Yesterday I was contacted by David from Progress Appliance Repair and he explained the work that needed to be done to my refrigerator, my options and costs. He took his time to explain everything and what to expect in the coming years when owning a LG refrigerator. FYI - they are bad. Look it up! Lawsuits, settlements and everything. Anyway, David came out the same day, fixed my refrigerator in about 2hrs, his price was very reasonable and I am beyond happy with the job he has done! Thank you David and Progress Appliance Repair!!! 2 stars because they were responsive. I was told the driver would text me 30 minutes before he came. He texted me that he would "be there in 20 minutes" and an hour later he arrived. He looked at my refrigerator to diagnose the problem and that process took 3 hours! He was on his phone the whole time, getting instructions I believe, and when he left he told me that it would be $245 in labor cost alone! Then the parts would cost $600! I was supposed to get a call on Monday to get a proper qoute, I am still waiting for that call. Actually, no I'm not. Going elsewhere. They might be great but I must have gotten them on a bad day. UPDATE! I was contacted by a supervisor who explained the situation with my refrigerator and why it took so long for the repair tech to asses the problem. Our dishwasher was pooling water at the bottom. Tried to troubleshoot but didn't work. We called Progress and tech Dennis came out to investigate and determined a bad water pump. As soon as the part came in he returned and installed the pump and now our d/w works just fine. It was a tricky install because when the tile was installed in the kitchen (before we moved in to this house) it pretty much blocked in the dishwasher, but Dennis did a great job. Plus, when I coordinated Dennis' return visit, Yuliana texted me which was so much better than having to call. Their communication was easy and pricing was reasonable. We had David come out in April to take care of our Samsung refrigerator. Ice maker was frozen. We did not know that it is a common problem with Samsung. He came the same day. He provided an estimate and replaced our ice maker the same day later. 6 months later the ice maker stopped making ice again. I was not sure if it is the same issue or not. I set another appointment and Dmitry came out this time. It was the same issue but this time we forgot to close the ice maker door :( The fridge was out of warranty, but he defrosted the icemaker. I tried reaching out to several repair places to fix my washer with no success and then I found Progress Appliance. Julianna picked up the phone and was able to schedule within 2 hours on the same day! The technician was on-time, mask on, covered shoes and super nice guy. He listened to my description checked out the machine, opened up the back found the problem and confirmed what I expected. Time for a new washer. This is the second time I've used Dmirty, and will forever keep him in my contact list. He has fixed my Mielè dishwasher that nobody else would touch, and today my dryer, as well as a full service and vacuums out of lint from all the moving parts. He is thorough and clean, he took it apart into so many pieces to clean I was amazed. He responded on a Sunday night and came the following day. What an honest company. I called to see what was wrong with my Viking refrigerator. On the phone David told me that they need to send somebody to check the issue. They sent Dmitry the same day. He replaced just the inverter board, but other company told me to replace the compressor for $2490!!! It's nice to see professional, honest company. I was need my LG dryer on Saturday. It was no heat. Progress Appliance technician was able to come the same day afternoon. He was wearing mask, gloves, booties. Very professional! He cleaned the dryer, replaced the thermostat. He asked to replace the belt for the drum with a little charge for part only. The total was very reasonable $275 for everything. Progress Appliance Repair tech came by arranged time. My GE refrigerator was not working. Fan motor was not rotating. He fixed what he could and completely explained every step and why. Very pleased with Progress Appliance. We called on Saturday afternoon about broken Samsung washer, and they sent tech the same evening. Tech diagnosed problem quickly, ordered a new control board, and came back a day later to install. Very punctual both times. Very professional throughout the whole repair.
