This clinic has a team of specialists who are highly skilled in diagnosing and treating all types of pain. They'll work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your specific needs, and they're always available to answer any questions you have. I can't say enough good things about this clinic, and I highly recommend it to anyone dealing with chronic pain.

I have never in my life left a negative review. But I need to say something about my experience…read moretoday for future new patients. My situation is I am moving here from out of state. My current pain management doctor in the other state has me on medication that I don't particularly want to be on. It isn't any major meds everyone talks about but it is physically addictive and I need help with other pain management options. I am totally open to other options. Because I'm moving and getting a new doctor I called for an appointment and said I am open to any new ideas, BUT, I said, in truth and real life, I am on medication and I will need help getting off of it - if that is possible. So...I need a doctor who is willing to work with me on new ideas and medication, at least for now. I was told when making the appointment that capital pain institute doctors did that, but there was no guarantee, etc., to which I said 'of course, totally understandable'. But, again, they Do Handle Pain Med Management. It says they do on their webpage, and there's a sign at the check-in desk that says medications will be submitted by 6 PM. And, I even spoke to the girl who checked my vitals and asked if she enjoyed working there. I asked if people sometimes got mad about mixups with their meds, because I had witnessed that in NV, and she talked about how patients have been really nice at that office so far. POINT IS, they obviously do medication management. BUT, for some reason, NOT FOR ME. I meet with the doctor and I tell her exactly what's going on. I talk to her about the medication and needing someone who can prescribe it at least until I can stop taking it because other options will hopefully be available! I talked to her about how I don't want to take the medication forever and I that my NV doctor and I spoken about it several times. But without options, I cannot work or live outside of pain without it, at least for NOW, but I am praying not forever. I NEVER ASKED FOR MEDS TODAY. I take my meds correctly and don't need any today. It never even crossed my mind. Sooooo, after all that, the doctor says that Capital Pain Institute does not provide pain medicine management so I am not a good fit. Seems strange that they don't provide it per this doctor, considering all the other signs that they do provide it. But for whatever reason I was referred to go find another doctor. I am a 60 year-old professional woman. I can think of no reason why I would be looked at or treated as somebody who is out pill searching. I did not ask for pills today. I made all of this clear when I made the appointment, and when I was at the appointment. My issue is either the doctor, for no apparent reason, did not want me to be a patient with them, or their advertisements are NOT TRUE. One way or another, this morning wasted 3 1/2 hours of my life. And I was ultimately belittled if they do offer med management but just not for me. I hope that whatever the answer is Capital Pain Institute chooses to handle their other patients a little better than this. I absolutely despise pain management and the stigma that comes with it and I know there are a lot of other people that feel like me. We don't enjoy spending our lives in pain. I WILL NEVER KNOW THE TRUTH OF WHAT HAPPENED TODAY. But if their system is fixable and it prevents this from happening to people in way worse situations than me, then I am glad I took time out of my life to write this. Blessings to the other people like me who have suffered under the incompetence of pain management in America!! I am giving 2 stars for the staff in the office who were lovely. The doctor seemed nice and caring, so I am giving her the benefit of doubt, and I am hoping this is an advertising issue Cap Pain Institute will fix.

The staff was very professional and the whole online patient portal was user friendly for patient account set up, check in and co-pay. After he reviewed my test results, Dr.Kaplan explained in detail the medical issue that was causing my back pain, and the options available to me for treatment. After choosing the treatment that we felt I would benefit from the most we proceeded from there. The experience as a whole was great. Now I am loving the results of a pain free back! Thanks, Dr. Kaplan! Tim W

The only good thing about this place are the nurses; all of them, without exception, are kind and caring folks with good bedside manner. More than I can say about the doctor himself. Dr Kaplan has to be one of the worst doctors I've ever seen as far as bedside manner. He never sat with us more than maybe 5 minutes, enough time to make notes and leave. He gave the bare minimum of attention to my client when she was talking at any point, and interrupted her constantly to cut the conversation shorter. The one and only time he acknowledged ME was before a procedure, where he asked me to tell my client (who was in another room) not to call the office with any concerns for at least 24 hours unless it was an emergency. On our last visit with him, he straight-up told my client (who by this point was in so much pain she could barely leave her apartment and was feeling the emotional distress from that) that she was too emotional for him to deal with. That other people had it way worse than her and THEY didn't cry. Lastly, he told her that even after the two tests she had been through, he would not perform the final procedure on her until she proved to him that she was on an antidepressant (???????????????????) Now the office is giving us the run-around, pushing our next appointment back a week, then another week, then saying we would have to go to a surgical center because they just don't have the tools they need. I've flat-out encouraged my client to quit giving this practice any more of her money; waiting to see a doctor who will treat her with some dignity will be 1000x better than ever seeing this doctor again. TDLR: This doctor's bedside manner is awful, DO NOT RECOMMEND

