I would strongly advise against utilizing the services of Professional Lock & Safe company. The young technician, who was competent and friendly, examined my safe lock, replaced the 9-V battery, waited five minutes for the reset, and successfully activated the digital pad lock. This entire process took under ten minutes, yet the company charged $180.41. This seems excessive and highway robbery. Charging $100 for labor to change and out in a 9-V battery and recommending a specific energizer battery took barely a minute on top of the service call and battery cost. Even the digital pad was still brand new as I replaced it five years ago and it didn't even cost me that much back then. This was truly outrageous and beyond overpriced. Highway robbery! read more

I was recently locked out of my office and called these guys to help. Little did I know what I was in for. Dispatch tells me the locksmith is on his way and would be there fast they wernt kidding. Locksmith that was disbatch to my location was super fast. Was able to open my locks, make new keys and be on his way in little under 15 mins. WOW! So guess what? Just one day after the building owner changes the outside lock again without my knowledge. Unknowingly that I just had the doors rekeyed myself. I call these guys up again and wow. Fixed my problem rekeyed all my locks (again) and got me back to business in no time. Since I have had zero issues and my locks upen and lock so super smooth. So I went in to get some locks, high quality. The store is literally the size of a parking attendant booth, however they have licensing by BEST as an authorized dealer so I thought I would give them a try. This is the only reason they have 2 stars, best lock cert. otherwise it would be 1.... -They are primarily locksmith on call business and they make keys, however I wanted to order some double deadbolts. They have only one of each high quality lock on site, everything is on order unless I wanted to downgrade. So I got a quote of about 800 for the locks I wanted, fair priced for best locks if I self install etc etc... This is market value and its a good deal. I come back and talk to them to place this 800 dollar order and now a different clerk does a price switch on me. I now have to pay DOUBLE, 1600 for 4 double deadbolts if I remember right. I go, "well I was quoted 800 last week and I wanted to place my order" clerk goes "let me check with the owner" -The owner is sitting behind a tiny wall in this booth watching TV, he doesn't even have the common courtesy to walk out and talk with me when I CAN SEE HIM DIRECTLY. The shop is like an 8' by 10' store and this guys is pretending I don't exist. -The clerk comes back and says that the other clerk has made an error and he can't sell them for less than that, no exceptions. I yell over to the owner, "I was quoted a price" and he kinda hollers back "That must have been joey, the young guy, he screwed up" Still not looking at me or coming out of his 'hidey hole'.... The clerk says sorry and asks if I want the locks, I said let me think on it... YEP, NEVER went back... you can't give a man a price punch in the gut of 1600 big ones and not expect them to be ticked guys. Lets teach your employees how to read the order sheets and prices, its all laid out even if it WAS an error you need to own up as a business and not leave the little guy hanging here... even a fractional discount would have netted them my business for the error, but they stiffed me. I came to the key shop today (a shack that helps duplicate keys) and thought this place was kinda cool as you can see all different types of keys hanging. I waited a while as there was a customer in front of me, but I was in no hurry. I told the clerk/key copier that I had been to 2 different locations and they aren't able to copy both keys, only one. The clerk stated that he could copy them and literally copied both keys in less than a minute! I asked where the key covers are as he used the same key to copy both. For 2 small keys it was less than $5 which is awesome because I've paid more at larger hardware stores. What took me back though was the conversation I had with the clerk. When I told him that I had to make copies for my boss, he stated in a way as to why I'm doing it instead of him and that having to go get copies made for your boss is petty/uncommon work. I didn't take it personally as it's my job (executive assistant) , but I think if it were someone else, they might have been insulted. I will come back to this place if I need any more keys copied as they are able to copy car keys too (keys that have microchips, etc.) read more

These guys need some customer service advice. I wanted to have a key made (lost) for a cabinet at my office. They acted like it was no problem and started grinding out the new key immediately. I was impressed, until they asked me for FIFTEEN BUCKS! I questioned the ridiculous amount and an arrogant manner, the owner explained that because he had to make it without the lock is was higher cost. He spent all of 2 minutes making the key! He then added that is would not be guaranteed to work. And of course, it DIDN'T. I went back told them they should have explained to me the cost factors before making the key. Bad client advisory!! I should have WALKED OUT and left them with the worthless key at the first visit, but I'm not that kind of guy. read more

I needed to make a copy of a key for my boss. Since I'm still unfamiliar with Sac & the surrounding areas, I took to yelp. I wasn't too worried about how stellar somewhere was, but I wanted somewhere close. When I got here, the only employee was taking out the trash, but was back quickly. In about 20 seconds I had my key ready to go. The best part was, I got my new key for free. Not intentionally, I'm sure. When I tried to pay- key valued at $1.65- with my debit card, the guy told me it was okay, and that I could just pay him next time I had a key need. Um, thanks. read more

It seems to me that these guys have a good business tactic--risk a possible small financial loss in order to gain a potential repeat customer. According to yelpers, free keys are worth the gamble for them. Worked on me! I went straight home and wrote a review too! We needed a duplicate key for our trailer. 3 big name stores didn't have anything close. Another local locksmith attempted to make me one from a motorcycle key (and said I could return it if it didn't work--which it didn't) and so I figured it was worth trying this place on Coloma and sunrise. So glad I did! They made a key and said, "Make sure it works and you can pay us if it does." What?! I couldn't believe it! And guess what... Their key worked! 1 star for having the correct blank in stock 1 star for being able to find it 1 star for cutting it quickly 1 star for "charging" me less than half of what the other place charged me (he only quoted me the price--I haven't paid for it yet) 1 star for letting me pay for it after I tested it! I'll be back to pay for this key and make 2 more spares. Plus, they will now be my go-to over those big box stores! read more

Steer clear of this company, as they are sloppy and do not stand behind their work. *** I have a commercial building with 11 suites, and asked Professional to re-key all to a master system. A year later while I had 4 of the suites re-keyed for a new tenant I discovered that the key for one of the suites also worked on the doors for other suites. Their master system matrix was not configured properly. I have a new tenant to fill the last vacant suite, and called them to come re-key that suite. I spoke with the manager and asked if while they were there could they correct their mistake. She said they would do it, but that they would not do it for "free". I explained that it's not free, but it is to correct what they did not do right the first time and their locksmith would already be on site. They refused, so I am taking my business elsewhere. read more

If I could give them no stars, I would! I used them the 1st time as they were suggested by my Door Subcontractor. I had them set up to go out to the site, and because I did not "confirm" they did not show up. I called & called the contact (who is the Owner!) and it took forever to get him to respond. He stated because he never received a final confirmation he did not send his crew out. I gave them another chance to do additional work on the same job. Had them all set up, called and confirmed 2 days before the job was scheduled - they confirmed they would be there. Then the day they were to be there - nobody showed up. We could not get a hold of anyone, nobody returned calls. We had to have the space unsecured with only a construction lock all weekend. Got a lame excuse on Monday morning, and have been waiting 3 hours on when they will get out to the site to do their work! DO NOT USE!!!! read more
