I was charged nearly $2,000 in labor for only an hour and fifteen minutes of work, in addition to the $279 emergency service and diagnostic fee. At no point was I given a clear breakdown of costs, and I was led to believe that most of the expense was for an expensive part -- which I later discovered costs under $500. I was misled and taken advantage of. I understand that emergency services come at a premium, but this pricing feels excessive and predatory. I asked Proline if they were qualified to fix our proprietary NuWater Septic System that was alarming. They said yes and sent a plumber out who said they had never worked on this type of system. Darren was a good plumber, but he did not have the knowledge or expertise to address our proprietary system. He ended up replacing two $500 floats that were not defective. With the alarm still not fixed he said I needed to call an electrician. The problem was lack of training on the control panel. The problem was fixed the next day for no charge over the phone. Our bill for not fixing the system was $1,160. Again, the plumber was honest and meant well. Sending him to work on a system that he was trained to trouble shoot was the root of the our issue. This situation could have been easily avoided with a simple "we recommend you contact a certified NuWater provider". Honesty is the best policy. read more

Tyrone came to install a new toilet our old one was like 50 years old and had crappy tank innards, and was leaking and a whole mess. ANYway ... Tyrone went above and beyond. -- He installed the new toilet super fast (prob would have taken me all day, or multiple days) -- He was super friendly and nice to talk to -- He CLEANED UNDER THE TOILET, and showed me BEFORE AND AFTER PICS! (I would bet most people don't clean under toilets!) -- He made sure to reinstall our aftermarket Bidet attachment and also warn us about a slight gap in the seat fitment due to the attachment. So thoughtful!! -- To top it off, he covered up some water rust stains on our white beadboard wall that I couldn't clean even with Bleach or Scrubbing Bubbles. 7/3/23 Update - STILL Feeling Pretty Ignorant for Using Proline Plumbing and counting on previous (Google) reviews. Summary - $800 for a tub drain and less than an hour's worth of work is, quite honestly, a ripoff. The (supposed) professional plumber overlooked a very obviously incorrectly installed tub drain, then after already charging me $800, wanted another $1,700 to fix something that took me about 15 minutes and $4 to fix after they left. Take a look at the bill. That was for well less than an hour's worth of work, and a tub spout. The invoice is in the photos. But whatever, lesson learned. The best I can hope for is to educate people about Proline, and how outrageous and predatory their quotations and charges are. There are many, many great companies that charge reasonable prices for reasonable plumbing services in the Camas Washougal area. Proline is NOT one of them in my experience. I call them to my home to fix a leak in my tub. I had had issues with the drain, but I wasn't sure where the leak was coming from. So, I made an appointment with the very nice scheduler and agreed to the initial fee of $69 plus $75. The guy shows up on time, nice enough. He spends about 5 minutes with me checking for leaks and then finally concludes that it must have been the tub spout. So he goes back out to his van for at least 15 minutes, and it comes back with a "quotation" for an additional $579 bucks. That was to assemble and then put the one screw into the shower control that I had taken apart and then to put in a new tub spout, which literally had one set screw, and then put a bead of silicone on it. I seriously couldn't believe it. But I was already into it for the initial fee and the diagnostics fee, which again took less than 10 minutes, but I really wanted to get this knocked out because I had to get the sheet rock-back up... I just wanted this to be done. Insurance wasn't covering this, and this was on me. But I figured he knew what he was talking about, and I trusted him. He literally took less than 30 minutes getting everything ready, and he yells up the stairs and tells me that he's found "another problem." He'd been running the water, looked behind the wall where we had originally checked, and there was a tiny puddle of water. Sure enough, a leak. And coming from, guess what, the drain, which is what I had originally thought, was leaking. This is, of course, after I'm already into this for 800 bucks. So I asked him what it was going to take to take care of it, and he said that he needed to "check with the office." This came as a surprise, as we could both see that when I had put the drain plug on, stupidly, I had put the gasket between the drain and the top of the tub, instead of the bottom of the tub in the pipe. Dumb, impatient move by me. But it should have been clearly obvious to any professional plumber. So he disappears to his van again and is gone at least 10 more minutes. He comes back and tells me it's going to be nearly $1,800 (more!) for him to fix the leak. That is on top of what I've already given him. I was literally speechless, and after about 1 second, I told him I was done. $1800 would be enough money for me to go to plumbing training and do the repair myself 10 times. Thanks, but no. And off he went. No follow-up, no quote, no advice. Just gone. Feeling frustrated and ripped off, back I go to the very drain that I had screwed up to begin with. I pulled it apart, put the gasket where it should have been, which was between the bottom of the tub and the pipe, got an actual tub drain wrench, tightened it up, put the silicone around the edge, and behold. It does not leak. Fixed. Done. I have no idea what the hell would have cost $1,800. This was not a good value, I'm not happy with this company at all. They didn't fix the problem, and they charged me a small fortune. Basically, the guy spent about 35 minutes working, and up to 30 minutes in the van getting quotes, and left me with a tub that's still leaked. Lesson learned, I made a dumb dumb mistake. But for those of you who think you can't do something that looks complicated, be patient, go to YouTube, you can probably figure it out for a 20th of what some companies will charge you these days. I wish I had a better word for it, but they really seemed predatory. I really don't know what it is. Maybe after COVID, companies think they can just charge whatever they want. Avoid. This. Company. I hired Proline Plumbing to fix a backed-up basement drain. They charged me $1330 for 45 minutes of work, which seemed steep, but I trusted they resolved the issue. It's worth saying this was considered "after hours" - I believe they charged $200 to drive to my place in inner SE, and $230 to "evaluate the issue", and $900 to "run a snake 15 feet". Unfortunately, I wasn't home at the time to verify, and when I returned the next day, the drain remains clogged. Plumber was kind and explained what he was doing when we spoke on the phone. AOSmith heat pump electric water heater installed by Northwest Installers in April, it failed after 5 months. Proline sent out Adam who worked with AOSmith to determine the issue. AOSmith sent a part and 2 days later Proline sent out Dustin who replaced the part and verified it was working. I highly recommend Proline for all your water heater needs. I don't recommend any manufacturers heat pump water heaters!!!! get a regular water heater instead! read more

