I know it sounds a little weird because you are at a pizza place, but I wish they had a kids menu. My husband and I wanted pizza, but my son wasn't into it and there really weren't many options remaining. We ended up ordering him the meatball appetizers. We were surprised to find out that it was a spicy meatball appetizer and the meatballs were all pink inside. Our waiter was great and happily whisked them away and took them off the bill for us. The pizza was tasty, but the real win of the night for us was their wings. They are coal fired with salt, rosemary, and onions. They were really delicious. Had a bad experience - table of 3 adults and 5 kids. Server was only focused on refilling the kids drinks - loading up 3 refills per kid on the bill. When the pizza arrived, we had no clean plates to eat. Asked multiple people for plates. No one came and so we had to take them off the set table next to us. Server was just gone for the most important part of the meal. And the place was dead! Then we got the bill and without telling me I noticed that they deemed us a large party and automatically added 20% tip to the bill. And on top of that the server tried to hit us up for gift cards. We are a big fan of Providence Coal Fire Pizza. This time we got three pizzas and some wings and salad for take out.... The Caesar salad was fresh and well made with the right amount of parmesan cheese and other toppings, the dressing came on the side, which was great since many of us wanted to meter the amount of dressing on the salad. The wings were wonderful...they were coal fired and made with a nice marinate/sauce that was based on sea salt, rosemary and roasted onions...delish... The four cheese pizza was good but a bit plain for my taste. The meatball pizza was good, but not enough meatballs to make it memorable, the Rocket pizza, made with a base of a margherita pizza topped with arugula and pecorino was the crowd's favorite. Met a friend for dinner here and really enjoyed the experience. It's a modern, cool vibe interior, relaxing but energetic with TVs all around, but somehow not distracting from the experience of trying to talk. Our server was ready quickly and was super attentive from the jump. I got a meatball appetizer, he got a salad and we ordered a pepperoni and olive pizza. Food came quickly. Meatballs were very good. Just a little spicy, which set them off nicely, and perfect size to get you started and fill you up a bit before the pizza. Pizza was also very good. Thin, crisp, a little char (which you should expect from a coal fire pizza), really tasty, slightly spicy sauce and great, spicy pepperoni, crisp, light, airy crust that was flavorful and delicious. A really, really good pizza. I hear that the baked wings with caramelized onions are quite fantastic as well. Cool place, very good service, delicious food that comes out quickly. This review has obviously ruffled some feathers with the company ownership as Yelp has received complaints - I point no fault at the business for this happening however the coincidence of this is uncanny. We've been here at least a dozen times - service is always good - food is always great - no problems or issues and the ambiance always inviting, in fact this is a fantastic place to dine - however last night something very out of the ordinary happened that needs to be mentioned. I am not pointing blame at the servers or the business but let me tell you that I paid our bill around 7:30 pm on 10/10/2025 and shortly after that an amazon purchase was made for $250 using that card. Now - I must tell you that I have not used that card in 7 months - so the coincidence of this being a random act of evil makes no sense. They quite possibly could be using Point of sale software that has been compromised or needs an update - I've brought it to their attention to look into. I hope they are able to look into this a bit more deeply and find the problem. This was an account I rarely use so it was obvious what the correlation is here between the restaurant charge and then the fraudulent amazon charge. Now I had to waste my time and get my debit card cancelled and now i have to go to the bank when they open and file a dispute all for what? Good thing this wasn't someone that needs every penny in their account because they would be in a world of hurt. Had a fun date with my wife going to a place that I get to eat at more because it's in my sales territory. We got a great booth up front for a little secluded table! First the salad. The greens were fresh and so was the dressing. Very good! The wings here are a must. Salt, rosemary and onions in a 800° oven makes great wings! My favorite non-traditional Buffalo wing! The four cheese pizza is what we split. Great crunch on the thin crust, cheese and sauce are perfect. Definitely an apizza style to compete with any New Haven place. Totally worth the trip! We got the margherita pizza and the strawberry mousse dessert (a special), and it was absolutely delicious! The pizza was perfect from the dough to the sauce to the mozzarella. Even the crust was nice, crisp but doughy inside, and light. Had to visit Newport again at the last minute and ended up booking a hotel a bit closer to Providence this time. The whole day was kinda busy visiting Brown University, a Zoo and a garden. The kids and kid-at-heart had fun and having fun requires to burn energy and to keep that energy going you need to refuel. By majority vote we ended up getting pizza and then some from here. Nothing too fancy pizza and yet not disappointing. Kids are all tired so dining in is not an option. They prefer to enjoy the food back in the hotel which we booked as suite with kitchen. We called ahead to pickup our food, the staff on the other line is courteous and everything is on time. Pizza is good, so is the pesto pasta and the salad. Would love to visit this place again in the future and dine-in perhaps to experience what the ambiance and what they have to offer. read more

