Protech was suggested by my HO insurance company many years ago to remedy flooding caused by a burst washing machine hose. The remediation fans, dehumidifiers, mold service, etc. were handled professionally and with frequent updates to me from scheduling and management. Earlier this year I had to make a claim, this time for damage caused by a wetbar shutoff valve leakage. I called Protech again, and again I was satisfied with their approach and completion of the job. If you have a choice on who is going to do your work, you are better off not calling Protech. In December of 2016 we had a water leak in our downstairs. The water damage affected the entire 1st floor; cabinets destroyed, floor had to be torn up and all but 2 walls needed to be cut and removed 2 feet high. In March Protech was hired to oversee the job of drywall repair work and painting, new flooring, and new cabinets with new appliances and countertop installed. Bernie Romej is the project manager. It is now October and I am still missing cabinet doors, the countertop has not been installed as well as the appliances. 7 months after Protech started this job and I still don't have a functioning kitchen. Bernie is filled with excuses, no returned phone calls at times, and forgetful scheduling. I have had my fill of no shows where I have had to cancel work to stay home waiting for these different contractors to show. The jobs (projects) between the drywall, flooring, cabinet, countertop and installers are taking weeks if not months before the next crew comes in. The longest period was over 2 months of nobody coming to finish the floor or the cabinets. Typically, a good project manager has the contractor start a job as soon as the the other contractor has finished. Not Bernie. Bernie at one point told me he had 22 different projects he was managing........... One time the flooring people were suppose to show up and didn't. Then they showed up and didn't have enough material, one time they even showed up and didn't know that they had to do a different area because Bernie didn't communicate this with them. Another time the people doing the cabinets came with the wrong size cabinets - they were too large and didn't fit in the kitchen. Guess who was doing the measuring - Bernie. So all the cabinet work stopped. Weeks went by before they ever came back - as a matter a fact I still have those large cabinets in my backyard because they did not take them with them. So now I am storing their junk as well as left over product they didn't use. I am still waiting for an opening to be cut so we can use a cabinet. Because the plywood for the counter top is screwed into place I can't get the large items that were placed in the cabinet before the plywood was placed on top and I am waiting for 4 cabinet doors - It has been over 3 months waiting for some of the cabinets to be installed while some of them were already installed. Now we are waiting for the countertop to be installed. They came out and told me it was going to be installed on a Monday, that Monday changed to a Friday (last Friday). Bernie had called and told me that they wouldn't be there to install the countertop because they didn't have all of the product and would have to reschedule to this Friday which is today and guess what? They came today to take more measurements and to take the sink to make a template so they could cut the hole in the quartz for the sink. They told me they would be back - that was at 10:30 this morning. It is now 4:17pm. Guess who is once again not getting their countertop - ME! I had called Bernie at 2pm today to ask when the fabricators were coming back. He told me he would call them and then call me back. 45 minutes later, I had to call Bernie because he had not returned my phone call. His reason - they hadn't called him. I asked to know who the fabricators report to, Bernie said they report to him. I Bernie who did he report to and he said the owners. I asked for the name of the owner and the phone number so I could get someone to talk to the fabricators about getting this work done. Bernie said the owners are out of the country....how convenient! I am BEYOND frustrated. The lack of authority, professionalism, time management skills, communication, incompetence and getting this job done in a timely fashion is more than enough reason for anybody who is looking to hire this company a reason to take their business elsewhere!!!! read more

We had our day in court. The judge said there is no doubt in his mind that ProTech was "Shotty" Contractors and did shotty work!! EXACT words from the judge! However he said we failed to bring current estimates from a contractor on how much it would cost to redo the work. We had old estimates from our 2 original contractors. Therefore he said he cannot award me any monies. ProTech admitted there wrong doings both at court and through emails, unfortunately we lost because we were not prepared. That doesn't change the fact that they did horrible work, constantly cut corners, rarely showed up. It took 3 and a half months to do a half of a bathroom and it needs to ripped out and redone. Also, ProTech counter sued us and said they were not paid in full, I actually did have copies of all cancelled checks and was prepared for that and proved them wrong. We won that Judgement. He failed to mention that. Vince was not in court, he didn't show, but sent to employees. Vince at ProTech only offered us $2500 to fix his mistakes and the cost is $7500. read more

They steal anything that you leave at your house while they are doing the repairs on your house...A lot was left undone.

