The scope ended up shifting, as these projects do, and they were right there with us doing whatever was needed (or was no longer needed). They worked around our schedule and phased work to accommodate other contractors. Budget stayed as predicted, no hidden extra costs, and competitive with other quotes we received. The worksmanship quality was great: I still have to look hard to see the seams where they joined old with new. Communication was great during the initial estimate phase. Prosper was extremely responsive, very knowledgeable and came out fast to give us a deck inspection - I was impressed!

Work with this company was awful. Constant lies. They told me they could start right away, which is why we hired them. They didn't. They said everyone was staffed in-house but they absolutely subcontracted. From the state of the guys working on my house I think some of them were day laborers with little knowledge of what they were doing and they had little to no supervision - there was hardly ever a foreman on site over the months. One guy sanded inside my garage all day long with no mask. The sand was everywhere on all our stuff. Another poured foundation cement with big holes in it, and it had to be repaired by a specialist. I paid their workers' street parking tickets for them because they drove cars that looked like they cost $500 each. The work was done without following the architectural plans, which caused big headaches and nearly cost us the entire project. The electrician lied to my face about not needing GCFI outlets in my kitchen and I had to research the code myself and then insist it be done right. One of my kitchen counters was mid-measured and it still bugs me to look at it. I can't begin to count how many times I was lied to by most of the people we interacted with at this company. Lying came especially easy to Adam Yosef, who initially seemed charming, reliable and believable. I am happy to report it all worked out in the end, because the third group they hired to work on our house were good at their jobs and fixed the previous crews' messes. Thank God. But that happened after I already started interviewing lawyers. I'd never be willing to hire these people again. Too risky. read more

I met with a lot of general contractors before hiring Prosper but knew I wanted to work with Eden from the start. Communication: He was patient and explained things to the level I needed and never seemed to get tired of my many many questions. Great communication generally as well. I knew I could always get ahold of him and we met multiple times a week throughout an 8 month project. Timing and Schedule: He never pushed but also reminded me we had a schedule. The crew always seemed to be working and we got through the project mostly on time. Any delay was out of our hands. Budget: He has impeccable taste and great attention to detail but also understood the balance that it was my budget and I would live in the house. Again lots of consultation but I never felt pressure. I was trying to install solar panels before finding out two roof leaks courtesy of the bay area rain. Zach came out and provided an immaculately detailed estimate and plan. Once we got into contract, he was able to quarterback the reroofing schedule with his crew perfectly inside the tiny window of 4 sunny days. Projects at this scale usually come with surprises and this one is no exception. His team identified the infeasibility of the planned installation of gutter and downspouts due to the angle of the soffit, then they quickly pivoted to TPU and other solutions. The quality of the work is amazing. It is also worth mentioning that Zach, the project manager, did a fantastic job articulating the details of the plan, the rationale of different options, and more importantly being transparent and upfront with pricing. We highly recommend Prosper Construction! It was not a HGTV nightmare, And not the nightmare I so dreaded from budget and timing perspectives. Adam, SF-based, was our contact and Ephraim (sp?) was our foreman. We interacted with Adam on occasion, but Ephraim on a weekly basis. They were wonderful to work worth, transparent, approachable. Ephraim and his crew did excellent work, great workmanship, attention to detail. I would definitely work with them again. They made home remodeling manageable. Let me tell you, customer service is king! And next comes service recovery when you screw up (because yes, we all screw up). I appreciate the conversation where he listened to why I felt inconvenienced and came up with a solution and next steps to mitigate the issues. I hope that we may come away with a reasonable contract, but if not, I do at least want to say that I found the owner's response to my review to be reasonable, fair and appreciated! _______________________ To be fair, we did not get even an estimate with them so this is not in regards to the actual service. However they made an appointment to come out and do a estimate for our home repair projects. Then 4 hours before our appointment they called to cancel saying that management said they aren't taking on new projects. Our condo suffered serious water damage from a water leak above and we were in need of floor, ceiling, light fixture, and paint repairs. When I reached out to Prosper Construction, Eden (the project manager) came by within days (if not the same day? I can't remember now) while other contractors wanted pictures and were unwilling to come by to personally inspect and give an estimate in a timely fashion. Eden was prompt, friendly, and reassuring and was able to give us an estimate the same day and approximate timing and start date. His communication was outstanding - he checked in with us often, reassured us, helped troubleshoot any issues (we have a strict HOA and building bylaws), and sent us a great team (shout out to Efrain and his team). They completed the work in a timely, professional, and at a fair price. On top of that, his team fixed issues that were not related to the initial event and Eden went above and beyond to help us clear out extra materials and ensure our experience was great. Our place looks as good as new. I can't recommend working with Eden enough - I knew from the first consultation that he was honest and had integrity, and was reassuring during a time of high stress for us. We wanted to convert our galley kitchen to a more open concept by removing the load bearing walls of one of the bedrooms. However, this meant we needed to convert our one-car garage to living space. We recently had Prosper do a tub-to-shower conversion. Not only did they do a very good job that exceeded expectations, but they were the easiest company to work with ever. After interviewing a number of local companies, we chose Prosper Construction Development for our bathroom remodel. We liked the project manager, Shai, who came by to discuss the remodel with us; he was much more low-key and respectful of our ideas than any of the other companies we interviewed, and he communicated just the right amount with me during the four weeks that it took to complete the job. We also liked the price that we negotiated with Prosper in comparison to the other companies. The project involved converting a tub/shower into a walk-in shower; replacing the old tile floor with a new tile floor; and replacing the old vanity and countertop with a new vanity. There were modifications made to existing plumbing, lighting, and electrical outlets as well. Half of the bathroom went down to the studs before they could start putting it back together again. As with most construction projects, the scope of the work became a bit more complicated and prolonged once we got started, just because we have an old house with uneven floors and walls - and the WONDERFUL workers took it all in stride. I would like to make a special shout out to Hugo, who was in charge of pretty much everything (tile, electrical, plumbing, carpentry) and Kevin, who assisted masterfully with all the work and who did ALL of the painting and final details.
