This place has amazing food and I can't say enough wonderful things about the owner and service here. It is very clean. A lot more than just burgers!!! I'll start by saying that I was a huge fan of Burgermeister and I was sad when it closed. But this place is good, like different kind of good. It's not a normal burger, it's a little upgraded. It's definitely not a traditional type of burger place. My boyfriend had the wagyu burger with fries and it was great. They have like a special take on ranch, it's herb filled and great for dipping. I had the shrimp po boy and wow, one of the greatest I've had. They have this other "spicy" sauce which I loved. We shared the buffalo wings, the buffalo sauce was perfect. Next time I want to get the fried chicken sandwich and pour the buffalo all over it. The only thing I can say that wasn't great was the wait time. It definitely took awhile but patience is a virtue even when you're starving. And it's definitely not cheap at all. I hope this place can work out, I'm looking forward to coming back! read more

Stopped in for happy hour bites and drinks at DC Loumge (which shares a kitchen with Project Burger) before a 7pm movie at Alameda cinema. The drinks were great and reasonably priced, the wings were awesome, as well as the fish tacos. The 'side salad' was HUGE and so delicious! Service was great too. I'd read the other reviews and had some pretty high expectations for the quality of the burger, so my disappointment may be my own fault. I had a turkey burger and fries and the theme of the meal seemed to be "dry". Not only was my order incorrect but it take a great deal of energy to not feel nauseous after eating. I was not at all satisfied with my purchase. I'm giving my experience 2 stars purely on the basis of how quickly the food was compared (especially considering there appeared to be only one employee working) and how kind the staff person that helped me was. Perhaps there is a different experience to be had when dining in, but my take out experience was lackluster at best. read more

My first time to eat here since it went from Burgermister to Project Burger and I'm NOT impressed!! The three stars are for Management and wait persons... wonderful personalities. Helpful. Accommodating. Now, if only the food was Burgermister quality. Let's break our order down... Cheeseburgers: Came with a "head" of lettuce on it. The sauce was runny, soaking the bread, making the burger fall apart. The taste got old fast, very mediocre considering two different styles of burger, for two different people. The fries were done inside, nice, but mushy on the outside with a weird flavor, that was not good. Chocolate Milk Shake was watery and had a chalky after taste. The choice of sodas were streamed by Alameda Point soda company... horrible tasting. HOW can you make Lemonaide or Cola flavors bad ? they can, Yuck!! Even the Black Cherry, which I love, had an awful flavor. Management flushed out the lines and brought me a new drink of Lemon-Lime, did help a little, very little. This is NOT my favorite brand and don't know how, or why, people even support this bad taste. read more

I was craving a grass fed burger so decided to drive from Dublin to Alameda. Wow was it worth it! I walked in and was warmly greeted by the owner of this establishment. He was friendly and had great energy! I ordered the regular burger wrapped in lettuce and sweet potato fries. The burger was cooked to perfection and extremely flavorful! Well we were excited to try a new restaurant near the theatre. They have a new system which is fine but a bit confusing, maybe a little help to explain how things work now. Next is an age thing, I admit but the menu both the one you hold and the one on the wall are too small to read. Another confusing thing is the bar- is it part of the restaurant or not? Do you have to order separately? But all of that can be improved with time and training. What can not be improved is the food. Fish and chips for $15.00 ok if the fish is fresh. The fish was frozen store bought crap and then OVER cooked beyond recognition. We never had anyone ask how our meal was. We saw the manger/owner talking to friends and taking care of his dog but not trying to see how the new place was doing, oh well we'll see how this place does but it will be without any more of my money. read more

Came here with my family of 6 and everyone tried a different burger: California, kafta, mama's mix, crispy chicken, vegetarian, and turkey. Everyone was happy with their orders -- tasted great. Solid burgers for reasonable prices. It took a bit of time for our plates to arrive but we understood because we clearly saw the cooks making each burger patty fresh and grilling them. 2 points of feedback. The service from the wait staff is a bit slow. We were sitting there a while before they realized we had been waiting for the check (there was only one other table so it wasn't busy). And secondly, I don't think they dried their lettuce after washing, which made for quite a messy drippy experience. read more

