    Fiesta Platter
    Steve A.

We were in port for the day and it was too far to go to our favorite Mexican restaurant in LA (El Cholo) so we went to Maria's and we were not disappointed. The fiesta platter was a great start, but the real standout was the cheese enchilada's. The rich, slightly bitter sauce was absolutely perfect. This is the way enchiladas have been service in Southern California since the 1920s, and it's wonderful to see the tradition carried on here. Service was so very nice and friendly. We'll definitely return if we are in the area.

Hola everyone I am from Sacramento but born and raised in San Pedro. My daughter grandkids son-in-law and I came down to visit Corney my family. He brought us here to this amazing restaurant it's a hidden Gem! Although it's a bit small it's perfect for a small gathering. I like to thank Martha our waitress she was very professional very kind and great public relations. If you all are hungry and want some authentic excellent food then come on down to Maria's on Western avenue. The plates are big and once again the food is amazing

I GUARANTEE YOU THAT THIS PLACE WILL MAKE YOUR SOUL CLEANSED To the point: - Taste: AMAZING - Portion: A LOT - Vibe and Service: AWESOME - Price: VERY GOOD - Recommended: YES - Returning: YEEESSSSS 1. Vibes and Services Okay, first of all, we live like walking 2 minute distance from this place. We always passed by and never visited here for some reason. AND WE GOT SO ANGRY THAT WE DIDNT UNTIL NOW. At first when you walk in, this place was already packed, maybe first round dinner rush getting done. Staffs will greet you with delicious chips, salsa, and my favorite homemade guac. Warning: they will refill your chips and salsa without asking. While they are incredibly good, don't eat too much!! 2. Food So my wife is a homecooked meal person. She wouldn't compliment restaurant meal because she can cook better (and she can actually). She ordered Caldo de Rez, I ordered Carnitas, and my son had chicken soft tacos. At first sip of the soup, she went "WOW" and told a staff "THIS IS REALLY GOOD." She kept complimenting all the food we ordered every single bite. Caldo de Rez was clean, deep, and flavorful. We were very surprised how there was almost zero oil and yet meat was soft. Carnitas was on point too. Whatever they put in to bring the classic carintas meat taste was simply amazing. Chicken taco was smooth, comfortable, and basically AMAZING. 3. Price After all 3 food, we had left over. After tax and tips, it was $50!!! Can't complaint whatsoever. 4. Comment Im just grateful for this spot. We are going to return here to eat other menus. Maybe tortas and menudo? SIMPLY AMAZING!!!

Great for quick bite to eat. This is located in a strip mall on Western Ave.near West Toscanini Drive. Chips and Salsa was placed immediately. The salsa is GOOD! Tasty Mexican food. Nothing fancy. Full service from the hard working Martha. She greeted us with a smile and brought us to our table immediately during lunch. The place filled up quickly. It seems to be a popular place among the locals. My friend and I both ordered the #23, One Chile Relleno with rice and beans. It hit the spot. Afterwards my friend and I shared the flan. It is a big portion and big enough to share! Ambience is not that great. It is a long narrow restaurant with murals to brighten the windowless place. They did the best with the narrow space. The only natural light source is from the front door. However, the place was quiet which was nice, even with all the tables filled. Martha bussed the tables, took our order, delivered our food and answered the phone for Take Out orders. She was busy, but she always had a smile! Thank you Martha! I will return here just because of Martha! Oh, yes, the food too!

The food was amazing!!!! Met up with some friends after a quick pedicure and my god the chips and salsa, the micheladas, the ceviche, the steak picado wet burrito! Everything was so good!!! I'll definitely come back! The server took care of us, we always were getting refilled with chips and salsa and water without asking. Very attentive you can tell this restaurant takes pride in providing exceptional service to there customers. Also the music and ambiance was very nice. Thank you Maria's!!

Small restaurant with a family vibe - food was excellent, service was even better! Portions are huge, so be prepared to share or take leftovers home.

It's a nice quaint little place. The staff is always friendly and talkative. They don't just want your business, they connect with you too. Which I like. The food is always made fresh and isn't too long of a wait. Their salsa is fresh, chunky and a little spicy but not too bad. Their chips are thin and crunchy and not oily at all which is a plus. Most Mexican spots have thick and oily chips which heavily dislike, but not this place. Overall delicious! Definitely stop here for your lunch craving.

Chips and ice tea while waiting for meal.
    Mark B.

Good food and good service - a bit pricey. Ice tea is almost $8 for two glasses - they are pretty big glasses though, lol. The more reasonable combination plates are toward the back of the menu in the #20 range. It's hard to find parking around lunch time, but looks a lot easier after12:45 pm The bulk of the seating is in a narrow side area that makes a party of four+ a bit tough to be together.

I've been here before, and the birria tacos were exactly what I needed for a late-night craving. Crispy on the outside with a good amount of filling and strong flavor - they really hit the spot. I ended up having four of them. The consomé on the side was really good too - rich and flavorful, almost something I could've just had on its own. The street tacos were solid. The carnitas had that tender, slightly crisp texture, and the al pastor added a bit more seasoning and contrast. Nothing overcomplicated, just straightforward and satisfying. Service was friendly, and the setup is quick and casual. In the South Bay where places tend to close early, it was nice that they were open until around 10pm.
