    Bad customer service employee
    Rodrigo A.

Date of visit: Monday, November 24, 2025 - around 6:40 PM Location: Pronto Cafe - Citadel Outlets I am writing this review to highlight a deeply disappointing customer service experience I had during my visit today. I arrived at Pronto Cafe around 6:40 PM to purchase two milkshakes. Everything was fine until after I paid. After completing my order, I politely asked the young employee who assisted me--a medium-height Latino male wearing glasses--for two straws. He told me they had run out. I then asked why he didn't inform me before preparing and charging me for milkshakes that obviously require straws. Instead of offering a solution or an apology, he responded rudely and said, "If you want, I can just give you your money back." As he turned around, I clearly heard him tell one of his coworkers, "Where does he want me to get straws from, from my a?"** This was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I told him I heard the comment and that it was unnecessary, but he simply replied that if I didn't like it, I could write a complaint. This behavior is unacceptable, especially in a business that depends on customer service. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses the employee's attitude. No customer should be treated with disrespect or sarcasm for simply asking for something as basic as a straw. I genuinely enjoy visiting the Citadel Outlets, but this experience left a very negative impression of this location. I hope the company takes immediate action to ensure better training and professionalism from their staff.

If you're looking for a real-life reenactment of Alanis Morissette's "Ironic" -- but with less melody and more disappointment -- this is your spot. Ordered a chicken club. Got... something else entirely. Ordered a hot mocha they forgot it completely when I asked for it they proudly handed me an iced one. Since this had already take 20 minutes, I decided I valued my freedom more than food. If "pronto" is in the name, maybe it's an inside joke? 0/10, and that's being generous.

Nice flavor on the coffee and good customer service. Small shop with a good variety of drinks, pastries and ice cream. Clean

Ordered a few al pastor tacos and an asada burrito. Decent spot to get some food while shopping at this huge outlet. The tacos were pretty packed but also quite greasy, much of the grease leaked through the paper trays and several napkins underneath. The burrito was filling, lots of bean and cheese inside and an ok amount of asada. The food truck is parked near the Gap store and has a steady amount of foot traffic lining up for a bite. Service was friendly and they were all nice to interact with. Hard to describe the ambiance because it was right out in the open but fortunate there is shade and standing tables to eat next to. On cold windy days, this is not a good spot. Good for warm days.

This review is strictly for the mango ice cream and nothing else. We were "back to school shopping" for my youngest and while using the restroom I was waiting at some benches and this place was right by the restroom and right in front of the benches. The weather was pretty hot over 80° that day, but still better than over 100° in Bakersfield... we were hot from walking around and shopping so after we used the restrooms, I asked my son if he wanted ice cream. The line was a little long, but he came back w 2 cones of mango ice cream here. Mango is actually one of my favorite ice cream flavors, so I was excited to try it. When I took the first lick, I was super impressed. The flavor is light and not overly sweet and the texture was soft and fluffy. I was kind of surprised how good this ice cream was. I'm not from the area, but if you're around or if you're a local and have never tried their mango ice cream then you're missing out. They have another location near the parking and my son said it's the same place so I'm sure they have the same flavors. The ice cream was so good, that I would definitely get it again if I was shopping here. I know they have other items like sandwiches and drinks, but I didn't get a chance to try their other things.

    Strawberry cheesecake was really good.

Yummynessin a cone. Surprising for the cost of the ice-cream in cones, serving size was good and not little. Will come cack again

Worst ice cream! They just put colors in their ice cream. I ordered pistachio and strawberry and the ice cream does not even taste pistachio or strawberry. It was all color and taste very bad. When I complained Stephanie ( not even sure if she told her real name) said no this is pistachio and we don't add any colors. Health department should get involve cause they are just giving fake ice creams to people and get money. I wish I could give zero star. Zero customer service and very rude workers.

We all need something sweet In our lives. So I took a quick break and got myself a hot chocolate and some macaroons! It was an awesome choice. They have a wide, delicious selection. From ice cream to bakes goods. I wish I could try it all. The staff was sweet and quick on their feet. As far as covid safety. They seem to be going pretty well -They only allow 2 guests in the store at one time, considering its a small store. Better safe than sorry. This is a great pit stop if you're shopping around!

It was really good ice cream. I enjoyed it. My little daughter loved it though. Will definitely go back

The sambal chili aioli was a sleeper - it packed in a ton of unexpected spice. Deliciously unexpected. The thick toasted brioche bun also added a layer of sweetness. We ordered the turkey BLT because it was a special. It was, of course, delish, but I should have kept to the tried and trues. I'll definitely be back. Also PSA and order your sandwiches for pickup. We waited for quite a bit in the heat even though we visited at an off hour (on a Sunday). Also, there's a nearby park closer to Uptown you can enjoy your sandwiches.

Keep in mind I ordered around 12:50pm and the sandwich was ready at 1:45pm. I ordered the Spicy Gabagool Sandwich, and there were barely any mixed greens as compared to other reviews & the menu photo (I love my veggies)! The meats were yummy, but they did not stand out to me/didn't taste anything special. Unfortunately, the same goes for the bread. However, I did like the packaging of the sandwich and everything in the sandwich tasted well together; the chile spread, burrata, hot honey, pickled onions, meats.. the spice level is definitely tolerable; I didn't need water at all. It was more of a small kick. I also tried their lemon crumb bar and it was very delicious! If anything I would come again to try more of their unique baked goods. Overall, I enjoyed the ambiance of the shop. It is quite small and there are many people waiting for their order inside. There is only outdoor seating, which is scarce.

Anywaaaay - I tried the trio tostadas, a tamal and a Mayan iced latte. The tostadas were great. They were very fresh. They're very simple. One is black bean, one is avacado and one is chicken salad. My favorite was the chicken salad. I used their green salsa and it was delicious. The tamales was good. Today I learned I don't really like the flavor of banana leaf that gets absorbed into the tamal. Also, it was primarily made of rice. It had a piece of bell pepper, a little chicken and I think a plum. Aside from the banana leaf I liked the tamale. The latte was delicious. Nice coffee flavor and sweetened perfectly. Definite recommend and I will for sure be back.

I got the agave matcha latte for myself, and I enjoyed how rich it tasted and how vibrant it was in color. I also added a cold foam which made it too sweet for me. Next time, I plan on ordering an unsweetened matcha latte and add cold foam as the sweetener. I also tried a sip of the lavender matcha and that was the one thing I didn't like because the lavender overpowered the matcha. This all came out to $31, which i thought was a little steep, but you really could tell that you were paying for better ingredients. The croissant was extremely flaky and buttery, and you really could taste the difference in the butter quality. The pain chocolate was just as good, with a delicious chocolate filling. The eclairs costed $7, which I thought was pretty steep, but they are quite large; the coffee was good, but the chocolate one was definitely the highlight.
