A cylinder head was my problem. I've tried two mechanics and was informed that they won't do in-engine repairs. It was a NYE evening and I met the owner, Aldo. I asked him if he does in-engine repairs. Store was closed on New Year's Day, of course. So, I brought my car in on Thursday. We spoke, he informed me the worst I needed to hear. He offered me two scenarios. Either re-bore the cylinder of my 100k engine or get a new engine. I made an effort to find one on eBay. After finding one, Aldo made it easy on me by talking to the seller of the engine.. He ended up purchasing the engine and of course, I'd pay Pro Touch Repairs after install. It only had 25k miles. During repairs, Aldo kept me informed about the repairs needed. One was waiting for a special tool. I decided to ask Aldo to add Bilstein struts. We had understandable issues during the repair that slowed the repairs for three weeks. Yet, he had no problem with my car on his lift for so long. Luckily, for me, my cousin lent her car out to me in exchange for taking care of her dog while she settled in her life. I took my 2006 grand Cherokee for transmission repair. Trans repair was successful. Here's some other things that happened. Someone ripped the inside door handle from its mount. Radio no longer turns on. Passenger airbag light came on. Vehicle had 1/2 tank gas when it arrived at shop. When I picked it up the needle was on empty. Where did gas go? Siphoned out? No one reported that the door handle was destroyed. The passenger seat belt was hooked, they thought the seat belt was the issue. Nothing reported. read more

Honest and friendly mechanics, rare to find... A family member recommended them to me, said Aldo one of the mechanics / part owner is great, and works on imports and used to work for Mitsubishi (my brand of car). So thought I would try them out, Very friendly, Honest, and price was unbeatable compared to any other place i checked, he wanted to help me and fix my car, not rip me off. For that he has a returning customer. The first time I came in was for a 60k service and timing belt replacement, it was a all day things, but as promised my car was ready at the end of the day, i was not in a rush anyways. When I came to pick up my car he took it for a test drive cause I had a few other parts replaced as well with the suspension, he wanted to make sure everything checked out ok, he assured me everything was great, fixed, and showed me the parts that he replaced, how bad the timing belt was, and the boot he also replaced. I was impressed, let alone he took it out for a test drive himself, my car was in good hands when i dropped it off to the time I picked it up. On a small note I do have to ad, as a con they do take a while to return your phone call, not sure if its just the girl up front or just in general and or busy? But all in all they are very friendly and reliable *Would I recommend this place? What a great business! They took my wife's car in on a Saturday mid morning. She had a breakdown in Manteca. We are from out of town. We towed it here. They were honest and told us that the compressor for the A/C was out. The owner let us know that as long as we didn't turn the air conditioner we could drive it home no problem. Extremely slow, had my vehicle over a month and it was only after three calls and an ultimatum that they did work. Vehicle came out running worse than when it went in. Terrible work with equally horrible customer service will never go again. Drivers beware stay far far away. Also they lost my custom Military License plate and asked me if I was sure the 10 year old plate was on. On top of it all they charged me an arm and a leg only changing bulbs and battery terminals. Aldo is NOT an auto-mechanic, he's an auto-MAGICIAN!!! After not having A/C in my truck, that my dad handed down to me, for over 15 years, Aldo has it blowing ice cold air. The truck had been in an accident over 15 years ago, and some under-the-table, back lot body shop put it together. The wiring was incorrect for the vehicle as was a lot of parts in the engine. Aldo, was able to figure out the wiring, replace the broken/missing parts/switches/connectors, and get the A/C working again. He even brought the truck to my house when I couldn't pick it up. This guy is AMAZING and he even reads SCHEMATICS!! I wont hesitate to take any of my vehicles to him again.. Honest, hard-working, humble and sincere. Thanks Aldo.. At first the lady at the front was very rude, she questioned if I was taking pictures of the place just because I was in the waiting room on my phone waiting for service. I only was wanting to know how much doing brake maintenance (primarily brake pads) would be and I wasn't even sure if I needed them. Her husband came in as she was searching on the computer and he immediately gave me an answer of about 180 a side. I then told him that I wasn't even sure I needed pads because I was told different things by multiple auto shops. He did a quick check and he said I had ways to go. They might be a little pricier then other places I know, but the quality of service is worth it! read more

