They were willing to let you move to open tables, that provided a better view, or more shade. If you've never been to Denver, there are probably hundreds of microbreweries here. We found a groupon for Prost. It was $20 off our tab. The place is packed! There are board games and spaces where they could have groups. We opted to sit on the side where we could look out the garage door. I'd never had German beers and holy crap have I been missing out! I had the Pils & my friend had the weisbier. I tried about 6 of their beers and I liked them all. Loved it so much that I took a 6-pack on the road with me. GERMAN BEER IS WHERE IT'S AT! Would have loved to have stayed a little longer and tried more of their brews, but the hard working bartender was very busy scrubbing glasses and talking to a regular. There were four couples at the bar and despite their all attempting to make eye contact with the lone bartender, she was very busy scrubbing what seemed to be endless glasses. I don't like to ding a place on customer service generally, but it was to the point of ridiculous trying to get 1 beer. I'm positive they have some more customer focused help as one came out from the back and helped us with a food order and a second beer for my husband. My husband and I love beer and we love all the brewery options in Denver. We've been trying Prost beers at home and really wanted to check out the brewery as they offer a large selection of beer that is not available in the stores. The beer is authentic German style. Each type of beer is served in it's own of special glass. The brewery has a great vibe with lots of board games and even Jenga to choose from. One tip, if you want to play Cards Against Humanity they have it behind the counter you just have to request it. This place is great for large groups because it's like a German beer hall and that they have very long tables available. We were here with a group of 6 and sat comfortably in one of the tables. They don't have a food menu however they have soft pretzels which are delicious. The night we went they had a dumpling food truck outside. The brewery is in a great location with lots of restaurants in walking distance. We chose to get flights of beer and every single one I tried was delicious from the kolsch to the wheat. German bier, communal tables, skyline views, dog-friendly. What's not to love? Prost is quickly becoming one of my favorite breweries in the area, and not for lack of trying. They are one of the few places that has a specific focus - and knocks it out of the park. Their Weißbier (think Hefeweizen) is easily one of the best Spring/Summertime beers you will ever get your hands on. While I do love my IPAs and crazier styles, if you want legit German-style suds (Märzen, Kölsch, Dunkel, Weißbier, Bocks, etc.), there really isn't anyone in the area that holds a candle to the authenticity and flavor profiles Prost delivers. read more

Joe was the gentleman who gave us an awesome tour and was very knowledgeable about the history and product. He answered all of our random questions and was really cool. The reason why this place isn't getting a better rating is because of the front end customer service. When our group walked in, nobody acknowledged us. We didn't know if we needed to wait to be seated or what. The place wasn't busy there was only 2-3 small groups sitting around. We seated ourselves and waited for a bit before the guys decided to go up to the bar themselves. Apparently the first guy to help them was rude. When one of our guys asked to see if they had pumpkin beer and the guy told him to read the sign. They got better help from the female. Also, this place doesn't have ice! So, my review is not so much on the beer as i've never quite enjoyed the German Beer style, however, my friends absolutely loved the beer. I got the marzen which was an okay enough beer, but i could not finish it - my friends loved it, though. The atmosphere was very much like some beer houses i went to in Germany with communal tables and a more wooden theme. The exterior has room for yard games and seems like it would be great for a reunion or gathering. It gives a nice view of the city and the people there were really friendly. My friends had some pretzels and were raving about the mustard. A nice place for locals and out-of-towners alike. read more

I order the same thing here every time, pretzel and Reuben, and every time it's something different. I just never know if I'm going to catch the food on good day or bad day, which is annoying. However, on more than one occasion, when the brewery was not crowded, the bartending staff was unfriendly, unhelpful and hostile to the point of being almost belligerent. Specifically, today, I asked for Prost's Northern German style lager (their description, as posted on its menu), and the surly bartender feigned ignorance. Even when I added "your Silver medal winner), the bartender saw fit to correct me that it is the Pilsner. When I asked about buying a tee shirt, he refused to show them to me. The place was almost empty at the time; he just did not want to serve or be helpful. I cannot help but think Prost may not welcome older patrons or, possibly, patrons of certain ethnic groups. In a city teeming with breweries, you need to have a niche and do it well. Prost found their niche (German-style beers) and are really good at it. The brewery is like a German beer hall, spacious with long tables and benches. They have pretzels available and big mugs of good beer. I always get the dunkel unless the doppelbock is available. There are lots of games available to play. Bring your own food if pretzels aren't enough. You can also get food from a number of good places nearby like Avanti, Uber Eats, and Masterpiece if there isn't a food truck on site. Hit up Prost Brewing after dinner at Avanti - it is very close and an easy walk so definitely recommend it as a post dinner drink if you are in the area. I will preface this review by saying that I am not a huge fan of German beers so take this review with a grain of salt if you feel differently. In terms of the atmosphere the space is really well laid out - you have a mix of indoor and outdoor seating, picnic tables and high tops. They have a huge selection of board games to pick from if you want to play a few and have your drink. We ended up playing Battleship but there were people also playing Jenga (but the big version - I forget what its official name is). I ordered the Weissbier hefeweizen which was extremely light and citrus-y. It comes in the traditional 0.5L glass and was very carbonated. I was feeling the hefe that night but if half a liter of a single beer seems overwhelming to you, you can also get sampler sizes and build your own tasting flight! Service was wonderful - the bartenders were extremely friendly and even explained some of the bar games to us when we were confused about them. We did not get any food so I can't comment on that. read more

A woman immediately walked up to me saying "there's a sign at the door. wait there" Once we went back to the door, she eventually walked up to us saying there was an hour and a half wait... with a restaurant AND patio full of empty tables. She said she does not take names or numbers to be on the list..? Okay, so we asked "how do we get on the list?" And she responded "if you're going to be like this, I will not seat you"... Had the Doner Kebab and a pretzel. The lamb was moist and flavorful. The pretzel was to die for.

