Absolutely atrocious service on New Year's Eve even though the space had barley 30 people. We had a tiki hut reservation which was only for one hour, from 9 to 10pm. We got seated at 9.10, ordered drinks at 9.20 and drinks arrived 9.40. We were lucky that the 10pm party never showed up and ended up having another round of drinks. Besides that, the place is fantastic, loved the ambiance and music and the drinks were solid!

I ll say this nicely, you're more likely to see more zombies outside! IFYKYK. But otherwise, the vibes of this tiki bar are incredible! Plenty of space, great theme, and outstanding drinks. The drinks are STRONG, I feel like I'm not using enough emphasis on the word "STRONG"! So tread lightly when ordering..Otherwise, great service and good vibes. It's a cool place to show visitors from out of town, etc. But probably a good idea to call an Uber when visiting.

Disco Banana -- not as creamy and sweet as described. Has blended banana in it but the rum overpowers it. But I got another drink called jbmp. It was a delicious and smooth clarified drink! The vibes inside were so cool! It was decorated so well with the starry lights at the top and the little aquariums in each hut. So tropical! I loved the ambiance and the lively spirit of the bartenders. They were super friendly and helpful.

Heck yeah this place was great! The bar is in the heart of the tenderloin and is through a nondescript black door. A group of ten of us went for a bday party, and they sat us in a back "hut", which was perfect for privacy and chatting. The decor is top notch with straw and murals and lights and water features. We ordered one of the drinks they set on fire to share; it is a MUST. The pina coladas are excellent as well. The only food they have is chips, which helped satiate munchies from all the fun. Our waiter was entertaining and responsive. This was a wonderful evening out!

Zombie Village serves tiki drinks and you should expect some strong alcoholic ones. Although it was a Friday night, around 8-9PM, we had no trouble walking in and finding a spot to sit and drink. Reservations available online for the booths. I ordered the Coco Pandan which comes with a popsicle. None of us could really tell what the flavor was but letting it melt into the drink turned it into something like a smoothie! It's extremely strong, probably the strongest one I tried here. It also doesn't help that it gets thicker so the alcohol taste kind of lingers in your mouth longer. Despite the strong drinks, the vibes are relaxing. There was chill, tropical music playing in the background but quiet enough where we could still hear each other. It's very dim inside and the further back you go, the weaker your cell service. Fun place to get the night started!

Very cool tiki bar in the Tenderloin district with cute, private huts to sit in. Amazing vibe in here.

Great atmosphere, friendly bartenders. They have tiki huts that you can reserve in advance (we didn't take advantage but might in the future). I love the starry sky on the ceiling. The drink menu is limited to a dozen or so tiki cocktails, but they will make you other popular tiki cocktails like the chi chi. This was our second tiki bar of the night and our favorite in SF so far. It doesn't serve food; you come for the drinks and the vibes. I would highly recommend taking a Lyft/uber/taxi at night as the location is in the Tenderloin.

Came here on a Thursday night around 9:00 PM with friends and the place was almost empty. This is possibly one of the coolest decorated bars I've ever been to -- from the "starry sky" lights to the back walls that look like stone caves to the tiki hut bar and alcoves, I loved everything about this place. They have little alcoves with a table in them for groups to have a section all to yourselves, which I absolutely loved. The bartenders were helpful and funny, and when my friend spilled her drink that night, they cracked a few jokes with us and cleaned up the mess quickly. I got the Desert Oasis, and it was strong and not overly sweet! A generously sized drink, I loved the little umbrella and nopal that cane with it. All the drinks we ordered were beautifully decorated and delicious. We had such a good time here, I need to come more often. Definitely a cool bar to check out!

Came in on a Saturday during the holidays and it was chill, with great vibes and very nice staff. We were able to get a booth and enjoyed a Scorpion Bowl together! Also they had a picture of the Hinky Dink on the wall, IYKYK.