No one in the world could have imagined this....... Walked into the garage and was greeted with several feet of water. Called pro line plumber and sewer on July 2 , July 5. They were out and had it fixed within a few hours This wonderful company did the very best to get our plumbing problem fixed as quickly as possible. Had called several other companies, but they couldn't get to it for weeks. Which meant no water for weeks. The technicians that came out were not only quick, but very communicative of what they were doing what they had to do, and when they finished, they walked me through the things that they had done and let me know to leave the crawl space open to let the underneath of the house dry out. Proline provided and installed one of their A.O. Smith propane hot water heaters in our home 5 years ago at a cost of over $2,000. and as two elderly seniors we thought that it would last us the rest of our days. A week ago we woke to no hot water, called Proline and they sent a tech out who found the that the gas valve and pilot sensor had failed. The parts were still under warranty, but it would cost $70. for the service call, and $150. for them to call the manufacturer just to get approval to order the replacement parts that were under warranty. In addition, they were going to charge us a additional $432. to return and install the warrantied parts. The parts arrived over a week later and the total after senior discount was $632. and the tech left dirt and the old parts and pieces laying on the floor when he finished! I am a retired regional Senior Facilities Director with oversight of all maintenance and repairs of homes and commercial buildings for the entire N.W. and I have never experienced this kind of mismanagement, equipment failure, poor customer service or price gouging. In conclusion, I would never recommend Proline Plumbing or their products A.O. Smith. read more

***I read the one star reviews and decided to give this company a shot anyway. *** Our utility company informed us we had a potential water leak, we scoured the house and found no sign of water, so we determined it was likely in the main line. We googled "leak detection" to see if a professional could help us locate where exactly the leak was. We found Proline. Scheduling was easy and a tech came out to look at our problem the next day, however they charged us almost $150 for "leak detection" services where the tech checked the crawl space (which we had already done and were unable to identify a leak) and asked if the toilets were running. Based on this one question and his brief tour of the crawl space, the tech determined that it must be the main line (he did not personally check any other parts of the house nor did he even walk around the parameter of the house, to the best of my knowledge). Having determined that "yes, you've got a leak" - which we already knew per our utility company - the technician, hired to detect the leak, was unable to identify where in the line the leak was. Unhappy with our interaction , we contacted a second, local company who came out an hour or so later. They were able to find the leak quickly, after identifying a pipe in the crawl space that was making noise and checking the ground right outside the house where said pipe was, they found a sink hole- see video. A significant, obvious leak. They pinpointed the leak and they did this for free. We are first time homeowners and learning every day, but I'm disappointed that the proline tech didn't pinpoint the problem when that's what we were PAYING him to do and a local company came in and did a better job for free. I called proline to let them know I was unhappy with the outcome and they were nice about it, but they did not offer any sort of remediation. Learn from my mistakes - heed 1 star reviews, save your money, and steer clear of Proline. read more