This is a favorite local place that we haven't been to in years but chose for a birthday celebration with dear friends. What a treat! The pizza is excellent: gorgeous crust, savory toppings, and just the right size to fill up at the restaurant but have some to bring home. I finally got to have their specialty dessert, which is a favorite of mine and which I haven't had in years: homemade butterscotch pudding. Trust me when I say it is to die for. Moved to Boston from Manhattan, I guess I should be a good judge of Pizza. We read about Providence coal fired pizza and felt it was worth a easy drive. We entered with big smiles from Glona and was greeted by our server Darren. All wearing clean uniforms The restauant was clean, with plenty of natural light from huge windows. Checked out rest rooms, also spotless. Ordered two pizzas and meatball appetizer. All well done, and very delicious. Meatballs had a little kick which added to its taste. My grand kids all loved the pizza too which is rare.. So yes we will be back, and wahooooo for Providence coal fired pizza. read more

Mike and I stopped here one afternoon and we are big fans of their Providence location. We ordered pizza and of course their famous chicken wings. We were served water which was absolutely horrendous and we had to just put it aside. It's really not something that you should drink. But we each got a beverage and waited. I have to say that I have been very patient because I know that people don't want to work and everyone is looking for help. But we pretty much were the last table to be seated and everyone around us was served but we waited and waited and waited. So that was kind of uncomfortable. Quality is there but it is so expensive!! Went here on a weeknight.. Service was okay at best but it seemed the one manager was running around carrying the entire waitstaff on his shoulders. Loud pizza place - you'd assume was kid-friendly but it wasn't. No kids menu or anything close to it. Thankfully my offspring will eat just about anything but parents with picky-eaters should steer clear. Wings were good and pizza has the quality - but my biggest issue was the fact I had to take out a home equity line to pay the $90 for two pizza and an order of wings.. no one even had a beer or glass of wine! I drove here mainly because their website said they had Winter Warmer by Harpoon and when I showed up they said they never had it on tap. Since we had driven all the way down here we decided to stay for a pizza. The pizza is overpriced as many people have stated before me and it's either really good or quite bad. (part 1) I'm not much of a reviewer, and I definitely never feel comfortable criticizing a restaurant, but sometimes an experience is so monumentally bad, you've gotta tell your story. Buckle up, because we're going on a long bumpy ride. Let me start by explaining we were a group of 13 from CT in the area for a gymnastics meet. Our reservation was at 7pm, and we were hoping not to make it too long a night since we had a 90 min drive home. We arrived to a very busy restaurant that seemed understaffed. Right then we should have run away, but once you've committed, you gotta see it through. We were seated at 3 tables separated by a foot or two so there were 4-5 people per table. We knew we were in trouble when it took a very long time to even be greeted and get a drink order in. A waitress, who shall be henceforth known as Cruella, finally came over to take our drink order. The friends at my table order water, and then she asked my son next for his. I said, could you please tell us what you have since no non-alcoholic drinks are on the menu? This is when I first realize that after 48 years on this earth, I'm about to experience one of the worst and meanest waitresses I've ever encountered. She gets this nasty tone and informs me the drink menu was right in front of me. I explain that there are only alcoholic beverages on the menu and my son is 12 so....she cut me off at that point and says, "yeah, okay, I got it!" super nasty like and starts rattling off drinks to my perplexed son. I lean over and ask him to just pick something. Feeling like this waitress has identified me as a Karen, I decide I'm going to try to show her I am anything but, and tell her my son will just take a Sprite and smile what I think is my nicest smile, but she clearly took as a sign that I'm a terrible person who must be treated like crap. Sidenote: I'd already looked at the drink menu two days ago and knew going in I was going to get a can of Proclamation Derivative. I was looking forward to it after a long day of travelling and teenage gymnists....and I just love my beer. So after taking my son's order she moves onto the next table. One of our friends orders the Proclamation Derivative, and it's at this point I realized she's totally skipped me. Then she asks my husband for his order, and he says he'd just like a water. I decide to speak up and say, "excuse me, but I didn't give you my order" and she immediately looks at me and says, "yes you did! You ordered water!" (Um, wut?) I explain again that I didn't actually order anything, and she insists again that I ordered a water. I said that I really didn't, but I would actually like a water along with the Proclamation Derivative. She responds, "you mean Ordinary Man?". I say no I mean Derivative. Then my friend explains it's on the can/bottle list. She says, very snottily, "you need to show me that". So my friend shows her, and at this point she seems beyond annoyed and says, "okay" and then proceeds to tell us she's not sure they have anymore of that. Even though I'm feeling very gaslit and flustered at this point I tell her it's fine and that if they don't have it, I'll just take Ordinary Man instead. I swear I usually pride myself on being a kind and patient person to be waited on, so I was feeling really upset about all this. But anyway, she gets the rest of the drink order and we knew we'd be in for a wait..... (I've run out of space and can't make a 2nd review so will post images of the rest). read more

