed up for the appt. The following day I received a call from Mike apologizing for missing the appt. He took ownership of what happened and said he would be at my front door after work. He was there before the agreed upon time and fixed the problem in less than 15 minutes. He did the job and without charge to make things right for missing the orignal appt. I called the main number and spoke to Mike about my water problem. He arranged for Kenneth Showers to come out the same day that I called to diagnose and repair a main line water leak near my meter. I was so relieved since I had to turn off the water at the street and my house had no water for hours already. I called the city's water department prior and the city employee confirmed that it was on my side and turned off the water. The source of the leak was undetermined so Kenneth suggested that I call a leak repair company to narrow down the location. Jeff at Pulse Leak Detection came out and found the leak close to the meter. Kenneth and Roger (plumber apprentice) came out after Jeff left and repaired the joint that came unglued. During this phase, Kenneth noticed that the shutoff valve was also leaking (slow leak) so he arranged to come back to repair that as well. To protect the hole with the new plumbing, Roger came back after hours with a board to cover the hole and placed landscape rocks on top to secure it. Kenneth was booked the next day (Friday) so he scheduled a return visit the following Monday the to fix the shutoff valve and replace the cartridge in the master bath that he noticed wasn't working when he turned on the water. During the second appointment, he replaced the shutoff valve with a new and improved model that is easier to work with. He also replaced the Moen cartridge in the master bathtub after resurfacing the valve due to corrosion. I am so relieved that I found a plumber that knows what he is doing and that his truck has all of the tools of the trade with replacement parts. I have noticed a recent trend with plumbing companies that they save money by having a minimal amount of tooling and not stocking replacement parts. That is really problematic since the customer has to go and get the part(s) at a home improvement store which defeats the reasoning for calling a plumber in the first place. I would definitely recommend Kenneth Showers and Proactive Plumbing to anyone who is looking for a good communicator as well as a quality plumber who is honest and knowledgeable. I am going to call Proactive Plumbers the next time I need any plumbing services done. read more

I noticed a water leak trickling down the wall in our downstairs' family room and right below our upstairs hall bathroom. This morning (a Saturday), my wife said, "Honey, there's no hot water. Would you go check the water heater, make sure the temperature didn't get moved?" So, I walked into the garage and - oh crummy buttons! There's water leaking from the hot water heater. So, I did some online research. I found LOTS of plumbers available, and even some who only do hot water heaters. But, one company caught my eye in the reviews because people kept mentioning the guys who are the plumbers: Mike and Steve. I figure that any company who is known by their guys has gotta be good, so I gave Proactive Plumbing a call. Mike answered, and even though I could only speak in a whisper (darn you, throat inflection from the flu!) he took my info and promised to be here in about an hour. About an hour later, he pulled up. He took a look at the situation, confirmed that I needed a new heater, quoted me a price and some options, and got to work. He worked fast, and (from what I can tell, but I know nothing about plumbing) did an expert job of replacing my water heater. When he handed me the bill, the amount was for $125 LESS than he had quoted, plus he did some extra work that he didn't charge me for. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? Well, it happened. When I least expected it, I noticed a small leak coming out of the side of my house . Within the next two days I went from extremely scared to pure elation. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating just a little, but it seemed that way at the time. I remembered seeing a yellow "Proactive Plumbing" van in my park, so I did a search, and called semi-frantically. I had found the leak on my own, and it was my water heater leaking. AHHHH!!! Anyway, Mike called me back pretty quickly, and it turns out he lives in my complex. He put everything on hold, and came right over. Not only did he get the old heater out quickly, so it would do too much damage, he got rid of any water left standing, and inspected the area before putting a new heater in place. All this happened right around the holidays, and since then, he has also done some work for my Mother-in-law that she was very pleased with. She's not very computer savvy, and I had totally spaced giving a review, so I figured I'd make sure to put in my two cents. On a Friday afternoon, I realized that I had a old flex pipe leaking from my new hot water heater. I live in a mobile home so the dripping sound was very audible. I called 6 plumbers and was told that I'd have to wait until Monday, or sometime next week. I was so pleased that Miles from Proactive Plumbing could come over within the hour. Have had Steve out to my house three times now for different plumbing jobs. Most recently he helped us deal with a hot water issue in our master bathroom. It was taking a ridiculous amount of time for us to get hot water because the hot water heater is so far away from the master bathroom. I did some internet research and decided we needed a tankless hot water heater to solve the problem. Called Steve to do the job. So Steve shows up...says he can do what I'm asking, or...he can save me $3000 and accomplish the same goal. 30 minutes later the job is done, and I have instant hot water in my master bathroom. No expensive tankless heater, but some kind of voodoo plumbing magic. Thank you Steve!!! Needless to say, Steve is now my hero. He gets big points for answering his phone - yes...he actually answered!! Also for showing up quickly, being incredibly neat (maybe voodoo plumbing magic doesn't create a mess), for coming up with a less expensive but just as good solution to my problem, and for being an all-around nice guy. I always look to find a silver lining in products and services. After two engagements with this company, I feel compelled to leave a brutally honest review. We had what we thought was a clogged toilet that at some point extended to the shower drain in the same bathroom. I called Proactive, and to their credit, they were able to squeeze me in the same day although they told me they were totally booked that day. Since they had been out before for a leaky faucet, which they were able to fix (although the tech was less than pleasurable to work with), I decided to give them another call for my toilet clog. A tech I won't call out by name came ahead of schedule (great! I thought), and again to his credit, immediately indicated the problem was in the main drain line (to the city feed). Once he pulled the cover to the main drain line in the garage, things started going south (not in the right way). Once the tech realized that the valve flap was involved, he immediately started posturing the issue to be something 'they couldn't take care of', and it would be way too expensive for them to engage in. He advised that we should do this ourselves, or get a 'contractor' to work on it, as this was too difficult for him/them, to take on. Disappointment immediately set in, as we thought the issue was SO MAJOR, we'd have to break up the garage concrete and dig down to replace the valve the tech indicated was in serious trouble, and would cause the entire house to be involved at any moment. In the end, we called Bill Howe Plumbing, having never worked with them before, to see if they had a different opinion. Bill Howe's team dug right in, literally, was able to open the flap valve opening Proactive Plumbing said they couldn't do, because it was 'too hard for them', and was able to resolve my issue that day, for the exact same price Proactive plumbing charged me for doing basically nothing but scaring us and saying they couldn't help. Proactive seem to have basic plumbing skills, but for us, they were anything BUT proactive. read more

I had a leak in an outdoor pipe on Friday night and plugged it up with some epoxy putty to slow the leak. I called Proactive Plumbing on Saturday morning expecting to be told to wait until Monday just like most plumbers would. Mike picked up the phone and said he would be over to the house immediately.
