Tina was amazing! I laughed my head off as I screamed in pain. My first Brazilian wax. Of course I was shy and confused and covering my face with my hands but when the first strip went off, those hands flew off!! I screamed and started laughing at the same time. It was too funny. She was really good though. Talked me through it and told me I'd get used to it and it won't hurt so much if I stuck to waxing. She threaded my brows as well and I took that like a champ. Nothing new there. The only issue I had was the small waxing room. Thinking of it, I've not been to any other waxing room so I have nothing to compare it to really. Maybe all waxing rooms are small. I came here for eyebrow and upper lip threading. The lady who helped me (unfortunately, don't know her name) did the job really quickly. I didn't check out my brows very closely before paying and leaving (mistake), but inspected them later that day and found they were scraggly, and the outer side of my left brow had a weird dent in the top.There were a lot of stray hairs left between my eyebrows and they just generally looked bad, not neat and clean like they usually do after good threading. I paid $11 plus tip for upper lip and eyebrows, which is on the cheap side, but not worth it IMO. Other places I've been come out to $16 but look a lot better. read more

Just under an hour I was done with my full body wax (which includes the Brazilian wax) upper lips and eye brow threading and side burn wax and she is thorough with it and her pulling the strip is relatively softer than other places I have tried. They don't double dip and are reasonably priced. read more

My brows are now runway worthy. I have been growing out my brows for 4 months, since the last place I went to totally massacred my brows. I brought my cousin for a henna tattoo. When I called, I had an appointment for 5pm and on the day, they called me at 1pm asking where I was at. Over the phone, I explained what he wanted to get and the lady told me it would cost him $25 max. He ended up paying $30. They couldn't wrap his arm with cellophane and he froze his A... off coming back home (20 degrees). And finally the henna smells like cat pee which is weird as it usually smells henna not pee. The color is not that dark after the drying process so I think they dilute it with something weird. Anyways, I don't recommend this place for henna tattoo. I'd say go to an Indian store, buy the henna powder and any kind of pouch/tube with thin point and do it yourself. read more

Why is everyone raving about this place? DO NOT GO FOR THE BRAZILIAN WAX. I REPEAT, DO NOT GO FOR THE BRAZILIAN!!! It was probably the most painful experience ever, to the extent that my entire back and palm were sweating -- and mind you, I have an absurd pain tolerance, my friends call me the iron woman (no joke). First of all, they don't use hard wax, but STRIP WAX for such a sensitive area. Then I decided to get my upper lip waxed (I don't do threading). And again, it was strip wax...It was so bad and the job was not clean. It was really cheap though, I think it was around 40$ for the brazilian and upper lip, which would've cost me around 80$ + tip at my usual place on 23rd street. I really wanted to love this place since it's near where I live and inexpensive, but I think I'll stick with my old place for now. And also, I just love businesses that put the blame on customers! It was totally my fault for not calling ahead of time to ask about who in the world still uses strip wax for sensitive areas! Go them! read more

So finally I found a good place where I can come on regular basis to get my eyebrows done the staff was excellent took good care of me and the best thing I liked was they know what are they doing coz in my case my eyebrows grow weirdly and it's a very difficult job to give it a good shape but the lady did an excellent job and I loved it I highly recommend this place read more

Stopped by today without an appointment and was seen right away. I was attracted to the price and the no double dipping rule regarding the wax. Tina was very nice and efficient. Some places double dip and the workers do not wear gloves. Not here. I gave it 4 stars because she did double dip when it came to the underarms. I'm so picky about the way my eyebrows need to be done and I didn't trust anyone to do them. Every time I would go to get them waxed somewhere they were way too thin and most of the time totally uneven and id have to grow them back out. Then my roommate went to Nazma's place and told me I needed to check it out. I went to get a threading and eyebrow tint and explained to Nazma my concerns and she assured me she had everything under control, she did. I would definitely recommend anyone to this salon as I have gone twice already. It's right across from YTTP so I actually wandered over here by accident. I got my eyebrows threaded on the first visit. Very simple. No pain. No mess. No attitude. So they were all good in my book. Then I saw that they offered a Groupon for Brazilian Wax..... This time, on purpose, I ended up there ready to spread it wide and take it all off. My lady, Nevi, was very accommodating to my nervous laughter and painful jerks. She talked me through it and made a very uncomfortable situation very soothing. At the end she gave me a coupon card so all the Brazilian Waxes I get from here on out are at the same Groupon price. Update: LOL! Nice response. This should give people an idea of what I am talking about. My low pain threshold? I am a Naval Officer. And I get my eye brows threaded regularly. I know it is not pain free. My point is that your staff isn't doing it properly and it hurts way more than anything I have ever experienced in my years of getting my eye brows threaded. Taking some accountability would be the first step in taking care of the issue. No wonder this place is dead empty the two times I have gone. Let me tell you, the shape comes out pretty nice, but they will hurt you like hell. I almost screamed at them "what the f*ck are you doing?" Love their Brazilians! They make you feel so comfortable. They take their time, make sure you're okay, and they don't double dip! Update: So being a loyal customer that constantly visits 2-3 weeks, I give them at least $30 for a Brazilian each time I go (I thought that was pretty good since I paid for the service I asked for and gave $5 tips which was optional). But they were so ungrateful and demanded that I pay 25% tips for everything. I would not pay $32 for a job that was left undone. The last 2-3 times wasn't their best. They rushed through the Brazilian and wouldn't spark a conversation anymore or ask if you're okay. They leave it unclean, other places can do it better. So I've been here now 4 or 5 times. I've tried a few different people and all were good but Tena is my favorite. She doesn't take off too much and always does exactly what I want without me having to explain too much. Now that I go regularly, every 2-3 weeks I don't experience much pain at all, barely any actually and my eyebrows are shaped just how I like. My eyebrows are very rectangle and thin at the ends, but Tena manages to give them a shape that is just perfect for me. I recommend here and wont be trying any other places for threading. read more