This is a nice, clean place to eat or drink at. Service is fine. A little pricey for a pizza, but it's well made. Parking on a Saturday night is available as non-valet or valet, although the non-valet can fill. Clientele is mixed age, some families. The pizza is large, it can feed 1-2 people depending on how hungry you are. It's a thin crust. It's cooked just right but the crust doesn't have much flavor. The pizza sauce is good and flavorful enough to balance it out. I didn't care for the pepperoni since it's the thick cut one, should have gotten another topping. read more

First time trying Providence Coal Fired Pizza today. First the positives - it was clean, the staff was very personable and the pizza was ready on time. Now on to the negatives - We got a large pizza to go (1/2 Mushroom and Onion/ 1/2 Pepperoni) and were really underwhelmed. It was greasy, the crust was like cardboard, the cheese and toppings slid off and needed to be reset onto the cardboard like bottom. In my wife's opinion "The worst pizza I have had" maybe bottom 5 in my list. Also expensive with $29 for a large. Tasteless, expensive and greasy is no way to go through life PCFP. read more

Eh....Wings always a 5, tonight's Thanksgiving Special a 1....so so so dried out. I've had the famous thanksgiving pizza in the state (I won't mention any names) and you can't even compare this pizza to it. I love it here! Jenn the bartender is awesome! The pizza might be the best I've ever had. Great draft selection, lots of local options. We usually come here on Monday night because its margarita Monday. Which means half price margarita pizza (comes out to $7.50) and $3 margaritas (heartburn not included) and packs a punch for such a deal. Very well made and ALWAYS tastes the same, consistency on point. In edition to that all of the starters are half off Monday-Friday from 4-6 in the bar area. The pizza is done in a coal fire oven which sits at 800 to 900 degrees! Super thin crust cooked to to perfection. Other starters that i like are the wings,hummus platter, and anyone of the salads. Regardless of these amazing deals, we have been here outside of their "appy hour" and it is always worth the trip. The clam and potato pizza is also unbelievable! -bartender Jenn is so awesome and genuine -consistency is so important, this place wins -great value -manger and hostess are always great -great place to try coming back from the beach to avoid traffic! read more

