I did not wear the watch until this past week but it had been keeping perfect time in my jewelry box. When I put it on for the first time this week it just kept gaining hours and hours. I could even watch the minute hand moving. In two hours time I had gained 12 hours. I brought it in today and asked if they could check it and replace the battery even though it was new, in case there was something wrong with that particular battery that he had put in two months ago. Rob checked the battery and said it was fine and that I needed to have the whole watch serviced and he could send it out for an estimate but he knew it would be a minimum of $500. I said I would think about it and left the store and then noticed that now my watch was not working at all. I went back 20 minutes later and let the women know that work in the store. They were just so abrupt and matter-of-fact that my theory that there still was something wrong with the battery was incorrect. We talked in circles and I got nowhere even though I kept asking that I would like to pay for a whole new battery just to humor myself thinking I was still correct and they were wrong. I got in the car and drove 20 minutes to a different jewelry store and they took a look and said that Rob had put in the wrong kind of battery and it wasn't making contact with what it was supposed to be and it also was short circuiting and then shutting itself off. They put in the correct battery and my watch has been running perfectly since then. I have never written a review before, but I felt that all three of these people were very rude and demeaning to me, and just kept saying that they were in the business for 40 years, and they knew watches enough to know that there was something wrong with my watch, and that it wasn't the battery.

They have to buzz each shopper in and so they apparently believed that the three Black folks (us) had come to work as doormen versus shoppers. Not only did the staff not say a simple thank you to my man, but neither did the customer on the scooter. As I recall the room, there was a free staff member who could have grabbed the door for his customer. Apparently, our money was not welcome as not a single soul offered me or my niece the price of the items we were looking at. No thank you. When I originally looked it up by name, it came up on Worth Avenue with a note saying that it was closed. Turns out this was the place that had been that store but was moved to a less expensive location. The gal working said that store had been owned by her mother -- who was currently working at a show. Meanwhile, I can see that this would have been a very popular place there and will be so here as well. It was located right around the corner from the tea room where my girlfriend and I had lunch. We saw the sign saying $10 jewelry and that brought us in to look. Outside there were a few displays and for $10 there were quite a few intriguing and charming pieces on sale. Inside, the two small rooms also had a few areas where jewelry had been marked down. My girlfriend immediately zeroed in on a pair of earrings and a bracelet that went perfectly with her outfit. The small store has a lot of inventory so you would certainly find something you can't live without! I like a certain type of bracelet and they had four of them! I can't usually wear costume (that is non real gold or platinum) as I'm allergic but I can wear costume bracelets. All four of them were so pretty that I had a hard time deciding which one to buy. Of course, the one I selected wasn't on sale, but I'm not complaining. It was a very good price. I'd definitely come back here in a heart beat. It was fun browsing. And I'm sure I'd find something else to add to my collection. You would too!