Called Proline looking for someone to detect an underground water main leak. She said that they had someone with detection equipment who could find my leak and made me an appointment. 6 days later, a Proline service person showed up with no equipment or intention to find the leak. He just gave me an estimate for their leak detection person to come out and charged me $130 for his service call. I called Proline and requested a refund because I did not get the leak detection service I requested. The lady said she would listen to the phone call, talk to someone who could authorize a refund and call me back. Never heard anything back. They obviously don't intend to make any corrections. read more

I sold my house on 11/05/2023 with a 30 day escrow. The buyer took 2 1/2 weeks to get the inspection done and their inspector said I had a bathtub valve leaking into the crawl space. I called American Home Shield and found out that my home warranty policy covered it. They sent NW Sundance Plumbing to fix it. After their plumber went down into the crawl space and looked around, he found the main drain from the bathtub was actually leaking. He said that they could fix it, but it was a two man job and couldn't come back until 12/04/2023. AND THEY DO NOT CHARGE ANY EXTRA TO GO DOWN INTO THE CRAWL SPACE. That was one day before we were supposed to close escrow. I spoke with my real estate broker and we both decided that it should be done sooner, so I call American Home Shield back and they agreed to transfer the job and referred Proline Plumbing. Rather than wait for them to call me, I called Proline Plumbing and explained my situation to them. I told them that I had a main drain from the bathtub that was leaking in the crawl space. I told them the previous plumber had gone down into the crawl space and even took pictures that he gave me copies of. I explained to them that I need this repaired as soon as possible. They said no problem and sent two of their plumbers the next day. Their plumbers showed up the next day and explained to me that if I needed them to go down into the crawl space, there is a $150.00 charge plus sales tax. I told the two plumbers the same thing I told the customer service person on the phone. I have a leak in the crawl space from the bath tub. I even have pictures. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON DID NOT INFORM ME OF THE $150.00 CHARGE PLUS SALES TAX TO HAVE THEIR PLUMBER GO DOWN INTO THE CRAWL SPACE. Since I had less than a week to close escrow and had to make sure the leak was fixed, I paid them. They went into the crawl space and did see and confirm the leak. After they left I called their customer service department again and explained to them that I shouldn't have to pay the $150.00 CHARGE PLUS SALES TAX TO HAVE THEIR PLUMBER GO DOWN INTO THE CRAWL SPACE, because I told you on my first call where the leak was and you NEVER told me about the charge to go down into the crawl space. They said that they had to investigate where the leak was. I again told them I knew where the leak was and even have pictures and they said too bad so sad, that is how we do business. I asked to speak to a supervisor who told me the same thing. I asked the supervisor if I could speak to her boss and she said the buck stops here. I called NW Sundance Plumbing back to see if they could still come out and fix the leak and they said yes. I called American Home Shield back and had them transfer the work order back to NW Sundance Plumbing and the leak was fixed and didn't cost me any more since I had already paid my deductible. So the moral of the story is, BUYER BEWARE IF YOU DECIDE TO DO BUSINESS WITH PROLINE PLUMBING. read more

What a phenomenal experience during one of the most stressful situations. Chris is an absolute rockstar.... He was fast, so courteous, explained everything, showed me every step of the way what he was doing and why, and was so patient and full of grace. We woke up this morning to a flooded house with water pouring into the kitchen from the ceiling, and as I'm sure any parent can relate... when you have an almost 2 year old and you're almost 8 pregnant... it's chaos and such a horrible feeling to see disaster strike. Chris showed up so fast, and worked through all the situations and helped to diagnose that the leak was from Lowe's installing our washing machine incorrectly. Chris allowed me to take pictures and videos, and explained everything to me so I could help when the water restoration company shows up and also when Lowe's comes to disconnect the washer and replace it.