This used to be my go-to tiki bar in the city. The atmosphere is great, and the drink presentation is fun. The booths are super cozy and perfect for small groups. Sadly, my last visit missed the mark. The drinks were way too syrupy. All five of us noticed it, so it wasn't just me. I wish they'd focus more on the drinks themselves and less on presentation.

Super duper awesome tiki bar ‼ Bathrooms a walk from the bar, but clean. Hospitable friendly professional staff Delicious perfect cocktails Average price ($15-ish approx) Yes lots of (crushed) ice , so what? Interior decor is spot on Tiki Very dark , could b romantic & could b chill w/ besties. I will most definitely absolutely without a doubt recommend this place & I would love to return‼

We had received disappointing service at every place we went to UNTIL Zombie Village. Brian was BEYOND amazing, showing up just as our drinks got low and suggesting the BEST options. And the decor and ambiance of Zombie Village means we're already plotting when we can get our friends together to introduce them to it!

Place is everything you expect from a tiki bar. Area is not the best part of SF so walking from our hotel probably wasn't the best choice. We made a hut reservation and were seated a few minutes late as they had to kick someone out. We got served pretty quickly but took a while to get the next drink order in. Drinks were tasty but a lot of ice. I would go back but only if others insisted to go.

The Mai tai is not worth the trek into the depths of the tenderloin. Staff and vibe is very cool though.

It's my first visit and making a reservation... what are the seating options? Hut, Booth, Bar, Downstairs, Upstairs? While reserving a booth or hut sounds fun, I'd rather not be closed off from the atmosphere.

The reserved bar side looked like a fun spot to be for what you're wanting! The other seating arrangements tend to be much more private and intimate.

    Is there any food here?

No there isn't. This is a place to enjoy craft cocktails at their finest only. Good news is you're in SF where restaurants and easy eats are a plenty!

Do you have to be 21 to get in?

Aloha Rebekah! Yes, guests do need to be 21 years old to come to the bar, and will need to provide a photo id at the door.

    Do they have food?

    No, they don't.

    Hows the music?

Tiki ambiance music. A lot of Tikiyaki Orchestra.

Maggie did an incredible job mixing me one of the most delicious drinks I have had the pleasure of sipping, right down to the fresh garnishes they used to present a beautiful cocktail. The atmosphere at Pagan Idol mixes classic Tiki with an exquisite selection of rum you will spend half a decade trying to sort your way through. The combination of amazing seating options and classical island decor makes anyone want to sail away for long hours to escape the office. The long hours of code my team and I have been grinding through, building tools that may one day replace us, make a place like Pagan Idol irreplaceable. One more thing that in today's society is inestimable is the wonderful service I received from the people at Pagan Idol. They reminded me that human kindness and good drinks can be hard to come by in a city where ambition and highbrowed hubris have become the norm -- rather than what compliments incredible people. I'd heard the back bar opens after 7, but when I was there the doors magically parted at 5:30 so my hubs and I relocated to a private hut for a cozier final round. 2) Delicious drinks -- the menu offers a nice selection of tiki standards, new takes on old classics and some Pagan Idol originals. Each drink is built from fresh, house-made ingredients and all potent yet balanced on the palate. Many are rum-based but not all so there's some variety if rum isn't your thing. 3) Expert bartenders -- the fella who made my drinks knew his stuff and answered questions about the menu patiently without an ounce of attitude. When I decided I wanto venture off-menu for my second order, he whipped up a daiquiri variation that he intuited would fit my tastes based on preferences I shared (and nailed it). Will definitely come here for my next tiki fix.

I remember old tiki bars back in the day in the 50s when I first remembered hearing about him and the 60s when they were still popular. When you walk into the place, it's unlike anybody you're gonna walk into there are one dollar bill stuck to every square inch of the ceiling. Smoking is only allowed outside, so the room was pretty clear because as you walk in it is small, but there's plenty of room at the bar and there are a couple little hutches that you can sit in as well as an area around the corner, but the big surprise is outside.