So sometimes I'm an idiot. Plenty of times actually. We got in the car last weekend to head to Coal Fired in PVD because we had a Living Social Deal. I grabbed the deal to get the address to put in the GPS and whoops! The deal was for the new location. Road trip it is. Good location with ample parking. While the interior doesn't have the same cool vibe as the Providence location, it's not bad. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server came over quickly to greet us and let's just say he was a bit awkward. I can be a bit socially awkward at times, so I felt bad for him, but dude shouldn't be a waiter. His service was fine, but his comments to us resulted in uncomfortable laughs, awkward silence and me just cringing. I got the pear martini which is a favorite of mine at the Providence location and I'll be honest, it did not measure up. It wasn't awful, but it just wasn't as good. We started with the hummus plate. Again, the edge goes to the plate in Providence. With a blizzard coming, we decided to order two pizzas for the two of us. Who wants to cook in a blizzard? Pizza is sort of bread, right? We went with the steak pizza and the meatball and ricotta. I've got to say, I think this locations wins in the pizza wars. I don't mind the burnt char, but sometimes it's a little too heavy at the Providence location and the crust on these was perfect and they loaded up the toppings. Rate this one, OK; but check back later. It doesn't have the ambiance and really great layout of the Providence location, but on a rainy, miserable night its a whole lot more attractive choice than driving into the city. And though they've obviously got the recipes that are so successful at the spot in PVD, they aren't quite executed will the same skilled hands. My order of the very tasty rosemary and onion wings had a few good wings, and a few that missed the seasonings, a few that were succulent and juicy in fact, and a few that were a bit tough. Get that mix of sea salt, rosemary, and roasted onions right, with the right amount of cooking, and they'll be just as good as the others. Similarly, it seems the coal fired oven is taking a bit of getting used to as well. There was a whisp of smoke in the air, but not really worrying as a perfect pie should have a little bit of char. My pie however was pushed a little past done. The crust crisped up like a cracker, far to crisp to fold, and the slices of pepperoni were cooked to the point of curling, with a bit of char on top. In truth, its only been a week. I'm betting that they get it right soon enough. read more

I like this location much better than the Providence space. Feels more like a restaurant than a warehouse like downtown. We got there right as they opened on Sat. and were the only people in the place for a while so I cannot comment on how loud it gets. It is a pretty large space and it looks like they could handle big groups fairly easily. We ordered the lentil salad and the Margherita pizza. The salad was huge and all the fixins' come sitting on a bed of hummus. The salad is served with some bread for dippin'. I have to say it was pretty darn yummy. The pizza came out cooked perfectly and had the right proportions of cheese. I hate getting this style pizza just to see it piled high with the mozz. I feel it could have used more of the julienned basil but over all was very good. The sauce was a little 'strong' for the style of pizza but still good. The pizza was crisp on bottom and the crust was nice and chewy. Granted, the place was empty but the waitress was friendly and attentive. I do think some of the prices for the pizzas is a bit high, especially for the size they come in. I've had the wings and some of the other appetizers at the downtown location. They are very good and that coal fired oven has some special magic going on in there. I know that the parking lot can be a bit tricky when they get busy. I suppose during a pandemic, when we are trying to support local businesses, this $22 pizza is what constitutes for a large. If I could give this zero stars I would. My family and I decided to eat at the NORTH KINGSTOWN Providence Coal Fire Pizza tonight and it was such an awful experience. We sat and waited for someone to come take our drink order for at least 15 minutes. I would totally understand if the place was packed however it was dead. A woman finally came over and took our order, and while she made it seem like it was an inconvenience we just chalked it up to her having a long day. My drink came back with black specs floating in it and what I can only describe as moldy hair inside the ice. It was so disgusting, and most definitely from an uncleaned ice machine. When the waitress came back I told her, and any considerate person would apologize and ask if I wanted something else to drink. She did not. She snatched it up and walked away without a word. After she brought our food over she did not return. This was such a strange experience, because I usually love going to this location. It's safe to say however, after this experience I will be going to the Providence location from now on. When the bill got brought to us the lemonade with the floating mold and black specs was on it!! After this type of service I didn't expect anything different. I paid for it because I knew she'd never come back to the table again. Go to the Providence location people. Went here for the first time and overall had a very good experience. Had the spinach an ricotta dip for the app and man was it delicious! It's served with slices of flat bread. Only complaint was that it took a long time to come out while the other people in our party had theirs for a little while. But our server did come and check to see if we had it yet and did make sure we got it. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork pizza and it was sooooo guuuuuud! The crust nice and crunchy, the BBQ sauce was very tastey but not over powering the other ingredients on the pizza which was monterrey jack cheese, caramelized onions, pulled pork and scallions. Just delicious. From their specialty drink menu I tried one of (or maybe 2) their Rum Punch. Not too sweet but just enough to compliment the 2 different rums used to make it. I have had lots of pizza in my life, but I have never seen it made in that shape before.
