North Pacific came out and bid the replacement of the unit. They charged me $6k for the work which was higher than others but they seemed legitimate. The mini split they installed is woefully insufficient to cool the space. They have not responded to my repeated requests for a solution. Would not recommend.

Billy Buckhannon came out 3 times last Winter to work on my furnace - the last time in March 2022…read more I only use my furnace when it's very cold as I have a gas fireplace. I turned on my furnace this year and it didn't work - again. So I called another company to look at my furnace this time. I was told that the ignitor put in last March was the wrong voltage - that it was an 80V instead of 120V. After doing some research I discovered that the 120V was the correct voltage because the furnace's board was replaced (by Billy) in December; otherwise the 80V would have been correct. Seemed like an honest mistake, so I called Billy to ask him to install the correct part. Instead of apologizing for installing the wrong part, he took no responsibility for the error. He said it was an honest mistake that he was given the wrong part. I agreed, but explained that I shouldn't have to pay for the same service again because he installed the wrong part and that he should make it right. By this time, he was SHOUTING at me over the phone that it wasn't his fault and that it was over the 30 day labor warranty. He was yelling at me and acting as though I was being unreasonable by asking him to install the correct part. He finally yelled that if it would "appease" me, I could send him the bill for the labor for the repairs and he would reimburse me for the labor. That I could send the wrong part that he installed back to the parts company as it was under warranty. By this time I told him I didn't like how he was speaking to me and hung up. It is inconceivable to me that an HVAC professional would install the wrong part and then become angry when asked to correct his mistake. I would recommend that you use another company if you need HVAC work and ensure that they stand by their work. People make mistakes, we all do, but how you react in those instances is a matter of character. Billy reacted poorly.

" aaaaand he interrupted and went on a rant telling me that yes I was overly-skeptical (he might be right) and how long he's been doing this and how he knows what's going on with my unit because of his experienced, he raved about how great their reviews are on their website, how they help people when nobody else does, how they help little old ladies and poor people who can't afford service, how they stay open when other companies are closed and don't wanna help." -- In so many words, "they're the good guys!" I offered to share with him why his lead-in had sent up red flags and he continued to tell me why they were the good guys and I was irrational. When he finally finished letting me know that my perception was invalid... I shared with him that consumers are on-guard with repair people because we don't have ongoing relationships and we've all heard of or experienced horror stories ... he dismissed my concerns and told me I was an exception (less than1% of calls ) everyone else just trusts them. This didn't increase my level of trust and I said we'll just go our separate ways. I was definitely the calm one on the phone, though he never got rude (other than talking over me and repeating loudly how great their company was and how unbelievable it was for me to have any doubt at all because read my reviews)... he let me know several times that their company stays busy with all of their other customers! I then read a few more reviews and found others had similar negative experiences on the phone and several had the type of service visit I felt I was being set-up to experience. Happy for you if you had a better experience with them... I couldn't get past the arrogance and dismissiveness of the sales guy priming me for the big ticket.

Once I chose them, they were quick to schedule based on my availability. Scott, Rob, and Mike came prepared with facemasks and gloves to respect my space. The work went smoothly and quickly. The line-set they ran along the garage wall was tucked nicely, as to be not very noticable. Rob even fixed the common wire in my system to allow 5 wires to my nest thermostat. They then "condemned" and shut it down based on a CO reading of 1 ppm. After they presented me with an incredibly expensive estimate and applied rushed sales pressure, Fredy came, said the furnace was fine and that the CO reading was not dangerous; furthermore, he didn't even charge me for his visit. When a third company completely confirmed Fredy's opinion and found no CO, I can highly recommend Fredy for his obvious knowledge and honesty! Martha
