Prosecco 22 is a cute little Italian restaurant located in a tucked away shopping plaza off of 196th and Sheridan. It's the type of location that you could drive by everyday and not even know it existed. I visited on a Sunday evening when there were only 3 or 4 other tables dining. My experience on this evening was unfortunately a bit of a mixed bag. When you walk in, you feel as though you are in a small European eatery. The Italian decor is present but not overbearing. The tables are small, and located a little close to each other for my liking, but the restaurant as a whole is tiny, so that is to be expected. I ordered the Bruschetta as an appetizer. It was absolutely delicious. I could taste the freshness of the ingredients mixed with the light char on hand made french bread. My only complaint with this dish, is that french bread was too soft. There was no real crisp or toast to the bread, it simply folded under the weight of the ingredients... which led to a mess when you tried to eat it. Still very tasty despite the one critique. I ordered two entrees, the pesto gnocchi and Bucatini Carbonara: First, the Pesto Gnocchi. I have to stress again, that I could taste the freshness of the ingredients. The Gnocchi were prepared perfectly and literally melted in my mouth. The Pesto was creamy and packed with flavor. I would definitely order this dish again, however I would probably ask that they add a protein (shrimp or chicken) to the dish. That is purely a personal preference though. Secondly, the Bucatini Carbonara. I wanted so badly to like this dish. The chef utilized Bucatini pasta, a favorite of mine, while also using salty and savory guanciale as the star of the dish. Unfortunately, the dish lacked the creamy texture of a classic carbonara sauce that should have accompanied that amazing guanciale. Instead the sauce was watery and failed to coat and bind to the bucatini as I would expect with a truly excellent carbonara sauce. The dish was still tasty, but the execution was flawed in the end. My only real complaint with this establishment is the customer service. The restaurant was staffed with one waiter, and two help staff. That should be plenty to adequately take care of four tables. The waiter was very friendly as were the helpers, but the helpers were not attentive at all. I asked just to drink water as I wasn't in the mood for a glass of wine, and they poured a glass of room temperature water from a pitcher... into a small glass (the size of a highball) . I finished the water quickly and waited for refills, which did not come until I had to ask. My date's wine glass sat empty most of the meal, with no offer of a refill. Once we were done with the meal, we sat for 15 mins waiting for the check, with empty glasses. I finally had to ask for the check as which point they promptly checked me out. I want to reiterate that all the staff was very friendly. They just did not live up to the level of service I expect from a restaurant at that price point. Overall it is a quaint little restaurant worth trying in area of Broward county starved for excellent cuisine. A good experience, but it's the little details that make a good restaurant, an excellent one. I will return, but there is certainly room for improvement. read more

I'm not 100% sure about this place. Everyone seems to rave about it but I'm not sure if it's because out west we don't really have amazing Italian places and maybe it's a new hot spot. But I'm only speaking about the food. I have been here twice and the food didn't do it for me and I have not wanted to go back. I tried the pasta that is made in the large cheese and it was overly seasoned for me. I really wish they would tone it down in the seasoning because the cheese and cream alone with a little bit of salt is more than enough flavor for a delicious classic pasta. I was very underwhelmed! I later tried another dish that was a pesto pasta and it seemed to have too much oil. I was not the only person in my group that wasn't completely blown away by the food. I genuinely did enjoy their service and I could tell that that may be the main reason why this place is so busy and so successful. The service is great, ownership is friendly and the servers are completely on point. The restaurant is beautiful and new and very fun to hang out at, even though it's small. It's perfectly situated in a plaza out west where there's not much else around and it's nice to be away from the busy streets of Florida. I REALLY hope that management or ownership travels a little more and simplifies their pasta dishes a little more and I'll come back and become a local. read more

We recently tried Prosecco 22 for the first time! We were pleasantly surprised. It's definitely a hidden gem in a small shopping center away from everything! The service was great- we were helped quickly and they accommodated our party of five despite not having a reservation and it being a busy Friday night! We started out with the arrancini and a board- both were delish. We ordered the fiocchi, tagliolini Cacio e Pepe with truffle oil, ossobuco ravioli and lobster ravioli. Everything was delicious but the tagliolini with truffle in the cheese wheel was spectacular. For dessert we had the cheesecake the affogato and the tiramisu! I have not been in a while, but came with some dear friends on a Friday night, February 2. The service was impeccable, the food was outrageously excellent, and the drink kept flowing. I had the skirt steak and it blew my mind. Mimmo made an appearance