I came here to get a burger from this restaurant, and I didn't like the food here because I asked for no cheese, and I also, didn't understand why it was so unreliable, and messy. The server Sabrina who said she had just started, helped me out. This is a new version of Burgermeister, and it isn't too good. If you want a half assed meal, I would come here. I was excited to try this place. Made my order online for pick-up. I didn't realise that gluten free meant a piece of lettuce wrapped around the burger. I live about 5 minutes away. By the time I got home, the lettuce was wilted around the burger. As if that wasn't off putting already, they mixed up the order. I had a second burger. I asked for grilled onions on the GF burger. They put it on the other AND gave regular onions. I believe they also mixed up the toppings all together. And, while, the meat was flavorful, it just didn't seem like it was the best/freshest meat. Lastly, soggy fries are just gross. Won't be returning, despite the friendly service, which is what gave the extra star. Two stars in the hopes this is a fluke due to the pandemic. First time for my husband and I and wanted to support the small businesses in Alameda. We rated the food to be bearing passable, so we are being reasonable to give two stars for effort.The burger was suppose to be medium, but was well done, dry, no seasoning and not much char favor- fries were so bad because they were soggy when we got home (7 minutes to get home); in a waxy container that caused so much condensation , which made the fries soggy! Yummy, fresh food. Comprable prices, very friendly owner/ head chef. I love that the chef greeted us, made us our drinks and food. The fish tacos were awesome. So full of fresh fish, it was delicious. Hand cut fries were awesome. You can really taste the difference with fresh vs. frozen food. The owner/ chef was so cool, he is the reason we will go back. Customer service, care and concern is lost so often, but he made us feel like pampered customers. Cool beans. Went to La Penca Azul but decided against it because of the long lines for take out. Didn't want to wait with a crowd especially wanted to keep our social distancing. Also thought it would be better to spread the wealth. Then came across Project burger and so glad we stopped in here instead. The Waygu burger with fries was so yummy! We were going to try this place on Saturday night before the movie but saw the bad reviews and decided to skip it. Still, I like to give a new place a chance so we came in 8:30 on Sunday night and sat in the bar. We learned a few things: 1. They had pared down the menu to basic burgers and sandwiches until they get the kitchen worked out 2. It's not a pop-up. They're actually permanent, the owner just wanted to be trendy and misunderstood what pop up means. 3. The food was actually quite good. We ordered a black and blue burger which has a middle eastern spice rub and yogurt-based house sauce, plus blue cheese of course. We asked for a side salad instead of fries which wasn't on the menu but they hooked us up. The burger arrived cooked medium on a toasted whole grain bun piled with fresh green leaf lettuce and beefsteak tomatoes with a generous pile of fresh field greens dressed with something like blue cheese dressing but lighter. Drinks were cheap (happy hour prices all day Sunday) and the music was cool so all-in-all I like it way better than Burgermeister. read more

OK, so we just came here to try it out since is brand new.. And I couldn't be happier. The burgers were super good!! They even have a veggie burger. The onion rings were made right when we ordered them and you can tell they made them there! The sodas were all house sodas and I thought that was amazing! The staff was friendly and they even made a great recommendation, the fish tacos, my boyfriend tried them and he really enjoyed them. Project F. The manager/cook is irresponsible and indignant and the food is not good enough for my dog. The only person running the front of house is an underage kid who is really trying his best, but on his first day with no training he was not set up for success. The manager told me the reason that my food came out after a table who sat 30 minutes after me is because "I wanted my turkey burger well done" yea buddy I didn't think salmonella was on the menu, but this clearly untrained cook/manager implied "rare" was an option. This is a heads up if you're trying to catch a movie next door, the food here takes a very long time. I ordered my food which was just a Veggie burger for me and a cheeseburger for my son, at 5:40pm and the restaurant was not packed at all. We didn't get our food until about 6:30pm when I had to go up and tell them to put a rush on it. She offered to box it up for me but the theatre next door serves food so they won't let you bring outside food in. Plus I didn't want to bring outside food in I just wanted to eat the food in the restaurant. We sat on the other side of the restaurant closer to the bar which was separated by the wall and we didn't really have a server. I had to go up to the counter and order. Without a server, we never got checked on to ask us how everything was. We had to get our own drinks. I saw the people at the tables next to me also waiting a long time. The veggie burger came and it crumbled apart I had to use several napkins to hold it together. No onion rings. Some of the fries were cold and some were really hot so the temperature was off. And we were not brought any utensils, I had to grab napkins myself off the bar. I'm so disappointed in this place which replaced Burgermeister, which I really liked. You guys have to step it up. Alameda locals will support you but not if you bring this kind of lackluster service and poor food. Plus if you make people late for their movie we'll never come back. If you're trying to say you're better than the place that came before you, you have to do much better than this. I'm sorry I really wanted to like you guys. read more
