We had Proficient Plumbing do a large job, they connected our detached garage to the water main at our house. It was about 300' away, they had to use a trenching machine and navigate the driveway and a stone wall. They treated the job like they were working on their own house, they paid particular attention to ensuring that they didn't uproot any trees or damage our stone wall. After the trenching was finished and they covered the trench you wouldn't even know they had been there. They used quality materials and went one-step above and beyond by installing a tracer wire - I was impressed. They called me before they came out and immediately following the job to ensure that I was happy. Bertin and his crew came out to my house and installed an outdoor shower, outside hose connection, and helped repair an inside shower head that wasn't working properly. I had also asked him to hook up my BBQ grill to natural gas and he explained that, even though HomeDepot had told me it could be hooked up and sold me the adapter kit to do so, that the gas grill really couldn't be converted from propane to natural gas. From the first phone call with Bertin, to actually meeting with Chris and Garrett, we couldn't have asked for a better experience concerning our plumbing next steps. The best service calls, for us, are the ones in which we can learn practical things. This experience was way up there. Concerns leading to the initial call: *Hot water heater - Insufficient supply for entire home *Proper insulation of exposed pipes (positioned in tight spots) *Remodel practicalities - Odd bathroom/toilet setup, kitchen sink... First off, these guys shoot from the hip and I could tell they had no intention of high-jacking our wallet for a king's ransom. For each scenario, Chris thoroughly explained what was possible, and appropriate solutions---good, better, best, kind of like the old school Sears catalog. They took their time, were detailed in explanations and overall, it was just a really nice, informative conversation about all things plumbing. They were personable, professional and straightforward. For instance, we'd been thinking about a hot water heater replacement. Chris shared what conversion to a tankless system would call for--a permit, fancy, new-fangled, overhead, wiring--basically a whole lotta' money (which consequently is why so many of the newer homes are so much pricer). He then provided an alternative solution to give us exactly what we needed, made way more sense and is cost efficient. So, we've got our estimate and next steps. All we need to do is make a few last hardware decisions and call them back for service. We're looking forward to their return (and may even have some cookies awaiting these guys)! read more

Bought our home about a year ago. No plumbing issues until I noticed a leak coming from our water heater. Was referred too Proficient by a few different neighbors. To my surprise they had someone come out same day to assess the leak. The tech showed up within 10 minutes of the agreed time and was polite and courteous. He also gave me a few options from a few different repairs all the way to a replacing the water heater. I opted for a new tankless system like we had in our previous home. Rather than try to patch it up, the new system seemed like the best choice. Again, to my surprise they were able to schedule the install for the very next day. The same tech showed up exactly on time, got started and worked all day to get the system installed. At the end of the day when the system was about done being installed, I was taken back when the owner of the company came by our house to check up on the install. I've never had that happen. He was satisfied with his tech's work, but the extension cord used to power the system was a little to long and didn't look "clean enough" to the owner. They asked if they could come back the next day with a better sized cord (the one they had brought was too long). I agreed. The following day, again, the tech showed up at agreed time, quickly replaced the cord and then proceeded to walk me through the new system (including registering the new tank with manufacturer for warranty). They even scheduled the maintenance for it a year out. I'm very impressed with the quality of work and customer service. This is a newer company (only around about a year), but they have my business when it comes to any of our plumbing needs. read more