I moved here from CA and I knew plenty of Orthopedic surgeons and had considered even flying back out there. But a good friend highly recommended Dr. John Paul Rodriguez so I decided to give it a try. I had never had a knee problem but after my first visit, and imaging, it was determined I had a meniscal tear. The pain was pretty bad but I was able to walk with some assistance. When I met with Dr. Rodriguez again, he gave me a choice of surgery or waiting it out. Initially, wanting this to go away sooner, I opted for surgery. But as we were getting into scheduling the surgery, I had decided to wait it out and see if it would get better. After a full year, my knee pain had significantly improved, but I could still feel what I could only guess was the tear. It was worse with certain activities and it was starting to limit what I normally was able to do. So, after a year of conservative treatment, I decided to revisit Dr. Rodriguez. Something I really appreciated is they didn't make me start all over from square one. We essentially picked up where I had left things. I felt I did as much as I could to give the knee a chance to heal if it was going to but realized this was basically as good as it was going to get non-surgically. Dr. Rodriguez really listened to me and ultimately we agreed to go ahead with the surgery. A special thanks goes out to Madison Gaul, Dr. Rodriguez's surgery scheduler. She was exceptionally helpful in getting me scheduled on a date and time that worked for me. She was very clear about everything I needed in order to get clearance for the surgery and very accommodating with the scheduling. The day of the surgery could not have been more uneventful. I had surgery at their surgery center and everyone involved was very nice and did everything they could to make sure I was comfortable. I blinked my eyes and the next thing I knew I was in recovery. They had already called the person who was going to give me a ride and as soon as I was a bit more alert, I was able to leave. Post-operatively I really didn't know what to expect with respect to pain. I will call it "Tylenol" or "Ibuprofen" pain because that was all I needed that first night. My leg was wrapped in a compression dressing that I needed to leave on for 10 days until my next visit. And during the ten days, I was able to bear weight and didn't even need the crutches I had and never needed anything stronger than ibuprofen. At my first post-op appointment, all was well. They removed the sutures and addressed all of my questions which were primarily about when I could resume bike riding. It has been just a little over six months and I cannot say enough good things about this practice and Dr. Rodriguez. My knee feels so great, I often forget I had surgery this year. I don't regret taking the year to see if it would get better, but I am so happy I had the surgery. I am back to riding my bike 10 - 20 miles a day and have even done some long 30 mile rides. I have not needed to even take an ibuprofen in more than four months and my knee feels as great as the uninjured knee.

I wanted to go to a chiropractor mainly because I've noticed that the entire right side of my body "hitches" about 2 inches higher than my left. This could be for multiple reasons (a severe knee injury on my left side, age, etc) but regardless, I wanted to see if a chiropractor could help even me out and support my overall health and wellness. My initial visit was very much a general consult with a lot of pictures and X-rays taken. The second visit was a review of these findings along with the development of a treatment plan. I also was pleased that the second visit included actual therapy and an adjustment. Now, here's where sadly the US medical system and insurance get involved and kind of ruin the overall vibe. Depending on your insurance, these visits and therapies may or may not be covered. I have a Cigna high deductible plan and while SOME of my visit was covered (since I'd met my yearly deductible) most of the cost was not so direct to me. The office did provide various payment plan options (and offered discounts if paid in full for the proposed treatment plan). I ended up opting for care credit which will just disperse the cost over a year. Overall, the staff and office are fantastic. The therapies themselves are quick (you can be in and out within 20-25 min). I'm on maybe week 3 out of my program and haven't noticed any significant difference YET but I also know I'm there mainly for prevention and wellness so I can't expect drastic results this soon. I would absolutely recommend this office and their staff - just be cautious if you're worried about insurance coverage/cost.

I was informed he would not recommend or prescribed anything until after the MRI. There was zero concern for my pain nor any follow-up after I did the MRI which showed several issues. Dr. Mancera obviously did not care about the pain due to his lack of follow-up or willingness to prescribe anything else but a medication that after research I did not feel safe taking. Although they seemed to know what they were doing, I didn't get very much relief. Billing was an absolute nightmare however. I got bills that didn't make any sense. Spent hours and hours trying to get it straightened out. After months of tremendous frustration, they got a woman who was actually able to help with it. They had made several BIG mistakes (billing twice for the same thing, etc.), that were always in THEIR favor. Eventually, got it squared away (I ended up owing over $2,000 less than they were trying to get from me). By then treatment was complete and their new "suggestions" weren't terribly helpful (for instance, a $2,500 back brace which wouldn't allow me to sit in my chair at work). Just not very good at what they do and terrible at billing. I'm very glad that I'm not dealing with them anymore. There are plenty of other really good Pain Management Practices around.