at our table, as he usually does, and we expressed our happiness to him for the recent expansion. Beautiful! Great for special occasion, or great for anytime. This place is amazing. A special shout out to the lovely family behind us bought our table a bottle of Prosecco. Well, unfortunately, all good things come to an end. I don't know exactly what happened. Maybe the chef is gone, maybe ownership changed. But this is not the same place it was. My wife and I were regulars at this restaurant for the last two years. It was firmly one of our spots, one of our favorite places in the area. We live in Weston, there are 1 million Italian restaurants, but we would drive 20 minutes to this place because we loved being there. Loved the live music, the atmosphere, the service. And the food was good too. We were there tonight for the first time in a couple months, and it was totally different. It was completely dead, we were the only customers in the restaurant when we got there. By the time we left, there were one or two other tables with people eating at them. My wife ordered the bruschetta, and it was gross. The tomato wasn't fresh, and there was some weird red liquid coming off of it. The bread wasn't fresh either. She ate less than half of it, sent it back with a full explanation of why she was unhappy with it. And amazingly, they didn't offer anything else to replace it or to take it off the check. Almost any decent restaurant offers some way to make good after they've served something that's clearly unsatisfactory to the customer. The house bread appeared to be a bag of sandwich bread from Publix that was then put in a toaster or in a pan. Woof, I'm not sure these guys are even trying anymore. We went to this restaurant on a Sunday for lunch as I read some divided opinions about it. I must say it was a great experience, from the beginning to the end. Our server Alejando was extremely attentive, respectful and knowledgeable of the menu and good with recommendations. The chef who I guess is the owner was taking care as of well of the service was really nice as well. Food: Delicious! We ordered some bruschettas which for the price is a good portion and delicious. Came here for a girls night and walked into a beautiful restaurant with live music. I enjoyed the food and drinks here! The sangria, burrata and prosciutto appetizer, fettucine straccitella, and desserts were delicious. I loved the tomato sauce of the pasta. The one con was that my friends had varied amounts of truffle oil, which was overwhelming for some, in their tagliolini cacio e pepe. For dessert, we had a variety of items to share including the chocolate temptation (unanimous favorite), caramel cheesecake, tiramisu, and cannoli (ricotta and nutella). Meatball appetizer and bruschetta were very both flavorful and beautifully presented. Went with my parents for my dad's birthday. They had a previous reservation so we were seated very fast. For a Friday night, it was not packed so even without reservation I assume the wait would have been short. They had mellow live music that I really enjoyed. We ordered two appetizers (not pictured, we were starving and forgot to snap a photo), the Vitello tonnato and the carpaccio. Both excellent quality and flavor, great for sharing and not too heavy. Then we had three pastas, all pictured here. Their black squid ink pasta was incredible, super fresh and flavorful. Portions were very big too. I have so many good things to say about this restaurant. First of all, service. Service is excellent. We were lucky to be served by chef Mimmo himself. He is very much hands on, and obviously has deep knowledge and understanding of italian cuisine. The menu- it's not a lot, which is actually a positive. We are always up for quality and authenticity than quantity. We could tell that each dish is well thought of and the ingredients are all of high quality. We had the Frittura and salmon tartare for appetizer. I LOVE the salmon tartare. It is fresh and I love it's asian theme. The presentation is also exquisite (all the dishes have amazing presentation) The Frittura is also good. It is calamari with some shrimp as well For the main, we got the Ossobuco ravioli. The BEST one we've had so far and we have tried many! The sauce is so flavorful and we just can't get enough. The Cacio & Pepe is also a must try. They will do the final preparation at the table. Really flavorful dish For desserts we had the tiramisu which was also really good and of course, their authentic canoli. Lastly, i always appreciate a restaurant that has something to offer for the little ones. They were able to prepare my 5yo a fettuccine Alfredo that even the adults in the table appreciated (size and taste!) Yelp reviews did it again, read the reviews and knew this was the spot for dinner. Made a reservation online which is by open table. Once we got there we were greeted and the cool part was there was an actual reserved table for us which i really liked. Once we were seated we were immediately given a complimentary olive assortment and breadsticks. As pictured we ordered the fettuccine stracciatella and the cacio & pepe. The straccitaella was AMAZING, seriously what is in that pasta sauce. Its a light dish and the burrata was nice and big. Would definitely order again! Now on to the cacio & pepe, its served out of a cheese wheel and plated in front of you, with that being said the flavors all balanced each other. This one was on the heavier side but well worth it. Onto dessert- if you dont