I do love me some German beer and try to embrace my heritage one pint at a time. Came by craving a pilsner and was treated to two options, kellerpils and a traditional German pilsner. Jumped at the kellerpils and saw the bartender reaching for a stein... knew this beer would supplement my craving perfectly. The keller was crisp and clean, everything I was looking for. The bartender was a bit obnoxious about my ID, but I just laughed it off. Parking is real rough as you likely have to park in the neighborhood's of Highland and walk. Prost was our favorite brewery in Denver! They make German beers almost exactly like you'd get in Germany (the opinion of a German). They serve Radler which is the only way I consume beer, because I don't really like beer. The atmosphere was awesome, the bartenders were super friendly and checked on us frequently. There are games and jenga available. There's a food truck outside that was serving German style meals, which added to the awesome German feel. Love love love. We drive past this brewery quite often and have said each time "hey we should try this brewery one of these days". That just so happened to be the case last weekend, we decided on a whim to finally stop in! They currently don't have the parking lot anymore although they do offer free valet. We found street parking nearby but be aware that it is a two hour limit so don't get a ticket! As you are entering the brewery, they have a food truck to order from because prost doesn't have a kitchen although they do serve Bavarian pretzels. We did eventually order from the food truck as we got several beers in but this review is for the brewery not the food truck. I'll say one thing about the food, we got the Reuben and it was not the best I've ever had because the bread got soggy. Ok moving on to the review that actually pertains to this brew house. We were lucky enough to catch this German's fall brew, I believe it was the marzen, on its last keg as a special! $5 for a liter! What a steal and man I was nursing that puppy for an hour or two, I'm not much of a beer drinker. My husband had two liters and he said the beer wasn't anything special. Better than the big brands like bud light and millers but not the best microbrew he's had. So would I suggest this brewery, only if you like German style beer than I suppose I would. They also have a beer club that you could join, if you're that big of a fan. This brewery is dog friendly and they have quite a few board games to play with if you're not into watching sports on TV. read more

This place is pretty awesome. I was looking for a place to eat the poke I got from a local hawaiian restaurant and decided to stop in here. First off, the staff was very courteous and responsive. She carried on a great small conversation and was very attentive to everyone that came in during the time I was there. Second, the beer...pretty tasty for German beer. German beer is not usually my go to, as I tend to like Belgium beers, but I got a taster and enjoyed every single one of them. Take note that I am not a German beer connoisseur. The space is large, with garage style doors that open up, and there is a view of downtown Denver. The outdoor seating has lights for nighttime and umbrellas for the sunny time. They also had a food truck there when they opened on a Thursday. It's always nice to see a place that has a food truck on an "off" time. Overall, I will be back. Walked over after brunch at Marcella's very close about a minute away. Highly recommend the weissbier the banana shines through nicely. Also the dunkel is dark yet smooth. OK they are finally open! Having driven by this place for the last three months I was eager to check it out for three reasons 1. It's close to my place. 2. The selection looks interesting and I couldn't pronounce any of them ... I used the point method of ordering. 3. German beer in Colorado ... Win/Win ... Good Hell, they brought the equipment from Germany, that's commitment! Prost did not disappoint, the tap room was fun and classy. The staff knows their stuff and can translate from German beer language to American beer language. I often heard ... "I like wheats or darks, what should I get here?" This was most often followed by "Oh wow, this is really good"! There are a few benches outside to enjoy when the weather is nice. I have a feeling this place will catch on real quick and start to get busy in the summer months. It's kind of off the beaten path but worth checking out. Step into the way-back machine with me and we'll journey to Kaarst, West Germany (near Dusseldorf) the summer of 1988. I was a 15 year old on a budget spending some time with a fabulous host family & then touring Germany with my school group. I quickly learned that for about 5 Deutschmark I could get a half liter of bier or a teeny tiny glass of Coke. So, not having really had beer before I developed a taste for it in possibly the best place on earth. The most popular bier in the Dusseldorf area was Diebel's Alt. And while it was good, I preferred the smaller, more local Gatzweiler's Alt. Yes, in this part of my beloved Deutschland altbier is king. To me, it's how beer is supposed to taste. But outside of that little corner of the world it's very hard to find. Prior to this past weekend, the last time I had altbier was probably 1993. Fast forward to the present. I live in a micro-brew Mecca. Yet, I'm very particular about my beer and am not a fan of most of the offerings. Though I do love my Guinness and I love drinking just about any beer whilst in Germany or surrounding countries. Well I just fell in local micro-brew love. The BFF and I tried a flight of all of their offerings and all of them were drinkable (not a usual thing for me) and I really liked 4 of the 6. The dunkel was excellent! The kolsch was refreshing. The marzen (Oktoberfest) was tasty. But it was the altbier that felt like home. On a gorgeous sunny day I opted to have a Radler (made with the kolsch). They use lemon Italian soda, which is how it's supposed to be done. Too many places will use 7-up, sprite, or god forbid, sierra mist. It's much better with a stronger lemon flavor. Though I would prefer a ratio a bit heavier on bier (it had a bit too much soda), the Radler was seriously refreshing. Then I got a growler of the altbier to take home. I'm enjoying a stein of it right now! Yum! read more