I took in my car to get checked about a week ago and they never called us back, they said they would call back the same day but never did. I called to check in a couple days later and they stated they would call with an update in an hour, never did. it has now been almost a week. Every time I call, there's a voicemail and its from November. It says the supposedly open at 8 am but even if I call afterwards, nobody answers. What's the point in taking my car in and paying when u can't even tell me what's wrong with my car??? This place is a rip off. Went here awhile back to get a simple window motor replaced and it went downhill from there. They replaced it once,twice, three times and the fourth I had enough. The window would not operate properly and would make noise and roll up very slow. Finally had enough and bought my own and had a family mechanic install it and was shocked to find out that they did some cheesy ass wiring to get the wrong part to work. If it was the right part it would of been plug and play. I will never Come back here and the owner Aldo I believe that's his name is a crook and a liar. He was very fed up with me always coming back to complain and would refuse to work on my car. He would yell at his workers in Spanish to not touch or work on my car and him not knowing that I am fluent in Spanish, I understood everything. Where do I start? First the person inside asked if we planned to get the car repaired. Why did he think we were at a repair shop??? He was unorganized and a bit rude. They looked at car maybe 2 minutes. Was told all 3 motor mounts needed replacing. Found this odd since Les Schwab only saw 1 that was bad. Waited 20 minutes for a price quote sitting right next to a blasting ac because that is where they put the only sitting. Another guy is asking questions about the car then pipes up saying "This is really going to hurt. ". I asked why. He said low nine hundreds. I asked how is that possible when it is one motor mount & then suddenly three. He says they have to replace the tranny mounts. I asked if they are bad. He says no they will just replace all motor mounts and tranny mounts if one is bad. Then gives me a quote of $939!!!!!!!!!! I told him I would be getting a second opinion and walked out. Second shop said only 1 needed to be replaced. Took it to a third place (dealership) and they agreed only one needed replacement. Would like to add both places pointed put a power steering leak that pro touch did not mention at all. It was a serious one too. Anyone looking the motor would noticed it. This place is ripping people off!!! Do not go here!!! read more

My 2007 Ford Escape SUV broke down several weeks ago as we were returning from a trip to Las Vegas. Around Fresno, I noticed that it was making a strange ticking noise and was having slight difficulty in shifting between gears (its an automatic transmission) I pulled over and did a general check and was shocked/aghast to find the oil was EMPTY... bone dry... gone. I immediately bought and poured in four quarts in an attempt to mitigate the horrible damage I knew had been occurring. After eating dinner in Fresno, we set off to continue our voyage home. I was heartbroken to find that not only had my remedy done nothing to mitigate the problem, the problem was progressing. The "slight ticking" had increased to a loud knocking. The trouble shifting had worsened into a full blown burned out clutch. I surveyed the damage and determined that my car would top out at 55, sounded like a helicopter, and wouldn't shift unless I let off the gas and then slammed on it. Not seeing any other option, we had to limp home the last 100 miles on a hope and a prayer. We finally made it... 3 hours later. The next day, I found Pro Touch Auto Repair on Yelp. I was pleased to see they had generally good reviews and were close to my home. I hopped into my car, prayed it would start, and hobbled over to the shop. I parked right in front of the doors. Before the front doors had even closed the owner of the shop, Aldo, came in and asked if I needed help. I told him the situation and he jokingly remarked that he had heard me pull up all the way from out back in the shop (my car was making THAT MUCH noise). We went outside, popped the hood, and started it up for him. Less than thirty seconds later he told me to kill it. I explained the whole story to him and he remarked that I was extremely lucky to have made it back home from Fresno. He told me that the engine had run without oil for too long and irreparable damage had likely occurred. His suggestion was to do a short-block R&R (removal and replacement of the engine block). He took me inside and showed me the prices of some used motors from the surrounding area. He quoted me about $1100 in labor plus the parts. I didn't have the kind of cash at the time, so I thanked him for his time and left. Now you might be saying "why is he reviewing a place he didn't even conduct business at?" To that I say this... the business of auto repair if full of cheats, lairs, and shady characters. Even though I didn't employ Pro Touch to repair my car (I ended up financing a new car and scraping the Escape) I was thrilled to find a shop that gave me a no-bullshit assessment of what was wrong, what they would do, and how much it would cost. Not only that, but show me the computer screen with all the prices of short-blocks engines so I knew he wasn't inflating prices. Aldo runs a clean and honest business and I gotta say "thank you" to him for that.... it's a rarity these days. 5 stars for Pro Touch Auto Repair and for Aldo! read more

Reasonable rates, Dealer wouldn't touch it du toe it was older than a 2000 model, and other service stations couldn't work on it due to it failed smog check. Wish you could give 0 stars. This place is horrible I took my truck in two weeks ago to have a diagnostic done on it and have the smog done. All they told me I needed from the diag was a full time up it ended up costing me $430 including the smog. My truck had died 4 times on me since and power steering and my brakes go out on it each time it dies. They expect me to drive it back from sacramento like that because they won't cover a tow unless they know it's their fault. Not only that they failed to tell me I had no oil no coolant a crack in my radiator an oil leak and a leak in both differentials. That is all part of a diagnostic and if they didn't catch it then that's most definitely something you should catch when you're doing the tune up. Completely ripped off and left my vehicle unsafe for me to drive ESP being pregnant. read more

What a freakin joke this place is!! I need a timing belt, water pump and a drive belt for my car. Two other places quoted me $506 & $510. This guy quoted $756. $184 in parts and $90 an hour labor at 6.3 hrs of work?! When I asked to speak to the owner Aldo got on the phone. He told me he wasnt quoting me enough money. I have used Pro Touch Auto Repair on four occasions and have been very impressed with their work. Not only do I use them for normal maintenance, but I have had two major repairs done too. Every time I checked with other shops the prices were out of line. Pro Touch prices are fair in my estimation. The owner, Aldo, is not only the best mechanic I have used, he is a genuinely nice guy. Alternator died on way to Yosemite about noon, I exited the freeway in Manteca and limped a few blocks until car stopped. AAA towed me to ProTouch. They were sensitive to our need to continue our travel from Davis to a Yosemite reservation.