like coffee don't order tiramisu because it is a strong coffee taste. Im a coffee addict so sign me up for this delicious dessert. Mimo continuously hits the mark with his Italian cuisine that it feels like I'm being taken back to Italy again. Since my last visit they've expanded and added lovely live music at night to enhance the dark romantic ambiance. The star of the night for me was the eggplant appetizer special. I went here tonight with a party of 6 for Valentine's Day Dinner. We were not aware of this but apparently they only have a fixed menu for Valentine's Day and do not feature their entire menu. It was quite expensive (around $ 78 per person without wine...with wine it was approximately $98 per person). We made the reservation for this restaurant over a week ago. We were all so disappointed to discover that the menu was fixed...several of us had checked their website within the week prior to coming and had NO IDEA that the menu would be fixed. Such a shame as we were SO excited about eating here. The menu had looked great and they had wonderful live music. Sadly, we ended up leaving and then hunting for a last minute place to eat...it took us 2 more hours until we were able to find a place that wasn't booked and until we finally ate. This is my 4th time in this place, so far the pasta is really fresh and good, but today i asked for a black fettuccine with lobster that was one of the specials, and it came with a rotten lobster, after complaining, the waitress mentioned that that was how lobsters smell. I returned the plate. My wife waited for me then to remake the plate to eat hers, which obviously was already cold by the time i received my new plate. Errors occur, it is normal, but it is unacceptable to not receive an apology or even acceptance that the lobster was spoiled. I have been eating lobsters all my life. Very disappointed. For starters: We made a reservation online and showed up 10 minutes early. We were promptly seated by head chef Mimmo D'Amore who greeted us with warm welcomes on a Tuesday night for our anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised that Tuesday is half priced bottles of wine, so of course we chose to partake for the special occasion. Chef walked us through the different wines and helped us choose the Primitivo, a delicious wine that complimented our food so well. We were given an olive and peppers appetizer to start with delicious thin breadsticks. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer which flowed with delicious fresh tomatoes, the best I've ever had. Of course, we had to order the pasta in the cheese wheel and ordered a fettuccine stacciatella. The tagliolini was hands down the best pasta I have ever had, balanced with lots of creamy cheese and truffle flavor. The fresh burrada on the fettuccine was to die for and complimented the pasta very well. My only regret is that my stomach wasn't big enough for the delicious looking desserts. To end the night, the Chef brought out limoncello with our checks and it was absolutely phenomenal! This little gem opened up only 3 weeks ago. My cousin and I were in the area to watch a musical and didn't know where to go afterwards. This is where Yelp and Google play a vital role! We saw that this place was very close by and had amazing reviews so decided to give it a shot and boy are we happy we did! Phenomenal service, an intimate, adorable ambiance that cannot be beat, and the food was spectacular! Prices are reasonable for what you get and we were very, very, impressed! They are in a shopping center so parking is free and plentiful, but I do suggest that you make reservations as it is a small spot and by the time that we were leaving, it was getting quite full. It's literally a hole in the wall, you would never expect to find an italian joint behind a plaza, in another plaza, at the most western end of sheridan street near US 27. The food was very good, I liked the caesar salad and it is enough for 2 people. The meatballs were also good and a good sharing portion. They also have a solid wine selection and cocktails. I got the truffle pasta in the cheese wheel. It was delicious and I would recommend it if you want something savory but simple. The one critique I would give is the menu is limited - granted they are a smaller restaurant so I get it, but I do wish they had a bit more to offer in terms of selection though, in terms of both pasta and proteins. It also is a bit expensive compared to other Italian spots in the area. Wasn't the biggest fan of their gelato, but their tiramisu was delicious! I would come back and try new things for sure. Wow! They are definitely a top 3 restaurant per Yelp! If you're looking for a quality restaurant out west (instead of Las Olas or in Miami), this is your place. Unlike larger restaurants with many chefs the executive chef (MIMMO D'AMORE) is there! We tried several dishes and each one was better than the previous. We started with the Meatballs and Caesar salad. For the main course we had the FIOCCHI PERA (pasta with Gorgonzola cheese, pears and brown-butter sauce), Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo and Osso Buco Ravioli's. We wrapped it all up with the Caramel cheesecake and fresh Cannoli's. The ambience was nice, while not a fan of live music (too loud in my opinion) while eating, I wouldn't let it stop me from returning. The staff was genuine and attentive. While short staffed I assume due to the holidays, I would not hold that against them and return. Their food is amazing!