I have been coming to Nezma for almost 2 years now. I have very thick middle eastern eyebrows that need expert hands to tame. She is such a lovely lady! I really enjoy coming into the salon everyone is so nice. It is so affordable and clean I recommend all my friends to her. The other girls are great too but she is my favorite. I came here for the very first time about two weeks ago for a Brazilian wax, and they did an AMAZING job. Not being from New York whenever I come and stay here for extended periods of time I always end up waiting until going back to LA, but this time the wait was too long and I decided it was time to try something new. I just so happened to be in the area so I began to yelp and discovered this place. I called about 15-10 minutes until closing time and I let them know I was literally two blocks away and asked if I could come in that same day, the lady on the phone was very polite and told me they were closing a couple minutes late today and if I came in they would take care of me. I was happy to find a place that had such stellar reviews and that could accommodate me even though it was last minute. I am SO picky and iffy when it comes to these types of places, who wouldn't be? Especially since they are dealing with an intimate area. When I got there they were polite and took care of me right away, the place is small but clean. They have a few chairs with salon mirrors for threading and a private waxing room in the back. Overall I was pleased with my experiences here, Tina made me feel as comfortable as she could while being quick and thorough. Besides they use chocolate wax which leaves your skin really smooth and it smells good. The only complaint I do have is that I have very sensitive skin and she did burn me a couple times, but it was nothing major. The price for a Brazilian is as good as it gets, only $25, which is nothing to me since I pay nearly triple in California, $65 for the same service. I was walking on Saint Marks place and saw a sign for $6 eyebrow threading that caught my attention. I've never had my eyebrows waxed or professionally plucked and definitely never experienced threading. I normally pluck my eyebrows and do a decent job, but I've been wanting someone to "clean" them up a little bit. I was a little nervous about going in since it is a small, tiny place, but decided to check it out after reading some other Yelp reviews. I was greeted immediately when I walked in and asked if I could have my eyebrows threaded "a little bit" just to "clean" it up, since it was my first time. The lady assured me that it would be possible and to take a seat and wait for the threader lady to finish her client. It was a pretty quick and not very painful experience. Maybe about 5-10 mins max for the whole thing? The woman (Pam) did a good job and listened to me. She didn't take very much away, but definitely defined my arches a little bit more and made it even on both sides. I've been coming here for 3 years now and i love it. It's cheap they are extremely nice and they do a wonderful job on my eyebrows. I have had random people come up to me and tell me I have good eyebrows all because I've been dedicated to coming here and getting them threaded. I have also gotten a brazillian wax a long time ago (only stopped because I started laser) and it was the best wax I've ever gotten. Little to no pain experienced, very quick. I went back to PTS about 5 days ago for another underarm wax and a first brazilian there. For the first time, i've had MUCH less irritation on my brazilian than at other places. The girl told me to put neosporin after my wax and I think that calmed it a bit. I usually get huge breakouts down there and redness for like 2 weeks after waxing. But I used some neosporin, cotton undies and actually put tea tree oil and it really calmed everything and I can now enjoy my brazilian, thanks to their advice. And at $25.00, i will be back in a few weeks :) read more

Absolutely excellent Brazilian wax! Rahat did an AMAZING job. She was very attentive, careful and not to mention- she moved very fast! I was in and out in a matter of 10/15 minutes. I've literally never had a Brazilian so thorough yet so pain-free and quick before.