A pipe burst in our house's foundation, causing our first floor to flood. (Quite the welcome gift to our new home.) Our insurance company recommended Protech, among a few others. After doing our research, we decided to use them, namely because they contracted out steps of the project to pros in that particular field, versus one person doing everything. During the project, our project manager offered some great remodeling suggestions, and led us to some pretty good vendors (loved our granite fabricator!). Our neighbors, on the other hand, couldn't handle most of them, often complaining to us - and confronting them - about the noise. They especially loved our floor installer, who would allegedly open all the windows, crank up his ghetto blaster (really!) and sing over the noise of his table saw. Good times. We contracted with Protech to replace the drywall cut away from the water restoration people, reinstall the cabinets/countertops/sink, cut down the bar and make it flush, reinstall the wood floor and baseboards and lastly paint. It took them about FOUR MONTHS to do this. That meant FOUR MONTHS of MORTGAGE PAYMENTS for a house we had yet to live in (did I mention it was our first?), RENT for the place we lived in waiting for them to finish and FEES for the storage unit we had for our furniture we couldn't yet move in. Four months was definitely not cool. Other than our granite fabricator and melodious floor installer, the quality of the work was really just average. read more

We had a freak accident on our house in January wherein a delivery truck backed into our driveway damaging the fascia of our house including the garage door. It was a mess and very frustrating. But thanks to PROTECH CONST. our house is a home again. Looking at the bright side of the accident, we basically had a free upgrade with new stucco, paint, & a new garage door with windows. Bob Sandler was great, he updates & communicates with us, he listens, he answers his phone when we call. Nichole, the service manager checks on us for any concerns, it was reassuring. I had a great experience working with Protech! My home had a water leak that caused some damage in my hallway, laundry room, and guest bathroom. I started discussions with Jeremy and Chris that explained the whole mitigation process that they would do from start to finish and they answered all of my questions. A crew was sent out the day after my claim was reported to do their walkthrough of the damage and actually start their mitigation work. After several days of running their equipment, another team was sent out to do a final inspection and clean up anything left behind. All crews were thorough and professional. We had a flood in our building due to a busted pipe. The insurance company recommended these guys and we unfortunately went with them. They took over 2 months to get the job done. They didn't complete the job. And the workers left trash and fast food all over the house durring the process which caused a serious ant problem. Danielle made this horrible experience a very smooth and amazing one. Her humor and upbeat personality allowed me to feel very comfortable with her and their team. 1) The project has not finished within a reasonable time frame and has been delayed unreasonably. According to the contract, the project would be completed on 5/31. However, in June, the contractor, Bennie, ensured me that he should be able to complete the project at the end of June because he had received all material. To my disappointment, nothing was making progress until the end of July, and I had to ask my insurance adjuster to step in and call your company to ensure that the bedroom wouldbe completed before 8/1, so that my roommate will be able to move back. The delay has caused tremendous inconvenience to my family because we have to cancel our family plans again and again. In addition, the delay also has caused numerous stress in our lives. 2) The laundry room door was different from my original one. I had a four door storage cabinet laundry room, and I reminded the contractor before he started the work. However, he built a large door storage cabinet laundry room for me at the end, and it is very disappointing. 3) they had built my under sink cabinet incorrectly. My original cabinet was 33" width, and the new one is 23" width. So it was very hard for me to find a right sink to fit into such small cabinet. Further, t 4) The workers were irresponsible. After the painters had finished the painting, I lost my ladder, and my blind in the living was torn. I informed Bennie, but those items had never been returned. read more

Project manager, Dax Hayden, and on-site supervisors and workers were polite, professional and willing to go the extra mile including additional visits to do touch-up work. For such a small job, it took nearly six months to complete all work, hence the only reason four stars were given instead of five. Do to the fact that we are retired, the time factor was not that bothersome but some other clients may have been less patient. If I could give zero stars I would.... if you use this company stay on top of them! DAILY! I had a tree fall on my house in January.... my insurance company sent Protech out to tarp the roof... it was my decision to use them for the repairs....... their estimator needs to be in another line of work.... the final cost of everything was triple what he estimated... granted there were some things that were found once repairs finally began.... but I had structural damage which he never accounted for because he never looked in my attic... actually no one from this company ever looked in my attic... I had to tell them about the damage. I had 3 project managers before the repairs ever began... which were finally started when my insurance broker contacted the insurance company to find a new contractor... (we had to do this twice!). I had a leak in my bedroom from the rain due to the holes in my roof as well as a broken window that were only fixed because I asked when they would be repaired ... project manager response was "oh, I forgot about those".... seriously? Horrible lack of communication.... glad this is over after 6+ months. I would give 5 stars to Chris and his sidekick who tarped the house and worked on the leak in the bedroom and Tim who repaired the hole in my ceiling and painted the bedroom.
