Donald's great. Very nice and very competent. He's from my birthplace of New Orleans so he gets points for that too. He just replaced several sections of my sidewalk. Tree roots had shattered and raised up concrete sections in front of my house. I pulled up the sections planning to lay them back down after getting rid of the roots. But, it was a big mess and I needed to fix it quickly before someone tripped or the city issued a citation. I am very happy with the entire experience of working with this company. Mr. Jingles was highly recommended to me and his work was right on. He came out within a day to give me an estimate which he provided in writing. When I was ready to do the work, he and his very polite crew arrived 15 minutes early and ready to work. My new driveway and partial garage were dug up in the time he said it would take. The crew quickly cleaned up along the way and were attentive to pedestrian traffic. A woman got a flat tire in front of my house, and one of the crew went out to change her tire, for which she was incredibly grateful. I was impressed. The workers on the crew were meticulous and did an excellent job cleaning up at the end of the day, including blowing out and hosing down inside my garage. The crew came by to check on their work two days later. When they removed the lumber framing, they even took more time to sand down some imperfections they saw. I thought the work was perfect and showed great attention to details such as making perfect lines in the sidewalk for drainage that matched exactly to the existing pattern. After a number of disappointments with other concrete companies not providing bids, or not returning calls. After so many positive reviews, I was very eager to meet up with Jingles, who actually answered the phone when I initially called and met with me the next day. He was charming and energetic and did not indicate any issues about providing a bid for this job (driveway and sidewalk, patio in back). I mentioned that I had companies leave me hanging and didn't understand lack of response I recently had from another company (thank you Kid). A bit overdue but better later than never. We hired Professional Concrete Services (Donald Jingles) in July 2018 to completely redo the driveway and walkways of my parents' house. Just poured cement nothing fancy. Initially the City marked up a few sidewalk squares for replacement/correction but we decided that whoever was going to fix the squares might as well replace the whole front, just to make everything more uniform and for curb appeal. We got several bids and Professional Concrete Services quote was definitely the lowest of them all, like SIGNIFICANTLY less. A bit skeptical at first but based on reviews and other research, we pulled the trigger. Donald was very attentive and responsive. He told us that he was going to take care of everything, permits, paperwork for the City, etc. Donald is very knowledgeable and was honest and upfront about everything. He asked me to send him an email with the time to remind him because he was on a job. I texted and emailed. When it was time to meet, I went over to my new space to wait. I had a skunk dig under my foundation . It took me a month to get her and her kits out from underneath. I needed 2 holes closed up, but was worried about how far down the foundation went and if she would be able to get in again. I called 2 concrete companies and didn't get an answer ( this was during Covid shelter in place). I saw the positive reviews of Mr Jingles and called him. He answered right away came out the same day to evaluate and made an appointment for the work in 2 days. He and his very nice assistant came 15 minutes early and after checking again with me on what work I wanted done, got down to it. He discovered that the foundation went quite a ways down and that only one area needed a deep dig and put in a beautiful 3 foot long 3 foot deep by 4 inch concrete fix completely closing up the problem area. He and his assistant worked straight for 3 hours, no breaks. He checked with me throughout and showed me honestly what needed to be done. We are really grateful to have found Mr. Jingles! We interviewed over 10 concrete guys to redo our driveway. It had an unfortunate incline, scraping the bottom of the car each time we drove into the driveway, especially with heavy loads. But we needed to maintain the drainage slope to avoid flooding our garage. Got lots of less-than-optimistic suggestions; one contractor even told us to just get a new car with a higher undercarriage :/. Mr. Jingles figured out how to maintain the slope and drainage. He acquired the permits and it worked out great! That's what comes with this kind of immense experience and work ethic. The final driveway looks and functions better than we could have even imagined. The crew even built a separate curb for the flowerbed. We were so impressed! We also used Mr. Jingles' plumber recommendation (Eric Brand) to scope and replace a blocked clean out under the driveway. Proprietor owner Donald Jingles and his crew redid eight sidewalk squares to lower my driveway ramp from the curb into my Richmond District house garage. The bottom of my front bumpers were always scrapping against a sidewalk peak in the driveway. This needed to end. His experienced and well trained crew, sealed off the area, cut the squares, jack hammered out the old concrete, poured new concrete and carefully laid out the new driveway. Done in six hours. The finished product looked professionally done and I was able to drive on it within 78 hours. He and his crew were friendly, neat, and organized. The sidewalk was kept clean and minimized foot traffic obstruction. My neighbor hired him to replace over 20 sidewalk squares and after seeing his work I was convinced he was the one. While Jingles might be hard to reach, I had no trouble but I kept calling and was rewarded with a very reasonable quote and excellent work. Working with Donald Jingles was a pleasure. We made plans with our neighbor to have a tree removed. Because of damage done to the sidewalk by the tree roots, portions of it needed to be replaced. We planned to have Professional Concrete Service come out in advance of removing the tree to take up the concrete, then come back after to replace it. At the last minute, the tree removal company rescheduled the job for one week later. Mr. Jingles was very accommodating and agreed to come out the following week. He consulted with us and the tree removal company in advance, and answered all of our questions. He took care of getting the permit and provided us with a copy. The tree removal took one day longer than planned, but again, Mr. Jingles was very accommodating. He took care to take up and replace the sidewalk in stages so that it was always possible for pedestrians to pass (we live on a very busy street). The cost was reasonable, and most importantly the sidewalk looks great! We will definitely contact Professional Concrete Service anytime we need work done. read more
