Following a catastrophic fire at our home, Protech was sent to secure the building by my insurance company the next morning. This was done very quickly and efficiently, and the whole property was secured by fencing shortly thereafter. While we were free to choose whichever contractor we wanted, I felt very confident with Protech from the beginning so we decided to go with their service. I have been dismayed at the length of time to complete this entire project (it took a Year before we were able to move back in), but it is impossible to say if the contractor was at fault, or just the nature of the beast (our local city building departments are notoriously slow). The strengths of Protech, however far outweigh any reservations I may have had. Their quality is first class, due in part to the caliber of their subcontractors. Electricians, plumbers, flooring, decorating and allied services are top notch and extremely reliable. The Protech project manager was (and still is) very responsive and always follows through. I feel that the company went the extra distance for us, even to replacing items that "disappeared" during the demolition phase without question. The service and co-ordination from their office should be noted, as they really helped the process of dealing with the Bank and Insurance company throughout. This has been a very difficult episode, but retaining Protech is a decision I have NOT regretted. I would highly recommend Protech Construction without reservation. read more

Honestly, I'm not much of a "Yelper" to speak of. However, when something/someone impresses me as exceptional, I feel compelled to YELP! SO, HERE GOES! My mother had a flood recently. We have USAA insurance (who, by the way, has ridiculously strict criteria for companies to even get their foot in the door) so we allowed them to send their recommended company. I guess I should mention, a few years back, a similar circumstance with flooding occurred with very negative results. So, in comes PROTECH. This isn't an easy job, as my mother's place is small and difficult to maneuver furniture etc. Not to mention, my mother can be a bit difficult... Anyhow, there were trials and tribulations for PROTECH to work out with this job. Never, not once, did they become frustrated, discourteous or daunted. They were always clean, on time and smiling no matter the situation. They even labeled/tagged my mom's shut off outside so we know which one is hers! Fast forward to completion... EVERYTHING was done to perfection. My mom's place is back together and we couldn't be happier. I am so impressed with this company, I will never use another should we encounter (God forbid) another disaster. We had a leak in a drain line from an upstairs bathroom that damaged the downstairs hall and family room carpet. Our home is 40 years old, necessitating asbestos inspections etc before the wall could be opened. The number of different people, companies, and adjusters required was mind boggling and took a lot of coordination. At the recommendation of my insurance company, USAA, I selected Protech, one of their preferred contractors. Protech took all the pain out of bringing our home back to normal. Their sub contractors were all efficient and very neat. They arrived on time and left on time. It was impressive. Coordination and communication were very important on this job and Protech excelled in this area. The project manager, Ian, coordinated everything and checked to make sure all the work was done correctly. Another Protech employee, Heather, that I did not actually meet, made frequent calls and sent several "How's it Going" eMails. I appreciated her oversight. I was glad to always report that everything was fine. I read a couple of negative reports on Protech on this site. All I can say is, I don't recognize the company they describe. After a fire at my home last year, and at the recommendadion of my homeowner's insurance, I chose Pro-Tech Construction to do the needed repairs. Though the actual fire was confined to a small area, the smoke damage throughout my home was extensive. I spent over six months away from my home while a complete renovation of the home took place. I cannot say rhat there were not bumps in the road throughout the renovation, but overall, I was very pleased with the end result. I now have what is basically a brand new home, top to bottom, literally. The roof & floors were replaced. The wires and plumbing were done to meet "code". The entire home was painted inside and out. The home now has forced air conditioning and heating. I have beautiful new gutters, and best of all a gorgeous new kitchen. The staff and workers were courteous and helpful, though I did not always get responses to my concerns as quickly as I wanted them. There is no handbook out there to help homeowners through one of the most difficult times in the life of their home, but there should be. My advice to a homeowner going through something like this is TIME! It always takes more time to complete than you can possibly imagine. Be very very very patient. read more

Firstly, I can't recommend Protech Construction highly enough for any level of remodeling or renovation jobs you may be doing. My State Farm Agent recommended that I call Danielle at Protech Construction to help us with our remodel in the kitchen, bathroom and a large portion of the living area in our home and have been delighted with the both the process and the results. Having worked in real estate/property development, I have worked with a number of other contractors and know when I'm working with someone who knows their business and takes genuine pride in the quality of the work they're doing. Both our kitchen and bathroom look amazing, and both are so much more functional than they were before. We were absolutely delighted (and surprised based on experience with other contractors) that the remodel stayed on schedule and within our budget. Remodeling, or any kind of renovation, (whether big or small) can be very stressful- but having Protech as our contractor really helped alleviate the majority of our concerns and I will definitely be calling them for any future renovation needs we may have. I had water damage and as a result walls, windows and floors needed to be removed, dried out and then put back. Protech Construction was recommended to me. The VP Larry came over, assessed everything and explained what I would need to do. Larry was able to handle all the insurance paperwork/submissions. I would have been lost without his help with the insurance company. After the insurance approved it, the restoration project was assigned to his Project Manager Justus. The entire team that worked on my house were great. Their attention to detail is exceptional. They are true craftsmen. They were so professional and genuinely nice people, it was a pleasure having them in my home. They showed up on time, cleaned up my house before they left everyday, no matter what they were working on and answered any questions/concerns I had. I just want to say I'm so grateful for the awesome work that was done to repair my home from the nightmare water damage that occurred It was so nice to have such caring and professional people working so hard to get the job done. They knew i was upset and did everything they could to let me know things would get better. the whole emergency service team were so nice and respectful of my home even though it was a mess. The toilet in our guest room caused a whole bathroom and bedroom to flood a few months ago. Our neighbors down the street had used Protech previously and were happy with them, so we thought it might be a good fit. We are so glad we did. Chris sent his guys out immediately to start drying and tearing out all the damaged materials. They walked us through the whole process which made us feel more at ease considering we had never gone through something like this before. Once it all was dry and ready to be rebuilt we signed a contract for repairs and within a few weeks it was finished. Estimator Larry and Project Manager Norbert were great. If anything like this were to happen to us again, we're glad we have found a contractor we can trust. We would definitely use them again. read more

St. John's, NL I would like to give negative stars. Do not work with this company. I purchased a house they renovated and was promised they are all about quality and service and would fix any issues. That is completely false and the owner is terrible to deal with. He has denied fixing any of the issues that resulted from their poor workmanship. Uneven flooring, uneven baseboards, hidden junk left on property, water damage disguised and not reported before sale, realtor who clearly worked with the company who lied on their behalf. They have a number of reports on the better business bureau. DO NOT HIRE this company. Beware. Photos are only a small small sample of the poor workmanship. It was a pleasure to work with Protech Construction and Vince. I had water damage to the floors and the walls on most of the first and second floors. The skilled professionals that did the work were consistently on time and worked diligently until it was completed. Vince and the crews were responsive, polite and accommodating. Toward the end of the job, the insurance company began to dig in their heels about the final resolution. With patience, skill and professionalism, Vince persuaded the adjuster to resolve the claim at an appropriate and fair number. While I wouldn't wish water damage on anybody, I love the way the place looks now and I'm glad I chose Protech Construction. read more

They worked well with our insurance company. We were informed of the next step each step until completion. The work that was done was a "wall reconstruct". The drywall was removed and replaced, 10' x 3' of carpet pad was removed and replaced (both due to a faulty drain in the wall that separated the garage and a bedroom turned into an office) from water damage. The repair looks better than the original wall !! The only reason why it was dragged out for a few weeks because of the checks and balances between insurance company and Pro Tech. ProTech was referred to me, by my insurance company. I had water damage occur in my home due to a broken pipe.
